I love the taste of cherries/cherry flavoured things. So of course when I saw this lube, I had to purchase it!
The packaging itself is the usual Durex design, not exactly quality and expensive looking but fine for personal use.
Being so excited about the flavour, I put some on my finger to taste it. The first thing I noticed before even bringing my finger near to my face was the smell.
I very nearly gagged, I can't even begin to explain it.
It's like a combination of something sickly, sweet and chinese that has been left on the table for a few days.
Unfortunately I couldn't decide which was worse, the smell or the taste.
There is nothing remotely cherry flavoured about this.
Hoping it was just me, I introduced this to my boyfriend at the time. From the look of disgust on his face he felt exactly the same as I did.
We then tried to use a bit of this as lube, and it's horrible. It's slimy, disgusting and the smell the entire time was overpowering and making me feel sick.
I chucked the pretty much full bottle of this out because even afterwards the smell seemed to linger everywhere and make me want to be sick.
This product does not work as a flavoured lube as it is disgusting, and it doesn't work as a lube as it feels nasty.
Better off looking elsewhere.
Lets get one thing straight, ive eaten all kinds of cherries, fresh cherries, tinne cherries, glacie cherries, cherry juice, cherry sweets, you name it i've eaten it. This does NOT taste like cherry. i would perhaps more describe the taste as nail varnish or perfume. I first got this because both me and my boyfriend have some sexual trouble with the taste of certain body parts, so i decided cherry was a fair compramise, neither one of us can stand the taste and yet we both love anything cherry related.
Moving away from the taste, as a lube it works great, just as all Durex items they're safe, affordable and well made.
From a personal point of view, if it doesn't do what its supposed to (the cherry) then there is no reason to buy this product above any other lube. If you're looking for cherry, look elsewhere, if youre looking for just a lube, then this is the one for you.
I had a little extra Christmas cash to splash and thought I'd grab me and the boyfriend a few treats off the lovehoney website, they had a sale on and how could I resist! I popped this in my online basket. It was just £3.99 for 50ml. I've never bought lube before but this seemed a good price to me.
It comes in a red patterned bottle with the well known durex brand on the front along with a picture of some cherries and the flavour "very cherry" printed on there. The ingredients are all listed on the back.
On opening I decided to squirt a little on my finger to check the taste, better to do that I thought than to find out on use that I hate the flavour. I'm so glad I used this technique!
To use you have to twist the lid (a pump) a few times (I believe a safety catch was on) then pump. You will need to pump it a few times to get some out for the first time.
Taste wise I found it vile. I like cherries, cherry sweets, cherry flavoured lollipops but this was horrible. It reminded me a lot of the taste of those lollipops you used to get that had stickers or transfer tattoos inside and you had to lick your way to them. As a kid a few times I bought these wanting the coveted treasure inside but never could handle the taste to get to it! Not only is the taste horrible but after licking it off my finger and gagging I then had an aftertaste which was almost as bad as the initial lick. I cant tell you my boyfriends view on its taste as after seeing my face after trying it he refused to try (coward!).
So safe to say the lube wont be used for its flavour!
The consistency of the lube is quite nice, it doesnt run off your fingers (or bits and bobs!) straight away but isnt particularly thick either. Its also not sticky which I wouldn't of liked.
The lube is suitable for use with condoms (or without) and also sex toys. Its definitly a fun addition to sex with your partner but due to the taste I could of had just as much fun with an unflavoured lubricant.
There are alot of lubricants on the adult market and I love popping in to ann summers to see whats new and what I haven't tried out yet.
Durex do a decent range of lube and I have tried most of them with my partner.
I bought the very cherry lubricant from ann summers and paid around £5 for a 50ml bottle.
Its easy to get hold of durex play very cherry lube and boots are currently selling it for £3.99 so its worth looking around for a good price.
The lube comes in a plastic bottle with a pump top and plastic cap. The bottle is covered in a plastic wrapping which you tear along the perforation to be able to take the lid off. Its a bright red design with the durex logo and very cherry name with an illustration of cherries. The ingredients are on the back.
The pump presses down easily although it takes a few times to get the product pumping through initially. The lube is a water soluable lubricant and feels silky smooth on the skin and I didn't find it as sticky as some other brands of lube. The lube has a strong cherry scent and it tastes like really sweet cherry sweets even though the lube is sugar free, no calorie guilt is definitely a plus. I do find the taste quite sickly so when using for oral sex it does tend to make me gage a little but if you like really sweet flavours its fine. It definitely tastes better than I thought it would it doesn't taste at all lube like.
The lube has a good consistence its not too thick but it doesn't run off your hand either.
