      Very helpful

Is is a spider plant, is it a plane? No it's???

I still after all these years do not know where my brother got this plant, but its the reason I took over the garden and banned him from it.
These are ideal near windswept places or water hence why my brother walked in the door spilt one plant into four, carefully dividing at the roots and planted them in different areas around the pond we had.
The colour is quite strange, on the picture here they look black, but they came as pale green I mistook hem for a spider plant at first then some of the rather long leaves went brown or rusty red and yes some even went black.
These really did whether any storm even a winter which can be rare.
We really left these to themselves and they spread around the pond, they were great for the frogs and pond life we had but the did not complement the garden colour wise, they looked quite harsh as a backdrop and a little on the dull side for me.
