This company knows no shame!!! I have recorded the conversation I had and it promises me that they have 5 people interested in a car like mine and two that are really interested! nobody ever called! nobody ever will! your car is not advertised on any major web sites, in fact ALL the web sites they use are of their own making and all show only Cardata cars, just look at the really stupid names they have given to the sites, they were scrapping the barrell!!Save your money, stick it on E Bay or Auto Trader, possibly GumTree or Friday Ads BUT NEVER EVER PLACE AN ADVERT WITH CARDATA.PS I AM TAKING THIS FURTHER WITH A REPORT TO TRADING STANDARDS, THEY MAY THINK THEY CAN HIDE ON A LITTLE ISLAND BUT THEY CANNOT!!
Got several phonecalls, even though I informed them I wasn't interested from the beginning.Seriously rude woman has rang me twice, and I couldn't believe the way she was talking to me. She's said she will ring me back next week to take the money off me, but there's no way I'm paying anything for them to advertise for me, when it's not a guaranteed sale.I am moreso convinced now that I've read the reviews from this forum. They hassle you, are extremely rude and make you wanna give them a piece of your mind!
Phoned up about a vehicle matching service car wasnt selling got matched up within the week car sold much better than advertising i got matched only £130 quid and if the car wasnt sold witin 30 ays money bac guarantee what could go wrong
Got a call from a canvaser after i advertised in another media the canvasser told me they would advertise my car and would have a buyer for me within a week all sounded good they told me the fees and i decided to take the 99.50 option they offered me photos too and said i could have the car on the system until sold providing i kept renewing it every 28 days which i found out when i read the receipts I'm one of these people that reads everything i get lol any ways was on there system for a week had a few calls from people that wanted to view the car. I'm looking to sell my car now from one of there buyers, I've seen the comments here and it works for some people fortunately i rang them in the first week and they evaluated my vehicle without that i think i would have been over priced i put it up for the price i bought my car oops lol
This company should be closed down. I am surprised Watchdog have not been on to them. Has anyone reported them to Trading Standards yet? The sales team are a rude bunch of thugs! Unprofessional company full of con artists. There sales message is pure lies and unfounded facts.
My experience with this company has been absolutely dreadful.
So much so I want to warn others about them.
Like so many others, after paying the £89 registration fee, I was assured I would be "inundated with calls and people who wanted to come and view my car" " To expect calls coming in from 7 tonight" "We are so confident we will sell your vehicle we will even give you a free holiday if you haven't shifted it by the end of the week"
That was 6 weeks ago and I still have had NO PHONE CALLS.
After 1 week I tried to ring customer services - there number did not work at all.
When I finally got through I was told that their staff had changed around. That is why I had not received calls - but to expect them from 7 tonight.
2 weeks go by - still no calls. Ring again. This time "There has been a technical difficulty with our on line service - that is why you have not received calls - but expect calls from 7 tonight" STILL NO CALLS.
I ring again - I speak to a man who is blunt, rude and has no empathy or customer service at all. He says that there "has been no technical difficulties at all. And where have I got that from??" (Also saying he can see there has been 9 people interested in the car and he does not know why they have not got in touch)
He promises I will receive paper work with details of my account. Paper work about this 'illusive holiday'. That was 2 weeks ago.
NO PAPER WORK, NO HOLIDAY, NO CALLS.
Unfair company. They called me for placing an ad about my car (they got my number from another ad site). It seemed to be a good deal, since £100 single fee until I'll sell my car isn't too much. But then the problems were started: I didn't receive any invoice (they promised two times), than I realized that the fee would be only £79.99 based on their website, and I felt trimmed... Than someone called me to ask if I've got the invoice, and if anyone called me since I started the advert. ...and next week they removed another £10 from my account - for placing my ad into a magazine. Although I can't recall if we would talk about any additional fee. Finally the website can be the largest, but far the worst and not well known at all. I haven't even received any calls from buyers.
