      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Still wearing them 2 years later

I love Ed Hardy and I actually bought these shoes whilst I was on holiday in Los Angeles. I bought them for about $70, which worked out to be cheaper than if I had bought them in England.

I suffer from flat feet so I often find that walking long distances in converses makes my feet ache and feel sore for days afterwards. I don't get this problem with my Ed Hardy shoes, and they are a lot more comfortable.

The shoes are easy to slip on due to the fact that they don't have any laces. There are holes to give the illusion that laces could be used but they are sewn onto the material below, meaning that they are just slip on shoes. They are very easy to put on and take off.

The material is much softer than those used in converses and actually make them a lot more comfortable than their rivals. The fact that the material is also a lot thinner means that they are a lot easier to wear in the summer, without making your feet get all sweaty. The only downside to the thin material means that your feet get very wet very quickly as soon as it starts to rain! The soles have a good strong grip on the bottom whilst walking, and I used them on ice a few months ago and they worked really well.

I bought these in the summer of 2008 and I have been wearing them almost daily ever since. They look a little bit worn, but the colours are still just as bright, and they definitely don't look to be 2.5 years old!

These shoes are expensive, but I think that they are well worth the money. They look fantastic, have a great eye catching design, they last a very long time and are also very comfortable.

      Keep your feet really warm!

I have really bad circulation which means that during the winter months I really suffer with cold hands and feet. I don't like slippers because I find them really uncomfortable so I decided to buy a pair of slipper socks to see if these would be better.

I bought mine from Debenhams and they were on special offer, reduced from £7 to £5. If you consider what you would pay for a pair of slippers I found these to be extremely good value.

They have a range of about 10 different colours, and they will fit most foot sizes too. You can get male, female and childrens versions.

The pattern on the bottom of the socks are the same for all of the socks, and look similar to that of a tyre print, and it has Totes written on the middle of the socks. The grip is strong, and when walked on polished floors I don't have any problems with slipping like I would do if I was wearing normal socks.

The socks are very thick and work extremely well at keeping my feet warm at winter. I've taken them with me to wear with shoes if it's an especially cold day, and whilst they have worked well and kept me warm, they are a little too thick to wear with normal shoes, and cause them to feel quite tight and uncomfortable around your feet.

I remember wearing these as a child and getting years of use out of them, and at the moment I've had mine for a few months and they still look as good as new! They are made out of good material, that will last you a very long time, well worth the price tag.

      fantastic value.

I was bought these as a birthday present last year, as I've always wanted to have curly hair, but always fail when I try to do it manually... I decided I needed curling tongs to do the trick! A quick look on eBay shows me that you can pick up a pair of these for around £10 which is fantastic value.

They are very easy to use, although detailed instructions are included. You simply plug in the curling irons and wait for a beep to tell you that they are hot enough to start using. It heats up very quickly, it takes about 2 minutes in total. once the curler is hot enough you simple section off a small strand of hair. You take the tip of it and place it at the bottom of the tong, and use the leaver to press it against the body of the iron. Then following the guideline marks on the tong you slowly wind your hair around it until you reach the root or just before depending on the style you would like.

How long you leave it held in the tong depends on the style you want, for loose waves only leave it for around 15 seconds, but for tight ringlets you should keep it help in position for around 2 minutes. I also find it helps if you spray some hairspray on beforehand and it helps to keep the curl in place. Obviously you can imagine this ends up being quite a time consuming exercise. To do a whole head of hair it takes me about 2 hours, by which time I am extremely hot and bothered and very fed up!

One thing to mention is to be very careful how you hold the curler! On more than one occasion I have accidentally pressed it against my ear and caused a very nasty burn, or even tightened up towards my scalp too much, and burnt the top of my head! It does get very hot, so be careful when using!

Having said that, I am really pleased with the effects. My hair looks amazing, and I always use these if I'm planning on a night out! The style does tend to hold for the whole day but as soon as I go to sleep it flattens the curls and I wake up looking a mess the next morning, so it definitely doesnt have the longevity that straightening your hair does.

All in all, it does exactly what you would expect, and for such a cheap price, how could you possibly refuse?!

        use in a large room!

