Perfect if you like dusting several times a day

My ex bought this for our first home together. I was living in Wales and he had already moved to our house in Durham so I trusted him to get a nice TV stand. He got it on EBay as it was on offer and it cost him around £50.

I signed for the TV stand when he was in work and I put it together myself which was very easy it took me about 15 minutes and the instructions were easy to follow. The stand weighs about 20kg in the box luckily the delivery guys brought it right in for me.

As soon as I started building this I knew the blackened glass was going to be a problem to keep clean it was covered in fingerprints just from building it but I reasoned I could clean it and it would be OK afterwards.

The stand is three glass shelves, four legs and a backplate which has circular holes in to feed wires through to keep them neat and tidy.

Once assembled the stand looked nice, it is very sturdy. The recommendation is that this stand can hold a TV up to 37 inches. My TV at the time was and LED 40 inch TV but it was very slimline so it didn't have a big frame around the screen as some older LCD TV's have. I placed my Sky box on the second shelf and my DVD player on the bottom along with surround sound speakers each side on the bottom shelf and also a Wii. There is a lot of space to place things so for someone with a lot of equipment this stand would be perfect.

I didn't notice this stand as being so much of a problem in my old house as there was laminate flooring so it didn't get too dusty. However when I moved and my new property has a carpet it was then the dust issue started. I hoover everyday without fail sometimes twice a day and the stand still attracted a huge amount of dust. I could go to work and come home and there would be a layer of dust which if left un-wiped in two days looked like I hadn't dusted for weeks! I am a clean freak and it really started to bug me especially when the sun came in the room and the dust was more noticeable. I bought special glass polish with dust repellent in it and immediately after wiping specks of dust were noticeable. Once my daughter was able to get around and touch the stand things just got worse it is a magnet for fingerprints.

I wouldn't recommend this TV stand mainly because of the dust. It always looks dusty and it is really noticeable against the black colouring of the glass. When I split with my ex he took this and I was glad to see the back of it.

In terms of build quality and looks this is nice but it isn't for me.

I would give this 2 stars.

A great TV stand that looks fantastic in my living room

I bought this in January to replace the last TV stand I had in Argos which was so low it was straining my neck. The stand has been renamed Aruba by Argos but it is still the same stand. The RRP is £239.99 but it is frequently on a half price offer. I chose this as my Mum has it and it is a nice height when built. The stand comes in two colours light pine and dark pine. I chose the light pine.

This product comes flat packed and it is fairly heavy as it is solid wood it weighs 24.6kg. I had mine delivered as I didn't fancy carrying it from store and to my car and then into the house.

The stand is made from solid pine and it smells lovely when the box is first opened. In fact the woody smell lasted a week or so before it has sadly vanished.

You need a hammer and a Philips screwdriver to build this. You are not recommended to use an electric screwdriver as it can damage the wood which is quite soft.

The instructions are clearly laid out and the pieces are marked to make it easy to assemble. It took me about an hour and half to do this and I did it alone. The door was the trickiest part and took me longer than I expected. Some parts of the wood have guides to help you screw it together other part you had to screw the screws in completely blind which blistered my hands and towards the end I couldn't wait to finish.

The TV stand measures H58, W105, D44cm once assembled and is suitable for TV's all the way up to 42 inches and weighing a maximum of 40kg.

The stand consists of a wooden drawer and two shelves to the left hand side of the stand and on the right there is a glass door which inside has two shelves. At the back of the stand there is a panel which is made from board and not solid wood. This has spaces in it to put your wires through.

Once assembled this stand looks really nice. It is really good quality and the wood has a nice unfinished appearance.

I have put my Sky box and Blu Ray player on the left and inside the cupboard I have managed to store nearly all of my daughters DVD's. Inside the drawer I have a few wires and chargers stored. This stand has my TV at a good height so when I am sat on the sofa I am not straining my neck to look at the TV.

The stand is easy to clean I simply wipe it with a damp cloth. You are advised not to use any cleaning chemicals as the wood is only lightly waxed. I have picked up a proper wood wax which I have used once when my daughter managed to tip milkshake on the top and it got the stain off as well as adding a protective layer against further spills.

