A candle which brings back happy memories.

      ""The Yankee Candle Company""

Firstly I would like to tell you a little about the company who makes these Candles. Yankee Candle is one of the world largest candle company's. It all started with a teenage boy called Mike Kittredge in a town called South Hadley, Massachusetts USA. Mike made is first candle for his mother for Christmas 1969 out of melted crayons. His neighbours saw his candle and brought some so he made more and began producing them in higher amounts. He had help from different sources to find the growth of Yankee Candle. The company slowly expanded and moved to South Deerfield in 1983.
Yankee Candle has grown and now has Many shops and factories throughout Europe, the Uk is a big seller of the Candles.

Yankee Candy doesn't just sell candles, they sell many different fragranced products like Room Sprays, Car Fresheners, Hand sanitizers, Diffusers, Tart Burners, Candle Stands, Plug-ins.

""Where can you buy Yankee Candle products from:""

You can purchase Yankee Candles in my area from the following stores:
      Clinton Cards.
Yankee Candle Shop in Chapelfields Norwich.
Private Card Shop on my local high street.
      House of fraser Noriwch.

You can also buy online at: http://www.yankeecandle.co.uk/

Also we had a Yankee candle party with a consultant from the local area, a lady came to our house and you invite friends and family and you all can look at the products and buy. The host of the party gets lots of free gifts and money off their sales. Do a Google search of Yankee candle party consultants in your area. These are a great way to look at and smell at your pace with great offers.

""My Personal Experience with Yankee Candle:""
I have been buying Yankee Candle products for over 3 years now, someone brought me one as a gift and i was amazed at the strong and lasting area of the candle. I then started buying these candles myself using the smaller samplers to check if i liked the smell before purchasing larger jars. I have tried many different fragrances and have many personal likes as well as some i will not use again.

      ""This Candle:""
The Jar was brought for me as a christmas gift by a family member, they brought it from the yankee candle party we had at my house. If buying in a shop you can expect to pay around £7.49 for the smaller jars., i always do product researchs online before buying anything to get the best price. They also do the larger size of the jars and the smaller wax tarts and samplers in this aroma.

      Small Jar Size and Weight:
      60(w) x 87(h) x 60(d)

      104 g

The overall burning time for a small jar is between 25-40 hours.
You could smell this candle even all wrapped up, when i received my christmas presents i commented on something smelling really nice in the bag. When i opened this gift i started burning it right away which really did help to get rid of horrible cooking smells. The Candle really does smell of what the product states and is really strong and nice, you must like cookie/food related smells to get the most pleasure from this candle. To try and explain the aroma further i would say it was a buttery creamy cookie, yes and smells good enough to eat (but please dont try this).

This candle also brings back memories of a child baking cookies with my nan just before christmas for all the family to enjoy. we use to make them into little gifts to go under the tree. I think its wonderful how a scent can take you back to those special times.
I found this candle to be one of the most powerful ones spreading the aroma all around the house not just in the area you burn it in.

      ""My Overall Rating:""
10/10 - This is one that is actually in my top 5 as i just love the cookie aroma that fills the house and the aroma it leaves even after blowing out is very nice. Also because of the lovely memories it brings back.

      ""My Yankee Candle Tips""
Do you wonder what to do with the very bottom of the candles that dont burn all the way to the bottom? I break up the bits and put into a jar and leave them on my shelf in the hall, you can mix all the bits together from different smells. The aroma just from the wax sitting in the jar really hits you when you walk through the door and always makes my hall smell lovely. I always get lots of lovely comments from visitors.

      Or
Why not put the bits in to a Yankee Candle tart burning so you really do use up every last bit.

This candle i brought from the shop as i just love the smell of Baby Talc and when i had a smell in the shop just had to buy it. I brought the small jar of this and was priced at £7.99, the price can vary from store to store. They also do the larger size of the jars and the smaller wax tarts and samplers in this aroma. The overall burning time for a small jar is between 25-40 hours.

