      A great family pub!

I first visited this place with my mate a few months ago. Not being offay with Tesco reward vouchers and things I was surprised that I could redeem my points that I'd collected on my said clubcard to use at a Hungry Horse Pub, which this place is but also I got more value from using my £15.00 instore I got something like £40.00 to spend here in vouchers which gave us rather a few meals (though with vouchers you can't redeem for drinks and you are not entitled to any meal deals or offers). The Place: Catherine's Inn Bleadon Road, WESTON SUPER MARE, BS24 0PZ (01934) 812275 Opening Hours: Sun-Fri 11:00-23:00 Sat 11:00-23:30 Food served till 9pm, children welcome when eating. The Pub: Well this is a real family pub for starters so if you don't want to be around kids this may ot be the place for you but kids are only here eating and not on a Saturday night for Karoke and things and also this place does offer live entertainment at least once a month which is free and although I haven't yet been I have heard it is great and gets customers of all ages in. The pub itself is a a big white building with lots of parking outside whihc of course is free. Its a disabled friendly pub (with diabled toilet) and is a cross between modern with large sreen tv with sports on and little tvs in some seating areas but its kind of oldie worldy in the actual pub being quite dark with dark furniture and dark decor apart from the fact that there is a conservatory, built on area which is really nice and bright to the back of the pub. So you can eat here or drink or you can do as me and my mate do....do both and this is local to where we live so when we finished off the vouchers, since then we've spent loads in here! Drinking: The dark bar with friendly enough, clean and tidy staff is well stocked with alcoholic, pops and coffees on offer as well as a large array of alcopops and even cocktails. A pint is about £3.00 as is a glass of wine, cola a couple of quid a glass and lattes are about £2.00 each too. They also offer a cake away service with a slice of cake and tea or coffee to go for a couple of quid too to which the beautiful cakes are on display in a glass shelved unit. I don't think the drink prices here are too high at all to be fair though this isn't an alcopop kind of place as a rule (even shots are on offer here!) and they do have a couple of speciality beers on offer which so they should we are in the west country of course! Food: First off let me tell you about the daily deals: Mon - Fri Burger, Chips & Pint £4.99 Mon - Tues Kids Eat for £1 Wednesday Curry & Pint £4.99 Thursday Free Starter or Dessert with any Big Plate Special Friday 2 Fish & Chips for £8.49 Saturday 2 Desserts for £5 Sunday Roasts 2 for £10 The food that we've had here has always been wonderful. Ok being a hungry horse chain of pub the first time we ate here we thought it would be reheated stuff or ready made things that the chef simply heated up on the premises. However I am very happy to report that the food here is always served hot, presented nicely and very tasty indeed but you really do have to check the menu out as not only is there loads of stuff on it there are loads of deals popping up all the time too such as at the moment you can get some main meals on a two for £8.49 price tag though not at weekends. They do a wide range of starters such as Soup of the Day with baguette and butter and Garlic Ciabatta which both cost only £1.99 each, light bites which are wraps and the likes priced at around £3.00 (veggie options are available), sharing platters, main meals, 'big plate meals', sides and desserts and kids meals are around £3.00 including drink and activity book and crayons. There are lot of different types of burgers and chips costing around a £4-£7 and curries (again veggie options are available) at £5.99 each. The lasagne with garlic bread (£5.59) is lovely and tastes home made! and the British Beef & Ale Pie with mashed potato, peas and gravy for £5.79 is lovely too however me and my mate are greedy piggies and like a big plate meal here usually, and to be fair they are really popular and these meals start at £5.99 and thats for gammon and trimmings or an all day breakfast and get more pricey.. I usually have Italian Chicken Parmigiana which is £7.50 'A jumbo crispy chicken breast, topped with melted cheese and Italian style tomato sauce. Served with corn on the cob, chips, coleslaw and BBQ sauce' or the Tex Mex Combo for £12.99 (My favourite) A half rack of ribs, southern fried chicken and a bucket of chicken wings. Served with chips, corn on the cob, onion rings, coleslaw, grilled tomato and BBQ sauce which always beats me as you get so much of it and the wings even come in a seperate silver pot and theres so many of them! My mate has only ever had the one meal every time she goes which is The Full Monty Mixed Grill £9.39 which is a 5oz* top rump steak, 5oz* gammon steak, pork sausage and a whole chicken breast topped with a fried egg and grilled pineapple ring. Served with chips, peas, onion rings, a flat mushroom and grilled tomato and I'm not kidding you its one big meal. I cannot get her to deviate from this meal, she will not budge and loves it. Course sauces and that are provided on the table too. The Desserts here are excellent as well though I've only had the one which was Millionaire's Big Candymania and that cost me £4.99 though small desserts do start at 99p and include hot and cold ones. My dessert was huge with vanilla and chocolate icecream (and loads of it lol) and with a twix in it and smarties and allsorts and it was amazing...kids gazed over that day very jealous indeed I can tell you! Like I say we have never had a bad meal in here and even when this place is jam packed, which sometimes it is you still never wait above 20 minutes for food. There are loads of dark wood tables varying in size and you can't book here (I tried) and I really like the seating here because you really can choose light or dark, a cosy corner (with your own little tv screen and benches) and there are nooks and crannies everywhere so you van tuck yourself a way a bit! The toilets are always immaculate, the place is always kept on top of in the way staff clear up and wipe down, you do get asked halfway thorough your meal if everything is to your liking and you can pay by cash or card and theres even a smoking area outside too. This is one of my most favourite places to eat. The hot drinks are nice if you just want to chill and have a chat, the drinks list is huge and very reasonably priced as is the food which is always yummy. I am now a massive hungry horse pub fan, I've got nothing negative at all to say about this place apart from the noisy kids in there especilly at weekends! Oh and if you have a baby they have a microwave and kettle out for your use too and a changing area plus highchairs! A nice big pub, great food, low music and clean I couldn't ask for more choice!
