Great book, love the post it notes

This is a great little book for those that are a fan of the BBC hit show, Sherlock. The book gives you details about how the show came about, taking you right back to when the idea was in it's extremely early stages, to when Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were being cast as Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. It then dives right into the journal of John Watson, taking you through each of the 5 cases (The Study in Pink, The Blind Banker, The Great Game, The Scandal in Belgravia, The Hounds of the Baskervilles) that had been put out at this time, excluding The Reichenbach falls for some reason, but I suppose there was less of a case in that episode so that'll be why.

Each episode is written down in extreme detail, with little reminders and extras thrown in. There are things "stuck" in such as notes, receipts, pictures, newspaper cuttings etc. that matter to the case, which is great to see as you don't get to see these things in great detail in the episodes.

The best part about the book is the sticky notes throughout by John, Sherlock and occasionally Mycroft (I think Mrs Hudson gets a few as well but don't quote me on that). Everyone was laughing at me when I was reading this in class because I kept giggling under my breath and smiling like an idiot at these notes. They are funny, charming, cute, insightful, and very true to the characters. Mycrofts writing is difficult to read however, and it can be difficult to work out who is speaking on which note, I wish they'd signed them with their initials or something. But over all it's a great read, I would definitely recommend.