      Small Jar Size and Weight:

The aroma is really strong and really hits you even before or light the candle, it really does smell strongly of baby talc and make your house smell lovely and clean and fresh. This would be an ideal gift for someone who has just had a baby as i believe it would help hid the nappy smells. Its a smell that all of us in our family like and even when you blow at the candle it leaves a pleasant and lasting aroma. This aroma also takes me back to when my 2 children were babies and brings back those lovely memories.

      ""My Overall Rating:""

9/10 - As this candle gifts off a really nice aroma and lasts really long. One of my top ten Yankee candles. I would buy this candle again.

This candle i brought off line as the idea of my house smelling fresh and clean like fluffy towels apealed to me.

I brought the small jar off line on ebay and was priced at £7.49, the price can vary from store to store and online. They also do the larger size of the jars and the smaller wax tarts and samplers in this aroma. The overall burning time for a small jar is between 25-40 hours.

      Small Jar Size and Weight:

      60(w) x 87(h) x 60(d)

When i recieved this jar i was really surprised at how strong the smell was even just by opening the package. I lit the candle and after about 5 minutes my house smelt like i had just been washing towels, not sure if thats a good or bad thing but personally to me i like the idea. You really get a mix of aromas and i find this a hard Candle to pick out the different aromas/ingrediants, which are lemon, apple, lavender and lily. The let down on this is that when you blow out the candle the aromas disappear too quick.

      ""My Overall Rating:""

8/10 - I really like to aroma and will buy again but doesnt make my top ten of yankee candles. The only let down is the aroma not lasting long.

This candle was brought out for Halloween, this review is for the small Votive sampler one and i paid £1.70, price can vary between shops for Votive samplers. You can some times get offers if you buy so many together but its normally the local private stores that offer these to the big stores.

      Size of this Candle:
      Height: 5.0cm (2.0")
      Diameter: 4.5cm (1.8")

I brought this because we was having a hallween evening and thought it might help. Votive Samplers have a whole burning time of around 15 hours, i would say this was about right as i feel my yankee candles last very long compared to other cheaper brands.

The Candle is very orange and when you first light the candle it really reflects orange in the room. The Candle is surpose to smell of candy corn but personally i didnt think it did (I cant really explain the smell, maybe burnt Vanilla is the closest to explain), i really wasnt sure if i liked the smell while it was burning or not. After i blew out the candle it left an unpleasent smell, my son said this was because the candle was made for halloween and thats why it gave off that smell (It wasnt surpose to be nice). Maybe hes right but i didnt like the smell and went and got several of my nicer yankee candles and burnt them to get rid of the smell. Maybe the sent just wasnt for me but condsidering all 4 of us in the house had the same opnion i think it says alot.

My Overall Rating out of 10 for this product is 3/10 because personally i am not too keen on the sent it gives off but was good for Halloween. Not one i will buy again i am afraid.

      Same review on ciao.

      London W6 7JP
      UK

There are several phone numbers for this magazine depending on your reasons on calling them, please check out the following link for phone numbers and email address to make any contact: http://www.nurseryworld.co.uk/go/contactus/

I am a Nursery Practitioner and will be starting my foundation degree in Early Years this Autumn and Nursery World is used a lot in researching and doing essays and is highly recommended as a reference resource in doing any Childcare related Training, especially degrees where referencing and researching is highly used.

This Magazine can only be purchased in some newsagents and can be hard to find, in our local town only WHSmiths stock this. I however purchase mine as a subscription online and did this through the website: http://www.nurseryworld.magazine.co.uk/

I pay mine by subscription Quarterly paying by direct debit at £21. You can also pay annually for £84 direct debit or £99 using a credit card. This subscription gets you fortnightly magazines, online members access to hundreds of useful resources (More details about website below), Supplement downloads and much more.

Each Magazine come packed with updated articles related to different types of Childcare for the 0-5 years and is also useful for child-minders. The magazine is released fortnightly with 24 issues a year. The magazine covers all areas of Child Development and links to the EYFS (Early Years foundations stage which childcares must use in planning and assessments). The Magazine provides sessional activity's throughout the year giving you more ideas to extend children's play. There are several adverts throughout the magazine promoting toys, educational resources and Training.

