WHAT IS IT? A clip that you attach to the handle of your pushchair so that you can hang things from it. WHY DO YOU NEED ONE? A Buggy Buddy clip is very useful because a lot of pushchairs have one long handle instead of 2 separate ones. That means that you cannot hang bags from it and have to carry them if they will not fit into the shopping basket. It is important that you do not hang very heavy bags from your pushchair because that can make the pushchair tip over with your baby inside but it is very useful to hang my handbag from to stop me having to carry it or sometimes I have hung a nappy bag from it that contains a dirty nappy if I have needed to change my daughter while we are out, I hang the dirty nappy in a bag to stop me from having to contaminate clean items in her changing bag where I store her food and bottles. WHAT I THINK I was gifted two Buggy Buddy clips for my baby shower and I have used them a lot so am very happy with them. They are in a design that some of the oval shape of the clip has been covered in foam so that it doesn't dig into the foam of your pushchair handle and damage it. Some of the foam has started to peel off the one I use the most and that is a pity because it means I will not be able to use it for very long now because I want to sell my pushchairs when my daughter is not using them anymore and so I want to keep them in undamaged condition. The clips feel strong but I only carry light bags on them and they are strong enough for what I need. If you have heavier bags then you should put them into your shopping basket under the pushchair seat again for safety. They can be easy moved along the handle so it will not get in the way of your hands when you are pushing your pushchair, the clips are very secure so do not open when you have got something hanging off them and they do not slide across the handle also because that would be very annoying. I am happy with the security of these clips but my husband says that I should not hang my handbag from them because if a thief tried to steal it they could pull my pushchair over with our baby in it, I have agreement with him and have tried not to do this again but still do sometimes when I forget. I think he is right because these are so strong that if someone tried to steal a bag I do not think the clip would break so my daughter and her pushchair could be dragged by someone who was determined to steal it and I would want them to have my bag not hurt my baby. ANYTHING ELSE My Buggy Buddy clips were a gift to me but on Amazon they cost £4.50 each. I think that is quite expensive but this is a useful item so worth it. 4 Dooyoo Stars.
My main pushchair when Lauren was little was a Graco Travel System and whilst the basket underneath was a decent size, I found that once my handbag was placed in it, it was almost full and as the Graco no hooks and handles to hang shopping from, I struggled when I went shopping to carry the bag whilst also manoeuvring Lauren around. After a bit of internet research, I decided to invest in My Buggy Buddy Clip. The clip measures around 20cm x 10cm, half the clip is covered in foam meaning it wont scratch the frame or handle (although my had a foam handle so this wasn't an issue for me), the other half is metal and comes in three colours; black, blue or pink, having a girl, I had to have pink. Attaching to my Graco was easy, just depress the clip and push over the handle, when you want to hang your shopping or handbag, push the same clip and slot the handles inside. The clip shuts securely and my bags were safe. At first the clip was a little stiff to operate but after using a few times, I loosened up a bit (but not too much so that the clip would come open on its own). I purchased mine from Amazon for just under £5 with free delivery but they are also available from baby specialists like Kiddicare, Toys R Us and Boots. There is another version available which has a combination lock on for around £10 but I didn't feel the need to buy this one as I never left the pushchair unsupervised. Although it never happened to me, you do have to be careful about overloading the clip with bags as it may cause the pushchair to tip up. Overall I would recommend these, for less than £5, it definitely helped me and made shopping trips more enjoyable. I would give 5 out of 5 stars. Thanks for reading.
