Nice for a change but no enchanced pleasure in my case

I've always bein BIG on protection. The thought of getting pregnant at my age terrifies me, as does the thought of contracting some kind of STI/STD. According to Durex, when a condom is used correctly, they're around 98% affective on protecting both sexual partners from any nasties. I usually use the usual condoms that are smooth to the touch and lubed, but my boyfriend recently got a pack of these for us to try. At £8 for a pack of 12 from boots, they were a good buy. I was intrigued by these condoms, with them bein ribbed, as i've heard so many good reviews about them 'enchancing pleasure' etc. The way that ribbed condoms work is they have ridges moulded into the condom's sides. As the penis is moved in & out, the pressure of the ridges creates a nice sensation for the women. I wouldn't say there's any extra pleasure for the man though. They came in a green pack with 'Durex Ribbed' written on the front, and in individual green packs, with the actual condoms bein the usual Durex pinkish colour, with darker patches of pinky-purple on the ribs. The condom was easily applied - in the same manner as other condoms, and my boyfriend said it felt fine. The smell was your typical latexy condom smell, not too bad but not nice. I liked the feel but didn't really think it was anything special, but it was nice for a bit of a change and made things more fun. There was no itchyness or soreness afterwards like some condoms can cause. I think these have the potential to make a difference to someones sex life, just not mine :-) Worth a try!

Did you hear about the male frog who decided to make his love life more exciting ? He thought he'd ribbit for her pleasure ! Now that I've entertained you with a joke shamelessly stolen from a friends profile page, lets get onto the review! We all know that condoms are a pretty effective means of preventing not only unwanted pregnancy, but also all manner of STDS . When used perfectly, they're about 97% effective, so it's no wonder that they are such a popular method of contraception . They come in all manner of varieties - flavoured, extra thick, lubricated, non-lubricated - all kinds. Today though, I'm focusing on the Ribbed variety, specifically the Durex Ribbed . Why Durex ? Well, it's all about brand confidence - Durex are one of the best known brands of Condom, and having used them in the past, I'm already safe in the knowledge that all their condoms carry the 'kite mark' on the outside of the packet - an assurance that the product meets British Safety standards. Why Ribbed ? Well, apparently the ribs on the condom will greatly enhance sensation, leading to a more pleasurable sexual experience . And lets face it, if it already fulfils my needs as a contraceptive, why not go for a little extra fun as an added bonus . The condoms , once opened, are the same pinkish colour as the ordinary durex condoms, with darker patches of pink showing where the ribs are. The application procedure with these is the same with any other condoms - open the pack carefully, make sure the rolled edge is on the outside, pinch the tip, and simply smooth down the shaft of the penis . Simple enough to do, and I noticed no difference in ease of application at all . But did I notice a difference in pleasure levels ? Actually, yes. It wasn't anything dramtic, but the ribs did make a subtle difference in use - it felt like I could feel more, there was just that little bit more friction going on. I will say that as we got further into the act I could notice this less, perhaps because natural lubrication interfered, but certainly in the earlier moments of sex there was a subtly but noticable increase in pleasure for me . Would I recommend these? Yup, I think I would . I don't know that the difference would be enough to make me buy these each and every time, but certainly as an occasional use these fit the bill . They cost around £8.99 for 12, and are available in most chemists and supermarkets .

after some negative experiences with durex elite (and a number of other brands, including the much-advertised 'pleasureplus') i tried durex ribbed.these, for me, were much better, and once i got used to the feel of them, virtually unnoticed.they are quick and easy to put on, secure, give decent sensation to both partners, and well worth the money. surprising how much difference the ribs seem to make.i'd recommend them whole-heartedly.

I actively seek these out. Since my partner came off of oral cotraceptives we have beeen looking for a decent alternative. Normal condoms are just too thick and the feeling is lost. The dotted ones are Ok but more for the woman, the extra thin ones just split on me so they are a no brainer. The ribbed ones, although they are a tight fit (I actually think thats a bonus as the ribbs actually grip you tighter)I find the ribs to be just right for an exra sensation, and I would say they were worth the extra money.