The Magazine is a great resource in learning about any course/training changes or updates which we may need as childcare providers, it helps us understand what is needed by us to continue provided excellent standards of care to children in different childcare settings.

The Magazine is always bright and cheerful mostly with colours related to the current time of year, it really keeps me interested and is very resourceful. The magazine has an equal amount of articles, stories, activities, adverts. I hate magazines that just advertises way too much and this magazine doesn't do this.

I keep all my magazine as they are great for helping you with planning and activity ideas and i refer back to mine often, mostly due to my training and using these while referencing pieces of work.

      Website:

      http://www.nurseryworld.co.uk/

The Magazine and Website have a big link and work alongside each other providing us childcare providers with instant updates by email, it provides extra support to use and extra articles to refer to. The Magazine refers to the website on a regular basis i.e. most details on this can be found at .........

The Website also provides links and downloads to relevant and important childcare files which we must keep up to date with. The links are easy to find and simple to download. A search box helps you find these quickly. You can also as a subscriber download extra magazine supplements free including Nursery Management and toys and equipment to name a few.

The Forum is a great place to meet other childcare providers and to share in discussions and ask questions, the forum isn't that busy but your question is normally answered within a day.

The Website provides an excellent Training and employment page where you can find out more about training and look for jobs around the uk. The process of applying for jobs on the site is very easy to do, you click on the job that you wish to apply for and attach your cv and send.

      RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS:

Pleasurewood hills has currently been taken over and this year the park has been updated with several new rides and attractions. The company that has taken over this theme park is: H.I.G Capital France They have taken over several attractions throughout the uk.

NEW The Jolly Roger - 1.4m minimum height required. This is a drop tower ride and is New for 2012, I am afraid i cant give a personal point of view as too chicken to try this out.
Wipeout - 1.3m minimum height required. This ride Is a Rollercoaster, been on this many times and love it, there is a twist and loop on this ride and you go through it forwards and backwards. The good thing is the views when it stops at the top to return backwards. Its not the best roller-coaster ive been on but its enough for a thrill. You can get a ride photo on this ride.

Enigma - 1m minimum (1m - 1.25 need to be accompanied by an adult) This ride is a roller coaster that doesnt go upside down, it is like a runaway mine train. This ride does throw you about abit. This ride does have a habit of breaking down alot on my visits, one time just near the end and we had to be helped out along the track. (This was done safely and with excellent staff helping me along the way).
Fireball - 1.4 minimum height. This is a spinning ride that swings through 120 degrees up to 20 metres high. I find this ride is very intense and does put your head in a spin, watch when you get off the ride. This does seem a big favourite with teenagers.

The-tide-traveller - 1.25m height. This is another spinning ride but not as intense as the above ride even though you go 360 degrees, i find the spins on this calmer but still a great thrill. The name confuses me though as it suggests water to me but no water is involved.
Timer Falls - This is a log flume and one you will get wet on, oh no i mean soaked. Really make sure your prepared to go on this ride. Spare clothes to change into and socks as i have managed to get soaked from top to bottom with no drying area its not very nice to walk around in afterwards, Unless its a very hot day (which not often here on the east coast) I would avoid or be prepared. The drops are high but not too intense. You can get a ride photo on this ride.

Snack-in the Grass - 1m height (1m to 1.25 m must be accompanied by an adult) This is a family roller coaster and is great for all ages, the roller coaster goes round twists and turns and you go round about 2-3 times. The more you shout again and the shorter the queues the more you go around. This is a family favourite.
Shiver M Timbers - 1m minimum height (1m to 1.3m but be accompanied by an adult) This is a swinging pirate ship. You go higher if you sit at the back, which everyone normally rush's to. You either like this ride or not, depending if you like the swinging.

Wave Breaker - 1m-1.25m must be accompanied and 2 to a boat. This is a water ride and is boats going down a bumpy slide. You dont get wet much on this ride, more of a spray. You do go really fast and seem to fly through the air. You can get a ride on this photo. You must have 2 of you in a boat but if your on your own, try grab someone at the bottom before you go on, i am sure their are others in the same boat.
Tales of the Coast - 1m minimum height, 1m - 1.3m must be accompanied. This is a gentle family boat ride traveling through a cave and discovering about myths and legends of the sea. Does get abit dark in the cave so some children might find it abit scarey.