I would highly recommend this TV stand it matches most décor schemes and is robust enough to last for years.

Top marks for this TV stand.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Such a shame this stand is too low.

After splitting with my ex I was left with hardly any furniture my living room had nothing so for a cheap solution I bought this TV stand and a coffee table until I had more money to buy the ones I really wanted.

The reason I chose this was the price, at the time it was by one get one half price and the TV stand was £29.99 the coffee table the same price.

I have to admit I didn't read the reviews about this product so I didn't check the dimensions (doh).

The TV stand comes in three colours oak, beech and black ash. It is flat packed and weighs 14kg. I was able to carry this out of Argos myself and it fitted in my boot with ease.

When I opened the box I was impressed with the finish of the product. I half expected it to be cheap and nasty but the finish was good and the pieces were solid.

The instructions are well laid out and it took me about 30 minutes to put together, all you need is a screwdriver and a hammer.

The stand measures H30, W90, D40cm. It is suitable for TV's up to 32 inches and will hold a TV of a maximum weight of 30kg.

When I first built this my initial thought was it was low. Unfortunately I didn't realise how low until I actually went out and purchased a TV. I have a 32 inch slimline TV and as soon as I had placed it on the unit my initial thought was this stand is too low. It was so low in fact my daughter who was 2 at the time was taller than the TV on the stand. It made viewing really uncomfortable particularly as my sofa is quite high. The next problem I encountered was when I bought a DVD player. Not thinking I bought one that was quite long and it didn't fit in the slot as they were so small.

I made do with this for about two months until my neck was hurting from the constant strain and I decided to purchase a new stand.

This is a nice looking stand when it is constructed it is sturdy and it is also wipe clean. I wouldn't recommend it however because of the size if I had read the reviews on Argos prior to purchase I would have known as nearly every review mentions this.

I would give this 2 stars.

          Perfect for in between colours

I have been colouring my hair at home since last July when I had my hair coloured from its natural dark blonde with highlights to brown. I was finding that despite only applying an all over colour to my roots the mid lengths of my hair were suffering from a build up of colour leaving it looking darker than the rest of my hair. I decided to try this when my roots needed a touch up instead of a full colour.

I got this from Tesco and it cost me £4.50.

The root touch up comes in several shades which are designed to blend your roots with the rest of your hair. Clairol even promise that it will help to blend in not only it's own colourants but also leading brands including L'Oreal which is the most recent colourant I used.

My hair is naturally blonde so my roots come through lighter than the rest of my hair. I normally buy the lightest shade of brown dye when I am colouring at home but because there was a build up and it looked darker I chose this root touch up in brown which the box states is suitable for medium brown colours.

The back of the box shows you the expected results so I knew it would be a good match.

Before I used the colour I read the instructions thoroughly. It does recommend a patch test but I didn't bother (tut tut). The colourant is permanent, covers 100% of greys and blends seamlessly.

Inside the box you get a small mixing tray, a precision brush, some gloves, the colourant and the developer creme. You need to mix the colourant and developer into the small tray provided until the colour is thoroughly mixed you can use the end of the developer brush to do this. Then using the brush you need to apply the colour to the roots most visible including the parting and hairline.

The brush is easy to use it combed through my roots easily and applied the right amount of colour. I used the whole mixture and then as directed left it to develop for 10 minutes. If you have grey hair you can leave the mixture on for up to 15 minutes.

After the developing time you simply massage the scalp while rinsing with warm water until the water runs clear. You then simply wash your hair as usual.

After using this my hair didn't feel damaged as it was only the uncoloured parts that were dyed. Once my hair was dry my light roots had vanished and they had blended with the rest of my hair. The colour looked good on my roots and you could never tell I hadn't done the rest of my hair. In fact several of my colleagues in work thought I had been to the hairdresser!

I would recommend this kit it is so easy to use it doesn't damage the hair and it gives excellent results it also doesn't smell too bad!

          top marks for this product!

A lovely childhood memory to share with my daughter

My daughter loves Mr Men and Little Miss I bought this from Amazon about a month ago for my daughter's birthday. She was poorly last week and off nursery so I decided to give it to her early so she could watch it while recovering on the sofa.