Anyone who has ever gone shopping what a buggy with know how difficult it is balancing bags without making the buggy unstable. With Jayden being very young he has the buggy seat laid flat and this makes getting anything in the shopping basket underneath his seat difficult so when I walk into town I usually end up like a pack horse laden down with shopping. That was until I saw another mum with a clip on the handle of the buggy, after a quick search online I came across the Buddy Buggy, a simple but very useful little gadget. The Buddy Buggy comes attached to a card by a small piece of plastic which is easy to snip off. The card shows the outline of a buggy with the clip in use, it also gives the Buddy Buggy website down the side and along the bottom of the card there is a warning about overloading your buggy and causing it to tip over backwards. The middle of the card says " clip it on, clip on your bags, unclip and carry, easy". The Buddy Buggy is available in 3 colours, blue, pink and black, I opted for the black as Jayden's buggy is black. The clip is made fro metal making it strong and has a foam covering where it hangs over the buggy handle, this not only stops it from slipping along the handle but also protects the handle from being marked, its slightly narrower at the top this too helps keep it in place on the handle. The clip has My Buggy Buddy written on the coloured part of the clip. To use the clip is easy, there is a small lever that just pushes in to open the clip, once your bags are in place you release the lever and the clip is secure. I have been really pleased with my Buddy Buggy, it has made shopping so much easier, I like to try to walk into town and back as it gives Jayden a change of scenery and also some exercise for me. The clip has meant I can keep both hands on the buggy handle and I don't have carrier bags hanging from my wrists which after a while gets a bit painful. I usually have at least 3 bags on the clip and this works fine. You could have more than 1 clip on your handle if you prefer to even out your shopping but obviously the more you hang on the buggy the more top heavy it becomes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this little gadget, its so useful and frees up your hands. Its ideal for shopping or just your handbag, its also handy for a waterproof jacket. If you use a buggy then this may well be a good item for you. They are not expensive, I bought mine from Amazon for less than £5.00 and it was well worth the money. www.mybuggybuddy.co.uk
If you've ever pushed a pushchair and then gone shopping and loaded it down with bags you will know how precarious and heavy the pushchair becomes. Of course, you can put bags in the basket underneath the pushchair but this fills up quite quickly and you need someone else to put your other bags. I used to hang a big bag of shopping from the brake bar on the right hand side of my pushchair and this really wasn't ideal. Firstly the whole pushchair would be lopsided so it sort of lent to that side if the bag was really heavy and secondly I was always worried about the brake clip actually snapping off and making the brake useless, it never did but it was always a concern. Then someone suggested a buggy clip to me and I'm really glad they did as its such a simple but effective little clip to deal with situations such as these. The clip is basically just a simple metal clip, much like the ones you use when going rock climbing. It is made of a thick metal and is study but has a little lever on it that moves when you press it in and allows you to hook the loop onto things and then it shuts again, safe and secure and will not open when pulled, only when pressed which is an action you actually need to do and not one it can do my mistake if you know what I mean. You hook the clip onto your pram handle. It hooks on really easily and it was really handy when I had my Bugaboo pram as this handle was one continuos piece of handle and stretched all the way along the pram. You can then hang your shopping bags from this hook and they are evenly hung on your pram and don't weigh it down incorrectly. The hook has a hard foam most of the way around it, apart from the lever opening which means it sits nicely on your pushchair and does not scratch it or mark it in any way. The buggy buddy costs just £5 and is something I definitely recommend if you like to do your shopping when out with your pushchair.
This is a fab product and great for mums around town. I was a bit sceptical as to whether this would be big enough and up to the job and was pleasantly surprised when I received it as it was a lot bigger than I expected and very sturdy. It fitted perfectly on my pram and coz I bought the pink version I was also very colour coordinated!! Having a small baby and for the first time in my life not working with no car I found the local shops to be the main place I did my shopping. The basket on my pram is a fair size but wasn't big enough for all the groceries so I thought this may be useful and it is. I can fit several shopping bags onto the clip and it holds the weight easily - the only downside is not overloading the pram by not putting too many bags on it!!
Before my baby girl was born, I spent some of my amazon vouchers on some useful baby accessories, particularly items that I knew that people would be unlikely to buy us. One item that I bought after reading very good reviews, was this buggy buddy clip, which currently retails at just under £6 on amazon, although I recall that the price fluctuated a lot whilst I was watching it on amazon. The manufacturers of this buggy buddy clip state that you just 'clip it on' to your buggy handle, then 'clip on your bags' and away you go. There is a rather large warning however on the packaging stating that this should be used sensibly in that you shouldn't put anything too heavy onto the clip, or do not overload it as the buggy could tip backwards. Common sense, but probably well worth warning some consumers about. It also states that bags should be removed from the buggy before the child. On the reverse of the packaging, there are pictorial instructions about how you should use this clip in regards to how it should be hooked on the buggy, and then opened to clip on your shopping bags. The clip should be hung so that you can push the lever inwards rather than outwards to avoid damaging your buggy. The majority of the hook is cushioned with the only visible metal being the actual clip, so it shouldn't damage your buggy if you are using it properly. Anytime we have had our quinny zapp buggy out, we have been using this clip, whether it to be going shopping, popping out to get milk or just going for a walk. There are certain things that I wouldn't use the clip for such as heavy items like milk, as obviously the buggy is likely to tip, and again that is where a bit of common sense comes into play. I do use it however for general shopping bags and even my bottle bag, which hangs perfectly on it. The clip is designed in such as a way that the bags don't swing as you move the buggy and therefore stay out of your way as you walk which is great. I have only ever had a couple of bags on the buggy using this clip at any one time, and have never had any problems. In fact, a few people have commented about how useful the clip looks, particularly compared to more plastic varieties on the market, and so it is worth putting the extra into a sturdier clip like this. All in all, I think this was a great purchase, not only in terms of price but more importantly in regards to usefulness. I don;t have a lot of room in the basket that comes with my quinny zapp buggy and therefore having a clip that holds shopping bags and helps you to stay bag free as you wheel the buggy is of great benefit. As long as you use common sense and don't overload the buggy with bags clipped on with this, then it is a great item for any mum.