Le Mans - Extra Fee Applies for this. Single karts 1.4 minimum height. Double Kart Driver 1.6 and passenger 1m minimum height. These are petrol driven cars around a race track. This is for the Boys, my son has done this several times and has always come off happy.
Carousel - Beautiful Carousel with moving horses, this carousel also has carts to sit in that dont move other than the Carousel going around and around.

Chairlifts - These are little chairs that take you from one side of the park to the other, you can see all over the park on these. I am not good with heights so dont go on these but the family like to while i walk across the other side. You have to sort of jump on and off the moving chairs but their is staff their to help you do this.
Sky Hooks - 1m minimum height, 1m-1.3 must be accompanied. These are swings on chains that are hooked to a carousel and sway around and around. This ride can make you feel very dizzy.

Dodgey Dodgems - 1m min height accompanied, 1. 25m or higher can drive car on their own. This is a basic dodgems rides, dont bump into anyone as you will get told off.
Kite Flyer - 1.05m height. This is a ride where you lay flat on a board and a cage is clipped over you for safety, then you spin around like your flying. Not intense at all quit calming i think.

New The Light House - This is a new kiddy attraction for 2012, you basically bob up and down on the tower and it goes 10 metres high.
New Pleasurewood hills ponies - This is a new fun pony ride, you sit on ponies like carousel ones and ride around a track. This is fun for all ages.

Flying elephants - A kids ride where you go around and around sitting in elephants. No Minimum height but its recommend small children are accompanied.
Mini Pirate Ship - A kids version of the pirate ship, No Minimum height.

Mini Twister - A kids ride that twists round and around.
Veteran Cars - Little old vintage cars that go around a track, great for the family.

Balloon Rays - This is a kids ride where you sit in balloons and go up and down.
Woody Copter - Little kids helicopter that goes around like on a big wheel but actually a small wheel suitable for children.

Fairytale Fantasy - an indoor car ride that shows you different fairy tales.
Sean Alexander The Confusionist Show- A 30 Minute Show at set times throughout the time. Please check show times on the day. The Britains got Talent Star Sean Alexander will wow you with his amazing magic acts. You really must go and see this i was very impressed.

New Laser Labyrinth - This is a laser tag game, this has an additional fee (didnt see this so not sure on the fee for this). This is a New attraction, i didnt see this on my visit so cant comment on this yet but will check out on my next visit.
Sea Lion Show - This show is a must and is so funny and includes several Sea lions and their trainers. Their is several shows throughout the day, check out times on the day as these can change throughout the session. Show last about 20 Minutes approx.

Parrot Show - This is a typical Parrot Show with several different Parrots with different acts. A must for all the family, the birds do fly over your head so you must be okay with this.

      FOOD:

There are several cafes and fast food places throughout the park for you to buy a different range of food. I have seen a typical Burger Place, Fish and Chips, Hot dog stands, ice cream places and a large food court. Prices seem quit good but i cant comment on taste as I always bring a picnic. you can easily find an area to rest on as their is plenty of grassed areas to choose from.

      SHOPPING:

There is 3 shops located throughout the park with many different items to choose from. You can buy Pleasurewood hills themed items as well as novelty items. Children seem to like the pick and mix and normally buy here before going home. Shops get very busy at the end of the day so try and pop in early in the day.

      PARK IN GENERAL:

All Staff I've come across in the park have been very helpful and cheerful, most of the staff do seem quit young and seem to all come from the local area. The ride operators seem quit patient and helpful when needed.
The Park area seems very clean and has plenty of bins and i've often seen cleaners cleaning up the areas and gardeners keeping the area beautiful.

There is several toilet blocks located throughout the park, when i have visited there has always been plenty of toilet roll and always seems clean and smelling fresh on entry.
There seems to be several baby changing areas and one special nursing room which is decorated really nice.

Lockers are located close to the entrance of the park. I personally don't use these as the car-park is so close that i leave my things there and get my hand stamped to come back in.

