Have just returned from a great value spring break at Broadland Sands. We paid an extra £20 to upgrade to a'gold' caravan and were very pleased with the result, a new, spotlessly clean caravan with cooker, fridge, shower, gas fire etc all in good working order. Biggest disappointment was the site shop which was useless. Having checked in at 4pm on our first day we unpacked then returned to stock up at the shop only to find it had closed at 4.30, so it was back into the car to stock up on essentials at the nearest Tesco. Even when the shop was open we found it severely lacking in essential items- no fresh bread or alcohol(!) so take your own groceries and don't rely on the shop. Plenty of attractions not far from the site, including Great Yarmouth. There are bus stops at the entrance with services to Yarmouth and Lowestoft, and we decided to be green and take the bus to Lowestoft. Unfortunately this proved exorbitantly expensive- £14.40 for 2 adults and 2 children for a return journey of 3 miles, added to by meandering around various housing estates. So give the greedy bus company a miss and stick to your car. Outdoor pool on the site looked very nice, although obviously not in use in early April. Kids' entertainment in the bar ran from approx 8-9pm and was pretty good. Beach was accessible via a steep path but it was covered with sea defences so not actually worth a visit. All in all this site proved a great base for exploring the area.
my family an i have just returned from broadland sands in corton near lowestoft on the 1/8/09. we rented a gold plus 6 disabled van as our daughter is wheelchair bound, our advice is if you want a happy relaxing holiday with a clean un infested caravan dont go to broadland no sands, our van was infested with earwigs on the day we arrived they got in to every thing an anything yet when we complained we were treated like dirt with no respect at all, we were moved to a spare van at gone 2 in the early hours of sunday morning, we paid for top of the range van but ended spending our week in a van not suited to our daughters needs, the manager was a disgrace with no concern at all to our fears about returning to a van which had chemicals put down inside and out and did not seem to understand when we said we did not want to move back to a van which had such chemicals every where in case it contaminated our daughters medical equipment. also there brochure states direct access to there beach but the access has been closed of for some conciderable time due to the cliffs this site sits on collapsing yet at no point during booking and paying our ballance off or even on check in day were we informed of this, the food is edible but nothing to get excited about and the pitch and putt when we stayed was not playable due to the length of the grass, this site could do with a major overall and new staff as it could make a wonderful holiday park. just to keep every one updated after sending off our complaint to broadland sands head office 4 weeks ago we have still not recieved a single letter in responce to our complaint, so we have now come to the conclusion this company does not care about there customers genuine complaints, and after all we have not once asked for a refund or compensation, just that they would make sure this did not happen to future guests and a letter of apology would of done us, so beware fellow caravaners this company is happy to take your money but does not care about your stay or complaints. ian angie from doncaster
These days as I fast approach the big four zero Id rather forget my birthday and do something for and with the kids. This year we were going to go camping for the weekend but after pricing it up, for eight of us, we found a cheaper caravan deal and to be honest the thought of a private shower and loo with the kids swung it for me! I had booked a hoseasons break earlier in the year (my Sherwood Forest review) and had thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it fantastic value for money so I re-visited their site. After an hour or so playing on the site I stumbled across this little beauty. Broadland SAnds Holiday Park Corton. Situated between Great Yarmouth and LOwestoft it was under a two hour drive for us. For the month of May (excluding the holidays at the end of May) there were numerous offers and bargains namely mine being £50 off for that particularly weekend. They also offer £10 off concessions for children under seven and Seniors! All in all this break costed in at £99 for eight people, for three nights in a three bed, two toilet Gold star van! What a bargain! Broadland Sands was easily found just under 4 miles from Lowestoft. It was well sign posted and reception were extremely helpful on our arrival. AS all electricity and gas is included there were no deposits to leave on arrival. We had an 'Gold' caravan which was 12ft-wide, with one double and two twin rooms and additional sleeping in the living arae in the form of a pull out bed.(All bedlinen and duvets were included in the price too!) There was a 'cloakroom' consisting of toilet and wasbasin and a shower room consisting of very large shower cubicle (with powerful shower) toilet and washbasin. The two loos proved invaluable in a party of eight! The kitchen was well equipped with all youd need for eight people on a self catering break and included a 5 ring gas hob, grill, oven and microwave. The living area was spacious with gas fire, tv and freeview channels. Another bonus was that ALL rooms had heating. Just beside the van was parking for two cars. So, all A OK with the accomodation, time to explore the site which included : Outdoor heated swimming pool with 45m flume and children's pool. Walled sun terrace. Club complex with live entertainment. Garden conservatory with bar and restaurant. Games Zone and snooker. Pitch and putt and crazy golf. Children's playground. Tennis courts. Children's entertainment. Themed Sports Bar with big screen Sky TV, Competitions and YES Bingo! We used just about everything I thing except the launderette and unfortunately due to the bloody British weather the pool was unable to open. We didnt let this spoil the fun though as there wwas a fantastic indoor pool just up the road in Yarmouth. The 'private beach' wasnt the most beautiful and I guess pretty dangerous for rthe younger children due to Corton being placed basically on a cliff top but with Yarmouth and Lowestoft close by it really didnt matter. For those that visit without a car there is a bus stop directly outside the complex. The evening entertainment couldnt be faulted with the guys giving it their all and definately givng the children a great and memorable time - 2 weeks later and my three year old is still doing the Macarena !! And Yes ... They sang me Happy Birthday lol !!
Self-catering holiday caravan park situated between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Tennis courts, swimming pools, golf, as well as, restaurant and laundry facilities. Everything to make your holiday a memorable one!