Due to both myself and my other half having demanding work timetables it is often left to one of us to grab a bunch of shopping on our own whilst also looking after our young son. No pram is designed to have shopping bags attached to the shop and particularly when buying large items it becomes a strain for both of us. But when shopping has to be done, it has to be done so when we saw this My Buggy item talked about online recently we had no hesitation is purchasing it and at only £5 is has far exceeded my expectations. This item, to give it its full name Hippychick My Buggy Buddy Clip, is as the name suggests a clip for your pram to allow you to hang shopping bags off. It's a large, bulky and solid piece of kit that you will be impressed with as soon as you get it out of the box. It feels so well made and feels so reliable that your shopping wont fall off as you cross the rood. The clips can take a decent amount of shopping on them as they are strong although for safety reason you do not want to be back weighting the pram too much but should you need to these clips will provide all you need and more. Also when you are not using these they fold down and can be clipped to the side of the buggy easily. They aren't annoying at all and are very simple to use and wont have you faffing around at the checkouts in the store trying to attach them, take them apart and clip your shopping on. All is easy as it should be and there are no worries with this. Using this for 4 months now it has proven to be durable and is used pretty much on a daily basis as we are always needing to carry stuff around. Its ideal and has served us so well making life easier in general and making the walk to the shops far easier and so much less hassle. It's a solid, steady and well made piece of kit that gives true value for money and will last for some time to come. I have the version which includes the lock and bought them in a pack of two. The lock is tight and is intended to deter thieves. Obviously they could just raid the contents of the bag but the lock gives me that extra piece of mind that the bags wont fall out in the middle of things.
I bought a pack of two Buggy Buddies when my youngest daughter was still in her pram, mainly because they were a bargain but also the pram I was using at the time was missing its basket at the bottom so I literally had nowhere to put a single bag. Mine are the standard ones, you can buy a lockable version apparently for extra security but I wouldn't bother as scragheads these days would just nick your pushchair (and baby!) if they couldn't get the bag off the handle! When I first saw the clips up close I was surprised at how basic they are, basically it's just one of those rock climbing clips coated in a foam material just like the handle of my pushchair. The foam coating is there to protect your pushchair and it's fitted to the clip securely so you're unlikely to have any problems with the foam ripping. On one of my clips it has torn slightly but that was a mixture of using it for very heavy bags and my daughter getting hold of it when she was teething! I'm still using it anyway on the odd occasion that I use a buggy these days so the holes in the foam are no big deal. It's obviously not advisable to put heavy bags on your pushchair, I'm sure most of us with children have looked on in horror at least once as our pushchairs overbalance with the weight of the shopping over the handles. These clips would hold a fair weight, a few times I attached my older daughter's school bag to the Buggy Buddy and the clip held the bag without stretching or damaging it. As long as you make sure you keep one hand on the handle of the pushchair it'll be fine. She says. The only problem anyone might have with a Buggy Buddy is the width of the handle on your buggy. I've used the clips with a few different pushchairs and was quite lucky that they fit my main pushchair the best due to the fact that it has a slimmer layer of foam coating than many buggies. If yours has a particularly thick handle then you might struggle to get the clip on, but you'll have to work that out for yourself because these things are impossible to measure! £4.99 from Amazon.
