I just love victorinox products. They are quite literally quality through and through. I have paring knives in the kitchen but the best product i own is this. It sits on my keyring and i probably use atleast once a week if not more. It was a present and i have had it for 3+ years and it is in just a s good shap as when i got it! The size its at just under 60mm long and it has everything you need for keyring knife. The blade has remained sharp throughout and is not bent and i have tried (not on purpose) and the scissors too reamin sharp (and they are that well deigned that the two scissor blades blades remain very close together which increases the cutting sharpness. They do not rust and i don't think they ever will. The file is not something i really use but it does do a good job on nails as an emergency and it has the screw diver end as well which is useful although it does not offer enough leverage due to its smal size and small leverarm on really tight screws. The chassis is robust and unlike the plastic ones it does not scratch as much. Mine is silver and the colour has remained the same. Not sure if the coloured ones will be the same but i have reason to think that they would.
I have got my Victorinox Classic Swiss Army knife in 2005 while I was travelling to Switzerland. I have been using it since then and it is still in good shape now. Victorinox is famous for its various types of army knife and the one I got is listed under the category of small and elegant pocket tools. I cannot agree more with this statement, it is small (58mm according to the official website). The main reason that I bought this gadget is basically a souvenir so I have just opted for the most basic one (which is also the cheapest). The Victorinox Class Swiss Army Life has the following items: - blade - nailfile with nail cleaner - scissors - key ring - tweezers - toothpick The look I think that most of us are already familiar with how a Victoronix swiss army knife look like. In case if you don't, the above photo will let you have a feel of how it looks like. It is quite small and has the length and weight similar to a key. It is small enough to be carried as a key ring. In fact, it has a small metal ring for you to hold the other keys. The metallic look is simple and stylish. It also looks elegant enough to go with any business outwear and yet smart enough to go with outdoor wear too! Put it simply, it goes well with everything! The use As listed above, there are quite a few items included in this army knife. I would say that they are all something that you would not normally use but they will come in handy when you are travelling. Maybe I can list out how I use the items in the past: Blade: I used it to cut fruits / cake when I can't find a knife in the hotel room when travelling. Nailfile: My nails are quite fragile and will chip easily. I used the nailfile to smooth my nail edges, again when travelling when I did not have a nail clipper with me. Scissors: I used is to cut off the price tag of items I purchased and which I had to use immediately after purchase. I remembered a time when I felt very cold in the street and I had to purchase a jacket right away. I used the scissors to cut off the price tag and wear the jacket immediately! Key ring: I used it to tie the army knife to my keys. Tweezers: Frankly I had never used it but I guess someone would need this in an emergency case... Toothpick: I always preferred to use disposable toothpick (for hygiene reasons) so again I had not used it. A little tip It is quite convenient to have this little gadget with you when you are travelling. However, it is IMPORTANT that you put it in your check-in luggage, and NOT your hand carry bags. Knifes and alike are not allowed to be carried on plane and you will be asked to throw it away in case if you do not put it in the check-in luggage.
