I have been using play.com for years. C.D'S D.V.D'S Books, even Clothes.
The prices are favourable, for instance the last DVD i bought was kick-ass - £5.99, then a few days later i happened to see in a shop the wont be named for £10.99.
Thats the kind of service they provide.
I have a soft spot for comical t-shirts too, and boy! do they have a selection. Everything from Superman Tshirts to Family Guy Tshirts To Rolling Stones Tshirts. I love em !! And the prices on them are great too. most of them are £11.99 or 2 for £20 !!
Its the first place i go for anything like that! They seem to have anything and every thing you could possibly be looking for!
I've bought foreign films, 1940's films and foreign 40's films! They seem to have an endless collection.
I cannot fault the service at all, even the delivery is prompt. 3 days average.
I notice that most reviews on books and movies like to go on about the plot, im not going to. I dont want to give anything away, i just want you to understand why you should buy and read this book.
Now, Simon Kernick has a very perticular skillset, he has a way of telling violent, often disturbing stories in such a way that they are almost adventure stories. He comes up with great stories, often involving cops dealing with two seemingly unrelated but interwind cases, he throws his characters into ugly, brutal situations that god forbid, none of us ever end up in and they have there own skillset that allows them to deal with such situations.
The situation in this case (being carefull not to give anything away) is one of the best he has to offer and the main Character (in my opinion the best one he has created) has some very interesting ways in dealing with them. Most of which end in violence.
Now i dont want to sound like a sadist. But the violence he portrays is brutal, but my god does it get the blood pumping when your reading.
But of course the violence has to have a purpose, and the story portrade within the pages here is top notch, on one hand leaves you wondering why no one in hollywood has picked up and made one of these in to a movie, but on the other had praying they wont, in case (and very likely) the screw it up.
Any way, if you've read any of simons other work you'll know what im talking about, if not, trust me, for great crime stories, great characters, great action look no further !!
Not only is this the best Simon Kernick book i have read, but this is the Best book i've read, period.
I first discovered Simon Kernicks works by accident, picking one of his books (i forget which, as i've read them all) up in desperstion in the Airport as my plane was bording. And the rest is history, i've been hooked ever since. Now, i've always been a crime story fan, i have all the sherlock holmes books and films, black and white included, i've seen all the Prime Suspect Series', the list goes on and on. The thing i love about Simon Kernicks Work is the gritty realism of the violence, the violent people and the down right ugliness of the situations these people get themselves into. The Stories are beyond amazing and the characters are some of the best i've come across.
The thing that Makes The Last Ten Seconds the best is all off the above reasons times by ten. Its just unbelievabley brilliant. Tough Guys, Sexy Girls, Tough Girls And Evil Guys mixed in with two interwined seemingly unrelated, but equaly brutal situations, guns, drugs, cops and robbers !! Words cannot describe the pure adrenalin rush i recieved just through turning the bloody pages !!!
Im trying to make my point without giving anything away because i want you to experience it the way i did, clueless. Some of the Characters appear in his other works but the stories, between the books arent related so it doesn't matter if you've never read anything buy him before!
If you have, you already know what im talking about, just buy the book !!!!
If your like me and are fussy with what your willing to watch on the TV, give this a crack! As far as im concerned you can keep Big Brother and Deal or No Deal i aint interested. Having said that im not into many Dramas either, CSI or anything like that. I do enjoy Law and Order and Law and Order S.V.U though. But this, this is really something. Great cast, Great action, Great Characters. The Banter between these cops is both hilarious and heart warming, you can really see the friendships in their eyes. The action is top notch, best of seen on TV in any case. The plots are interesting, nothing Sherlock needs to be called in for but good enough to give these guys a reason to go do what they do best without it seeming cliche. Just good old fashioned shootout, car chases, bad guys and bikini babes !!!!
The story of season 1

Scott Caan - Danny 'Danno' Williams
Daniel Dae Kim - Chin Ho Kelly

If all you are looking for is a place to sleep after a night on the town, then this hotel will fulfill such need, sometimes. The hotel is apropriatley priced at 18-25 pounds for a friday or saturday night (i have never stopped during the week, prices may vary). 18 pounds split between the 3 people the room accomodate is 6 pounds each, exactly the value in my opinion, the rooms are reletively clean, the communial halls are too and the public shower rooms weren't too bad either, but if you need a #1 or #2 then i advise you to wait until you get home, the communial toilet cubicals are dank, often wet, smelly, dark holes in the wall with a door, avoid. You have a 12 noon check out, which god forbid, you step over by even a minute (im not exaggerating) you will be bombarded with abuse by the foreign cleaners (im not rasicst, im just pointing it out). Although when you see the hotel with your own eyes, you wont stay anylonger than it takes to wake up, get dressed and leave any way. The staff are uninterested in helping you with whatever problem, be it problem neighbours or no clean towels, they dont care you get a grunt and a shrug of the shoulders at best. Altogether i have spent the night here on 3 occasions and on all 3 there have been, no clean toilets, no clean towels, noisy, abusive neighbours, the police screeching up sirens ablaze at 3-4am and at one point im sure i heard a gunshot.
If you've had a long heavy night on the own like i had, it just about beats a shop doorway, just.
I have been a life long fan of not only the die hard series but Bruce's work in general. The original Die Hard was the very first "grown up" movie i ever saw, watching it with my old man when i was 7 is one of my fondest memories, hence the reason i was so pleased with this one. After the other two sequals and some some of the not so great action flicks Bruce has made, this truley was a breath of fresh air. I guess it really is just a matter of opinion i knw plenty of people who complain that this is a weak movie and i can see their point, looking at it from their perspective, they're serious "Lethal Weapon" fans, another series i enjoy but it has caused a few lively rows down the pub over which is best. Now, Back to my point, there are three versions on the market at the moment, one is rated 12 and the other two are rated 15. Now my point is this, all three versions are very good, but, look at the original and look at whats missing in two of the three versions, no swearing. Im not very PC, which may be my perspective, but john maclane needs a few Eff's thrown in now and then. Hence the reason i recommend you to look for the "Harder Cut" nothing is cut out the original foul mothed banter is all intact. The issue i have with the 12 rated version, there is nothing, even the yippie ki yay is muffled, the 15 rated version has nothing but the yippie ki yay and the "Harder Cut" has the Effing lot.
