**What is it?**
The Ingo Hello Kitty Silhouette is a 2GB mp3 player with basic functions. I purchased mine in Tenerife because I wanted a cheap mp3 player to use on the beach. This appealed to me because it's rubbery and basic and has no screen to break, so I thought it would be ideal. Also, my toddler absolutely loves Hello Kitty, so I thought that when I got home I'd be able to give it to her and she could use it with her noise restricting earphones and have a boogie to some Disney songs.
**Price and Availability**
I paid the equivalent of £10 for mine which I thought was pretty expensive given that it's so very very basic, but I put that down to this being a licenced Hello Kitty product. I was shocked to find that they retail for as much as £29.99 here in the UK via some catalogues - certainly it's worth nowhere near this price for the reduced features alone (and my review, to follow!)
Mine came with some incredibly cheap and poor quality earphones.
It looks lovely, to be fair, a little full colour slightly rubbery Hello Kitty moulded design with very basic buttons - play/pause, stop, track forward and track rewind. It has no display as mentioned, and it's probably more basic than even I anticipated, irritatingly there is no clip to attach to your clothes so you need to have a pocket or somewhere to tuck the Hello Kitty which sort of makes it being a Hello Kitty at all a bit pointless really.
I didn't have too many problems loading music onto the device, you just plug it into your laptop or tablet and transfer the songs over like an external drive (drag and drop) which I found very easy. It holds up to 500 songs apparently however I transferred less than 100 as I was on holiday at the time and only had my husband's song choice on his tablet.
The limitations with the Ingo Hello Kitty Silhouette are with the design, you can't see the song you are listening to because it has no screen which is more annoying than you'd think because you also can't skip to a song either, you have to listen to and hopefully recognise each song before moving on if you wish.
The battery life is also a bit suspect, it seems to decide when it wants to charge and when it doesn't, in fact after a week of very light use it was so temperamental it ended up being thrown in a bag and forgotten about, the times I have tried to charge it up and use it since it seems to have lasted less than an hour so it's almost not worth bothering with.
Sound quality when it decides to work is ok and the buttons are responsive but the temperamental nature of the Ingo Hello Kitty Silhouette mp3 player and the poor design are reasons why I don't use it any more and consider it a bit of a waste of money.
Overall I cannot recommend the Ingo Hello Kitty Silhouette mp3 player at all because it's just overpriced for the quality of it is poor and it's just got zero lastability, which makes it too much of a risk to be a present. I've been into supermarkets where you can buy a 2nd gen ipod nano type supermarket own brand mp3 player for £10 and I've heard good things about these as cheap mp3 players go so to spend money on this poor mp3 player is just not justified in my book.
I'll give the Ingo Hello Kitty Silhouette mp3 player a 1 star out of 5 rating - it's not very well designed, it's not very well made, the sound quality is so-so but that's almost irrelevant when the battery seems to degrade within a week or two of purchase and it ends up pretty much unusable.
My advice: avoid and spend your pennies on something more reliable.
This is a product which I bought for my daughter she really loves Hello Kitty and as she is now enjoying music and I thought this would be a lovely little surprise for her, so I didn't tell my daughter when I ordered it for her and she was super happy when the Ingo Hello Kitty Silhouette MP3 was delivered.
This product is very charming, it has a wonderful design and looks great and big enough that my daughter will not lose it easily and all though I would have some issue's if it was mine it is perfect for my young daughter. There is not a display screen on this product and also no bars which let you know how charged it is, this has not been a problem for my daughter as she does not use it all that much, preferring to watch movies but for some these points may be a problem.
This is a simple product aimed for easy use for children, with only three control buttons which are the volume button and skip forward and back buttons, it did not take long for my daughter to work out how to use it and she can skip to her favorite songs and control the volume very easily. It may be handy to know that when we received this item the headphones which came with it were of extremely poor quality but after replacing them with some of my own it worked much better, so you may want to order some decent headphones as well if you are interested in buying this.
I think this is a fantastic little MP3 for youngsters, maybe not for someone a bit older but lets face it this is aimed for children to use, it is 2GB and very easy to use and I would say it makes for a great little gift that children can really enjoy. I bought this off Amazon and it cost me £8 which I thought was very reasonable, since buying this I have read some terrible reviews on the Amazon website about it but I do disagree, for eight pounds and the fact this is a Hello Kitty product this is obviously aimed at kids, it is not high tech which I am glad about and is also a very simple device which I am also happy about because it is so easy for my daughter to use.
I would certainly recommend this as a gift for a youngster, anybody who has a child in there life who likes music and Hello Kitty then this would be a perfect gift.

I bought this MP3 player as a Christmas present for my daughter from studio for £29.99. She was well pleased when she opened it and I put songs straight onto it for her and charged it up. It is said to hold 500 songs but I only put on about 30 for her. She decided to take it to my sisters with her but up there it just went dead, assuming the battery had gone we just left it and charged it up when we got home.
Even after been on charge for ages t just would not switch back on. The only way it would play was when it was still on charge. Still I left it to charge over night but the next morning still nothing.
Well I was not happy that a Christmas present I bought would not work, so I decided to ring studio up to send it back as it was still under warranty. When I rang the woman said it was not the first complaint about them, so obviously they are not that good. She went on to ask if I wanted a replacement one sending. After what she had just said there was no way I wanted another one, so I paid extra to upgrade her to another one.
I was not totally happy with the design of this anyway. It is just made of a rubber surround, but had no screen on it so you could not see what songs you had on there or what was playing, you just had a few buttons on the front to play pause, skip songs and the volume keys. The only part about it that was good is that it was shaped like hello kitty.
Since reporting this to studio I have seen quite a few bad reviews on the item and her is yet another one. I would not recommend this to buy, I would say pay a little bit extra and get a decent one. Stay away from these.
I actually bought this for myself as i love hello kitty and was super excited to have this item! I love the deign its just adorable and good quality not some cheap silly item that looks like its a fake knock off which so many hello kitty items are these days so i was very pleased about that :)
The size of this product is quite nice as its not too big but not too small it fits nicely into pockets and into my bag but doesnt get lost in all my stuff.
while this is a very cute product sadly it comes with alot of downfalls.
there sadly is no display screen at all so this makes it hard to tell what song is playing, there also is no way of knowing how much battery there is left because the light is red when charging and when low so theres no way of knowing if its been on charge long enough.
when its plugged into the computer there is no information on the battery that is visible either i think this is a big let down. on the topic of the computer you have to use a wire to charge it there isnt a built in USB charger which isnt a big deal to some but i prefer the built in USB chargers as its easier for when im on the go!
so so far its cute but quite impractical could this product get worse? unfortunately yes ....
the sound quality isnt great at all using the headphones that are included the music comes out very quiet and really tinny just plain awful! using some of my own headphones it is a bit better yes but thats not the point i paid for this product that included headphones and find it a joke that they are of such poor quality considering the price :/
there are three control buttons and its not that bad its quite simple which is nice but no real way of setting the volume but ah well it doesnt bother me that much one is the on off switch and to also pause and play (abit of an odd thing ) one is to skip the song and increase the volume and the other is to skip back and decrease the volume i think it could have been improved with a few more control buttons just for ease.
this product could be improved if it had a display screen so you could see your battery and song choice, a built in usb charger so it can be charged whenever and wherever possible, better headphone and of course some extra controls for ease.
overall i think its a great hello kitty item just to have or give to a small child if you arnt a collector yourself but as an mp3 player id pay the extra and buy a better quality one i would defiantly not recommend this item to anyone looking for a cheap and cheerful mp3 player just dont do it guys!