The box cost me £13.99 but the price changes regularly as it often does with Amazon.

The main reason I chose these DVD's is because of the lovely box they come in. It is a tin box which has a hinged lid which encases the 4 DVD's. The outside of the box features several characters from the series with their names written underneath.

These DVD's are rated U which means they are suitable for everyone.

          Inside the set you get 4 DVD's including;

          The Complete Series One which features;
Mr Happy, Mr Silly, Mr Jelly, Mr Snow, Mr Bounce, Mr Forgetful, Mr Funny, Mr
Bump, Mr Tickle, Mr Small, Mr Messy, Mr Greedy and Mr Sneeze.

          The Complete Series Two which features;
Mr Strong, Mr Daydream, Mr Fussy, Mr Worry, Mr Uppity, Mr Dizzy, Mr Topsy
Turvy, Mr Muddle, Mr Mean, Mr Nosey, Mr Chatterbox, Mr Noisy, Mr Impossible, Mr Lazy and
          Mr Grumpy.

          The Complete Little Miss which features;
Little Miss Splendid, Little Miss Late, Little Miss Plump, Little Miss Helpful, Little Miss Tiny, Little Miss Bossy, Little Miss Naughty, Little Miss Trouble, Little Miss Magic, Little Miss Neat, Little Miss Scatterbrain, Little Miss
          Sunshine and Little Miss Shy.

Mr Men & Little Miss Christmas Special.

The first two DVD's series one and two of Mr Men are narrated by Arthur Lowe who is best known for his role in Dad's Army.

The DVD can be watched right through or you have a choice to select episodes. My daughter wanted to watch the whole thing. As soon as the DVD started and the music came on I was transported back to my childhood. The animations are a bit dated but true to the books. Arthur Lowe is fantastic at narrating and he brings to books to life. The stories follow the books so we sometimes follow along with the book. As a grown up I found the first two DVD's to be really entertaining there are a few un PC bits in there including regional stereotypes which make it even more funnier to watch as an adult. There are also some nice lessons in the Mr Men books which shine through on the DVD.

The only negative thing with the first two DVD's is the sound isn't as good as it could be but I can overlook this based on the fact the rest of the DVD content and quality is good.

The Little Miss DVD is slightly newer so the animations are better and the sound quality is far superior than the Mr Men DVD.

The little Miss series is narrator by John Alderton and his wife Pauline Collins. I don't remember seeing the Little Miss series as a child but it is really enjoyable. There is a nice theme tune which we learnt the words to in a day and are happily singing along. Once again the series follows the books and is true to the books.

The final DVD in the set is a Christmas one, despite this my daughter couldn't wait to watch it. This particular spin off is fairly new so the animation quality is very good. The story is only short but really nice a young boy called Jack asks Mr Forgetful to post his letter to Santa he is distraught until Mr Happy has an idea and using Mr Daydreams help Jack travels along many lands meeting various Little Misses and Mr Men until he finds Santa. It is rather festive and dull of Christmas type songs which my daughter loves despite the fact it is only March.

Since I have given my daughter this box set it is all she has watched. We love to watch this together. It is a lovely little set featuring the most popular of the Mr Men our favourite being Mr Tickle because his arms are so long he can reach from his bed down the stairs and into the kitchen to get himself some breakfast.

I would recommend these DVD's for the price they are excellent and will be enjoyed by all ages.

            A fun little baking kit

I bake a lot with my daughter and I normally make cakes from scratch but we were in Tesco last week and she spotted this cake mix and she asked so nicely could she have it so I bought it. It cost me £1.69.

The packaging is a little different to the picture above. The box is blue and features Mr Bump and Little Miss Sunshine on the front. The box tells me that the mix makes 10 servings and only takes 15 minutes to cook.

The cakes contain no artificial colours and flavours and are free from hydrogenated fats.

To make the cakes you an egg and some butter. Everything else you need is included in the box.

Inside the box you get a packet of cake mix, some icing, 10 cake cases, sprinkles and some edible Mr Men and Little Miss decorations.

