I do occasionally suffer from very sensitive teeth, my hubby has the same problem and that is why I have to pay a little bit extra and get toothpaste which will help to eradicate this problem for us both. I have actually found that it has become worse the older I have got and it makes eating both very hot and very cold foods a complete nightmare, at times.
I have used Colgate toothpaste for years so I was very pleased when Tesco were selling Colgate Sensitive toothpaste on an offer of buy one and get the other one half price. I bought two and tried it out that very night.
The toothpaste itself is lovely and minty and fresh though perhaps a bit milder than I was expecting. It certainly seems to clean the teeth very well and freshens the breath and it makes my teeth feel lovely and clean.
I would not say that this sensitive toothpaste worked overnight, or even over the next few days. It was about a solid week of continuous use before we both started to notice the gradual reduction in our sensitivity to both hot and cold foods. The trick with this toothpaste is to keep on using it and not to revert back to your standard toothpaste, otherwise the sensitivity will just rear its ugly head again.
I have used other toothpastes for sensitive teeth and most of them have worked well for me too so I don’t think this one particularly stands out from the others, though I do still recommend it.
Just over the last year or so I have developed sensitive teeth, this had never been a problem before so I started to look for a sensitive toothpaste.
The first one I tried was a super market own branded one and I thought that I would try it as it was on special offer so was even better value than it was before. Although it worked at preventing my teeth feeling the sensitivity it didn't make my mouth feel as clean and fresh as what I was used to. I wondered whether this might be a problem with sensitive toothpastes but thought I would be better trying a branded one instead.
I purchased Colgate's Total Sensitive from Superdrug as they had a 3 for 2 offer on Colgate, we needed toothpaste and Colgate was a brand that I have always trusted. It came in a boxed tube and promises to effective against cavities, plaque, gum problems, sensitive teeth, tartar, staining and bad breath as well as providing 12 hour protection for a healthier mouth.
Colgate's sensitive toothpaste makes my teeth and mouth feel so much cleaner than the supermarket brand I had tried previously and does indeed have a longer lasting effect. Sometimes on leaving the house I wish I had cleaned my teeth a second time after using the cheaper one but with Colgate's I felt truly confident that my breath was fresh. I have nearly used the entire tube and I have not experienced any sensitivity whilst using this product. I will not be going back to an unbranded toothpaste.