          Disadvantages

          Well worth the price

Since sexual health is such an important subject I thought it was important for me to do a review on at least one Durex product, although I wasn't entirely sure if I could trust my infantile mind to be serious about it. But what the heck I'll give it a shot, hopefully without too much childishness on my part. As we all know sexual health is a very important part of our lives, and to be honest it's the only thing I take seriously. I am after all a perfectly healthy 21-year-old, and don't wish to jeopardise my, or anyone else's, well being my picking up any unpleasant diseases. And although I wouldn't mind a 'hewhoisasmallerme' sometime in the future, I do mean 'in the future,' certainly not right now. So condoms are always a must, but the biggest problem lies in choosing them. After all, there's so much to take into account. They need to strong, secure, lubricated, flexible, comfortable, oh and if entirely possible, actually enjoyable. This is where Durex comes in. Since becoming sexually active I have always used Durex condoms, but I only recently swapped over to the ribbed variety, and to be honest they fit all the categories perfectly. They are very strong and reliable, as I have never yet had to experience the horror of the old 'split johnny,' but not so thick as to overly limit sensation. They also come with a series of ribs, designed to stimulate the bits that, ahem...need stimulating. And at £1.99 for 3, or £5.99 for 12, they are hardly a bank breaker. I've tried other styles from the Durex series, but I have to admit the ribbed suits me perfectly. They have everything my partner and I need in a contraceptive, and the ribs certainly bring an extra dimension into it (blushes). Unfortunately, I have no idea what else I can say without getting a little graphic, so I think its best for you to make your own decision. I'll refrain from winking, but it isn't half tempting.

After seeing these in the chemist i was intrigued to try them, the ribbed design on them is supposed to enhance the pleasure for the woman and what man doesnt want his wife to have as much pleasure as possible. The first thing i noticed about these upon opening them is that they are a little narrower than the normal condoms so are a little too tight for comfort, they are as long but not as wide. The ribs on the outer are not as pronounced as the box seems to sugest but i thought we would try these out and see if they are any good. The condom is thicker, only slightly but noticably so takes away some of the stimulation for me as there is not as much feeling wholst wearing these, the ribs did not enhance the pleasure for my wife either, they do work as a condom, didnt split so do there job as a contraception but i wouldnt buy them again.

Try these for a happy wife or girlfriend

Ok, although nobody like to read about other folks sex life (well some folk dont lol). But you have to mention sex to describee these condoms in detail. Me and my husband have three children and we were determined not to have anymore or have any little accidents which would lead to a football eam in my home. So we decided to use condoms for a while. We tried the usual ones just normal, and although these were ok, i felt the need for something a bit more fun! This is where the Durex Ribbed come in for me. After using these i have never looked back. I really think these enhance the sensation for the woman. I wouldnt use any other condom now. You cant feel them but you can feel the ribs on the condom and my husband also says hes can feel a sensation from them. They were easy to put on and have worked well for us every time. They have never split or rolled down and are always comfortable for both myself and my hubby. Sorry if theres TMI lol but its the best way to describe them. Have fun finding out for yourself everyone!!

Firstly i must point out that i hate these so if you are waiting for the good part at the end you will be very disapointed. I thought these were a great idea when i first saw them sitting on the shelf in the shop and at only 50p more expensive than a normal box of condoms i was going to be giving these a try as the idea of a ribbed condom realy appealed to me. My first disapointment was when we took the condom out of the packet, i was told by the box there were ribs in these things not tiny little srcatches like on a old fashioned record but if they were as good as the box said then did the look realy matter. My hubbys disapointment with these is that they are a little thicker than normal condoms so mask the sensation even more than normal but he was willing to put up with this if they gave me extra pleasure. There final failing was that other than feeling rougher in texture when rubbed against my skin they did absolutley nothing to enhance the pleasure for me so i was bitterly disapointed with these and definately wont ever buy them again.

