      ===Who are Of Monster and Men?===
      Of Monsters and Men are a brilliant indie folk band from Iceland all of which sing in English. They claimed their fame through their first Album "My head is an animal". The band consists of 6 members with 2 lead singers and others doing backing and supplying the music with their brilliant talents with instruments.
      If you didn't know any better, you would think the band were British as their sound is so similar to a lot of British folk music.

      They haven't taken off so much here in the UK but as a huge fan of folk/indie and alternative music, I am a huge fan of this band. Their sound is happy and just gives you a feeling of summer and sunshine when listening to their music. The two lead singers, one male, one female is a brilliant mix of music. They both have a similar huskiness to their voices which makes them bond well together in each song. I listen to a brother sister duo often called Angus and Julia stone and their sound is very similar to those.

      The breezy melody of their voices was what brought my attention to the band. I cannot get enough of them and can't wait for them to bring out a new album. I think I have played mine to death now. Their debut song on the album "little talks" did get to number 3 in the UK charts which was brilliant news to know folk music is becoming more popular.

      Track list of the album in order:
      Dirty Paws
      King and Lionheart
      Mountain Sound
      Slow and Steady
      From Finner
      Little Talks
      Six Weeks
      Love Love Love
      Your Bones
      Sloom
      Lakehouse
      Yellow Light

      ===Going deep into the songs===
      "I dare you to close your eyes,
      and see all the colours in disguise,
      running into the night,
      the earth is shaking and I see a light."
      These lyrics from the song Yellow Light are my favourite of all off the album. This song is pretty different as it has no chorus, just two verses which end after around 1m45secs into the song and the song is 4m45secs long leaving the rest of the song lyric-less.

      Another favourite of mine is Lakehouse and the song seems so innocent with it's lyrics and isn't much about love or anything that makes much sense. With most of the songs on this album I tend to not take much notice of lyrics as their voices are so magical and mesmerising that I feel like I'm somewhere else.
      ----------
      'Little talks' is probably their most well known track on this album. The title from this review comes from the lyrics in this song. It's the most catchy song on the album and will get you singing along to the chorus when you listen to it. It's such a happy tune and yet again the lyrics are a bit crazy and probably mean a collection of different things to the band.
      Hey!
      Don't listen to a word I say
      Hey!
      The screams all sound the same.
      Hey!
      The lyrics in this chorus are very simple yet the most catchy of the song. Most songs do well for not having too much of a complex lyric which helps this song well. I love the music in it as the trumpets give it that excellent sound the song wouldn't have been able to do without.
      -------
      The first song on the album Dirty paws is a masterpiece song on the album and a perfect song to pick to kick off their first album. The song features an array of different instruments and the two leads and singing in harmony throughout the song which brings the song to the perfect 10 for me. There is distinctive parts to the song where the collaboration of instruments drums in with just simple lyrics of "la la la, la la la la". It feels like the built up to something great.

      The whole album is full of random lyrics, beautiful voices, perfect instrument choices and a happy attitude.

      ====Where to buy?===
      You can buy My head is an animal for £8.70 on amazon. This was where I bought my own copy from.
      I put it onto my Iphone so I can listen to it when cooking or when I'm trying to get some sleep.

      I recommend this album not only to folk/indie fans but also so anyone who has love for music. It's nothing of what's in the charts these days and you can hear the love for music in their songs. I am giving this album 5/5 for being AMAZING! every song on it is great and there isn't any that I would skip over.
