If you have not tried any of the Wetherspoons pubs, then treat yourself and find the nearest one to you now. Most of them are rather large where they have taken over buildings which were not originally intended as pubs. The one in Braintree is a converted cinema and the one in Colchester is a converted theatre (personally, my favourite). All the drinks are cheap, really cheap, and they always have special offers on different drinks every month when the prices go down even more! The food is brilliant and they do a permanent special offer of 2 meals for £5.00. The large plates are full to overflowing and I have never had a meal in one of their pubs which I did not like. The Wetherspoons' lamb burger meal is to die for. They have a curry club where you can try different curries on a certain night and, again, these are very cheap. I personally drink Bicardi Breezers which are 99p in these pubs, whereas I have to pay £1.19 in Tesco for the same drink! They also have pints of beer or lager for 99p! Children are not allowed in during the evening but are welcome during the day and a large children's menu is available. I'm sure you would like Wetherspoons. The decor is good, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food and drink are CHEAP!! What more can you ask for?