The instructions are on the side of the box and they are easy to follow, you need to add and egg, some water and the butter to the cake mix before whisking and then putting into the cake cases. I helped my daughter with the whisking as we have an electric whisk but everything else she was able to do herself.

Once you have put the mixture into the cases you need to pop the cakes into a pre heated oven for 12-15 minutes depending on if you have a fan oven or not.

Once the cakes are cooked they need to be left to cool completely. Once they are cool you can then make the icing which is simply icing sugar. This needs water to be added to it which was another very simple process. Once each cake has been topped with icing you can then stick the decorations on.

My daughter liked the decorating part the best, there were plenty of sprinkles to cover the cakes. The decoration plaques included were really nice all the main characters are features including Mr Tickle and Little Miss Chatterbox.

After the cakes had dried it was time to try them. The cakes aren't the best I have tasted but they are nice. They were moist and the sponge was light. Most importantly of all my daughter really enjoyed these cakes.

I would recommend this kit for a Mr Men and Little Miss fan, it is easy to make the cakes and a lot of fun to decorate them.

I would give this 5 stars for the price it is a nice little baking kit.

A fun way to learn the alphabet

My daughter has the Letter Factory App on her LeapPad and she loves the song so I decided to get her this for her Birthday.

It cost me £13.50 from Tesco Direct three weeks ago.

This letter factory is a newer version of the original by Leapfrog which was stuck to the fridge but had nowhere to store the letters.

The factory is for children aged 2 and over.

The letter factory is basically a rectangular box which is transparent blue and stores the 26 letter of the alphabet. The lid of the box is a speaker and a spot for the letters to be pressed into for your child to learn phonics. The box has a carry handle printed with letters of the alphabet which folds down when the factory is in use. There is also a button on the front which when pressed sings the alphabet song which helps children to remember what they have learned. There is a power on/off switch which also doubles up as a volume switch the volume has two levels low and high.

The letter factory is decorated with pictures of Tad the frog who sings the alphabet song.

This toy needs 3 x AAA batteries which are included.

When my daughter opened this she was very excited and couldn't wait to have a go. The letters are smaller than I expected but they are the right size for toddlers hands. My daughter was thrilled when she placed a letter in the unit and it started singing the song she loves.

This unit is for teaching phonics so it is very repetitive when a tile is placed in the reader it tells your child the letter and then it sings a song telling your child the sound the letter makes. Some letters make two sounds like E saying e and eh which the unit tells your child.

My daughter loves this toy since she has had it we have played with it daily and I find myself singing the song around the house. It doesn't do an awful lot for a toy but it is an excellent learning tool. The factory also has a British voice so you get proper pronunciation of the letters.

This is a great toy for learning and my daughter is recognising the letters already and she can tell me the sounds of some before even placing the tile on the reader. For the money this is a bargain I would give this full marks.

5:2 is the way to go for me!

When I was 16 I was overweight I managed to lose 4 stone and settle at 10 stone which is perfect for my 5 ft 6 height. However as I got to around 24 the weight started to creep on and now I am stuck 3 stone heavier than I would like to be.

I have tried so many diets with limited success. I started with Slim Fast which left me craving food all the time as the shakes were so sugary they made me want to eat more and a shake wasn't satisfying. I then moved onto Slimming World which is great and it works however I find it so expensive to follow Slimming World as I like to eat a lot of lean meat and fresh fruit and veg which is costly. I managed about 6 weeks on Slimming World and lost only 4lb despite attending meetings and not deviating from the plan.

As a desperate attempt to lose weight last year I then attempted a VLCD (very low calorie diet) this was just milkshakes and soups with no food whatsoever. My doctor OK'd this diet and I thought it would be a quick fix however I was left with headaches and feeling awful I lost 11lb in the first week and 7lb for the two weeks after however I was craving food so badly that when I did eat I piled on a stone within 2 weeks which made me think the weight loss was just water and not really fat.

The beginning of this year I decided I needed to start again and find something that works. I bought a fitness DVD in November and I was doing it daily as well as running but because my diet was so shocking I lost no weight. I would go all day not eating and then eat a huge meal at night with snacks which I think affected my metabolism.