I'm a big fan of The Body Shop products, especially the scented fruit products. I bought the Satsuma perfume oil a year or so ago and was a big fan of that. The smell was just delicious and I got compliments whenever I wore it! When I saw that they had it in a Home Fragrance Oil, I decided I would just have to buy it! The thought of having my house smell fresh and fruity was exciting!!

The bottle itself is about 7cm high, and contains 10ml of fragrance oil.

It was quite tough to open the bottle. You have to really FORCE the lid down and then twist... I guess this is for safety measures, but I actually struggled a bit to get it off! As soon as you remove the lid the beautiful fragrance of satsuma appears and it smells amazing!

i use this oil in oil burners and to use you simply put a little bit of water in the top of the burner, add a few drops of oil and light a candle underneath.

The oil is extremely strong. I was sat close to the burner, but within about 5 minutes my eyes were starting to hurt and i had to move it further away from me. A few hours later I had a dreadful headache that stayed with me for the rest of the day. I won't be using this oil again... It is far too overpowering and really hurt my head. The smell is lovely though! It's probably best used in a large room so that the fragrance can disperse more and not stay as concentrated!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Good to use!

I consider myself to be somewhat of a hair dying expert, having dyed my hair practically every colour possible since the age of 15! I decided to try L'Oreal Feria Colour in the shade of Dark Blonde. Why? Because I liked the colour!

It is very easy to mix up the dye, and the instructions included are very easy to follow.

You use this hair dye in the same way that you would with any other brand. Start by washing your hair first (although I always do it with dry hair, as I find it much easier to see if you've missed a bit!). After doing this part your hair into sections and start applying the dye. I find it easiest to start at the bottom and work my way up. After I've done the whole head of hair, if I have any leftover I will squeeze it all out onto anywhere on my head and massage it all in, just to make sure that everywhere is completely covered. Once you have done your whole head then you wait 40 minutes before washing it off.

After washing it off I noticed that actually I had a lot of stains on my body, eg, my shoulders and back, where my hair had been touching the skin. In hindsight I should have tied up my hair for the 40 minutes and spent that time scrubbing off the dye from my skin!! As well as that there were a few marks on my face and ears, which took about 10 minutes of scrubbing to remove!

The main issue for me was that my scalp had been dyed brown!! It was really obvious and I can't think of a way to apply the dye without it getting on your scalp unless you don't cover your roots!! To get rid of it I actually had to scratch off the skin on my scalp and then wash it afterwards again, and that seemed to do the trick but was annoying to have to do it in the first place!

I have had a similar problem with hair dyes doing this in the past, so I don't think it is necessarily a fault just for this specific problem, but it was definitely the hardest to remove!

The packet contains a small bottle of conditioner to use when washing off the dye and I must say I REALLY liked this!! It made my hair feel silky smooth and made a noticeable difference instantly! It lasts for a few washes, and I was really impressed.

I didn't have too many issues with the colour fading, and it looked quite natural too. My hair wasn't dried out too much by the hair dye, and all in all I would definitely use this product again!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

The best you can buy for this price

I went for a few years without actually owning an alarm clock which actually ended up driving me completely crazy, waking up and not knowing what the time was, and having to fumble around in the dark under my pillow for my phone! I decided to buy an alarm clock, which charged and played your ipod too, so that I could listen to the radio, or my music before I went to sleep and so that I would have something nice to wake up to, rather than a generic irritating alarm beep.

After much research into the hundreds of different ipod alarm clocks I decided to go for the Logic3 as it seemed to be very good quality, had lots of different features and was reasonably priced too. I bought it from my local Dixons at a price of £64.99. I got the black version, and the whole system is black as opposed to white which is shown in the picture of the product above.

The product itself is quite large for an alarm clock. It has dimensions of 30 x 20 x 20 cm and weighs approximately 2kg. If you only have a small bedside table then it may take up most of the room, so that is something to consider. It is powered via an AC adaptor, or you can also choose to power it by batteries. It takes 4 AA batteries.

The screen which displays the time is actually quite large and the numbers are displayed in a large font. The screen brightness is actually very bright indeed. I am one of those people that needs complete darkness to sleep. The brightness can actually be altered and there are 3 different brightness settings, but even the lowest setting was too bright for the room, and I ended up sticking a piece of cardboard over the screen. This was a bit disappointing, as the whole reason for me buying was for the time, and now I was covering it up every night!

