Not Very Nice. Stick With Your Sandwich

Some days you just don't fancy a sandwich, and I have to say that this actually looked quite a tasty alternative. So I purchased this as part of a meal deal from Tesco, with a drink and a packet of crisps for £2.00. A change is as good as a rest and all that.

I found the pasta itself really soft and over cooked. It is covered with plenty of sauce that has a tomato and herb flavour but is really gloopy and has a rather unpleasant aftertaste. Even worse than that, the sausage is very cheap and nasty, with the only saving grace being that there wasn't much of it! Oh how I enjoyed trying to eat around the gristly slithers, which proved almost impossible as it was well mixed in and I was also wrestling with the folding spork that had been attached to the top of the packaging, which really didn't seem suitable for the job.

The pasta itself was reasonably filling, but it was just too much bother trying to avoid the sausage so in the end I threw away about a third of the container, so really I'd have been better off sticking with the boring old sandwich. At 540 calories in this 300g pot, it's far from a healthy option either. Unless you take into consideration that it will probably put you off eating for the rest of the day!

All in all this left a bad taste in the mouth (no, really it did!). I wouldn't recommend it, so don't be tempted. It might look tasty but it sure isn't.

        I'll Never Buy This Again!

I had one of these Sausage & Tomato Pasta pots from Tesco the other day because I'm getting bored of their sandwiches but always get a bit hungry when I'm going the shopping. It was on offer this week and cost £1.50 a pot.

I wasn't very impressed with it though, even though the pasta has been cooked nice and has got a good texture the sauce is rank and there isn't much sausage mixed in. I counted about 10 mega thin slices of sausage and it's proper cheap gristly stuff, there's hardly any taste to it and if you got a piece that come with a lot of sauce on it then you won't be able to taste the sausage at all. It's also got a soft texture that makes the sausage feel majorly fake as you're chewing it.

Like I said the pasta is cooked good. It's a curly tube and collects the sauce, that would be brill news if the sauce was any good but it's disgusting so the less the better! It's a weird texture and is thick and sticky, it tastes of tomatoes but not fresh ones and I think it's got a bit of a powdery taste as well as you swallow it.

The sauce has got a bit of a herb taste as well but it's very overdone and made me feel a bit pukey after a few mouth fulls. It's like Tesco have done a kind of half decent cold pasta and then spoiled it by trying to make it taste more Italian or something but in a bad way because it doesn't taste like they know what they're doing! lol

I only ate half of it and gave the rest to my 2 year old sister, she ate it because I think it made her feel grown up eating the pasta out of the pot but I kept thinking to myself that I didn't think she was enjoying it really.

Not recommended.... nice cooked pasta but a crappy sauce and disgusting sausage. Forget it!!!

I bought this as it was part of a meal deal - if you buy a sandwich or pasta pot, a drink and a packet of crisps you get it all for £2, when I got to the till though it came to £1.70, very odd. It is normally £1.40.

There are only a few slices of thin tasteless sausage in the so called sausage and pasta snack, the sauce was thick and tasty pretty horrible. There was a decent amount of pasta which was a nice consistency. Although the sauce was not to my taste at all (obviously), the one thing this does have going for it is that it is quite filling. The tub suggests trying it hot, which may have improved it.

The tub comes with a re-sealable lid and comes with a folding pastic fork, which I found far too flimsy to use properly so I used a real fork, this might be possible if you are eating on the go however.

The plastic tub contains 300g and comes in at 540 calories, so it is not tasty or healthy. Avoid this.

I would definately NOT buy this again and wouldnt recommend it.