I spent some time researching diets online and I decided to try the 5:2. I chose my starting date as the 6th January 2014. The 5:2 diet is simple you eat 500 calories (women) or 600 calories (men) a day for two non consecutive days of the week and eat normally the other 5 days sticking to the recommended calorie allowance which is 2000 for women and 2500 for men.

I chose my fast days as Monday and Thursday which fit in well with my life. The great thing about this diet is you can change the fast days to suit your social life.

The first fast was quite hard, I use meal replacement products on my fast days as I can't be bothered to try and cook something within the 500 calorie limit. I bought my products online which are recommended for use with this diet. You then need to drink a lot of water a minimum of 2 litres on a fast day.

On my non fast days I didn't go crazy. I always cook from scratch and I have been sticking to 1500 calories most days some days I have had 2000, I have even been to McDonald's and out for meals and drinks with friends and I have still lost weight.

In the first week I lost 3lb and every week since I have lost between 1-2lb. I am now getting closer to my target and I don't feel like I am on a diet.

I have decided to adopt this diet as a way of life and once I reach my target weight I intend to drop the fast to one day a week.

I never watched the Horizon programme on this diet but I wish I had. I have found it so much easier than any diet I have tried. I can eat everything I like in moderation.

On my fast days I find I have so much energy and I can easily run 3 miles.

I wish I had found this diet sooner. I feel so much healthier. I am sleeping better I weigh less and I feel a lot healthier in general.

A decent wipe for a good price

As I have said in my other reviews I clean my car weekly, sometimes twice a week. I have used these on and off for years along with various other products in fact my garage has two boxes dedicated to car cleaning.

I got these in Tesco on offer they were £2 for 20 wipes.

These wipes come in a pack like wet wipes with a peel off strip. There are two finishes matt and gloss. I am not too bothered which finish I have because I always use a silicone dash spray after I have wiped the plastic over because I like a glossy finish and I find it repels dirt and dust for longer than matt.

                The wipes are strawberry scented.

You simply take a wipe out of the pack wipe the area required and then dispose of the wipe.

The wipes come out of the pack very moist so 1 to 2 wipes is adequate for the whole of my car.

The real test for me when it comes to car wipes is the plastic on my door. Every day for what seems like months on end it is raining when I get into the car and because I have to leave the door open for a couple of minutes to get my daughter in I seem to be left with these awful watermarks on the door which are evident in the daylight. I have tried a few different things and nothing has removed the marks these wipes however got the marks off and they didn't reappear once the wetness had dried on the door.

These wipes are also good at removing the dust and not transferring it around the car. One negative is that I fins these wipes don't repel the dust and a couple of days after cleaning I notice the dust gathering again.

The scent of these wipes is OK, I find it quite artificial but it isn't unpleasant.

I would recommend these wipes. The keep your car looking clean and they are a good size to do the job quickly. Every wipe is also moist even a month or so after opening.

I would give these 4 stars they are great for people who want to clean their car quickly with the minimum of effort.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

I would not buy these again!

My daughter asked for these in Tesco a few months back so I bought a box despite the colour being a little off putting.

Fruit Loops are made by Kelloggs and they have started being sold in most supermarkets after previously only being sold for extortionate prices in American stores. A 350g box costs £2.79.

The box is red in colour and features a toucan on the front. These cereals are clearly aimed at children. The cereals are loop shaped and each loop is a different colour including; purple, red, green, yellow and blue. To me the colours aren't appealing and eating coloured cereal isn't for me but I thought I would try them as my daughter had tried them and told me they were horrible.

Firstly these smell sweet, you can tell they contain a lot of sugar. Secondly they turn the milk a horrible grey colour which is not attractive in the slightest. When I tried these the taste was awful. They are so sweet I could feel my teeth crying out in protest. There is nothing in these cereals that resembles any fruit I have tried.

I knew I shouldn't have bought these having tried other American cereals and been disgusted by the artificial sweetness I should have known better!

The only positives to these cereals is that they are fortified with vitamins but there are plenty of less sugary alternatives with the same benefits.

