      Nice looking, multi positioned pram

I bought this pram after doing a lot of research online into double prams. I was looking for a double pram that did not have the seats side to side. Living in a village with small shops I needed to be able to fit the pram easily around the aisles when shopping. I needed a double pram when my son was born as at the time my daughter was 2 years old and although she could walk she could not walk very far. This made me search for a pram that could convert from a single to a double. With the Hauck Duett I could remove the bottom seat and use the pram as a single pram when we were only going a short distance with daughter walking. It also came in handy as she got older and more confident walking further as I removed the bottom seat completely and carried on using the pram with just the top seat for my son.
I did find the pram was quite wide but this did not bother me as it was still considerably slimmer than other double prams. Both of my children found the seats comfortable which they have not done with previous prams I had used.
The pram is quite heavy when 2 children are in it but this is only a bit of a problem when going up and down steps. But having two children in it, it is bound to be heavy.
The bottom seat can only be used from 6 months which I was a little disappointed with as my 2 year did not wanted to sit in the top seat so she could see more. But she soon got used to sitting in the bottom seat with no trouble.
The pram did not come with a rain cover but I was able to buy a compatible one through Kiddicare that fit very well.
The variety of positions the top seat can be placed in is brilliant. It can lay down flat which is wonderful with a newborn (although when in this position you can not fit the seat underneath). You can also have the top seat facing you or facing away from you. The pram moves well in each of these positions.
I found the pram easy to fold down and was surprised how compact it is once it is folded down.
Overall I would say this is a very good pram if you have two children who are not newborns especially if you need a slimmer double pram.

      Great priced tandem pushchair

My was 19 months old when our daughter was born and I knew I would need a tandem buggy. I researched double and tandem buggies for weeks before deciding on this one. I did not have much money to spend on a pushchair, so I was very pleased to find this pushchair which didn't look too bulky like some can be.

This pushchair can be used in several different ways:
With just the single seat on top facing outwards.
The single seat on top facing towards you.
The single seat on top can be converted in to a carrycot and faced either towards you or outwards.
The single seat on top facing outwards and the bottom seat in place.
The car seat (sold separately) facing you/or outwards.
The car seat facing you/or outwards and the bottom seat in place.

The top seat has several different recline positions and you can change the angle of the back too. It is so easy to do compared to other pushchairs I have had. The top seat and the car seat clip easily in and out with no fuss. The top seat converts in to a very good size carrycot which lays flat for newborns. It also came with a carrycot liner which was very handy as my toddler had often used the seat so wasn't always clean and the cover created a lovely extra padded layer for the baby.

The bottom seat is slightly tricky to fit in but once you get the hang of it, it is easy. This also has a few recline positions so great for napping toddlers. The bottom seat also folds down completely flat so that you don't need to remove it when you fold the buggy up for storage.

It is easy to put up and the frame is very light. It is also easy to put down and it can be made smaller if you need it to fit in your boot. It can be folded down with both seats still attached. The front wheels also pop off very easily, and I need to do this to get it in our boot (1997 Audi A4). Keeping the wheels attached does make it quite long.

The top seat has a fantastic hood which really gives great coverage from the sun (or rain) with no need to buy a separate parasol. There is a removable bar on the top seat which is good for hanging toys on. The handlebar has different height settings which only take a second to change. The brakes are very good and feel very strong and don't pop off. A huge bonus is that even with a child in the bottom seat there is still room for a large changing bag and some shopping. The hood on the top seat has zip pockets for storage.

Even with two children in it, it is easy to push and it feels very sturdy. The bottom seat is suitable from 6 months and the top is suitable from birth if used as a carrycot. I purchased separately the car seat and car seat base that the car seat clips in to. Many places sell this pushchair with the car seat as a package but it is well worth having the whole lot so you can go quickly from car to pushchair with no messing about. I paid about £250 for the pushchair, £54 for the car seat and £25 for the seat base. I also got 10% back by shopping through a cashback website making this a very well priced pushchair.

Overall this is a great pushchair. It has so many functions that you would usually only find on premium brand pushchairs. It looks very smart and very easy to clean. The price is excellent for what you get. It is simple to use and will last a long time. Even when my son decides to walk everywhere I can remove the bottom seat and use it as just a normal pushchair and it doesn't look like anything is 'missing'.

It is sold with an apron cover for the top seat but when I purchased mine there was no raincover sold with it. I purchased one separately which said it fits the Hauck Duett and it actually made to fit the Phil & Teds tandem pushchair. It does a fairly good job but it is not really long enough to shelter the child in the bottom seat at the sides and doesn't quite fit at the front. But you may be able to buy a proper one for it now.