The lubricant is suitable for use with condoms and vibrators although personally its more of a fun addition to sex with a partner. I enjoyed using something different and as flavoured lube goes its pretty good, it certainly makes things more slippery and sweet!
One down side I have found is with the pump as it does tend to stop working after a while even if there is still product left which is pretty frustrating.
Overall its pretty good it does what lube should and has the fun flavour factor too. Its not a product we use on a regular basis its something fun we use every now and again.
I bought this product just for a bit of fun for me and my partner, I chose the cherry flavour as I love the taste of cherrys. This product on the other hand, tasted nothing like cherrys, it had a sweet taste but it wasn't nice. The smell wasn't particulaly nice either. My partner wasn't impressed either.
The lubricant itself is a clear substance and is very effective, does the job. It can be a fun purchase to spice things up, i will deffinatly try a different flavour in the future. It's easy to use, pump application. You only need a little bit of this, I'd say just one press of the pump, so it's great value for money as it lasts a very long time.
It costs about £4 to buy and can be purchased from most stores such as Boots, Superdrug and Savers.
I think this is a really fun product and you should give it a go, but for me I will be buying a different flavour.

As you've probably guessed, this is a cherry flavoured lube! It's made by Durex and is one of the products in there 'Play' range. I'm sure most people will know what a lube is used for, but to briefly explain, it's used to make sexual intercourse much more comfortable, with it easing any dryness. I don't have a problem with discomfort during sex, but as me and my boyfriend are always experimenting with new lubes, condoms and toys, i thought this would be a fun product to try out. I first heard about it after a friend told me about it, and even went as far as saying it was so tasty she'd eat it as a snack! I was impressed, because most of the flavoured lubes i've tried in the past have tasted like splenda flavoured hair gel.
I typed the product name - Durex Play Very Cherry Intimate Lube in to google and did a bit of research, to make sure it'd be something i'd actually use and not just shove in the draw. I also wanted to check that it was water based. I was impressed upon reading as it explained how it is indeed water based, can be easily washed off and can be used for vaginal, anal and oral sex. I purchased a 50ml bottle from my local Lloyd's Pharmacy for a reasonable £4 and brought it home to have a play with!
The design of the pump bottle is really girly and to imagine a man buying this (even though it's as much of a mans product as a womens product), is quite odd. It's bright pink with the durex logo and it's clear that it's a product in the 'Play' range as this is stated below the durex logo. It has a picture of cherries above the font stating that it's 'Verry Cherry' flavour.
Opening the pump was easily achieved by simply twisting it, as instructed on the back of the bottle. I then squeezed out a 10p size blob and massaged on my hands to ensure it was nice and warm, and applied it onto my boyfriend. Without been too graphic, my boyfriend throroughly enjoyed it and said that it didn't burn, or cause him any kind of discomort. The taste of the lube was a strong, sweet flavour, and it was definetly obvious that the flavour was cherry. At first i'll admit i enjoyed the taste, but after a while it became sickly and a bit too overpowering, so we washed it off. I was happy with the fact that it did what it said though, unlike other products, and did infact make things alot more fun and tasty! Using the lube as an actual lube, and not a novelty oral sex toy, was great and it provided plenty of moisture and warmed up well. I applied a large blob to a ribbed condom and it didn't rub off or become blobbed up on one part of the condom either. It wasn't sloppy or runny and had a thick consistency. Washing it off the skin was nice and easy and it left no stickiness, and me and my boyfriend both felt no discomfort or soreness.
Overall, i'd reccomend it. It smells and tastes of cherries just as claimed so there's no false claims on Durex's part. It's really fun to use and pretty tasty, it states on the bottle that it's sugar free, but it's definetly extremely sweet and can be a bit too much and ruin the mood because of the overpoweringly cherry sugary taste, however if you like that sort of thing then this is the product for you! It's not too expensive as long as it's a once in a while kind of product, as at £4 for 50ml, it'd soon get expensive if you took a liking to it and used it every few days! Acts well as a lube, doesn't contain spermicide nor does it act as a contreception (obvious to most but thought i'd make that fact very clear!)
If you decide to buy this product and either you or your partner feel any discomfort, such as itchiness, then it's best to wash it straight off and not use it again. Saying that though, i have very sensetive skin and i was fine with it.
Let the rose meet the thorn. - origin's of lubrication.
