“ Brand: Mamas and Papas / Standard / Single Seat „
I have had the skate for around three months now and so far so good! We got this as it looked pretty little weight but also had the option of being parent or wold facing!
Good points -
So far I have found that it's lovely and smooth to push on most terrains, you can also push one handed if need be which is very useful if you have more than one child!
The seat is also very roomy which is perfect for larger children, I find my little boy to look so comfortable in there and he sleeps soundly while out and about. The skates seat also lays very flat making it perfect from birth and with it being able to face you and then as they get older face the world it's an ideal first pram.
I think one of the best point about the skate is the ability to higher and lower the handle with me being tall this helps a lot!
I haven't found that many negatives yet but the main one for me is the shopping basket or should I say lack of, there is a tray underneath were you can strap your shopping in bu if you have a few bags this can be very tricky and also it's a full handle so you can't hang any bags there either without bag clips!
The other negative I find is the chassis can feel very shaky at times it has a small rocking motion but after speaking to mamas and papas apparently this is very normal and not a fault with the pram.
I am going to give the skate four out of five stars as it does what I need it to do, it's relatively light weight, comfortable and stylish. I would recommend this pram to others as long as you don't need to store too much shopping! I think the buggy is perfect for newborns upto toddler age! And at a reasonable price.
I bought the Mamas and Papas skate pram in Indigo Denim as I LOVE the bright colours and thought it would be suitable for a boy or a girl. I also wanted a lie-flat pram that was parent facing but could be used as a travel system and would last until toddler age.
This pram ticked all the boxes for me and is so versitile. My newborn son looks so snuggle and warm inside and there's loads of room for him to grow. Once he's older i can change the seat unit to forward facing so he can see whats going on but wont have a chunky carrycot to store as the seat part converts easily from lie-down to upright.
I love how many options there are including tilting and raising the seat unit higher and raising the handle ( a feature my 6' 2" partner likes).
The only negative is that this pram is quite large and heavy and I would imagine quite difficult to use on public transport.
I fell in love with this pushchair when I first clapped eyes on it. I have the chair in the black/lime green colour. On first inspection the pushchair is sturdy, easy to manoeuvre and looks good.
This pushchair is highly adjustable. You can have the baby facing outwards or inwards, the pushchair body at different heights and angles, the handle at different heights and angles and the wheels can either be fixed or allowed to swivel. My husband is 6 foot 4 and I am 5 foot 1 and we can both use the pushchair comfortably. The only downside to this amount of adjustability is the is rather alot of buttons and levers to get used to. The pushchair also cleverly converts to a carrycot without the need to buy extra parts, saving on both cost and storage.
EASE OF USE:
The pushchair is easy to fold (using 2 hands). If you are limited on storage space the wheels detach easily. Although this is a large pushchair, the frame fits into the boot of my Nissan Micra easily enough.
COMFORT & SAFETY:
My little one is very comfortable in the pushchair as it is very well padded. It comes with a 5 point safety harness which keeps her secure in the seat.
OUT & ABOUT:
The tray underneath the pushchair is made from a stretchy mesh and holds all my shopping securely. The pushchair itself is easy to manoeuvre, with the swivel wheels making it seem light and nimble.
The frame has a cup/drinks holder attached, which while not a necessity is a nice addition for long walks. It also attracts favourable comments from others. There is also a tyre pump for the back wheels discreetly attached underneath the frame, but I have never had to use this.
Overall, this is an eyecatching pushchair that grows with your baby, is easy to use and ticks most of the boxes. I have marked it down for the sheer weight of it.
This pram is so beautiful and comfortable for little ones! I had it in indigo denim and everybody envies this pram.
It's great that it can be a lie flat carrycot, forwarad facing or mommy facing all in one without other parts. Just press a few buttons twist a few bits and tadaa.
The basket area underneath is actually great and really handy. Very clever design and looks brill.
Now on to the bad bits as to why I had to give back my skate, resentfully. It's so so heavy especially when you have a toddler in it, getting it up a curb I would have to heave my weight on it and sometimes the handle would just make a crack noise and flop down (as its adjustable.) I also had a problem with fitting this in my boot if anything else was in there. And finally two screws fell out meaning it no longer locked in place and I had to return it. I didn't want another one because I decided my pliko pramette was much better although not a stunning.
So if you have a big boot and drive everywhere it's great for getting out and pushing round shopping centres and parks. But if you like me go everywhere by foot or on public transport it can make your journey alot more stressfull.
