      I really enjoyed it

This review is of the Hard Rock Cafe in Paris.

I decided to go here when in Paris because I found a leaflet in my hotel for free puddings! My absolute favourite pudding is chocolate fudge brownie ice cream, and I know they had that on the menu from eating in various branches of the resturant in other cities.

When you arrive you get a very smily and friendly waiter who is either american or french and putting on an accent! There are loads of rock memorabilia around the walls and ceiling. There are also loads of tvs playing rock music videos and providing a loud atmosphere.

I had the vegetarian burger with chips and salad for mains, I didnt have a starter as I know that the portion would be massive. I only just about managed it.

I asked about the leaflet with the free puddings and was assured that they could give us both a large chocolate brownie icecream!

The meal should have cost around £20 each with drinks, but ended up being around £13 because we got the free pudding.

The resturant was easy to get to on the metro, the staff were friendly and gave us a great experience. Before you all start going on saying I should have gone somewhere more french I had lunch in montmartre square in a typical french cafe sat outside! I just fancied a big stodgy meal!

I can recommend this to anyone who likes american style food with a good cocktail bar and a lively atmosphere.

Always worth doing as a once off for a nice treat

My review of the Hard Rock Cafe chain is solely based on the one in Venice so I cannot comment on experiences other people have had in different ones.

Whilst in Venice me and my girlfriend accidently stumbled upon this place, we knew there was one somewhere in Venice but we had no idea where. From the outside it certainly seemed popular. Unfortunately the resturaunt bit was closed but as we were not after food that didn't really bother us. In the Hard-Rock cafe you are presented with a nice long list of awesome cocktails (non-alcoholic for those that wish it!) I believe I had the Electric Blue Ice Tea which was the best drink I have ever had (although for the price it probably should be!) my girlfriend had The Alabama Slammer which she said was one of the best drinks she had ever had as well!

The Venetian branch is the smallest Hard Rock Cafe in Europe at a measly 360 square metres but when went there was no queues to get in (partly due to the season we visited) so I would imagine that in peak season you may have a short wait, but as the other chains are larger I would have thought you would be ok in getting in.

As with all Hard-Rock Cafe branches there is a store offering lots of merchandise, some of it HRC merchandise and some of it is merchandise for HRC's favourite bands, they are all pretty reasonably priced which was a nice change for Venice. As with all HRC's there was some pretty sweet memoribilia from Oasis and Muse there!

Overall whilst I would say it is expensive, Euro14 for 2 drinks! It is always worth doing at least as a once off as it is an experience you will never forget

      Great family restaurant

      Atmosphere:
Fantastic. There's always something interesting to look at on the walls, a lot of them have amazing memorabilia. There is a great family atmosphere. The music is quite loud though, which some people might not appreciate.

      ************************************************************
      Food:
Basic American food, i.e. burgers, macaroni cheese etc. The portion sizes are large, and the quality is good. You won't get anything out of the ordinary, but if you are just looking for something to suit everyone that is reliable quality, then it's a great place to eat.

      ************************************************************
      Location:
Depends which one you are in, but they are usually in fairly central locations, within major cities.

      ************************************************************
      Extras:
Usually have a gift shop, which sells some excellent merchandise, and collectable pins. Ties in to the whole Hard Rock brand, which I think is an important part of the appeal of these places, as it's more of a novelty than anything.

This review is based on the following Hard Rock Cafes:

Surfers Paradise, Australia - excellent location, right in the heart of Surfers. Has a balcony which has a great view of the ocean and the rest of Surfers.

Las Vegas - I did not eat here, just visited to buy something from the shop. It was quite a walk from the strip, I would recommend getting a bus or taxi. I believe there is a free shuttle bus that stops at most major hotels.

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco - great location, in the heart of the 'tourist district'. Easily walkable from hotels in the area.