The 'lube,' is a shortened nick-name for its' original elongated three syllable birth-right - 'lubricant' - Hereon making the 'lube' a decidedly amiable product brand, than spreading the word out into an unnecessarily 'glam furore,' of 'lub-bri-cant' - We'll leave that to the French fashion arena; they're so 'gallante' at it. But the word, is not French, it comes from Roman times, when unwanted clothing were ripped up and dipped into fat to help with the mechanics of Roman cart-wheels. Its aim was to lesson friction of two objects unceremoniously pounding against each other. Whereby, one is spinning round like no tomorrow and the other motionless, moaning and vibrating every now and again, whenever contact was made. You can learn a lot about lube, by absorbing the mechanics of an oily cart-wheel, in motion. The lube is known to improve mechanical efficiency and stop the ageing factor simultaneously. Its lubricating make-up stops wear and tear whilst mechanics takes place - for example: by two moving entities, or one; depending what type of mechanics you are viewing; without lubrication the two entities have been known to combust: enough about the laws of friction and the origins of lubrication.
Note one: 'Look to see where the application of lube will aid a better performance'.
When it comes to my own mechanics the lube has been known to play its part in helping my female partner's tulip and or rose to blossom out fully; awakening them up from a cold winter, now that spring has dawned. Some will require a substantial amount of lube especially if self lube doesn't come easily so more time is need to cultivate the rose; meanwhile you can smear the lube around the areolas caressing her curvatures, or the equivalent, the male moobs. Durex's Play lube dispenser has a finger pump facility at the top, to aid intimate sensitivity, so the other hand is free to explore the female vessel, (or males) mechanics. Use the lube sparingly - Just repeating the application in one area can be very irritating for your partner, as other areas require equal attention regardless of lack of size elsewhere, apparently. This was quickly noted, by yours truly. 'No need to over-lube the tulip.'
Like all Durex products the idea delving into an oral practice, did take some getting use to. Durex's cherry flavour was distinctly not cherry in taste, perhaps more of an essence of cherry in taste, a couple of cherries may have been popped into the clear liquid for five seconds and then airlifted out, before the lube was squirted into the 50ml Body Shop styled sexy container. I found myself subconsciously pinching my nose. I was alerted again, by her lady-ship, glaring at me; apparently, screwing up the face and gingerly poking my tongue out like a lizard was very un-sexy.
Note two: 'Look as if you are enjoying the cherry taste - even when the rest of your body is repulse by it'.
Yes, the lube is eatable, although I prefer 'Anchor Squirt & Cream'; pity my pale un-exposed epidermis didn't take to dairy products - a reaction was quick and robust, but thankfully short-lived. Hence, why I tried out the eatable Durex lube; doing what it is designed and intended for. The cherry synthetic taste embedded themselves into my taste-buds, resembling unwashed squatters in a mansion's wine cellar. Whilst pleasuring my lucky lady, I couldn't help but think what Durex's head-quarter canteen food would be like. Got to be repulsive; based on their idea of what they regard as being pleasurably eatable, being in the fornication industry.
Note three: 'Think about Roman cart-wheels, to prolong the pleasure'.
I had the same sort of experience with a Durex banana flavoured condom, during my university days, whereby everyone within ten foot from me knew what I did the night before, and worse still, who with? Intimate moments, destroyed by Durex's inane taste testing team, evidently stripped of their taste-buds; metaphorically speaking, "driving around manically, on bald tires" - That's also the intention of the lube. The glistening sheen it creates exemplifies beauty and bulbous curves; simultaneously, it heightens sexual pleasure in feeling and stimulates a deeper rampant urge, just enough to make your skin tingle; maybe that was the friction. Gripping, well, I was like a baby Bambi taking its first leg buckling steps; she found it sweet and endearing.
Note four: 'Check Date - Takes three months to rid synthetic smell, before trying it again'.
Unlike several Durex experiences I had, whereby impending usage deciphers whether or not the product was 'in date' and dependant on whether I got a recipient willing to partake - 'Very Cherry' was as fresh as the tulip I had entered; date wise. It had come with a 'rabbit' I sheepishly purchased in Ann Summers. Yes, it has to be used within three months of first usage date. I assume when the expiry usage date arrives it walks out from under the bed and hurls itself into the plastic recycling bin, considering the price of a 50 ml amount for four pounds. There are also no spermicides present either; this is a birth-control gell that'll help kill off active sperm which you will find in Durex condoms, so seriously shouldn't be used as a method of contraception. Only use it in a means to heighten sexual pleasure, foreplay, or if you suffer from vaginal dryness. This is prevalent in maturing ladies who are 'more likely to lack in self lubricants' albeit, the reasoning, could be the loaf you've been stuck with for thirty five years, maybe a valid reason for dryness.
Note five: 'You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink'.