The alarm clock comes with a remote control. It is a bit annoying to use as you have to be pointing it very accurately towards the device, so you spend lots of time waving your hand around in the air trying to get the song to switch! The buttons on the remote are also quite flat too so don't really go down much when you press them.

On the top of the device is a dock where you place your ipod/iphone. Once you do so your ipod will immediately start charging.

Just below the dock are all of the buttons. Starting with the left hand side, the first one says preset/display, which is used for setting the alarm. Setting the alarm is really easy to do. Simply press that button and us the up and down arrows to scroll through and set the time. Underneath that are the tuning up and down buttons. These are used for the radio, to change the stations easily. To move up one decimal place on the frequency band, simply press the button once. If you hold the button then it skips through the stations quickly until you let go.

On the right hand side, the top button is labelled memory. Below that are the volume buttons. I find that the volume level is really great for such a small device. It is quite powerful, and could easily be used in a very large room. You can go very loud without much distortion of the noise, and is fantastic to use for parties, etc.

In the middle of the istation are the main buttons. There is a large play/pause button, which is used to play and pause the music on your ipod. There are also 4 buttons around this, which are placed at 12, 3, 6, and 9 O'clock around the central play button. The first of these is Time/Sleep. I use this when I am listening to the radio to help me get to sleep. You can set it in 15 minute intervals, ranging from 15 minutes to 135 minutes. The second button is labelled Source. This is describing the souce at which the music is coming from, either radio or ipod. Press this button to skip through the options. The other two options are A1 and A2, which I have never used and have no idea what they do!

At the bottom of the istation, there in the on/off button and the dim button. As mentioned before, I don't like the brightness levels on this alarm clock, and the lowest setting is really not dim enough for you to use in a bedroom and still be able to sleep in there! Below these two buttons is the Snooze button... The largest button on the device, it is right by the edge of the product, very easy to find and press when you have just woken up and are still in a daze!

All of these buttons can be found on the remote, so there is no need to keep getting up to press buttons, which is handy.

There is one major disadvantage to this product. It doesn't charge my iphone!! Well, it did in the beginning, and it charged it really well, I never had any problems. After about 6 months of owning it, I suddenly noticed that when I would remove my iphone from the dock, it would have really random battery levels. It was sometimes as low as 9%, and other times it would be 40 or 50%. Sometimes it would charge the whole way!! It was really sporadic and completely unreliable! i put my phone on charge when I go to bed, so that it is fully charged for the morning! To do this, and then wake up with only 9% battery is extremely frustrating, and I have to spend the majority of my day without access to my phone.

It was particularly complicated to program in the time I found. I had to go and find the instruction manual which I very very rarely had to do! It is not common sense, and even now I have no idea how i managed to do it, and couldn't do it again. The instruction manual is helpful though and provides detailed instructions on how to program various different things and tells you what all the buttons do, etc.

Other than this, the sound quality is very impressive, a lot better than I would have expected it to be. It does tend to have quite a high level of bass, which could be annoying to some people.

The radio signal quality is fairly good. The ariel consists of a bit of wire, that i normally tuck around the back of the product, but sometimes i have had to wiggle it around a lot to try and get decent reception. I don't know why it doesn't come with a proper arial that I could place on my windowsill.

As it is made from a really shiny plastic it does show up marks easily and attracts a lot of dust. Mine always seems to have greasy fingerprint smudges all over the top.

There are two different alarms on the clock which is great if you live with a partner and you both have to get up at separate times like we have to at home! You don't have to wake up, re-program the alarm, etc.

Overall, this is a great product and really good value for the price, probably the best you could buy! It is a shame that my ipod charging dock stopped working, but I'm sure that's just a one-off for me! The sound quality is excellent, and I am very impressed with this product!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Great!

I have extremely dry hair, and it's also very curly, which I hate! Subsequently, I straighten my hair pretty much everyday, which does take its toll on my hair. It becomes pretty dry and I get a lot of split ends too. My regular shampoo and conditioner doesn't really do much to improve its condition at all. I therefore decided to try Tresemme. I had been recommended it by so many people who couldn't praise it enough.