I wouldn't recommend these cereals I think I will stick to good old Weetabix.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

Not something I would buy again

I am unfortunate enough to suffer chronically with mouth ulcers. In fact I get them so often and not just one at a time I don't think there is a lot out there I haven't tried.

Normally I use Bonjela Once as those magic little sticks despite being expensive cure a mouth ulcer immediately. However from time to time I get a mouth ulcer in an awkward place like under my tongue or at the very back of my mouth so I can't dry the area to apply the Once treatment. Instead of suffering I thought I would try a mouthwash to help.

I bought this in Boots.. It is steep in price costing almost £9 for a small 120ml bottle.

The bottle has changed from the picture above and is now white in colour. It doesn't look like a mouthwash in fact it looks like a medicine bottle. You also get a small dispensing cap in the box.

                This mouthwash contains no alcohol.

Aloclair also make sprays and gels with the same formula as the mouthwash.

The formula contains aloe vera which helps promote healing as well as providing lasting pain relief. The main thing that drew me to this product was the aloe vera. I have a plant in the house and I have in the past just put the juice from the leaves on my ulcer which has helped with the pain, the only negative is that aloe vera tastes vile so I was hoping this would taste better.

There is no age restriction for use on this product however I don't this would be suitable for young children as they wouldn't be able to use the mouthwash.

You need to use 10ml of this and rinse around the mouth for one minute before spitting out. You can repeat throughout the day as necessary again there is no restriction as to how many times a day this can be used.

The liquid is clear and quite thick in consistency. It doesn't taste of a lot it has a mild taste of aniseed in my opinion.

As soon as the liquid touches the ulcer the relief is immediate. Anyone who suffers will know how painful ulcers can be and the constant stinging and throbbing isn't a nice experience. After using this the area felt a whole lot better this mouthwash leaves a slimy coating in the mouth which can help prevent the ulcer from rubbing.

I personally don't think it heals my ulcers faster. I always end up stuck with them for up to 14 days. This does help with the pain and it does make it more manageable it is so easy to use. I don't use this too often because of the cost so a bottle lasts a long time. I have found traditional salt water to be just as effective it just doesn't taste nice.

This is a fairly good product but not one I would buy again because of the cost.

I would rate this 3 stars, it does cool and soothe the area as well as protect it for a short while but the cost outweighs the benefits and there are cheaper products out there.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                A big disappointment!

Despite having a garage I always park my car on the street because it is easier. This means that when it is frosty I have to defrost the car.

I normally make do with a monkey ice scraper I have had since I was 17 it has a nice cosy mitt on it to keep my fingers toasty in the cold, but in the last few weeks we have had sleet or rain that has frozen to the windscreen making it hard to scrape. My Mum got me a can of this to help speed up the de icing process. They were on offer in Asda 2 cans for £2.50.

The can contains 300ml. The front of the can tells me that this product will work in temperatures as low as -15c and will melt ice fast.

To use this you simply need to spray from the top of the windscreen and work your way down allowing the ice to melt. If it has been snowing before you use this it is recommended you clear the snow first.

The first issue with this is that the spray does not come out evenly, in fact it comes out like a water gun and you have to depress the button for what seems like forever to get your windscreen covered.

The second problem is that this does not melt the ice fast like it claims. In fact the couple of times I have used this I have been so disappointed I have warmed my car up and waited until the heaters melt the screen before scraping the ice off.

This is a very disappointing product, I remember the reason I don't bother with de icer because it really is pointless and a waste of money in my opinion. You also need to avoid contact with the paintwork of the car as it can damage it.

If I could I would give this zero stars it really is a waste of money.

A great wax that lasts almost forever!

I clean my car weekly and I have a huge box of products. I always wax my car after washing to put a protective layer on it and I find that by waxing it stops dirt from sticking making it easier to clean the next time.

I bought this on Amazon for around £20 which is expensive but it comes in a kit with the wax, a microfibre cloth and an applicator.

The bottle is a nice design it looks quite 'trendy' inside the liquid is clear and very runny, it looks a bit like an oil in the bottle.

