When I bought this sat nav 3 years ago it was more expensive then what it is these days in Halfords. Also 3 years ago I would have a few more near misses with other xars due to being distracted looking down at maps!! The tom tom range has revolutionised my journeys and made travvelling easier and less stressful with my partner.
I chose a tomtom over garmin for example, because tomtom for me was the original model and was stylish compact and there were lots of updates avaliable at the time. The model I chose was the basic model, which was perfect for my weekly use as opposed to daily use. It was also within the price budget that I was willing to pay. I paid £129.99 for this model 3 years ago (as I came accross the receipt last week after filing receipts from christmas etc) but I think these days that is more priced around the £90
In three years, many models have come onto the market and though I have looked at them in passingm they do not offer anything bigger or better than what I currently have on my tomtom model. Like the old models and the new, both tomtoms are charged via the cigaretter lighter, and although I cannot speak for the newer models, the older ones do not tend to hold their charge particularly well, in fact probably for not longer than 15 minutes off their charge.
The screen is a good size and its easy to be able to see whilst driving. The attachment that keeps the tomtom to the window is not fantastic though, and often causes a distraction when it falls off during my drive. Unlike the sticky thing, the contrast of colours (mostly blue, green, grey, yellow and white) work well together to mean that the details on the screen are clear and easy to follow and do not distract when you become used to them (though at first they are quite mesmerizing and you feel the need to watch it as you pass road names and see if you can catch it out!) There are also day or night modes. The day colours are decribed as above, but the night mode is darker blues and purples. These are easily changed at the touch of a button, as are volumes to adjust (or a sync to engine noise, to get louder or quieter depending car noise levels), and also voices to direct you. I believe that celebrity voices are also avaliable to download to direct you, as are accents, for example, australian says "at the rotary take the first exit".
This tomtom also allows you to save your home location so you dont keep having to enter it. This is easier and more convenient and saves alot of time and chance of error. I can go somewhere that I do not know my way home from well, turn on my satnav and press a button that says direct home and off it goes. It is also easy to use and easy to find your way somewhere using it. This can be either from entering a postcode, a street name or a city etc. It is able to locate petrol stations and restaurants and fast food chains etc, and you can even store these favourites to direct you purposefully to them from the minute you leave your house.
I feel like Im rambling now so am going to stop! But this tomtom is fantastic and I would highly recommend
Dualit toasters are stylish and sexy. With a mirrored and cream style they can suit any kitchen big or small or modern or tired. We recently upgraded our dualit from the 2 slice version to the 4 slice version due to our greater needs and the amount of bread that we eat and the lack of patience that we have! Dualit are the original of these style toasters, and although other companies that i could name try to copy there style, they just dont quite meet the same quality. Unlike some, the crumb tray is solid and not flimsy and rather than spilling crumbs everywhere it makes for an easy emptying process. The slots of a Dualit and tall and wide rather than other brands which are just about suited for the smaller slices that Warburtons offer for example. Also unlike other brands a Dualit doesnt throw your toast up in there air when it is ready. It does not have the spring effect and instead just countdowns using the timer when the heaters switch off, and then keeps the bread in the toaster for it to stay warm rather than other toasters that pop it and then let it go cold so your butter doesnt melt.
These are expensive but as far as im concerned, if other brands are making efforts to copy their style then even they must want one!! Besides, if you are savvy and buy one during a debenhams 25% off event or an argos sale then you should get better value for money.
A large wide white box which looks flipping ugly in my partners kitchen on the worktop. Despite its looks, the white plastic makes it durable and its size just makes it appear a quality product. It is quite heavy though, so trying to subtly hide it in a cupboard is not as easy as you believe! Its control panel is angled and has large squar etouch button controls. These allow you to choose the type of dough, the length of time baking, size of the loaf, type of crust and the option to configure a time delay. The LCD display shows the times left of baking, minute by minute countdown til the loaf is ready. When its ready the breadmaker beeps 9 times but that is all. If you miss those 9 beeps then you dont know that it is ready and you wait around like a muppet when it was already done 10mins ago!! The bread does cool quicker when left to cool on a wire baking tray as advised in the instructions. The instructions are easy to follow and though some of the techniques mentioned arent as easy as they sound, they just take a little time to get the knack of them. Fastbake programming are not great, they make be faster but they dont rise aswell. I prefer a large loaf with a medium crust. Which takes around 5minutes to prepare with instructions and then around 5hours to bake. In conclusion, I love this breadmaker, and all the manuals and instructions that help me bake great smelling bread!
We bought ours in the lakeland sale for £6.99. It is roughly 33x100cm and perfect for lining oven or baking. It is heat resistant up to 260 degrees and dishwasher resistant. Its non stick and saves on the silver foil. Packaged in a long purple/pink box, my liner was a funny brown colour amd resembled a rubbery/plasticy material. It can also be used to line microwaves to prevent boiled over custard messing a recently cleaned microwave. It can also be used to line worktops and is much easier than scraping dried pastry and dough off worktops. It says on the packaging that it can last for upto 5 years use and with or without a dishwasher you can always dampen and wash it down with a sponge and some fairy. I think that you can buy these in a smaller size aswell, but if not they are easily cut with some scissors
I am not an elaborate girl, and i usually do not like being a sheep and following in thebig designer brands, but on this occasion i succumbed! I cant remember how I was introduced to this brand, or more so how my partner was as he first introduced it to me, but I would recommend it to anyone.