The conditioner comes in quite a large bottle compared to normal conditioner bottles. It contains 900ml, and retails for a price of £3.99 at most places. They normally have some kind of special offers however, and you can sometimes get buy one get one free, or half-price which is really good. I find that a full bottle lasts me about 6 months, which is really good value, especially considering the quality of the product.

The conditioner smells really nice. It does smell similar to how it smells when you get your hair washed at a hairdressers. It's a nice fresh smell, but not too overwhelming or sickly. The creme is white and opaque and is also really thick. It has a marble-type look to it, and looks really luxurious. Due to the thickness of the cream, I find that I don't have to use as much as I would normally use, which helps to save money.

You do as you would with any other conditioner, and simply massage it into your hair and wait a few minutes for it to soak in. I normally wait about 2 minutes... I have waited 5 minutes before and my hair has looked quite greasy after I washed it off so I try not to leave it on too long.

As soon as you start washing it off, the texture of your hair is SO SOFT! I was actually amazed by it! It felt like I was touching silk, and my hair is never that soft! It feels really soft and stays that way even after drying. Once my hair was straightened it looked much glossier, and really shined in the light! It felt so much healthier too!

I've been receiving so many compliments since I changed my shampoo and conditioner to Tresemme and I really can't praise it enough!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Way too expensive for a charger!

This the charger which comes as standard with every Apple Macbook and 13 inch Macbook Pro. The new model is known as an L shape charger, as opposed to the old T style charger, as you can see from the picture, it attaches to the laptop parallel, as opposed to perpendicular to it.

The charger itself has quite a long cord, about 2-3 metres in length. When the connector is plugged into the laptop, the LED, on the connector lights up. It is orange for when the laptop is being charged, and once it has been charged the light will turn green. The charger is white and features the apple logo on the adapter. It also has an added feature where two clips can be extended from the adapter box and this can be used to wire the cable round to keep the cables tidy. I really like the design of the power adapter itself. It is typical Apple style, and looks expensive, and stylish.

The adaptor has a magnetic DC connector. When you hold the connector close to the charger port, you can feel the magnetism pulling the connector into the laptop. This is very useful as so many times I have stood up and accidentally tripped over the charger wire. Instead of this pulling the laptop onto the floor and damaging it, it simply pulls the cable out of the laptop, leaving the laptop undamaged.

I owned this charger for about 3 months before it broke. Upon searching online I found that this is actually a very common problem and that the chargers are notoriously unreliable. I suddenly noticed that the charger seemed to stop charging my laptop. I slightly moved the connector and the light on the charger relit up and the laptop started charging again. I found that with the slightest little movement the laptop would stop charging immediately. This was extremely frustrating and meant I would be sat with my laptop terrified to move for fear of disrupting the charging. Eventually I found it harder and harder to get the connector in a position where it would successfully charge my laptop. After about 2 weeks of experiencing the charging problem, the charger appeared to be completely dead.

Fortunately I paid for the Apple Care Protection so the charger was covered and this enabled me to get a new one free of charge, which I haven't had any problems with yet.

To save me the trouble of going to an Apple store I went online to see how much I could buy a new charger for it... I was expecting it to be about £10-15... Imagine my shock when I went on the Apple website and saw that it was in fact £60!! This is incredibly high for a charger and I'm glad that I have the warranty that covers it!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Good for beginners

Encore guitars are the number one brand for beginners. They are cheap, fair quality guitars that are aimed at starters, but are not suitable for anyone who is serious at playing guitar.

I bought my Encore KC3 on eBay for £100 about 4 years ago. It came in a starter pack, which included a guitar case, a strap, and a small BB Blaster 15watt practise amplifier. It basically contained everything that a beginner could possibly need, and for a relatively cheap price too!

The BB Blaster amplifier is definitely not a great model of amplifier, more of a practise, beginner amplifier. There are two sockets, one to plug in headphones if you wish, and the other one plugs in the lead from the guitar. There is an on/off button too. There are four knobs on the amplifier. The first of these controls the volume at which the sound comes out. Beef increases or decreases the amount of distortion of the sound. There's also another button with "ZAP!" written above it. This makes the sound blast out a little louder, the instruction manual just says "press this for more ZAP!" which is not the most helpful description! Tweak is used to alter the overall tone of the guitar. In the anticlockwise position you hear more of the midrange tones, and by turning it towards the clockwise position, you increase the bass and treble, and hear less of the midrange tones.

