      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Simple to carry around and use to clean the TV, laptop and smartphone screens.

There are times when I'm out and about using my laptop somewhere and I've suddenly noticed that my screen was full of dust and finger marks. In the past, I used to try and get away with just wiping it down with a slightly damped tissue, but that often left smears, which in some office lighting or daylight just made it worse. Then we had a delivery in the office of a few boxes of these AF Screen-Clene Duo wipes, and I thought these might be the answer to my prayers. Not sure how much the company paid for them because they were part of a larger stationary order, but on Amazon, they currently retail for about £4, where you get a box containing 20 packets of these AF Screen Clene Duo wipes. Now the clue is in the title - Duo, meaning 2, because in each little packet, you get 2 wipes - one for wiping on and one for wiping off (Wax on, wax off from Karate Kid springs to mind for some reason???) but it is a little bit more scientific that just that. Each cloth is a sort of micro fibre material, so soft enough not too scratch your screen, but just abrasive enough to remove any dirt. With the first cloth, you have some assistance in the form of a cleaning fluid that has been impregnated on to the cloth, a little bit like window cleaning fluid that you would buy in a supermarket. The idea is that you open out the cloth and wipe down whatever screen you want to clean, be it your laptop, TV or smartphone screen (it works equally well on all 3 - I've tried!!). The cloth is not dripping wet with the fluid, but more just moderately damped, and hence the combination of using the micro fibre cloth with the impregnated cleaning fluid is sufficient enough to remove pretty much all dirt and smears from your screen. Once you have done that, you then get out cloth 2, which is a dry cloth. By the time that you do this, most of the cleaning fluid has already evaporated from your screen, and hence, you use this dry cloth to just polish your screen to a nice streak free shine. When you've finished, you just through both clothes away in the bin. So a very simple process overall and hence, the wipe on and wipe off bit I mentioned before. Of note, what was also particularly attractive about the individual packets were that they were small enough to put into your jacket or trouser pocket, or in your handbag without be too bulky. Hence, they were very easy to carry around with you to have them readily available when required. Negative points? Well they are just a one use only item, in that you use them once to clean your screen and then throw them away. For a time I did try to reseal them in the packet to try and save them for a second or third use at screen cleaning to try and get better value for my money. However, the problem was that the cleaning fluid just dried out over time, leaving you with just 2 dry cloths, and hence, your streak free cleaning process was slightly thwarted when you came to use them again. Another point which perhaps is more how you use them rather than what they do is when you come to clean your screen with the damp cloth. Most people would just wipe the screen back and forth, up and down and round and round. But if your screen is particularly dirty or dusty, you just end up with dirt streaks across your screen which you then have to tackle again. What I've found useful is to just wipe the screen from one side to the other, say left to right, in horizontal strips working down the screen. Then I finish off by wiping down the right hand side of the screen where all the dirt has been collected during the previous wipes. This process then tends to leave the screen a lot cleaner after using the first cloth. In summary, this is a particularly effective cleaning process for you screen, such as a TV, computer or smartphone, and the process does achieve very good results. But that one use only bit is a little bit of a flaw, and hence, can get a little bit expensive if you really want to keep your screen very clean. So overall, I would give this 5 stars for the cleaning performance, but when you bring in that one use issue, I think it comes down to only 4 stars overall.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        An average product

If you have read a previous review of mine on the AF Screen Clean wipe, then you will know how I recommend that product to a high degree. Well this is pretty much the same concept, but with a little improvement, or the manufacturer thought it was. This the Duo version of the Screen Clean, and the concept is as follows; two wipes included, one that initally wets the screen, and the other to dry it. The first wipe has a santitiser on it which cleans the screen perfectly, however, I have come to find that the second drying wipe is completely redundant as there is no need for it. The screen can dry all on its own, without the need of having to use the drying wipe, so in my opinion, I dont see the need of including it in this product. To be honest, there isnt much different in the way I used this product and the AF Screen Clean, as I didnt use the drying wipe. It might sound like a trival problem, but when you are paying more money for this product, I would expect to see some sort of improvement on any other items of the same idea. In this case there isnt. I would recommend the simpler AF Screen Clean, but not this Duo product. Thanks for reading.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Not the shining light of the AF range of cleaning solutions.

I have tried a number of Automated facilities' products in the past and I must admite I have tried various screen cleaners previous to these also! You could be forgiven for thinking I am paranoid with keeping my laptop screen clean but I just like to keep my work area clean and tidy as I spend a lot of time at it through the day and evenings. The box I recieved through the post was the typical AF branding with their logo in the bottom right corner of the box in a blue triangle on a silver box covered in blue text with the product information on the front. The dispensing box they are supplied in is ideal for attaching to the side of your screen at work, or just for having easy access to at your desk. The wipes are suitable for all types of coated glass and polarising filters. There is never any mistaking an AF product and at £5 for a box of 20 of their 'Screen-Clene Duo' wipes I had high hopes for this cleaning system! The Screen-Clene Duo from AF comes as a pack of twenty sets of individually wrapped cleaning wipes. Each 'Duo' comes attached as a wet wipe and a dry wipe. The first cloth you use to clean the screen with is meant to be soaked in an alcohol fluid which is said to easily lift dirt from the surface of the screen, before you use the second dry cloth to dry the surface thus leaving a streak-free finish to the desired area. The first thing that became apparent to me was that the 'wet' cloth wasn't really wet enough. It would have been better described as damp because when wiping across the laptop screen surface it left me going back over areas I had missed, although the amount of dirt on the cloth itself was surprising. The second cloth was therefore useless because there wasn't anything to dry! In terms of effectiveness I would say it was very good at what it was meant to do - clean. I did feel though that the whole 'Screen-Clene Duo' wording was a bit misleading as ultimately it is just a one wipe system. In the future I won't be paying £5 again for this cleaning system as there are products out there that are not just better, they are also better value for money.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

if you cant find a wet wipe or a kfc wipe, use this, its not fantastic but it safe to use.

Ok, while this is a neat idea: a cleaning system for LCD screesn: two wipes in an application, one , labelled with a "1" is for wetting the sceen, the second, labeled "2" is for drying the screen, the first is soaked in a cleaning solution, the second is bone dry. What the designers didnt seem to understand is that if you add alcohol in your product, it will dry of its own accord. I have tried this numerious times, ripped and prepared each wipe so there was no space between useing one to the other, but nope, the screen still dried even before I had a chance to put down the first wipe, the second wipe is just useless, it has absolutly no effect when wiping over the cleaned screen as it is already dry! if anything, I would be worried its going to scratch the screen. The first (the wet) wipe itself still seems too dry to do a good job with one screen, and you may need tow wipes if there is something your trying to get off the screen: eg finger prints or dust. This is annoying as the wipes are not free, and you only get 10 in a pack. It can clean to some extent, but either needs to be wetter, larger of cheaper.