It would appear to me that buying a car from these is all well & good. I received a phone call from these after putting my car on exchange & mart, indicating they had buyers 'lined up' and wanted the £79.99 to register me & 'match up' a potential. Being sceptical I then e-mailed them asking if I could pay AFTER the car was sold, which I would be quite happy to do. How confident were they I thought? Well, they firstly didn't respond, then said that their T's & C's stipulated they need it up front. My response was: 'Very convenient. Your Terms & Conditions speak volumes to me'. Other similar companies have also contacted me along the same lines and they all backed away from payment after sale too. Remember once they have your money, they don't need to bother, why would they? Draw your own conclusion, I have....
i advertised my car in the trader and cardata phoned me 4 to 5 times telling me people are waiting to view my car, so i paid the £99 registration fee, 3 days in and ive not had one phone call.i dont know how cardata work but im hoping i get some calls soon.i will write another review in a few more days.fingers crossed
Had a very DAUNTING & DREADFUL experience dealing with cardata. I advertised my vehicle on autotrader and highlighted trade re-sellers exclusions and yet the sales people from cardata contacted me and lured me in registering with them explaining the numerous advantages, moneyback guarantees, quick sales etc.etc. I found out that these advantages were all a whopper...7 days is what they claim to sell the vehicle at the full price..Havent had even a single call yet. I called the customer services and there was a massive delay in answering the call and then i was told that there will be no refund and if i had any problems, i'll have to contact their complaints department. Felt more miserable and frustrated after the communication with them as their logic is "YOU agreed to register, dont contact us if your vehicle doesnt get sold." No one even wants to listen in their syndicate.
all i can say is read their terms and conditionshttp://www.cardata.co.uk/terms.jsppay special attention to clause7. The number of buyer enquiries registered with us is given solely as a guide for you to assess current market demand. They reflect vehicles of all types and all price ranges currently wanted by buyers registered on our system
I've been looking through the messages here and there's a lot of things that I can't make sense of.
Ok so you advertise in a paper, several of you mention Autotrader, then you get calls from other companies selling you advertising.
If you are getting a response from your advert and lots of people coming to view your car etc then why place an advert with another company. Or is it that you are not getting a response from your advert in the paper???
Then there is someone complaining that his vehicle make model isn't on their list/site/menu, surely a good thing - no competition, but I don't understand his/her assumption that it means no one would buy one through the service. There is clearly an option to register as a buyer giving the details of the vehicle you are looking for.
So if they haven't got one when they do they will advise you.
Perhaps this is all clear to others but not to me.
The Cardata website is absolutely rubbish for me. I've tried so many times to use this site but never get past the make of the car.
For instance, I was looking for a Porsche Cayenne. The search grid appeared. I found Porsche and clicked on it. It immediately went straight on to ALL Models.
It never gives the facility to click on to the model. There's no facility to select engine size, spec, mileage, age of car (unlike Autotrader)
I tried a year ago and got irritated. I sent them an E-mail but they never got back to me.
One year on, I thought I'd try my luck again but no, the same old nonsense. They still haven't done anything about it. They want me to rate the site down below. I don't want to give them ANY stars but it won't let me. Hence the 1 star. They should consider themselves fortunate with that!
For an excellent website try Autotrader. They really know what they're doing. Don't waste your time with Cardata, you'll just get irritated.
They contacted me while I was selling my car, they weren't pushy (unlike several other companies who were down right rude), I looked at their website which explains what they do and their terms and conditions - also says they record calls there.
As a friend ended up buying my car I didn't use them to sell but having been impressed with what I had seen I did register as a buyer. Its free to use and I have received lists of almost daily of vehicles that are what I am looking for. They are in my price range etc. I don't have to go and buy magazines or search the web its emailed to me.
I am going to see one this weekend providing the snow holds off, it sounds like just what I am looking for.
So all I can say is that its a great service to buy through. I haven't needed to use the finance as I sold my car first but its available via their website.
Keeping my fingers crossed that there's no snow on Sunday!
