Summer time and the water fights begin. Who has the best gun?
I thought the NERF gun would be the best due to the foam bullet firing guns they make... I was wrong the Nerf Super Soaker Electrostorm is not the best. The gun is a small hand held pistol that you fill from below the barrel at the front of the gun, just remove the cap and pour in the water (you wont get allot in there).
To fire the gun just pull the trigger and it will fire blasts of water up to 25ft, I say blast but all it does is fire a fine (weedy) shot of water out, if you hold the trigger down it will fire a constant blast of this fine weedy water and is not at all impressive and will take ages to get anyone wet.
Compared to the cheap standard pump action water pistols that fire huge amounts of water with one pull of the pump I am going to have to say this gun is NOT good to the point of saying it was a waste of money, it costs between £6 and £12 and then you still have to buy 4 x AA batteries.
Was not happy and would not recommend this product, stick to the giant pump action guns and don't be impressed with the design or it being fully automatic because you will be disappointed and the kids will argue over the water pistols...Not good.
I get quite bad shaving rash due to having sensitive skin and also when I shave my head I get a really irritable neck which is really uncomfortable, this product will take the heat away from any burning sensation without leaving a greasy film on your skin.
Just shake the bottle well and squirts three squirts into your hand and rub together and apply to the sensitive area, do not rub hard when you are applying or you may just make the irritation more irritable with the friction, then just leave to cool. This cooling feeling is due to the Active Comfort System which is quick absorbing, gentle alcohol free cream with pure Chamomile and vitamin E in it.
It is not a moisturiser but does make your skin feel smoother but at the same time the wrinkles won't go away with this product.
I cannot stress how much this changed my life, from being uncomfortable after a shave or a hair cut to knowing this will work within a few minutes and with constant use it will take the edge of any shave you have in the future. Do not get it mixed up with the cheaper Nivea products such as the moisturiser creams because they will not work to ease the burn.
Price wise this can be bought on the internet between £3 and £6.29 in the high street shops. Remember to get the one with SENSITIVE on the packaging and if you can some come with a top you can squirt the product from instead of the screw top lid.
Enjoy the feeling.
Kids love them and will play together inside or OUTSIDE for hours or until they lose all their bullets, I must warn you that someone will get hurt, no matter how much fun they are one of the kids will get a shot to the head at some point and come to you crying. This said they are still great fun and to see kids of this day and age playing pretend war is a breath of fresh air instead of just sat in front of the computer screen.
Nerf Nstrike Recon CS-6
This gun is detachable it comes in 3 separate snap on parts, the main part is the pistol, a hand held gun with the slid on top to cock the gun (load the bullets) and a socket to fit the cartridge which holds 6 of the foam bullets, there is a orange slid clip by the trigger on each side of the gun that you slid back and release the clip and when you want to load the clip you just push the cartridge in the socket and it will make a CLICKING noise.
The barrel is then fitted to the front of the gun by lining up the attachment sockets (just turn the barrel to your left a bit and it will line up then attach by turning it right again and it will click into place. To release it just turn the barrel to the left.
The arm rest fits on the back of the pistol by just sliding it on, to release if there is an orange slid clip on the left hand side of the arm rest just slid it down and pull the handle off.
included is a muzzle and flip-up sight for aiming precision and a dual-mode light beam with red-dot accurate targeting that's perfect for night, it basically shoots a beam of lights out so you can line up your target.
They are great fun but watch out for foam bullets getting jammed in the gun from cocking it too hard but (pulling back on the silver slide on the top of the pistol) but if this does happen just pull the slid back and release the foam bullet.
Prices range between £20 and £24 but look around and you will find quite good discounts due to xmas coming soon.
I purchased this TV from Argos about a year ago, the reviews were good for this TV and it was in the sale at the time for less than £300 so I bought it as our previous TV was so out of date.
The LG 32 inch screen - the picture quality was not straight away up to my usual standard (I have quite high standards for TV watching) but after having a fiddle with the different screen set ups I got it to a really good watchable standard.
There are two scart lead sockets so I could wire in the Blu ray player and run SKY through it easily if not there are the five sockets for the wire attachments.
