“ Brand: Argos / Type: Water Toys „
Last year when the weather was nicer we set of to Argos to find a pool for our children. We had originally picked a different Chad valley pool, but when we ordered it we were told we may receive a substitution which was this one. I was very happy with it as it is a lot more appealing on the eye than the plain blue one we were thinking of purchasing. This pool has attractive animals printed all around it in bright colours which my children thought was amazing. While it appeals to younger children with the design it is large enough for older children or even an adult to sit in, so I would not say it limits it at all.
The instructions stat that it only takes five minutes to inflate and then another 5 to fill. I have to disagree with this. Even with an electric pump it took close to ten minutes to inflate and then another 10 to fill. This was with the pool only half full too as it was being used for young children so it would take longer if you try to fill it a little more. Personally I would not try to blow this up manually as suggested it is just too big and you would be there all day.
We have found it is a fantastic size to splash around in and very deceiving when looking at it. All three of my eldest children can comfortably play inside at the same time. It was deeper than I expected with high walls, and I was worried about my children jumping over and hurting themselves, or ruining the pool by leaning on the sides. They found it easy to get in and out and despite constant strain and pressure of my crazy children bouncing all over the place it is very robust. As it is a larger paddling pool I would advise you check you have a big enough space in the garden. We have recently moved house and while we had a large garden in the previous house we do find it difficult to find room in our new smaller garden.
The high sides also mean that the water is contained inside the pool even with children playing inside, so it prevents spillages and waste. This reduces the amount of water you need to use filling it back up which is always great. It is big enough for my children to lie down in, and even though they could not swim in it there is enough room for them to happily splash about. Of course my children badgered me into joining the fun with them, and again I was able to sit down comfortably while my children played. Even with me being inside the pool they were able to play comfortably which means it is perfect for all the family to join in.
My one downside would be that you can only fill it to just above half way. On occasions we have tried to fill it higher I found that the pool would tilt to one side and start to bend under pressure. I was surprised at it seemed very well made and even with three children jumping in and out the water stayed contained. This is not a big deal as even full half way it is perfect for use in the garden on a summer day, and still deeper than any other paddling pools we have owned.
I love that this pool actually has a plug in it to release the water easily. The plug cannot be pulled out by younger children, but it saves wrestling with the pool to empty and deflate it when the day is done. Once drained then you simply undo the air plug and wait for it to deflate. This takes a while and I find once its half empty you can ease the rest of the air out by rolling the pool up. No matter what we tried it would not fit back into the box so you will need to have space to store it without it being in the box. It does come with a repair kit in case of a puncture, but fortunately we have never needed to use this.
I would recommend this pool to anyone looking for something for the children to cool down in for the summer. While my children are still very young, I do believe it would be perfect for children up to around eight or nine. There is more than enough room for a number of children to play around and relax on a summer day. It has lasted well and despite the storage issue, we have found it to be perfect for our family. Retail price of this pool is around £35, but we received ours for half this price and it always seems to be on offer at Argos.
When the sun came out 3 weeks ago off I headed to go and buy my boys a paddling pool, argos for me was the obivous place for me to go and the Sarfari animal pool was the one I chose.
On offer at £14.99 saving £5.00 it was even better, I wanted something not to big so it wouldnt take a life time to fill, this pool is also a very nice shape and I was rather shocked at how big is was when it was blown up. I used an electric pump to blow the sides up, another reason I bought this pool was that it looked chunky round the sides my youngest son is only 1 and I wanted to make sure he couldnt fall out. It blew up in 2 sections the safari animal print really sets the pool off nice its very colourful and eye catching on a hot day.
According to the box it takes 563 litres of water in english using the hose it took around 15-20 minutes and it was ready to use. When we came to empty it, it does have a plug on the bottom to take out and relise the water but we just lifted it so it went straight down the drain with no soggy grass.
Looking at the doo yoo description on the top of my page it is saying its for 6 years plus, the box im looking at is 3 years plus and it is exactly the same size pool with the same print on.
In conclusion I was very happy with this purchase, excellent value for the size pool and very bright and eye catching
I brought this pool for my two children a few months ago (when the weather was actually hot) We had a paddling pool previous to this but it was rubbish. To be honest this one wasnt our first choice but they had sold out of the one we wanted. Anyway this pool is huge, didnt really take note of the measurements and just brought it. It has a fun animal design on it and its easy to put up although we brought a battery powered pump to use with it, took around half an hour to put up and proberbly the same to put down. As its so big it does also take a while to fill. It says suitable for ages 6 and over however my children are under 4. Im not saying you should buy this for under 6 as it obviously says that for a reason, but my children were supervised at all times and as the pool is so big i often got in it with them! Its a perfect family pool for those on a budget, think i paid around £20 for it from argos.
564 litre water capacity. Suitable for ages 6 years+.