I currently use this and kenzo flower on regular alternatives. This fragance shouts quality and expense and a treat to use.
Its bottle is high quality, a cute little rectangular box with lid and easy to carry around in your handbag on a night on. It has a silver top which oozes class and style and looks great on my dressing table, or wherever else i leave it round the house.
It is rather pricey for a perfume. I think we paid £42 in boots (but think boots points) and i think i was also given a body lotion for free as part of a set.
The perfume lasts for a good 6hours at a good strength. Not too overpowering but not too weak either not to be noticed or commented on. It is primarily a woody scent, spicy and warm with fragrances divising from 4 countries; indonesia, france, thailand and India. Worn well either for the day or in the evening.
My partner and I had been used to our Sky+ box for nearly when 3 years, when I left full time work in favour of being a full time mum. We therefore had a lower income and had to review our expedniture swapping pay per view television for something simpler and more cost effective.
With the digital switchover looming ta Humax box seemed a good option. We had never heard of this brand before, nor knew anything about it but soon relaised it was as simple as a Sky box yet for only a one off purchase cost.
The box is simple and stylish. Black and so versatile for most homes and matching the blu ray player and HD tv that we already owned. The set up was easy, the remote non crowded and easily labelled to find media (stored programmes) and guide and a few other options at the bottom of it. We were also able to set up our remote to control our blu ray box and television.
On set up we instantly had access to HD channels and all the freeview channels that were available, and also radio stations. We began recording and saving to hard drive immediately, and found the storage capabilities good, able to record a huge volume of programme taking up little space.
We also found the internet connections easy to use and helpful, though we did have to change internet provider to fully benefit as we did not have a fast enough connection to view iplayer without it jumping.
Overall, I wouldnt recommend for elder people who are used to basics, but anyone who wishes to save money on pay per view tv yet still have the facility to record and watch HD etc, i would definitely say to buy one
My partner and I live in a swanky penthouse apartment in a large town overlooking a cathedral. With this setting, many of our friends like to come over for drinks and nibbles on a regular occasion and sit and watch the lights shine over such a historic piece of art and architecture. We enjoy hosting, and more so enjoy people commenting on what a lovely house we live in and what lovely hosts we are. We like our music to be clear and have a good bass so we can really blare it to get a good quality. I listen to r n b and my partner listens to classical etc whilst he works from home in his office. This b and o looks fantastic in our aprtment. It is stylish and chic and the remote which came with our b and o tele also works for our hi fi.
After having this model for nearly 3 years now, we are starting to notice that it is struggling to read discs first time and that sometimes it just spins for the first few times and then on the 3rd time finally registers the cd is there.
We bought this tele for our second reception room and with the digital switchover imminent, it seemed a great solution as already had the channels all built in. At £300 it was a little more than I had anticipated but 6 months on and I have no regret to either its style or quality, and it complements our room in both style and usage perfectly.
Originally the large manual was daunting, with that many instructions for a teles use, who wouldn't. But at set up the tele seemed to search for channels itself and store and it came with all leads and cables you could ever need.
The tele could either be wall mounted or used on a stand, personally we needed it on a stand to cover the wires and so bought ourselves a large pine unit.
The picture quality was clear and concise. What you would expect from a HD ready tv, though we do not have any experience with the HD quality due to not being able to support this. We use it quite frequently for music videos playing through it to echo around the house and we have always been quite impressed with its non tinny sound quality and is unmuffled.
This tele boast a LED backlight which means a clear picture comes as standard and it is mentioned on their website that this feature is energy saving. I cant say I have noticed any difference to my bills but I shall take Toshibas word for it, after they have improved and greatened our tele watching experience!
The only book I have ever read by Sebastian Faulks is Birdsong. This book, I found slow starting but after a while of keeping at it, it became addictive and hard to put down. The story explores the true meaning of love, friendship and support whilst confronting and dealing with the difficulties and emotive subjects that can affect us all in our lifetimes. Sebastian Faulks demosntreates sensitivity and research into his writing of psychiatric and insanity issues and his writing is simply meaning you do not need qualifications to read and relate to, but just an enquiring mind and plenty of time. Faulks writes in a way which is effortless in its beauty and descriptions and the characters and all things relating to them and their backgrounds and surroundings become realistic and entertaining.