The sound quality I wasn't that impressed with due to the speakers being built in to the TV screen it self so when watching a movie to TV I would have to turn it up to 30 to hear properly and when the adverts came on I would need to turn it down again. If you can wire the TV through your stereo this will probably solve the problem.
The reason I gave this product a medium rating was only once I got SKY HD, it improved the picture and sound immediately and made watching the TV fun again.
The hand controller is L9 inches by W2inches and easy to use and easy to switch between Blu ray and normal TV.
It comes with a stand that you will need to build, so read the instructions properly because if you are like me and jump straight in and don't read them the stand will not hold the TV, once read the stand was solid.
Overall a stylish TV but could do with the speakers being built on the outside.

My eldest son for many years has asked for Nerf guns, he has them all and the nerf n-strike maverick rev-6 is the most child friendly one around.
It is about 11inches in length and has a great comfortable handle grip and is very easy to load, all you have to do is press the black button on the left side of gun to release the six barrels and the you push the ammunition into the front of the barrels with the rubber safety heads facing forwards, then just push the barrel back into place (you are ready to play now)
To cock the gun (or set the gun up to fire) just pull back on the silver and black slide on the top of the gun until it makes a clicking noise (it is now ready to fire) Pull the trigger and the foam bullet will fire.
It will automatically click round to the next foam bullet in the barrel and you fire again, there are six barrels.
The down side to this gun and any other Nerf guns is that all round your house for many years to come you will be finding foam bullets everywhere!!
Watch out they the kids don't do head shot as the bullets come out at great speed and will injure anyone that gets one in the face.
Take care with it and have fun....we do.
This walker is the one where they hang on to it and walk and if your child is anything like mine he will do the SUPERMAN for a while and face plant whilst practising. It has front lights / toy panel that includes a miniature keyboard which plays a few annoying tunes ( but the kids will love them) as well as other buttons to press / light up / make noises.
We found that it was really stable for our son to hang onto, although the wheels do move quite freely so you do have to hang onto little ones that can't walk fast enough but it will come to them eventually and to see them walk without your aid is the best.
The lights panel detaches so if your child doesn't want to walk he/she can lie on the floor and still play. It has 2 volume levels (loud and really loud) as well as an off switch - essential if you don't want to go mad.
This has lasted though one child and is still in great condition, ready for our next one. And given that it is an electronic musical toy and it still lives with us everyone one still loves each other.
Prices can range from £30 to £15 it all depends on where you look.
Let's Rock Elmo
Sesame Street I was brought up on a staple diet of this, big bird etc and now my kids are going through it. Sesame Street has always taught and encourages children to sing, laugh, play, dance, count remember the Count " 1 agh agh 2 agh agh" , so naturally my kids didn't have a chance to get away from all the characters.
I decided to get my nephews Elmo for their Xmas and the boys won't stop singing and dancing and making music with Elmo (my sister NOT happy with all the noise), Cookie Monster and Grover. I love how the different elements of music - the drums, the tambourine, the guitar, the keyboard and the microphone all come together. I also love how Elmo sings songs that I and my nephews know and love... not to mention, how everything works beautifully and "magically" together. When I first saw how the guitar syncs up to Elmo, I was blown away. I thought it was so cool and so much fun for my nephews to play with.
Price range can start at £80 and go down to as little as £27, ARGOS is doing their 3 for 2 deal and this Elmo is included.
My son watches Toy Story it was a fatal mistake to get the box set but I will learn, he watches the movie over and over, so we decided to buy him the Woody doll. I've never seen him more excited over a toy. He has taken Woody to bed with him every night, if he sits him down somewhere, he'll ask "where's Woody?" and then he'll go look for him. The hat falls off easily AND SO DOES THE HEAD i have noticed on review sites that this has happened allot, so it's a constant picking up the hat and head and putting it back on, but other than that, we are very happy with Woody. As far as the hat recognition feature, he will only recognize his hat is missing if you have turned him on. ( battery located under Woody's tush) He'll even say more phrases when he's turned on. My son plays with him all the time....which before we got Woody it was Thomas Thomas Thomas all the time. He even does more creative play with Woody. The manufacturer recommends ages 4 up, but with all YOUNG children you have to be proactive, they need to be monitored at all times especially when the head comes off. I don't recommend showing a young child where the battery pack is located, so when I turn Woody off and on, I do it when my son isn't watching. He has no clue there is an off/on switch.
