      good fun for the garden.

This set is a nice take on the traditional childhood game of bubble blowing, linking in nicely to the Toy Story 3 franchise.

This set was given to my kids as a stocking filler present in 2010. The cost of this set was £5 from the shop I bought it from in a local village, and is on amazon for a cost of £7.89. This is perhaps starting to get to a steep price, but it is a lovely little set.

You get a figure of Buzz Lightyear. On his feet are rings that you see in traditional bubble wands. There are holes in Buzz's feet, and there is also a hole in the back of Buzz's body. There is then a pipe which you can put into the back of Buzz to blow into.

The set comes with a small circular dish big enough for Buzz to stand in, and a bottle of about 250ml of bubble mix. To work the toy, stand Buzz in the mix so his feet have mixture on, then blow through the pipe, and a stream of bubbles comes out of his feet.

This set has an age guidance of 5 years on it. I guess by then you are more sure that your child will blow into the toy, rather than suck on the straw and end up with a mouth full of bubble mix. I was happy to give it to my two when the youngest was almost 3, as long as he was shown how to play with the mix and supervised while playing on it.

I really like this set. I think it is a novel way of doing an old game. Then, when you aren't playing with the bubbles, this is quite a sturdily made figure that you can play with. It is a hard plastic, with no moving parts or anything exciting like that, but my boys have had a lot of fun using these figures which are about 15cm/6 inches in height. I have even bought them as presents for other children when we go to birthday parties.