Out of the two novels I have read, I did prefer Birdsong but this was written in a different voice to that. I am looking forward to experiencing a Sebastian Faulks novel again in the future and this novel is definitely worth a read
this microwave is quick, effecient (1000w) and safe to use. the style is modern chic and looks fantastic. It boasts a highly polished feature with a glass finish. It is quite hard to keep clean and requires much vinegar and or glass cleaner. It does do exactly what it claims to though and rgeradless whether it be making scra, bled egg or heating milk for your bedtime cocoa it does it stylishly. I have had mine for just under a year now, and I personally can recommend a panasonic and that i am rather bias to its products now with a cemcorder and a television both providing me with great quality. My only negative would be its cost. After all this is a microwave, as chic and sexy as it is, it only heats food and drink like microwaves all do and maybe is not worth the recommended £220 for such a pleasure. But if you have mnoney and qish to purchase from a well known reputable brand then panasonic is one well worth the money as its customer service and warranty is next to none.
This phone was bought on a wimb for a friend who was after a new touch screen phone. Unable to justify an iphone I bought a Tocco. Its small, slim features resembles that of an iphone, it boasts many "widgets" such as calendar and organiser aswell as the alarms and timers. It also has a simple easy to use media player. And in particular I was favourite to the FM radio which was for use with the provided headphones. To begin with I was incredibly impressed with this phone until about 9 months in when the phone started to become unresponsive and the touch screen became complicated and slow. The phones camera was not particularly brilliant but acceptable for a phone standard for simple point and click photos. Many accessories were available for this phone, I bought a leather flip case, a must for protectiveness but also not great looking nor particularly stylish.
I bought this camera for my birthday in November, I gave it much deliberation and decided on a Sony purely for its brand. I found this camera very simple to use and slim and versatile for fittinginto any pocket. The battery life was good and the telephoto feature a credit to its brand showing thought to the diabled user.
The flash is very impressive, bright at all times and producing some good images. However this is also a disadvantage. It sometimes creates over exposure. The pause when you take a picture is also frustrating. There is a 1-2 second dleay in when it takes the picture from when you push the button.
Overall, the camera is good for travel but not great in the quality it produces and to be honest there are more cheaper and better quality cameras avaliable. Disappointing for a brand such as this one with such a decent reputation. Nothing special
I bought this product for my boyfriend last month for his birthday. Bought at half price from Currys, I also purchased the cover from them at just2.50/month which allows me to get product placement and is a contract cancellable at any time.
I chose a Panasonic as we had just purchased a Panasonic HD television and were very pleased with both the product and the aftersales, the fact this camera was on sale also swayed me!
I was very impressed with this camera at first use. For the price I paid, its quality was secondary to none. Very impressive. My boyfriend still to this day thinks it cost a fortune!
It has high definition screen and along with the 3.05 megapixels the difference from non high definition cameras is astounding. It boasts a12x optical zoom, of really good quality, and the output is not as distorted as you would expect with a camera for this price.
We bought a 16gb card with this so can store 10hours of HD video. The battery life supports this and is helped by the accessories you can buy to charge such as an in car charger etc.
The actual device itself is very light and quite small in size which is handy for carrying around discreetly and the sleek black colour is very stylish and appealing. The handheld strap is a comfy fit and adjustable depending on hand size. It is for either gender, I would not say this is particularly male or female unlike some styles you can encounter, and I would say that both my partner and I enjoy its use equally.
This is able to link up to my HD television and produce some exception on screen footage. The quality id immense, and with our small child, provides memories I will treasure forever.
I first used this when someone gave me a gift set of Sanctuary products for my birthday. It came as part of the set in a little sachet and from the minute I used it I would not use anything else.
Its really is a salt scrub, and is quite coarse and quite large salts but its feeling is amazing under warm water. You can practically feel the exfoliation in use and the smell is divine.
It is around £8 for a resealable jar of salt scrub, and about £1.20 for a sachet of it online. For personally I tend to use the sachets once a week. The advantage being that a) it feels like a treat and b) you can get the right amount to use in one session ie one sachet += one use.
The results of this scrub speak for themselves. I totally notice a difference in my arms and my thighs using this. They just feel smoother and softer immediately and my boyfriend always knows when its my "treat day"!
We bought this gate from asda in its baby and toddler week and when everything was half price. It was recommended at £25.99 but picked up for just 11.99. Up until this purchase we had been making do with just telling our child about their boundaries and where they can and cannot go and what they could and couldn't touch. However, as they grow older and when there is only so long you can leave the housework for, you need to know that your child is safe even when you leave the room for the bathroom or to answer the phone!
We use this gate for doorways and stairs. The packaging is not that large and do fit, just, on the passenger seat in a mini for short journeys from the shop to home. We had no issue fitting this gate to our widths, but in the box contains advice that extensions can be bought for this product to increase its lengths to fit non standard door ways.
On set up, the gates are stylish, white and look quite smart. Ours stay up permanently and other than becoming part of my cleaning plans with a quick wash down weekly, they are good use to keep th dog either in or out of certain rooms aswell.
The gates themselves have an additional lock at the bottom, unlike other brands. They are durable and my son has yet to be able to pull them down, despite the odd shaking habit. It may also be noted that time to time we do tend to check the fixtures and fittings just to make sure that everything is still safe and fit for purpose
