As a United fan I find it hard to believe how Gary Neville gets into the Manchester United team, let alone England. It seems to me that he is no more than an average run of the mill first division player and a jumped up little boy who needs a good slap. Time after time he can be seen in the United back four with his arm raised for offside, when he is actually playing the opposition well onside. Take the game against Deportivo. The other 3 defenders come charging out only for the oppositions forward to waltz through and equalize. Who has played him onside and has his arm raise, you guessed it Gary 'Go sign for someone else' Neville. I really do hope that Ferguson will come to his senses and ofload what I would call a real liability in what could be one of the best United teams of all time.
They have done it again. VNU Publishing have done a grand job with their new Web Active magazine. The cover is colourful and appealing and the content is second to none. I have been a subscriber to VNU's Computer Active for about a year now, so I know just how good their magazines are. It is split into various sections ranging from Workshops, Regulars, Features and help on building your own website. The cost of the magazine is just 75p, YES 75p, which is unbelievable in this day and age. I honestly think that for an Interest only focused magazine you can't buy any better and at 75p you won't find anything cheaper. The only downside is the availability. Asda don't stock it and my local newsagent has only just started to sell it so it might take a good look around the town before you can find a newsagent that has it but trust me, it will be worth search.
Having played this game since Christmas, I have come to the conclusion that it isn't that much different from FIFA 2000. I started playing on Amateur mode but found this to be too easy. Professional mode was a bit more testing but after a couple of weeks playing I have mastered this level. World Class on the other hand is a whole different story. It seems to me that EA Sports hasn't improved the opposition at the level but made your own team weaker. The goalkeepers are always beaten at the near post and it is near impossible to successfully slide tackle and if you do the player gets a yellow or red card. Overal I am not very impressed with Fifa 2001 and hope that EA will try to improve on things for next year, though I don't think a PS1 version will be available next year with the launch of PS2.
I have had my Sharp System for about 8 months and am very impressed with it. It only cost me £199.99 from Scottish Power, which for a surround sound system is very good. I have mine hooked up to the TV, Video, Sky and Playstation and the sound is unbelievable, I don't think the neighbours think so though. Having the five speakers is a real bonus, especially the main centre one that blasts out great sound. The thing I use it for most is when I am watching the football as it make it feel like you are actually there. If you are looking for a surround sound system and don't have bags of cash to spend this one is definatly worth a look at.
Having now had Sky Digital for nearly a year I am coming to the conclusion that all I am really watching is the same old programmes over and over again. This week my Sky Magazine arrived and I eagerly flicked through to the Christmas Day page only to find the same old films that have been showing all year. I am seriously debating wheather to cancel my subsciption as all I really watch on Sky is the Football. Wouldn't it be nice if you could pick say 10 channels that you actually wanted to watch and get rid of the rest, thus cutting your monthly charge. Sky could charge say £1 for each channel and anything over the 10 would bring an additional charge to your monthly bill.
In all honesty is anyone going to become a millionaire out of writing opinions on dooyoo, I think not. I quite agree with comments made by psmyth, obviously the member that he spoke of writing 300+ opinions has loads of time on their hands and should be looking for a job. In all fairness though because there is a cash element to this site you are going to get people that don't give a damn about what their opinion consists of as long as it is 75 words long and they get paid for it.
From someone who doesn't normally like boxing games, I found this to be very good and rather addictive. I was lucky enough to win a copy of the game from an Internet competition. There are various types of mode that you can play in, Vrs, World Champ but I think the best one is the Career Option. Firstly you choose your desired weight and are given a choice of boxers to pick from. Then it is a case of picking the right training and practising in the sparing ring before taking on opponents and trying to become the best fighter in the world at your chosen weight. This game has all the thrills of a beat um up and the stratigical element of a managerial sim. Well worth a look at.
It seems to me that the majority of bands that sping up left, right and centre these days are only there for the money and not because they love singing. Every week there seems to be loads of new manufactured bands hitting the charts with nothing more that drivel sounds. Its seems that there are so many bands these days you only need to sell 30,000, or even less singles, to make number 1. I can only see this problem getting worse as the number of new bands increases but it is always nice to see some of the old classics starting to be played again on the run up to Christmas.
I don't think that it matters where you shop if you receive bad service you will remember that and the chances are you won't go back. With the emergence of these big American style shopping parks quality service seems to have taken a bit of a back seat, with the retailer only interested in making more money, not keeping customers happy. I honestly think that in the years to come the small town and high street shops (which seem to be suffering at present) will again have their day but the area that they have got to, and usually do, aim for in quality service. I don't dislike the shopping parks but if I want good sound advice I always go to a retailer that has been recommended by word.
Well my top ten. After a 20 minutes brainstorm and many changes I have come up with this list of my top ten singles and I would love to here your comments. No 10 - Killer by Adamski, No 9 - Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship, No 8 - There No Stoppin Us from Breakdance One, No 7 - Hideaway by Delacy, No 6 - You Don't Know Me by Armand van Helden, No 5 - King of Wishful Thinking by Go West, No 4 - Mo Money, Mo Problems by Puff Daddy, No 3 - Better the Devil you Know by Kylie, No 2 - Best Things in Life are Free by Janet and Luther and my Number One single is She's Got That Vibe by R Kelly. I think the reason that I like alot of these singles is they were all about when I was in my teen years and I can reminis on the years gone by.
I think out of all the shops that I have visited to look/buy Christmas Decorations this year B&Q has to come out on top. They have a great selection of trees ranging from your bulk standard to fibre optic. They have a wide range of baubles and tinsel in a variety of colours. One of the ranges that did stick out was a rather nice Winnie the Pooh range. It consisted of tree decorations, candles and characters in festive dress. Luckily it wasn't that busy so now must be the best time to shop, before the big rush starts.
I am of the belief that there is not enough deterant in the country to stop young people commiting crime. They know that they can get away with it and after all a leopard never changes its spots. Well I think the asnwer would be to take something away to stop people from commiting crime and what better way than what they do to thieves in Saudi Arabia, cut off a hand. If that deterrant was there would someone re-offend only to have the other one cut off, I think not. This may be a bit harsh, I here you say to yourself. I tell you one thing though, IT WILL WORK.
To be honest I had a sneaky feeling that it was going to be a hard year for Sheff Wed. Having completely fallen apart last year it is going to take at least 2-3 seasons and, I believe a different manager, to give them a chance of getting back into the Premiership. The biggest problem is, this is the hardest division to get out of. Just look at Wolves. For how many years have they been one of the favorites to be promoted. Unfortunatly for all you Wednesday fans, I think you are going to suffer the same problem. My advice, bring back Danny Wilson. He never should have been sacked in the first place.
It just goes to show that to get out of Division 1 all that you really need is a well equiped squad and a class manager. I have been more than impressed with the start that Fulham have had this season but I believe that this is mainly down to the manager Jean Tigana. He has got bags full of money at his disposal but knows that he doesn't need to spend it, well not this season. The team play well as a unit and will win the Title by a number of points. The only worry for me is next season. Although I say you don't need superstars in your team in Div 1, to have a chance of even staring in the Premiership you need 2 or 3 superstars.
This is one of the nicest public houses that I have been to in the Maidstone area. Situated on the Grove Green Estate just outside of Maidstone and next to Tescos. It is based on an old traditional kentish style and has a built in oast. The pub is owned by Shepherd Neame, a kent based brewer, selling mainly Shepherd Neame produce but also has guest lagers and many other drinks available. There is a resturant to the side that serves food most of the day and in the evenings. On Wednesday and Saturday nights the pub hosts a band night, this can get abit load at times, but is very enjoyable.