These are the personal favourites of both me and my special lady friend. The extra sensations she receives from the ribs has her squealing with delight. In many ways they are vastly superior to other ribbed condoms, but I will leave it to her to tell you quite how it is better than the others. From my point of view, I feel secure in the knowledge that they won't burst or break and that they will protect both of us against any sexually transmitted diseases that we may have picked up whilst cheating on each other. The price of these, as well as all condoms are extortionate though.

So we come to the second condom review, it's taken me a while but I got a little carried away with all the research and people I know pestering me online through this site. Ribbed. If you've never tried ribbed before, you haven't lived and for most, these little babies are the first port of call. They were for me when I wanted to add a little something extra to my sex life. They come in three's, 12's and 24's. Three would be £2.99 while your looking at £5.99 for 12 and around £12.99 for 24 so it's cheaper the more you buy but I always think it's a bad omen to buy a pack of 24 or even 12. You can guarentee you aint having sex for a long time when you splash out on a bumper pack... Durex is the most popular brand of condom so it would work out that these are the most popular type of ribbed condoms used. They probably are. You can get them everywhere... Boots, Supermarkets, Chemists, Vendors... All for around the same price though I did get mine from a sale in Boots, Half Price, I had a big smile across my face as I purchased my pleasure for a bargin price! The way that ribbed work is that they have little ridges moulded into the sides of the condom all the way around so as you move in and out, more sensation is created by the touching of these ridges to the inside of the woman. There arn't really any direct advantages for the man though some say they can feel the ridges too and they apply pressure which is pleasurable but also they like to see that little something extra it gives the woman as she finds more pleasure!!! They come in little green packets, standard colour, boring but definitive so you can pick them out from the others in your draw if your fumbling around for that extra pleasure! They look the same colour as most condoms, peach latex but they have these funny little ridges towards the base of the condom, small but noticable. Now I've mentioned safety an d taste before but to refresh on those new readers, condoms are a safe method of STD and Pregnancy prevention. 99% safe so you don't need to go looking for holes or tears unless you catch them on jewellery or nails etc. Just don't transfer semen to the outside of the condom from foreplay! It's rare but this is how accidents can happen OH and hold the base of the condom as you withdraw please gentlemen, we don't want to go searching after and this can be damgerous for leakage! As for taste, ALL condoms taste like rubber so really... don't bother licking them! If you really can't stand the taste of willies, cover them in something other than rubber unless you are preventing form STD's in which case use a flavoured one which taste less so like rubber. The feel of these condoms I have discovered can be different depending upon the circumstances. This is a little wierd but the effect of the ribs seems to depend upon the size of the penis. I'm not being funny here but my last boyfriend was quite large and these ribbed condoms made quite a bit of difference probably because of the pressure on the sides. With other more average sized boyfriends... the difference hasn't been so much... well, with these condoms anyway! They do add a little bit more pleasure but the old technique saying springs to mind here. It's most the size of the boat but the motion of the oceon which makes the difference here and for once I agree. They are worth a try but I wouldn't swear by them as a way to add a lot of pleasure into your sex life. More for fun.

