“ FADS currently have over 70 stores situated in market towns and central London, bringing “The one stop shop for home decorating enthusiasts” to local communities. „
Fads are high streets store that are best known for selling wallpaper. I have shopped here many times sand have always been happy with the selection and customer service I have received.
My last trip to Fads was very different from my previous experiences.
Fads now seem to have taken on a new role in the high street and sell many new items.
Fads still have a large choice of quality wallpaper, paste, paint, decorating tools etc. but in addition to this they now have a bedding and curtain selection with a huge range, all very modern and reasonably priced. (Curtains starting from around £20)
There is also a furniture selection including beds, TV units, dinning tables etc. again all very modern and reasonably priced. (Bed Frames from £100)
I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful and also seemed to have good product knowledge, which is always helpful.
I purchased wallpaper for my lounge at £10 a bolt. The paper went up easily and looks great. A good bargain I'm sure you will agree.
Overall I found Fads to be a good all rounder.
Fads used to just sell wallpaper, paint and aceesories, not now though. Fads have expanded their stores to include, furniture, sofas, household goods for example loo brushes, gifts (many a christmas gift to be found), cd's (many cd's are new and are half the normal price), videos, food (yes thats right), vitamains, ornaments, flowers the list goes on an on ih I forgot to mention the wallpaper and paint that it still does sell. Fads were sold off by the Kingfisher group and the new owners have turned fads into a gernal purpose store. Tthis has been a success as whilst your in buying your wallpaper you see lots of ornaments and things that would go with its new look so you buy them. The prices are very reaonable making buying them a even more attractive offer. As for the wallpaper they do a massive range, at prices for every budget. The same can be said for paint if you want a certain type of paint or colour Fads will have it. I would recommend that if there is a fads near you its worth going in to to see for yourself the diveristy of goods that they offer.
Fads store sell almost everything that you need for home decorating. Paints, varnishes, wallpapers, brushes and accessories are all stocked. The range of wallpaper sets them apart from B&Q / Homebase though. There are a wide range of papers on display, many of these are cheaper than elsewhere and they always seem to have plenty in stock. Many times we've chosen a paper we like at B&Q only to find that they don't have enough paper or borders in stock. They also carry a full range of samples books of papers for order. Matching accessories are also sold such as table lamps, pictures, ornaments etc all are reasonably priced. As they specialise in decoration the staff are knowledgeable as well as being helpfull. Worth a visit before you go to B&Q, you won't be disappointed.
Fads sells some really trendy pillows and house accessories at really cheap prices along with loads of wall paper and paint in really cool colours and styles. it sells candles/holders, beds, curtains/bedding, photo frames, ornaments, bathroom accessories. they stock some really nice stuff to "do up" your house. i have bought plenty of things from there for my bedroom including some shaped pillows, some nice flowers in frames, etc. take a look you'll find something you like.
Last week I went into town to try and find some more stylish wallpaper for my bedroom. When walking into Fads the range of wallpaper that was situated just inside the doorway astonished me. On one side of the store were all of the extras that are needed to decorate a room (e.g. pasting boards, pasting brushes and paste). The range of wallpaper goes from old-fashioned dull wallpaper all the way to modern shapes that could be put up in any modern bedroom. At the back of the store there is a lighting section so that you can choose the correct lights to fit the room that you are decorating. On the left hand side of the store all of the finishing objects that would round a room off like towels for the bathroom or ornaments. I would recommend Fads to any one, as this is the all in one decorating store where you can find anything and everything that you need to decorate a room.
Fads has to be one of the best decorating stores around, has its own range of paints and wallpapers and prices are second to none. Some stores do branch out into carpets etc but for price and quality on your decorating materials fads has to be the store. Now has stores not just in city centres but also in out of town outlets. I recommend you try their range of coloured emulsions, a very good choice of colours is available and they cover in one coat!!.
Have you been to Fads lately? they were recently sold to a small consortium, their shops are as we speak being radicaly overhauled to sell a wide range of other goods. Along with paint paper & matching assesories they now sell toys, ice cream, toiletries& stationery. Soon to be included is a gadget shop, promising all manner of odd items. No longer will the kids be bored while you are browsing for decorating materials, there is now something for them too. This is a new slant on DIY that I will watch with interest.