Overall its a fun toy to play with and the little dude loves it.
After scrapping my old dvd player i decided to go with a blu ray player, there are so many out there ranging from £100 to £600 and i hit the internet hard to check the reviews, finally i came across the Panasonic DMP-BD30EG-K which was priced at the lower end i think i paid £130 from ARGOS. It is a good player for your money it upscales your standard DVD's to almost same quality as some Blu Ray discs (I didnt realise blu ray players did this) Plays Divx, but due to High Speed, quality processor they can appear jerky when film scenes 'Pan or Zoom' on some discs (shows up any defects on your downloads) but I got a high speed cable that didnt cost allot but improved the picture quality, I still think it depends on the movie you are watching and what film company has made that film, I know it sounds mad but I have watched action films that were jerky and action film that didnt jerk once both were running at the same speed??
Needless to say Blu Ray discs are top class when the bigger budget Films have good effects on them but due to good upscaling average films don't appear that much better than standard DVD's. Being Panasonic it also plays your RAM discs to really top class. Only minus point is it can take several seconds to read and play a Blu Ray disc when first inserted, but i have noticed in many reviews that the load time on the cheaper models can be a little longer, i dont mean 5 mins but a few seconds so do you your home work and check other reviews, I came to the conclusion that this player loaded allot faster than others in its price range.
Overall the player does the job and plays my dvd's well and as for the sound quality i very rarely get to play the tv loud due to only being able to watch my movies when everyone else is in bed....kids who would have em hey!!
I love this furniture - Just before the baby was born we decided that it was time to get the baby cot, wardrobe and chest of draws with the changer, we left it late due to a miscarriage before.
The quality of the wood is solid and doesn't feel flimsy like some other cots do, it's very sturdy - the cot size is L145cm, W76cm, H96cm and weighs 24kg and has an adjustable base for when your child gets older and starts to stand up in the cot and one of the funniest things it has is a teething rail, I thought it was just a bit of the packaging but no its for the baby to chew on I had never heard of that before. The mattress does not come included but ARGOS has lots in the size you are after W69, L139, D7cms it's up to you which brand you go for. Also before i forget the cot converts to a junior bed when baby gets big enough to fit it.
Overall the cot was very easy to put up (and I HATE flat pack furniture) but you will need another person to help you put it together or at least hand you pieces of it.
The wardrobe, yet again the build quality is superb and is the same quality wood as the cot and chest of draws, the wardrobe size is smaller than an average one due to it being used for children's clothing H160cm, W89cm and D51cm and has a hanging rail as well as shelves lower down to store clothing or as we use it for nappy wipes and nappies. Yet again a two person job to fit.
Finally the chest of draws are rock solid and has a changing area built into the top of it (you will need to get a changing matt due to one not being supplied) The three draws are a good size and you can fit lots of clothing in them and will do for when your child gets older, the measurements are H90cm, W89cm and D52cms.
The complete set fits nicely into our box room at home and will be fine for our child as he gets older, the build quality will last and its stylish art deco look suits most nurseries.
The price of all this from ARGOS is £500 but wait if you can till after Xmas as they knocked two hundred pounds of it last year.
After my wife informed me that our oven had stopped working and was not heating anything other than by the internal light I decided to go out and get a new oven. After looking over the internet for a cheap substitute I came across the BUSH AE6BF from ARGOS, I spoke to our engineer about this model and he said most brand names are ok due to being able to get the parts easily.
Right let's get to the point the BUSH AE6BF for £149.99 is a great oven for the price its fan assisted and holds 56 litre capacity and is energy efficiency rating A, it heats up really quickly but watch out if you have small children as the glass front to it also gets very hot if the oven has been on a while. There are lots of settings the grill works really well and comes with a grill pan and a fiddly handle (but don't all the cheap ones).
The oven itself needs to be hard wired into a cooker point in the wall and on its own circuit so you will need to get someone in to fit it as I did.