or SOMETHING FOR THE WEAK END, SIR? or even 'JONNY COME LATELY' There are three main kinds of penetrative sex - lets face it - and condoms are extremely useful in each of them. Whether you are a man or a woman - engaging in oral sex, full intercourse or any kind of 'backdoor' activity - these days Condoms are a must. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ~ WARNING - There may be some very tacky language used in this op. Words such as 'splat', 'goo', 'plop', 'spurt', 'suck', 'blow' and even 'todger' could find their into the text. Phases such as 'Oh yeah Baby' and 'Harder, yes, aaaaaagh' may not be graphically portrayed, but simply inferred. Please, if you find these kind of words offensive.....what the hell are you reading THIS for? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ OK So there are those of us - married for a gazillion years - who have just the one sexual partner. In this case, condoms need not be used during sexual playtime, but can be used possibly as a change or as an aid to lubricating parts which in advancing age may not be as pliable and amenable to errr....rough treatment as in past years. Obviously the horrors of HIV (or as someone I know called it HGV - does he know something about lorry drivers I don't?) and Aids have brought the 'Safe Sex' use of condoms to the forefront. With not only homosexual intercourse, being linked to these diseases, but straight'sex too, especially of an overly promiscuous nature. The whole notion of safe sex took on a completely new meaning at the end of the 1980s with the spread of these awful plagues. It used to be that a man would wear a condom purely to prevent his lady getting pregnant. If the couple were regular sexual partners and a condom was dispensed with, the worst that would happen would be....a bouncing baby! Or the absolute worse case scenario would be those taboo sexual diseases - V.D, gonorrhoea, syphilis etc, if you were to 'sleep around'. But the advent of Aids scared the sexually liberated - both straight and gay. It was a killer. Gone therefore are the days when condom was a dirty word....the kind of thing that schoolboys (and indeed grown men) would snigger about and get embarrassed buying at the chemists. It was accepted that if you were 'out on the pull', you would carry one with you - just to be safe - but also one less reason why the apple of your eye would not sleep with you, of course. In fact in the new condom generation, I'm sure there has been more than one moment of embarrassment, when the girl of your dreams rings you up to suggest you 'bring your mates round'. So you dive into your bedroom draw, grab a handul of 'mates' condoms and dash round.........oops! I must confess, the last time I used a condom was somewhere around 1975. I think they were still made of rubber in those days. But for the sake of this opinion only, I convinced my wife of very nearly 25 years, to 'humour me' (funny phrase for oral sex isn't it?) and we set about getting in a supply of the latest...or should I say 'latex' varieties. Now before any of you even think that to 'road test' half a dozen condoms, in the normal course of our sexual life would take well over six months - don't let my bald head and ageing features fool you. I AM A STUD! (...yes dear and you are a horny bitch too - she'd like that put in writing in case any of our neighbours read this). So it was off to the chemists, the men's toilets in a pub and a couple of other places locally that have blacked out windows and sell all manner of 'sexual playthings' shall we say...??!! Not being used to wearing this little things any longer (well not longer - shorter to be truthful), I did not quite know what to look for - after all the ones with the ribbed bits and the nobby things on the end where not going to give ME the pleasure were they? Size matters, of course - Am I dreaming or did they used to have 'shrink to fit' ones in the old days? Whether your manhood is the size of a wiggly worm, or stands as tall and erect as Big Ben, then there is a size for you. They come is 'tiny todger' size, 'merely a mouthful', which is pretty much medium, right through to 'dustbin liner' for those of you who like to boast that 'extra large' is a bit of a snug fit !!! After doing our market research, we settled on some flavoured condoms - a glow in the dark one (so that Jill could carry on reading her book - under the covers) - a couple of regulars and a Durex one "with uniquely positioned ribs designed for greater lovemaking, coral coloured, lubricated with a non-spermicidal lubricant, teat-ended". So let's get ready to rumble - as it were. First...please, could we try the 'Rhubarb and Custard' flavoured one. With the picture on the pack this looked good enough to eat - and if only I'd been just a bit more flexible....??? But my road tester declared that it was "bloody horrid!'" so there was the first bout of potential excitement rather 'blown' away. The excitement mounted (you see that's my pseudo WWF nickname - 'The Excitement') and it was onward and upward.....??!! The ribbed one was very popular for the lady, I'm pleased to report and after disposing of that one quickly (hey I've got a few to get through, I can't hang around) it was back to a 'taste test'. Maybe strawberry or banana would be more to her liking. Hey, yes, this Strawberry is good. Mmmmmm very tasty - don't know what she thought about it, but it was doing the 'business' for me. Then - damn it - the bloody phone goes!!!! It was my eldest son, ca n we pick him up in the morning and take him to work? To say that rather ruined the moment...well. "Let's try turning the lights out and get to work on the 'glow in the dark' one". Now this was something different. It worked. A little bit of lip action, some smooth tongue work and we were ready for re-entry. Yes, it definitely looked odd, but it was a rather pleasurable 'odd'. Very Sci-Fi. Ideal for some role playing I'd say. "Ground Control to Major Tom.... la la la.... I'm getting very near....la la la". And another one bites the dust. Well all that has definitely worn me out. Anyway I, sorry , We would recommend the Durex Ribbed, definitely for the female partner's heightened pleasure. They are not expensive (£24.95 for 36 - should be enough for the weekend!) and you could buy from a reputable and long established supplier like Superia Supplies - now online at www.superia-supplies.com. Well that's it from me, I hope you've enjoyed my piece of indulgence. Good Night and Good Sex. ++++++++ NOTE - I have one final option for a title to this Op. "300 UP" - No, it does not indicate an orgy is about to take place - just that this is my 300th opinion posted on Dooyoo....Yippeeeeee!!

