Art.co.uk ------------- Some years ago I went into Habitat because they used to stock a wide range of really beautiful pictures on canvas, and on this occasion I was fortunate enough to find a black and white sea scape that I fell in love with. This picture still hangs in my hallway which we have recently decorated, and I decided that I would like to add to this theme of coastal scenes by searching out something similar. I did think of enlarging one of my personal photos from my Scottish coastline collections, but was worried about the quality as I wanted this to be really large, so I began to scour the internet for ideas and this search led me to discover the website at art.co.uk This website is not just a store that sells pictures it is a place to be inspired. I was so impressed by the content of the website which is laden with tools to help you with your designs, suggestions for room layouts, colours and suggestions for styles of art that complement various spaces in your home. It kept me occupied for hours! There are really good categories to wade through, so for example I typed in beach and was able to narrow these down to just the black and white options that I was searching for. Having spent many days looking through their online catalogue I found my dream picture - Pathway To Beach by Denis Frates. This is a print that you can decide how you want to purchase be it on canvas or otherwise. I opted for canvas which altogether would have cost me £125 but I did find a discount code which took 20% off at the time, and there are always offers available even on the website itself. The print is quite large at 91 by 61cms which is exactly what I had been looking for in terms of size. Of course you can just purchase the print for £22.99 and there are various framing options. The thing about putting this onto canvas is that it makes it look so realistic. The image itself is from the west coast of the state of Oregon in the United States, and the picture shows a walkway that leads onto a wild coastal scene. It is in black and white which really makes it look intense and lifelike, and you can imagine yourself walking onto the beach which is deserted and remote. The picture is mounted onto cotton canvas and is treated with an anti fade process so the colours remain as they were intended to be - vibrant for the life of the canvas. Having placed my order I only had to wait 5 days before my parcel arrived, and this is where the excellent service really showed because not only was delivery prompt but the packaging was absolutely superb. It was packed in layers of cardboard and there was absolutely no skimping here, and the canvas was in immaculate condition. It was completely ready to hang and I stored the packaging away safely in the loft in case we decide to move house, as there is no way I am parting with this gem in the future! There was the option of tracking the parcel from their website after dispatch which I thought was also very professional. I also really appreciated the fact that they allow customer reviews to be published on their website, and these appear next to images which I think is always reassuring, allowing you to read them alongside looking at your favourite pictures. They also allow a star rating to be given which takes into account workmanship and quality of the image itself. The quality of the picture is outstanding, the depth of colour is incredible, and the view across the water is so real that callers to my house comment every time I open the door, and ask where was that taken, and where can they purchase one of their own! It is a serene view and one that is calming, and the printing quality is of such a high standard that you can even imagine the wind is blowing the Marram grass that lies in the foreground! The company offer a money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied which gives you peace of mind. I can't fault this company. My experience with them from ordering through to delivery was outstanding and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. www.art.co.uk For the image I chose type in Pathway To Beach - Dennis Frates This review will also be posted on Ciao under my user name Violet1278 where I will also include a photo of the image.