      MY PERSONAL OPINION:

This Park is very close to where i live so we visit several times throughout the year, i visit time and time again and really like that a new company has taken over and new rides and attractions have been added. The park had been getting quit boring so this has really helped us in wanting to go again. I would personally like a few more walk through themed areas to look at and explore and feel this can easily be done. My teenage children also visit here on their own and can easily reach the bus by bus.

If You have any Questions I am willing to help answer any you have and thank you for reading through my review.

A Great Budget London Hotel for the family

I searched through travelodge and premier inn for good deals and prices on central London hotels for myself and family to spend a few nights to explore the sights of London. I looked through review sights myself to help me confirm my choices. Finally i decided on this premier inn due to price and location.

      Location:

      11 Knaresborough Place,
      London, SW5 0TJ
      T: 0871 527 8666
      F: 0871 527 8667

This Premier inn is very easy to find, the closest station is earls court tube station. To get from earls court station it take about 2 minute walk, you walk out the front of the station, cross at the crossing and you will see Earls Court Gardens. Walk all the way down this road and the premier inn is located on the corner to your left. The Premier inn is in 2 buildings crossing Knaresborough Rd, they are connected by a walk way.

Local attractions inearby are the Natural History museum, Victoria and Albert Science museums, Harrods but basically your a quick tube trip from central London. Tubes to Earls court were easy to get and was never too busy.

      Price:

I paid £173 for a family of 4 for 2 nights Sunday and Monday for October half term weekend. I just checked current online price for similar dates and its works out at £184, check out website deals often as prices are always changing.

      Check-in:
I called before i arrived to see if we could store our luggage and they said this was ok, arrived at around 10am, checked in our bags and was given a luggage slip, we then went into London for the day. Their was no charge for leaving our luggage.

We returned to check-in at around 9pm, when we arrived we was greeted by a lady and gentleman. The gentleman helped my husband collect our luggage from the store room and the lady helped me check-in using the check-in machines which was very simple to use. You just filled in your details and out the machine came your keys for your room.

      Room:
Our room was abit of a walk from the lobby, we was in the building across the road. we walked over the walk way and up one floor to our family room which was actually located right above the walkway.

When we arrived in the room, everything was clean and tidy. Our double bed was made but we had to make up the childrens beds which is quit normal, the childrens bed was basically a sofa with a pull out bit underneath. The beds here was comfortable and alot better than travelodge ones, stayed in a horrible one the day before coming here, review to follow soon.

The Bathroom was clean and the shower was easy to use with great pressure, the towels were fresh and clean and plenty for a family of 4.

There is a kettle and tea/coffee making in the room, there was several teas and coffees and this filled up each day. We did ask for extra milks and was given a big hand full at reception.

There is also a Tv in the room, which was very easy to use. There was one hairdryer which we did use several times and this dryed our hair well. There was plenty of storage space for a family of 4.

We always need extra pillows, so we went down and asked and was given several with no problems.

There was light corridor noise but nothing too much, at night we didnt experience any noise and had a good nights sleep. Being close to the road i thought we may have got alot of traffic noise but the windows did a good job in keep the noise levels down. Please note the hotel is above a tube line and you can here this when you open the window, we didnt hear anything with the windows closed but not sure on the noise level if we was on a lower floor or on the lobby side of the road.

      Other useful information:
You can get breakfast here at a cost and dinner but we chose not to as we have several dinner reservations in central London, also the kids love macdonalds for breakfast. (There is one close to earls court train station). The area has lots of shops and cafes close to the tube station to cater for all your needs. You can get a meal deal for £22 a day which gets you a 3 course evening meal, a drink and an all you can eat breakfast the next day.

In the lobby you can find a machine where you can charge your ipods, phones for a set fee. This was a life saver for me as i left my charger at home for my iphone and i was able to fully charge my phone.

While we was at the premier Inn many rooms were being updated.

      Conclusion:

My conclusion is that i would go back to this hotel as you just cant beat the location and service from this hotel on a budget. Staff here are really friendly and greet you with a smile and a welcome every time you came through the door and wished us well when we left.

Cheap, Tastey and low in fat crisps.

