Benefit Erase Paste is my one item of make up that I make sure to have with me at all times. It comes in different shades to suit skin tone and is a product that I highly recommend. I personally don't wear very much make up - and this shows that this product is for everyone. The product itself can be described as a firm liquid, if that makes sense. It is in no way a powder and i believe that this is a positive attribute. For someone who has suffered from dry skin I often have problems applying powdery make up as it just lies on top of the dry skin and makes my skin look even worse. Due to the creamy nature of this product I can apply it on areas which are prone to dry skin. I apply it below my eyes every day to take away that sleepy eye look and to take away any bags that are under my eyes. Further, it is also a great concealer on other areas of the face. If I wake up in the morning and notice a blemish on any other part of my face, I simply appy some erase paste and it does exactly what it says on the tin - erases the blemish. Buy one of these now, keep it in your bag, and you'll definitely thank Benefit over and over again for this product.
I have had my Ipod Classic for quite a few years now and really believe it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. The Ipod can come in black or white and really that is just a matter of preference. The great thing about Ipods is the amount of skins (covers) that you can buy so you can personalise it. One of the great features on the Ipod is the ability to lock the screen, this means that any accidental touching of the dial whilst in your pocket won't result in the volume increasing/decresing or the songs being switched. The dial itself is a great feature and you can use to to scroll through the various options. The dial has a button in the middle that you press down when you want to make your selection. In terms of ease of use, the diall really is suitable for people of all ages, and once you get used to the scroll motion with your fingers it really is quite simple. A massive positive is the arge amount of storage meaning you are able to store photos, films, and obviously songs onto this one piece of equipment. For years it has been great for me whilst travelling as I am able to store so much in such a small space. The Itunes application for your computer is great and once you connect your Ipod to the computer you are able to access all your songs and play around with them creating various playlists i.e. one for the gym or relaxing. The only real piece of advice I want to flag up is that this is an older model compared to other ipods that have been released. In particular, for going to the gym, I feel now that my Ipod is too bulky and would say that if you plan on walking/running a lot with your ipod I would recommend one at a smaller size so that it does not get in your way whilst exercising. There are also the ipods which are touch screen, this does seem great but I don't think I would pay the extra for this capability. Definitely get an Ipod and if you don't mind the size then go for this, cheaper than the newer options yet it still has the same storage abilities. I should also mention that my Ipod has been dropped quite a few times yet has never been damaged, it has never lost its memory and it continues to run as perfectly as it first did.
This review relates to my stay at the Britannia hotel in Newcastle next to the airport. My husband and I were unfortunate to miss our flight and had to book a room in a hotel at the last minute. On a positive note the Britannia cost only £39 for the two of us staying on a room only basis. However, I wouldn't have paid much more than this. The Britannia's rate was less than half the price of neighbouring hotels and therefore if you are in a hurry, or need somewhere to sleep for one night then you can't go far wrong. On check in, we had to wait quite a long time at the reception desk for the one receptionist to check in another customer. It was only 5pm so perhaps there could have been another employee to deal with our check in. The employee was someone who obviously doesn't really enjoy their job and found it difficult to offer a smile or words of welcome. We were asked if we wanted a smoking or non smoking room which we found rather surprising as it was our belief that all hotel rooms would now be non smoking. If it meant that the rooms had once been smoking, I would like to think that they have now been suitably cleaned that you could no longer smell any trace of smoke. Entering our room we found a double bed, two bedside cabinets, an armchair and a small tv. The room was really clean and the bed was comfortable with clean, fresh bedding. The bathroom was also clean however the bath had parts that were discoloured due to age. In order to have a hot shower to my standards, and no that isn't boiling, I had to have the shower heat turned to full. There was a kettle in the room with various teas and coffee available as well as two biscuits. Whilst this review appears to be highly negative I am aware that the price was so low, considering the location being so handy to the airport. Therefore, despite all the negative factors I probably would stay there again rather than pay more than double for a different hotel. At the end of the day I slept well in a comfortable bed and received a wake up call at 5.30am for my flight.
I read this book within a few days due to the captivating plot and the way that the book was written made me feel that I was really part of the story, as corny as that sounds. The book is written from the viewpoint of various characters meaning that you feel a personal connection with each of them and gives a deeper level of understanding about the racial divide that was so prominent within America during that time period. This book looks at life as a coloured person being the "help" and the influence and power of the white people. Throughout this book you see how the characters deal with the divide and also whether the white characters will use their power and influence for good or bad. Without ruining the plot, as a reader I felt that I grew a deeper understanding of what it would have been like to live within that society and it prompts the reader to form an opinion on their stance. This book will have you going through all sorts of emotions as you embrace each of the characters for both their flaws and strengths.
Having wanted a DSLR camera for quite some time I decided to take the plunge. I shopped around for various options and decided for Nikon over Canon due to the recommendations that a Nikon is better for a beginner, having its own built in guide is always a bonus! This review comes from a beginner who previously only ever had very simply point and click cameras. The camera has a dial on the top right which gives you all the various options and different modes that it can be switched to. However, trying to understand all these different modes and figuring out which is best under different circumstances is something which seems to come only through practice and spending time with the camera in different lighting. Whilst it does appear straight forward to take photos I should point out that trying to get those quality shots without blur and with the right lighting really isn't something which happens instantly. I woudl recommend attending a photography class, something I have signed up for, if you really want to get the best out of your camera. My warning aside about really getting to understand the camera, it is amazing. I am in love with my camera, even taking shots at a beginners level I can see the difference in the quality of my shots. Further, the ability to take numerous shots over such a short time period is fantastic to ensure you get the right picture at the right time. The camera itself is light enough to carry around with you on various trips but yet sturdy enough to know that it is durable and will withstand any mishandling (to a degree). The live mode is great, especially from a beginners perspective as I am able to focus in on the specific face I want to take. The battery life as far as I can tell is great, I get to take a lot of photos and am constantly using live mode which I know uses more battery. Nikon is such a great brand and for the price I paid I really would recommend it. This is a great starter camera and one that I know I will get a good few years out of before upgrading, if I ever do.