I bought my guitar in a bright red colour, and when I first saw it I was extremely pleased. It looked to be of excellent quality, and is a standard Fender Stratocaster copy. In picking the guitar out of the box I immediately noticed how heavy it was! I am not a very strong person so it was a lot heavier than I expected! I did actually have to buy a new guitar strap later on, as the weight of the guitar actually occasionally caused the guitar to fall out of the strap and onto my foot! The new strap was a lot stronger and I didn't have this problem again!

The guitar comes with 3 single coil pickups, a 5 way selector switch and a tremolo arm. It has 21 frets and a volume and two tone controls. It has a maple neck and the fretboard is rosewood, and it doesn't easily scratch, I have no scratches on the fretboard at all and I've owned this guitar for years!

One downside is that the guitar goes out of tune ridiculously easily! I only have to look at it and it's out of tune! The reason for this is due to the non-locking bridge, so as soon as you use the tremolo arm, you have to retune your guitar, which does get annoying. Sometimes the guitar has even gone out of tune mid-way through a song! As I only play casually once a week or so, it isn't too much of a problem for me.

I broke a string, and changing the strings was fairly simple to do, after searching for a Youtube video with instructions of how to do so. After changing the strings to the highest quality ones I could find I found that the guitar was a big better at staying in tune, but I still had a few problems!

The dials actually scratch the body of the guitar, which you can feel and hear when turning them.

The sound of the guitar is average, I guess. I've played much better guitars that have a much nicer sound to them, but this is ok for just practising. This is not a guitar that is suited for playing metal, or punk, but for anything else it is satisfactory.

I would say that this is mostly a guitar for practising, and definitely not one to use for performing or gigs, it would probably go out of tune half-way through!

If you're serious about learning to play guitar then don't buy this guitar! If you're just starting and want to know if you actually like guitar before spending a huge amount of money, then this is the one for you!

              Advantages

              • Reliability

              Disadvantages

              Great, portable, light mouse.

As much as I love using laptops for the convenience and portability of them, one thing that irritates me is the lack of a mouse! I find the trackpads to not be very reliable, especially when I am editing photos or something that requires precise movement of the curser. I therefore decided to look for a cheap mouse to use for these occasional tasks.

I didn't want a wireless mouse as I have owned one before and haven't been very impressed, the signal wasn't very constant, and the curser sometimes jumped from one side of the screen to the other. The other problem is having to replace batteries every few months, which gets tiresome after a while.

The M125 therefore seemed perfect. It is small, lightweight, is used via USB, but the really neat thing about it is that the USB cable actually retracts into the mouse itself! This saves space and reduces messy wires hanging around.

I purchased this mouse from Amazon 2 months ago for £15, and you can probably get it for a similar price, if not lower now.

The cable for the mouse comes in at 27 inches in length. This is just enough length for the cable to reach nicely around your laptop, without too much strain, and without excess cables lying around. The mouse itself has dimensions of 1.9 x 4.3 x 9 inches. Due to the fact that you don't need batteries for the mouse, it weighs only 6.4 ounces, which is really light for a mouse!

The mouse has three buttons and a scroll wheel in the centre. The scroll wheel is sometimes a bit tough to use for scrolling, it doesn't move as easily as other mice I have owned in the past. It is also quite tough to click the third button, which is the scroll wheel itself. This isn't a problem though as it actually prevents you from accidentally clicking whilst scrolling through. The other buttons work perfectly, not too stiff or too loose.

The mouse is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux computers. You don't have to install any software at all. You simply plug the mouse into the USB port and your computer automatically detects it and within about a minute it works!

The mouse is designed for ambidextrous people, which is a bonus, as I am right handed and my boyfriend is left handed, so we can both use it without any problems!

The mouse tracks very well too. It is very accurate and precise. If the computer has a LOT of processes running then it is sometimes a bit slower and choppier, but for normal day to day use, it is very good.

The cord is very easy to pull out, no problems at all with that, and once it has been pulled out, it stays out, and doesn't go shooting back in again! It also retracts very smoothly too back into the body of the mouse. Once it is retracted it is impossible to see, the cord is completely hidden.