I was recommened these crisps by another slimming world member as these crisps are low in fat and low in slimming world syns. There is 70% less fat in these crisps than standard King crisps.

I brought a bag of 6 packets of crisps for £1 in the pound shop, Asda sell them at £1.58 for 6 packets (They have had offers on two bags of 6 crisps for £2. Tesco has them at £1.29 at this current time.

These crisps have an exotic taste about them and are very light on the tounge and melts sofly, they have a nice texture. The crisps are very strong in taste you can especially taste the sping onion. These are my favourite crisps, i also like the thai sweet chilli flavour. My teenage children also love these crisps too and they really do not last very long in our house.

These crisps are suitable for vegatarians.

A really Hot very tastey sauce for cooking.

This Product is Mine and My daughters favourite sauce we have this on everything we can.

I had been using the sauce for several years before actually buying a bottle of it in the Nandos resturant, Nandos has many resturants througout the Uk.

I first brought this sauce from Nandos as this is one of my favourite family resturants and i just love the sauces, now they sell this at local supermarkets along with many other Nando sauce products.

      Price:

I cant remember the actual price i paid in Nandos as i just added it to the price of my meal at the time but i have brought it several times from supermarkets. Current price in Asda is £2.49 for 250ml, you can get a smaller size for around £1.99. I have also brought the sauce from Tescos, our local morrisons store doesnt do the sauce.

      Taste:
You must like hot spicy foods to like this sauce, this sauce is hot and leaves a tingly feeling on your tounge, always eat with plenty of water.
The sauce is a fiery blend of sun ripened lemons, spices, Peri Peri (African Bird's Eye Chilli) and garlic.

What to use the sauce on/In?:
Its mainly used to coat chicken in but we use it as a dipping sauce for chips and Crisps. I have used it alot in cooking incuding adding it into stir frys. My family like my cassoroles when i make it spicey using some of the sauce.

How Long does it last and storage:
I store the bottle in the cupboard and it always pours well and lasts very well. The recommended storage time is 3 months.

      Ingrediants:
Water , Vinegar , Lemon (6%) , Onion , Salt , Serrano Chilli , Sunflower Oil , Spices (including African Bird's Eye Chilli - Peri-Peri Chilli) , Garlic , Stabilisers (Xanthan Gum, Propylene Glycol Alginate) , Antioxidant (Calcium Disodium EDTA) .

This product is a suitable sauce for vegatarians.

      Allergy Advice:
Made in a facility that also processes products with gluten, egg, peanuts, soya, celery, mustard and sulphites.

      Other Products:
Nandos does many other sauces with different tastes, there is one which is extra hot which i can handle but my daughter feels this is too much.

A Great Body shop product with a great aroma.

I have always liked Body Shop products for some reason and rarely went to the shop until visiting one shopping trip with friends, i noticed they sold coconut products which is one of my favourite smells of all time. I don't use lotions or body butter which is the normal products for body shop, so when i saw that they had coconut foaming bath i just had to buy.

I brought the 400 ml size which i believe to be the only sized offered on this product at the moment, the retail price is £8.00 which i feel is a good price for the size and quality of the product.

The foaming bath is best used under running hot water, you really do not need to use too much of this as it gives you plenty of bubbles. (It doesn't give off much bubbles if you just put in the water but under the hot tap). The liquid is clear with no bits in it and turns the water a light milky colour which does disappear after a few minutes, leaving fresh clear water but with the fluffy bubbles on the surface. When you get into the bath you can smell the fragrance, it isn't really strong which is ideal for me but enough to make the room and you smell of coconut. My husband doesn't like coconut food smells so i was unsure weather to get this or not but he admits that this doesn't give off too much of a strong aroma and is quit a pleasant smell. This item also doesn't make the bath slippy or oily like some products can.

I always use this product along with other coconut bath products, some body shop branded and some boots branded to give off a more lastly effect. My skin is always lovely and smooth and clean and fresh after using this item. I have nearly ran out of my current bottle and will be buying more soon.

You can buy many coconut smelling products from body shop as well, haven't tried them all yet. You can check out their website for more products:
