The Philips SA5124 2 GB MP3 and video player is excellent for those of you who don't wish to spend a ridiculous amount on the more popular ranges of personal media players.
This tiny player packs in a lot of features, including music and video playback, voice recording, photo viewing and a DAB radio. The only one of which I haven't used extensively being the photo viewing feature as I find little use for such an application on a device lacking a camera, and containing a minuscule screen.
That is one of the problems with this device, the screen is absolutely tiny, and although the display is fine, it is difficult to see what is happening. The real selling point of the player is the sound quality, it is as high as the more expensive players and there is very little, if not no, interference.
One of the other problems that I encountered with the player is that when a song is playing it becomes very slow, and jumpy. Meaning that scrolling through the song list to find the next tune to play whilst listening to one if extremely time consuming and must be done one line at a time to avoid jumping through the playlist 'willy-nilly'.
I CAN advise this player, as it IS very, very good. It does everything you would expect and more, it is also reliable (mine was frozen, and buried in roasting sand, yet still works perfectly) it also has a long lasting battery with good sound quality.
If it wasn't for the tiny screen there would be no problems at all with this device.