I've even used this mouse without a mousepad and it's worked really well. I've used it whilst I've been relaxing on the sofa, and used it on the arm of the sofa, and it still tracked accurately and well!

All in all, this is a great mouse. It's is cheap but it works extremely well for the price you are paying. It would be great for travel, and it fits well into travel laptop bags. Really recommended.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Does what it's meant to. Looks good and kept my phone safe.

I bought my iphone last September. Everything I have ever owned has become scratched and marked within a few weeks! Seeing as I was paying so much for my iphone, I was determined to not let the same thing happen to this! Therefore, at the shop I immediately bought this case for it! I wasn't too keen on the case at first, but it was the best one there so I bought it.

I bought the case for £10 from O2. The case itself is made of hard rubber, and has a sparkly look to it. It has a really nice feel to it, but it's not so rubbery that it feels like those horrible silicon cases that I hate! It has a hole at the back for the camera. The case itself is made out of two parts and attaches to the phone by sliding onto the top and bottom simultaneously, and then clip over each other securely. It differs to other cases as it actually covers the metal part of the phone, on the front, around the edge of the screen. Other cases only covers the back part, and so leave the metal part open to be scratched. It is quite thick and does make the iphone a lot thicker than it actually is, and so is harder to fit in your pocket.

It came with a free screen protector too that I immediately put on my phone. The screen protector wasn't very good, as soon as I put it on there were a few air bubbles. After peeling it off and putting it back on even more carefully the bubbles were even worse! I left it for a few weeks but the bubbles were really irritating and made it hard to see the screen. I took it off then. There are much better screen protectors out there but as this one was free I can't really complain!

This case has lasted me well, I used it for about the first 3 months of owning my iphone, and after a while, the top surface started to rub off, and the layer underneath was much darker so it looked a bit silly. Other than that, when I removed the case, the phone had absolutely no scratches whatsoever, and was in immaculate condition.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Would try others before this brand.

Not the contact lenses for me!

When I first decided to try contact lenses earlier this year, I was given a week supply of Focus Dailies as well as another brand to try, to see which would be best suited for me.

              ~~About the lenses~~

Focus Dailies are daily disposable contact lenses. This means that once you have finished wearing them for the day, you simply throw them away and the next day open up another packet.

              ~~Packaging~~

The contact lenses come in quite a plain looking cardboard box. The lenses themselves are individually packaged in a small plastic circular tray with foil on top. These come in strips of 5 but are perforated along the edges so you can separate the lenses, and keep, for example, two in your bag in case you need them.

The plastic tray which the contact lens sits is filled with a saline solution to keep the contact lens clean.

The contact lenses are usually sold as a month's supply, which is about £25.

~~How to use the contact lenses~~

At the opticians I was taught how to take the lenses in and out. It was an extremely stressful and fiddly process and took me about 30 minutes to finally manage to do it myself!

Make sure you wash and dry your hands thoroughly before inserting or taking out your contact lenses! If you don't wash them beforehand then you could have all sort of bacteria on your fingers which can easily be transmitted into your eyes. Also, water can cause eye infections if you have wet hands and put in the contact lenses, so take care to dry your hands before doing so.

To put the contact lenses in, you simply peel the foil back (be careful because the saline solution can go everywhere!). With your index finger push down into the container and touch the lens. It should stick to the surface of your finger. If it doesn't then carefully use the side of the container to scoop it out! Once you have done this, carefully rotate the lens on your finger, until it is in a bowl shape. Once you have done this use your other hand to hold open your eye and carefully push the lens onto the surface. Take care not to let it touch your eyelashes or it will stick to your finger and not attach to your eye!

A few times whilst I used Focus Dailies I actually lifted up my finger to put the lens on my eye, and the lens fell off onto the floor!! A complete waste and I had to open another one!

To take the lens out, make sure you wash and dry your hands before. Then you hold open both your eyelids and with your thumb and index finger of your other hand, pinch gently on your eyeball and you should feel the contact lens "pop" out, and onto your finger. You should then dispose of it in the bin.

You get a lot of saline solution still on the lens when you do insert it, and it does make your eye water fiddling around trying to get the lens in, so make sure you apply make up after you have put the lens in, or it will run everywhere!

              ~~My experience~~

I found these lenses to be comfortable to wear for the short-term. After a few hours of wearing them my eyes started to feel dry and sore, and I would be dying to take them out!!

They were fairly easy to put in, although, as I mentioned before, they didn't stick to my finger very well and often fell off onto the carpet!

I liked the fact that you could separate the individual lenses from each other, this was useful if I was going out somewhere wearing glasses, but needed to change to contact lenses half way through the day! It saved me having to take a whole strip with me!

I decided to go with the other contact lens brand after this, as they kept my eyes moisturised and were much more comfortable to wear for a whole day, which is the length of time for which I use them for.

              ~~Would I recommend them?~~

I don't think I would. I have since discovered much better brands that are comfortable and easier to use, as well as cheaper.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Good when you are suffering with infections

~~What Brolene Can Be Used For ~~

Brolene can be used to treat mild infections of the eye, such as mild conjunctivitis or blepharitis. It can also be used if you have scratched your eye or irritated it, and it's taking a long time to calm down.

I had never heard of blepharitis before and I doubt that many other people have either! This all changed about 5 years ago. I woke up with that horrible feeling you get when you have an eyelash in your eye. Everytime I blinked I would feel like something was there scratching on the surface of my eye. I tried washing it out, rubbing my eye like crazy, I was pulling out my eyelids and getting someone to see if there was anything that was trapped there... Nothing! My eyes were both extremely red and sore, very irritated indeed.

After it had been there for 24 hours I decided that it was probably something worse than just a simple scratch of my eye, and I popped down to the local chemist to get the pharmacist to have a look. He immediately diagnosed me with blepharitis and told me to buy some Brolene.

              ~~What is blepharitis?~~

It is basically a condition where your eyelid gets very inflamed and swollen. Once you get it once, it does tend to reoccur quite often, and I suffer with it about once a year or so. The most common symptom of blepharitis is itching, irritation and burning of your eye, along with the feeling that you have something in there that you can't get rid of! It's mainly caused by bacteria entering your eye and causing a mild infection and irritation of your eye.

              ~~The eye drops~~

Brolene contains the active ingredient propamidine isetionate which is an antibacterial agent. It works by preventing the bacteria causing the infection to grow and spread. The bacteria left over will eventually die or will be killed by your antibodies, therefore removing the infection.

I bought the bottle from boots for £4, it's an over the counter item so you will have to ask the pharmacist for it. The bottle of eye drops lasts for approximately 28 days, so make sure to throw it away after this amount of time.

              ~~Directions for use~~

It's quite easy to use, especially if you have used eye drops before, it's just common sense. You should wash your hands beforehand, and then simply tip your head back and gently squeeze one to two drops into your eye. Make sure not to let the bottle touch your eyeball, as the infection could spread to the bottle and you could reinfect yourself with each dose!

The typical dosage for this is 4 times a day for 2-3 days or as long as it takes for the infection to go away. You should not use these for over 3 days. If your infection hasn't cleared up in this time then you should go to the doctor and get some antibiotics.

Once you have taken your dosage you should make sure you store the bottle in the fridge. This helps to keep the eye drops fresh... (It also makes them feel nicer if they are really cold, but maybe that's just because I'm weird!)

              ~~Did it help?~~

I have to say, it really did! My infections of blepharitis always seem to clear up within about 24 hours using them, and I've never had to visit the doctor because of this. As soon as I get an irritation in my eye, and I can feel that an infection is coming on I nip straight down to the chemists and crisis averted!

              ~~Side Effects~~

i haven't experienced any side effects whilst using Brolene, but as with all medicines there is always a danger of having an undesirable reaction. The instruction leaflets states that these are rare and that the only reported reaction is a bit of sensitivity or stinging when the drops are applied.

You should seek medical advice if you have any problems with your vision or if your symptoms get worse whilst using the drops.

This product should not be used if you know you are sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients.

              ~~Who is it suitable for?~~

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding then you should seek approval from your doctor before using these drops.

If you wear contact lenses then you should note that you cannot wear them whilst you are using Brolene. Having said that, you shouldn't really wear them when you have an eye infection in general as this can aggravate it and make the symptoms worse.