Overall it is very well priced and can be bought from Argos and a decent affordable oven.
What can i say... Angie Sage in my mind is going to be the next J. K. Rowling.
I for fun and a bit of extra money collect signed first editions and have collected Angie Sage's novels from day one.
Angie Sage grew up in Thames Valley, London and Kent. Her father was a publisher. He would bring home blank books that she could fill with pictures and stories. Sage first studied medicine, but changed her mind and went to Art School in Leicester. There she studied Graphic Design and Illustration. She began illustrating books after college. Then she progressed to writing children stories, including toddler books and chapter books. The Septimus Heap series was snapped up by the movie bosses at Warner Bros and David Frankel (Marley & Me) will be directing. This can only mean that the film bosses want to try and make the Septimus Heap series into the NEW Harry Potter.
The Angie Sage tittles to look out for are MAGYK (2005), FLYTE (2006), PHSIK (2007), QUESTE (2008), SYREN (2009) DARKE (2009)and THE MAGYKAL PAPERS (2009). If you can get hold of any these copies Ist edition Signed they will be worth a few quid once the movies are released.
I would go on to tell you about the story lines to the books but i have not read them, i know its wrong of me but they are still boxed and stored safely.
After my sisters husband died of cancer (very sad time for her) she said to me would I like her old car as she was going to use the family one from now on, I agreed and I have never looked back, the car had been left on the drive for over a year and after giving the battery a quick boost the car started first time, a quick service later and the car was back on the road. It is very comfortable and quite quick, its a great family car with plenty of leg room in the front and back and all seats are comfortable, its great on long motorway trips and will average 110 without really breaking a sweat and doesn't use up too much fuel we recently hit the south coast from High Wycombe and only filled it up once. Great car and would recommend it 100%. The price of a fore tyre change is cheap as I was quoted on my last service £150 so less than £50 a wheel is great motoring.
The cd changer is in the boot so strap it down quite securely as the cds will jump if you go over any bumps. The manual 5 speed gearbox is smooth and easy to access all gears and steering is adjustable and will drop quite low if need be. The adjustable seats are fiddly as the levers are tucked right down the side but it is bearable and there is plenty of room in the driving seat to fit me I'm 6ft 1inch.
Even if I didn't get this car for free I was going to offer £2000 as it is a great car and for value for money you cannot go wrong.
After reading lots of reviews about the more expensive washing machines i came to the conslusion that they are pretty much all the same. This Bush does everything it says on the package...it washes clothes! but washes them for half the price, there are many temperature settings and the spin cycles are great there are long washes 2hr or the short 30mins quick wash, eco wash and baby wash ( but i found my 19 month old enjoyed the bath more).
Im a great believer that you dont have to spend a fortune to get the simple jobs done and this washing machine dried and cleaned the clothes well and the wife hasn't whinged at me for being a tight arse this time. I could talk all day about this product but one of the best things it does is keep my baby entertained, sit a small child infront of it and sing to them 'the clothes in the washing machine go round and round, round and round'
I have been using hair trimmers for 10 years now ever since I got married and had kids, my hair must have gone into shock and left my body as soon as I walked down the isle but I have come to terms with this now and have shaved my head ever since.
The Remington Beard / Hair Trimmer has lots of attachments, it is cordless and holds a 40 minute charge on a single charge, the cordless trimmers are allot better I find due to being able to access the back of your head without getting a cord in the way. the Remington HC365 hair trimmer set comes with six attachment combs as well as a comb and scissors but I only ever use grade one as I like to keep my hair at tennis ball length but there are many other grades you can have, I use the longer hair attachment to do the back of my two year olds hair as you can just lightly push the trimmer through the fine hair and it catches the longer hair well.
The beard trimmer is great for getting that George Michael 90s look and it makes it very easy to trim sideburns and gets the outline finish on a beard to a fine line.
This combo pack comes with sectioning clips, ear guides, scissors, neck brush, cap, cape, cleaning brush and its all kept in a storage case with the hair clippers.
It's a great deal when you look at the price range between £24-26 for the kit. I would recommend this product.
