      Very helpful

The East Anglian Railway Museum is situated at Chappel railway station which is on the Marks Tey - Sudbury line so is easy to get to by public transport its just over the footbridge. Here you will find a variety of Engines and old Trucks and railway memorabilia. The museum only operates a steam engine on certain days so check the web site or phone them to check. The prices vary depending on what is happening on the day so again ring or check Also situated on the site are three restored signal boxes one of which is manned and controls the points for the steam train another of which you can see what it was like in a signal box and what the state of the railways were before and after Dr Beeching (the man responsible for closing a lot of the countries railway) you can even have a go at the levers yourself. One Very popular day is A day out with Thomas where you can ride in Thomas the Tank Engine Daisy the Diesel rail car and net Easter Toby and Henrietta should be running. A great day out for the kids and my kids were running across the bridge as soon as they realised Thomas was there. There is a refreshment bar there serving burgers chips sandwiches and drinks and snacks On Steam days (including Thomas days) there is unlimited rides all day You can also check out the restoration shed and check out some other engines in the sidings All in all a great day for the family and steam addicts