Above is an idiom, apt for my own oral experience of 'Very Cherry' - As a lubricant it works effortlessly, and I would expect it too - due to the invention longevity that lubrication has been part of our human existence. Sadly, the delicious plastic packaging graphics is more appetizing than the eatable contents. I recommend going au naturale and baby oil, it is my cheaper option instead of the corporate grandiose of Durex, and their chemically damaged tongues.©1st2thebar2011
Very cherry to the extent that it doesn't particulary taste nice lol. The lubricant its self is a clear substance and is very effective to anyone looking to spice up their sex life. It can be a fun purchase for any couple. Its easy to use... basically like a soap dispenser but it dispenses lubricant. Lubricant makes things alot more slidey so is excellent to use if things get a bit dry during sex. You only need to use a few drops to achieve the lubricated effect. The lube smells a little bit like cherries but wouldn't really say it tastes much like them!
Depending on how often you use it and how much you use it can last quite a while. It can also be used on condoms although I haven't tried that personally.
It normally costs around £4 to buy and can be purchased from most chemist like stores such as Boots & Superdrug. It's also for sale in adult shops such as Anne Summers.
I'd say its alright value for money and would recommend any couple to try using it at least once as it does provide quite a nice different slidey feeling :).

My boyfriend and I are always keen to try new things in the bedroom, flavoured lubricants included! Durex Very Cherry is one of the newer flavours in the Durex range and I was desperate to try it when I saw it on the Ann Summers website. I actually ended up picking it up from Boots last week and I don't regret it one bit!
The lubricant comes in the same 50ml pump bottle as the Durex Play Heat, Tingle and Feel lubricants. Through past experience, I've found that these pump bottles can be a bit hit or miss with whether they work or not, and we usually have to end up ripping the plastic off of the bottle to unscrew the top as the pump fails to work. Surprisingly, the bottle of cherry lubricant that we are currently using seems to have a working pump but I figured it couldn't hurt to throw out a warning that the pump may not work every time.
The bottle itself is a lovely cherry red colour with images of cherries all over it. I find that it looks a bit childish (although this product is certainly not for children!) and would prefer a more subtle design on the bottle, but that's just me being picky. The back of bottle tells you that the lubricant is suitable for oral, vaginal and anal sex and can be used with all Durex condoms with no issues. It also points out that it is sugar free and contains no nutritional value so those of you on a diet (like me!) don't have to worry about consuming too much of it.
The lubricant inside is clear in colour and has a silky gel-like consistency, similar to most lubricants on the market. As soon as you pump some out of the bottle, the sweet aroma of cherries is highly noticeable and if you weren't in the mood for a bit of fun already, then you will be after smelling this! Of course like any fruit flavoured product, this doesn't smell or taste like genuine cherries, but tastes more like a sweeter version of Cherry Chapstick (my first thought was that it tasted exactly like a cocktail I'd had at TGI Fridays, but the name of it has slipped my mind). Due to this being a new flavour for us, we didn't want to just go straight for it and find out that it was disgusting, so my boyfriend pumped a little onto his finger for me to lick off to get the initial taste. Delicious! It was sweet, fruity and didn't feel too slimy in my mouth - what were we waiting for?
We decided to use two pumps of the lubricant for my boyfriend's penis, but we found that a little goes a long way in terms of oral sex and the flavour that comes from this lubricant, so in future will only be using one pump. I'm happy to be able to report that the flavour doesn't disappear as soon as it comes into contact with your mouth, but actually stayed around for the whole time making the whole experience that little bit more pleasurable. Since using this lubricant, oral sex has become a much more regular part of our sex life and I sometimes practically have to beg him to let me perform oral sex on him - he has no complaints!
My only concern with this lubricant is that it doesn't say anything about tingling or warming on the bottle, but my boyfriend did experience a little warming sensation (stronger than the warming sensation that would naturally occur) and by the end of it, the tip of my tongue had gone a little tingly and numb. This wasn't really an issue for us, but it would have been useful for Durex to say that this could happen on the bottle.
The bottle does however state that the lubricant is non-sticky. It lied. It really did lie. This lubricant is only really suitable for use if you have access to a shower or somewhere to clean up directly afterwards - unless you like the tacky, glue-like feeling you'll be left with on your skin.
The 50ml bottle will cost you £4 from Ann Summers and £4.16 from Boots, I believe. Considering only one pump of this is needed at a time, I think the bottle will last a decent length of time, but that all depends on how often you decide to use it!
Overall, the stickiness of the product really makes no difference to how much I love this product. The taste is delicious, the consistency is perfect, it is cheap as chips and it the new excitement that comes from the different flavours is great! Highly recommended.
Thanks for reading!