It does sometimes make your eyes a bit blurry when you have applied the drops so if you are planning on driving or operating machinery then you should not do so straight after using the drops.

You should inform your pharmacist if you are taking any other medications as they can advice whether it is safe to take them together.

              ~~Would I recommend it?~~

I would definitely recommend it! Whilst it is quite a lot of money to spend £4 on something that I will use for 2 days, it helps to clear up the beginnings of my infection without me having to make a trip down to my doctor's surgery. The eye drops are soothing and help with the symptoms immediately, and clear up my problems in no time at all!

              Thank you for reading!

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

Nice way to wake yourself up in the morning!

This is one of my favourites of the Original Source shower gels. It's unique to the others because it really makes your skin tingle. I think this may be the tea-tree that does this, but it really helps you to wake up in the the morning with this strange sensation - It took me a while to actually get used to the feeling, but now I love it!

The gel inside is a bright green colour, and smells wonderful and minty fresh! It leaves your skin smelling really fresh and clean afterwards which is great to have for the rest of the day ahead of you! The bottle itself is clear so you can see the level of shower gel that you have left in the bottle. The gel itself is dispensed via the black lid at the bottom, you just squeeze it out through the hole. I like shower gels which stand up that way, so that the gel is close to the opening, it means I don't have to waste time trying to shake and squeeze the gel to the bottom of the bottle, as it's already there!

The gel itself really lathers up well, and it gets quite foamy which I love! It doesn't take too much gel to do so either, so it helps the bottle to last longer, as you don't have to use as much. A few seconds after you rub it into your skin you start to feel it tingle! It's a really unique sensation but one that really awakens you, it makes your skin go all cold, but in a nice way! It is a nice contrast to the hot water.

The shower gel smells wonderful. It really does smell natural, and the bottle states that there are about 7000 mint leaves that go into one bottle, which is crazy!

My boyfriend used to use this too but he has sensitive skin and had to stop using it eventually - The tingles were too much for him and he couldn't take it! Because of this I would say to be cautious if your skin is extra sensitive.

The bottle of shower gel normally costs me just under £2, and will last me around a month, which I think is great value! You can buy it from most pharmacists or supermarkets, and they sometimes have special offers too so you can get buy one, get one free!

                Advantages

                • Reliability

                Disadvantages

                Look super cool!

I'd heard really good things about these headphones, and my sister had nothing but good things to say about the Skullcandy brand so I decided to buy them. I bought them for £49.99 from HMV. I have seen them in shops and also online and are quite easy to get hold of. Prices range from betwem £50 and £74. They actually come with a beanie hat too and also a travel bag. You wear the headphones over the beanie hat and they actually clip onto the hat, but the earpieces are touching your ears still, if that makes sense! You can clip and unclip the headphones as you please so when it gets warmer or you are inside, you can wear the headphones on their own.

The headphones are all black on the outside, with a silver part connecting the speakers to the body of the headphones. The inside is tiger print which is a little different, but adds a nice touch to it! It isn't very noticeable once you are wearing the headphones, but you can see it a bit by your ears. Theres also a volume control turn on the headphones themselves which is useful as you don't have to keep reaching into your pocket to alter the volume of your ipod! They have a LOT of padding around the ears, which is really nice and really comfortable! It protects your ears too! The cable is just the right size too if you have your music player in your pocket - Not too long, and not too short!

These headphones would mostly appeal to skaters and lovers of extreme sports. A travel bag is provided for if you want to take them on the snow with you. I am neither a skater or an extreme sportsperson! I just thought they looked extremely cool!

These are compatible with the new ipad, as well as all versions of the iphone, all ipod touches, all ipod nanos, all ipod classics, and all older ipods! So basically everything! They come with a black wire to put into the ipod, and I do wish this could have been white as i love the white apple branding... But it would look a bit out of place with these headphones, I must admit!

The sound quality is really really good! There is just the right amount of bass so that you can hear the whole song above it, but not too much that it hurts your ears! You can really hear clarity in all the instruments and it sounds fantastic at really loud volumes! Although does leave my ears ringing after a while of listening to it!

Overall these are great headphones! The sound quality is brilliant and they look extremely cool and stylish, especially when you wear them with the beanie hat!