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

Choosing a condom is quite a serious decision really. Light-hearted as I try to make the matter, it can make a difference to your experience. So, whilst awaiting confirmation of hubby's new found jaffa status (after his vasectomy) we have tried and tested a fair few different condoms. Durex offer a quite extensive range of condoms. Sadly, I should add, not as extensive in the UK as in the US where they have added Intense Sensation to their range (the equivalent of Intensity by Mates), but nonetheless they do cover a fair few options. The Durex website has a Condom Selector, which works by asking a few simple questions about what is important to you when choosing a condom, and it then aims to match you up with a condom meeting your requirements. If your emphasis is on fun, you’ll be pointed towards Durex Select, and Durex Ribbed. Durex Ribbed are coral coloured (that's the offical stance from Durex btw, I'd say pale pink myself), straight walled, teat ended condoms. The difference from a basic condom is the addition of a section of ribbing (running width ways) which covers about half the length of the condom itself. These extra bands of latex are built in to create a raised surface and supposedly offer enhanced pleasure. So, what will you expect and what will you actually get? There’s quite a difference sadly. If you were to believe everything the manufacturers told you, you’d be forgiven for thinking these little packs of latex would add spice to your sex life by means of heightened pleasure. Wrong! Quite frankly, I’ve seen more tread on a bald tyre and how anyone can claim these ribbed condoms could add to pleasure is beyond me! The ribbing is barely detectable to the conventional method of touch (fingers, that is) so without going into graphic detail lets just say you don’t notice a difference during sex. As a condom in general, Durex Ribbed are a reliable type to try. They’re easy to put on, stay in place well, and I‘m informed they are comfortable to wear (perhaps comfortable is the wrong word? Not uncomfortable might be a better way of putting it). Just lightly coated with a non spermicidal lubricant, oral activity is not unpleasant but neither is it really recommended - there's that slight chance of your teeth picking up on the ribbed surface (even if the rest of your body doesn’t) and this could cause damage to the condom. As long as you don’t have an allergy to latex, these condoms are a satisfactory choice. Just don’t expect the ribbing to provide you with an earth moving and mind-blowing experience. Look to your partner for that side of things. Available from the Durex.com website (UK page) at £9.99 for 12, or Pharmacy2u.co.uk at £7.00 for 12, you’d need to place a bulk order to avoid additional p&p charges, so it’s probably best to try a pack of 3 which retail at around £2.69 in supermarkets.

                        Disadvantages

I don't like condoms anyway because they are passion killers, but I really don't like these. I found that the condoms themselves are quite well designed in that any part of a condom that's ribbed is less sensitive for the man and Durex have had a good idea in putting the ribbed bit at the base only, leaving the tip smooth. Good idea. But, as a woman, I don't notice any difference, and I feel that if you're with someone you love you shouldn't have to use such gimmicks to enjoy yourself. I also like condoms that are spermicidically lubricated, and sadly, these aren't. So I wouldn't use them without being on the pill. It's like an admission that sex with your partner isn't that good, and you need something else to enjoy yourself. I wouldn't go there again.