The My Buggy Buddy Clip is basically a product from which you can secure a bag to your pram or stroller when you do not have any spare storage area on the pram or buggy itself, it is a clever little idea however to be honest when you see that it is basically a standard climbing or camping carabiner which has the main body encased in black foam and then the only bit of exposed metal is the clip itself. I paid £3.99 for mine on ebay and it is a useful little device however as always when attaching anything to a pram or stroller you have to be really careful to ensure it is not too heavy as it could cause a stroller to tip however this is less of an issue with a buggy or pram. I like the fact that using this device I can secure a bag holding items I want to get quick access to without having to bend down to get at the tray underneath the buggy and also it stops items getting crushed as well. The device nestles in the grooves in the buggies handle bar so it stays in position and the fopam helps protect the buggy from damage, the only slight issue I do have it that the foam has got a couple of small splits in it and I can imagine that it may get worse however I do not reckon it would be too hard to attach some foam to it if it does fall off. The only other draw back with a device like this is if the bag handles are long the bag does get in the way a bit so short handled bags or ones with the small loops on them are ideal for this device.
I hate going shopping with the buggy as the net bag under the buggy is small and quickly filled leaving me with bags still to carry home. I have tried a few cheap plastic shopping bag clips for buggys but they have been broken with the weight of the bags. I first come across buggy buddy clips when my friend had one it looked like something you would buy from b & q not a baby shop however i decided to get one to try as she assured me they were great. The buggy buddy clip cost me £8.00 from amazon with free postage but since buying mine buggy buddy clips have set up there own website www.mybuggybuddyclip.co.uk The clip is very basic and easy to use. The clip is a carabineer clamp and quite big around four inches tall. The carabineer has black foam surrounding it this is to protect the buggy from any damage that the clamp could cause. It hooks straight onto the handle of the buggy or pushchair and you must push the clamp rod in the way for hooking bags on it. I have used the clip on my mamas and papas stroller and it did sometimes fall down the handle behind the hoods so hanging bags on them made it a little lower but still way of the ground and wheels of the stroller. I am now using it on my mclaren's pushchair and fits fine no problems at all. I was told when i bought it that the clip will fit most makes and models of pushchairs, prams, strollers etc. It is made from strong metal and has took some serious amounts of shopping home lately with no problems at all. The buggy buddy clip has made my life a littler easier and shopping stress free. I highly recommend the buddy buggy clip.
Bag! Ahhh! We show up for school let-in and suddenly my nice calm child is a demon running around like his backside is on fire! I've managed to get him to stop just dropping his bags on the floor before running off to play. Now he at least asks me to hold them (whilst letting go of them and starting to turn to run!) It's a start I guess. When using the big Graco buggy it's no problem because I simply chuck them on the bottom but if I'm using the stroller I have to try and fit the bag handles over the stroller handle bars. The kids race into school when the doors open so getting the bags off quickly was posing a problem for him. I had months before purchased a buggy clip from eBay for £2.59. It came in handy when doing bigger shopping trips because I could easily slip a bag handle onto the clip and move on. I never liked how my handbag would get crunched on the bottom of the buggy so having it clipped higher up was nice. I saw it the other day and wondered if it would work on the stroller. It would obviously hook on fine as it is merely a large carabiner with a foam bit on one end to stop it from damaging the buggy. My only worry was that it might make the stroller too back heavy and knock it over. Thankfully a child's school bag and lunch box aren't overly heavy items so it doesn't cause a problem. When on the stroller the clip falls down the handle and hangs behind the seat which is a bit low so I prefer it on the bigger buggy. Currently selling on Amazon for £1.48 and if you have a medium to large buggy it's great. On eBay if was advertised for the Phil & Ted buggy and others of a similar sort of size. Word of warning: don't hang bags with long handles as they then bash the wheels. Quick update: On the Graco big buggy there is a bit that sticks out whish usually hold the parent drinks holder. When the drinks holder wasn't on I tried hanging the buggy clip on that so I could use a bag with a longer handle and the result of this was a little tear in the foam on the clip. It's nothing major and no one but me will ever notice but at the same time I thought I'd mention it so that no one else makes the same mistake. © oioiyou 2009 Jan 2013 update: passed this onto a friend now who loves it. Not used for shopping tho ... For her it hold onto toys so they don't get thrown out the pram :)