The product is made by Turtle so I knew it would be good but I read the instructions first and the product contains silicone and hydrocarbon polymers which are designed to provide shine to all surfaces including rubber, plastic and vinyl. Unlike other waxes you can also apply this one in direct sunlight which makes it an even better product for people who only clean the car when the sun is out.

To use the product you need to wash the car thoroughly and dry it is recommended that you use the shampoo from the same range. I haven't yet tried it because of the cost. The sponge that comes in the pack is designed for easy application, you only need the smallest amount of this wax to coat each panel of the car. It is very liquidy so care needs to be taken when pouring it out, the bottle has a dispenser much like the one on shampoo so there is a limited amount of control over what comes out. The wax simply glides onto the car and it is quite difficult to see where you have applied it. After you have covered one panel you then need to use the cloth to buff it off.

What I liked about this wax is that you don't get the tell tale white marks you can from other polishes. I also like the fact that it is difficult to miss bits so you don't notice streaks a few days later.

This polish requires minimum effort to apply and buff. After applying it my car looks like a mirror, it is so shiny I have also noticed that using this keeps my car cleaner for longer as a lot of dirt simply glides off the surface of the car. Water also beads off nicely so you don't get the watermark stains you usually get with rain.

I highly recommend this polish it is costly but the results are amazing, you only need the smallest amount as the applicator means there is little waste of the product.

Top marks for this it is well worth the extra pennies!

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  Costly at full price

This isn't something I would normally buy but around 6 months ago I came across these reduced in Tesco at just 50p a bottle. I have seen this in halfords for around £6 so it was an absolute bargain and I picked up all 6 left on the shelf.

Demon Shine is made by CarPlan. This particular form of Demon Shine comes in a 500ml spray bottle which is enough for up to 10 applications of an average sized car.

Before using this product you need to wash your car thoroughly taking care to remove all dirt. Once you have rinsed your car you don't even need to dry it you simply spray this product on generously one panel at a time then wipe dry using a chamois or microfibre cloth.

The product is designed to take the place or polishing and waxing and designed to save time.

The bottle sprays really well and delivers a good amount of coverage so each panel doesn't need too many sprays.

After using this my car looked shiny it didn't add the protective layer I wanted it too though so it isn't really a substitute for traditional wax. I like to build up several layers of wax on my car so that when it does get dirty it takes the minimum amount of effort to wash it off. I have found that this adds nothing in the way of protection it simply makes your car look shiny for a couple of days after washing.

I would still recommend this for people who don't like to spend hours cleaning their cars, what I tend to do now is wax every other wash and use this in between as it is a good product. It is also suitable for use on all external trims including wheels and bumpers. On the wheels it also does a good job.

Overall this is a good product if a little costly at full price. 3 stars from me.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  A cheap shampoo

I clean my car every week sometimes twice a week, I admit I have OCD when it comes to cleaning and I see my car as an extension of my house and I like it to be clean.

I normally buy car shampoo in bulk from Costco as they sell Simoniz apple scented shampoo but I run out a couple of weeks ago and Costco is a 40 mile round trip so I had to make do with what was in Tesco which was this shampoo. I can't remember exactly how much this cost but it was around £3 and the bottle contains 500ml. The bottle is pretty boring its white with a green label with minimal information on.

On the back of the bottle I am told that this shampoo not only cleans but it cuts through dirt and grime leaving a streak free sparkling finish each time. The product also contains a small amount of wax which will levae your car shiny and provide a protective layer.

To use the shampoo you simply add a capful to warm water and mix before washng your car as normal starting at the top and working your way down to the wheels last of all.

This shampoo is a creamy white in colour and it has a pearlescant appearance. It doesn't have any smell as such.

I find that when using this it is good at removing dirt from my car. Despite the fact I clean my car regularly I drive about 400 miles a week which means my car gets really dirty particularly in the winter. This shampoo easily cuts through dirt, grit, tar and tree sap.

The only negative thing about this shampoo is that it doesn't seem to leave a very waxy finish on my car, with other shampoos I have tried they contain a lot of wax and so I don't need to wax my car as frequently saving time.

Overall this is still a good shampoo and I would use it again but I will deduct a star as I found it didn't leave the finish I wanted.