This is a lubricant from Durex, which is (surprisingly enough) flavoured like cherry. The website (http://www.durex.com/en-GB/Pages/default.aspx) claims that: "Play Very Cherry feels smooth, tastes sweet and is deliciously fruity. Use it wherever you like, whenever you like. And because it's totally sugar free, it's one pleasure that's also guilt free - so use as much as you like! It's water Soluble and safe to use with condoms and vibrators." This product retails at around £2.99 from Boots, Superdrug and many supermarkets nationwide.
Firstly, it does actually taste nice. Sort of like a more chemical version of cherry drops, it definitely has a very strong cherry taste. I was quite pleased when I tried a little bit after buying it. It's also in a reasonable-sized bottle for a good price, and the packaging is pretty. As said above, it's sugar free (so no weight gain, wooo!) and water soluble so it can safely be used with condoms, and easily washed away with no oily stickiness left behind. It also does the job as a lube pretty well!
When you actually use it properly, it's disgusting. Very sweet, very strong and very heavily scented. It made me gag - a lot. It's also extremely sticky, and although it washes off easily it doesn't match the 'Feel' version for smoothness. Maybe this is just me though - it's seemed to get reasonably good reviews. Anyone want to buy a slightly used bottle off me? ... Thought not.
I bought this a while back from Boots, simply because they had a big display with it and it looked fun.
It is in a pump action bottle which is very clean, no mess like can happen with the tubed lubes.
After buying it I came home and tasted the lube, weird I know but I wasn't gonna see my boyfriend for another 2 weeks and I was curious. It tastes great considering it is sugar free, there isn't even a hint of that 'lubey' taste. If I had to compare the taste to anything then i'd say it's similar to that of a cherry flavoured lipbalm/lipgloss but not as heavy and greasy.
The lube itself is similar to most, definitely the rule of 'less is more' applies here, otherwise you're just gonna make a gooey mess. One to two pumps is definitely enough to keep you going for a while, you can always top up as you need go along.
Also I didn't have any sensitivity with this product as I've had with some lubes and stinging/slight irritation.
The only possible downside I have to this is that it smells very cherry-ish...which sometimes gets me paranoid if I've not had time to shower, I think omg can people smell the cherry-ness :p But that's just me being dramatic and I'm sure it's not the case.
So, go knock yourselves out and havea cherry-ing good time :)
This lube is wonderful! It smells delicious and whats more, tases absolutely divine! My boyfriend and i decided to invest in a packet of this after a recommendation from a friend and have not looked back since! It comes in packaging small enough to hide away from people snooping around, yet with a more than ample amount of lube for a good few nights in! There is a pump that you press down to release the lube, and you can then twist the pump to lock it safe from any unexpected spillages!
I find this very easy to use, and the lockable lid makes it easy to use and then throw off the bed! My one concern with this product, however, is that it can be quite sticky and i would not recommed digesting too much of it as the sweet taste becomes sickly after a while! All of that is quite foreseeable though i guess. All in all, a good buy!
I have tried a few different flavoured lubes and this is one of my favourite.
Since it is durex it is quite expensive at around £4 a bottle, but to be fair it does last a long time. The bottle is packaged really nicely, and is easy to use. You just pump the top and it comes out. I find when it stops working, it doesnt necessarily mean there is none left, you can just unscrew the top and you can still get quite a lot out of it.
If you have ever tasted any of the unflavoured lubes you'll know they really arent nice so its definately worth getting a nice flavoured one so the taste doesnt put you off.
I'd say the cherry lube tastes really nice, and its not like cherry flavoured things usually are, but kinda tastes like cherry drops.
Also, I find some lube I have tried gets really sticky and horrible and I dont think this one is really like that. It makes everything slide as its meant to,without making everything feel sticky and horrible.
The bottle is worth it as it does last quite a long time, even if you use it everytime you have sex. Even if you dont use it all the time,I think sometimes having some extra lube occassionally can make things better for both parties.
I would definately try this, but it tastes VERY sweet so if you dont like that type of thing it might not be for you.
Durex Play Very Cherry Intimate Lube,
Greaaatttttt product, i originally found this product when i bought one of the durex play boxes which comes with about 10 different sachets inside each containing all different samples of the lube that durex sells.
All of the lubes were great and i had a shed load of fun playing with them ;) but this one stuck out the most to me because of how tasty it is !!!
Ive tried loads of different tasting lubes from various shops including ann summers own brand and a few others, but this one tastes the best by far.
I don't even no how they made it taste so good because its sugar free! so now you can have good tasting sex with out worrying about your teeth ( Because that is what is on your mind when your having sex lol)
Its about £4 a bottle and you can buy it more ore less everywere these days from boots to tescos,
Give it a go
