Having owned this phone for approximately 8 months now I have a fair bit of experience with the pros and cons of using it. Windows seem to be the minor of the choices out there for Mobile phone software (Android, Apple etc), which reflects heavily on the apps available for this platform, being not many but steadily increasing. I moved from a basic HTC Desire to this phone and although there was a distinct lack of apps. I was pleasantly surprised with the speed of internet browsing and navigating through the phone. It seems smoother than the older version of android that i had previous to this, the extra oomph from the processor is really what contributes towards this. Because I mainly internet surf, my battery lasts about a day and a half, so i just charge at the end of every day, but this is pretty much the same experience Ive had with all my phones so far. The sliding tiles seems uniformed and easy to get the hang of, but i can't help thinking there was a bit more freedom in what you could do with your 'desktop' so to speak, it seems very restricted and as though you can't do much apart from move the tiles around and change the size of them. Personally I think I would prefer a bigger screen than the 3.8" this offers, but at the cost of the phone, there have to be compromises, swiftly moving on to the camera. The camera seems good quality, not great, its good if your subject is still and easy to focus on, but anything that moves - forget it, it will end up blurry and you will wish you hadn;t bothered.
First off I will state that I bought a refurbished headset so this may taint the review slightly but its only fair to mention this point. If you do a bit of research into headsets, a lot of people say to spend money on just a decent set of headphones rather than buy anything labelled with 'Gaming' as the quality will be much better. Personally, I really value the mic being attached rather than having another seperate piece of equipment for My PC. Trying these on makes for a very comfortable fitting and the earpieces on both sides are extendable. The set itself feels very good quality and is black and red with as to follow the typical Republic of Gamers Brand. Sound quality is far better than expected with a just a little (not much) lacking in the bass department. But as in terms of quality, for me, its absolutely fine and perfectly acceptable. If you're an audiophile, tbh you probably won't be even considering a headset anyway, but these produce sound from movies and Games and give a real immersion. Music is also a pleasure too. Comes packed with a neat little case and a few accessories - detachable mic too. The audio cable isn't the usual tat some manufacturers would skimp on costs with either, its a kind of thick rubber, but looks quite durable. Has a small sliding switch on the left ear cup which activates the noise cancelling feature (1 AAA Battery), which at first i thought was a gimmick, but i didn't realise how loud my PC fans are until turning the ANC feature on, just wow.
Me and my partner got this game for christmas. It is basically the old Wii Fit game plus extra games and features so renders the old Wii Fit disc useless. I think you can buy it for around £15-£20 so not too bad value however in a few months it'll probably be down to £10 which would be great value, turning on the Wii Fit plus game first time it all looks the same apart from some different comments from the silly board that speaks. Loading up the screen has a completely different category for all the new games, they can all be found in there, I think all the other aerobic excercises are still the same, I haven't had time to investigate and compare however. The new features are in the form of routines and favourite excercises, you can build a planner or a kind of diary of excercises you would like to do on a regular basis, not bad, but I don't know if it was worth crating a whole new game out of it, it should've come with this kind of stuff in the first one. Also changed is the annoying habit where you'd have to go right back to the Wii Fit plaza to change the character who is playing, you can now click 'Change' in the bottom right corner and do it from there. Much nicer. Not worth £20 In my opinion for stuff that should've been included in the first place
So far this DJ Hero seems to have some great reviews on it, Im afraid Im going to break the trend and say I don't think its worth all the hype. My friend bought this game round my hosue so to be fair I do not own it myself, but have played a fair few hours on it. You start as obviously a DJ and have an option to be only one DJ until you unlock more characters. The lessons to learn are pretty simple and it talks/shows you through the steps. They are done pretty quickly and it doesn't take long to get into the real action. When you start on the first level you have to earn points to unlock things which makes sense, its how most games are structured, with getting money or cash to unlock new levels or features. The Music is good, the remixes sound good, the tunes are up to date and they're mixed pretty well, Im surprised some of them haven't been released as singles. What I am dissapointed with is the depth to the game, there is not much to do other than press buttons and spin the turntable to tracks, it all seems rather limited to make a game of it, also as far as I am aware, you can't choose your own tracks to mix together, that would be a massive upside to this game if you could, please someone correct me if Im wrong in this point. I am not all that keen on this game to be 100% honest and after having played on my friends version, I will not be buying it.
Mcdonalds has been around since the sawn of my era, but I was born in 1984, they are a well established business which is situated all over the world, some McDonalds are placed in places that people wouldn't have even conceived there would be. Form McDonalds own site they have over 30,000 restaurants in over 100 countries, now thats some big franchise. At most of them near me they have gone over a refresh recently, a new look to the whole thing, Im not sure what its supposed to change on people's perception on McDonalds, because to me, it will always be the place where Roald McDonald co-existed. The food on the other is generally pretty tasty, stay away if you're on a diet though really, they have healthy options (probably enforced by governments) but really, whats the point, if your going to McDonalds, you're going to be tempted by the bad stuff for you. Perosnally I always have either a quarter pounder with cheese or a double cheeseburger. gerkins, what is with gerkins, why are they the default option absolutely no mother in this universe likes gerkins Im sorry, my wife does actually and maybe 1 in 1000 do so maybe they should serve the burgers as plain and you have to request gerkins if you want them. Thats my rule if I run McDonalds anyway, until I do, I guess Ill have to accept things the way they are. besides the gerkins I love the taste of a McDonalds cheeseburger even if it is a little salty
Well what can we say about Toilet tissue that isn't paper, long or strong? I dunno but ill try my best, we have bought these on a few occassions where budget is tight, or there is no others available and to be honest, they're not all that great I would say. They wipe your bits alright, but the paper isn't particularly soft and each sheet is quite small really, I'd say. The best thing about them is the price, about 45p for four or something like that. I would happily buy these given a tight budget and not much option but i would rather sacrifice another area of my shopping to have nicer toilet paper. The packaging isn't great either, it all goes with the price you see, and isn't particularly well done up most of the time but lets just say it gets the job done. tesco value logo and red stripe around the packaging, what more could you need, and its not like you wipe your bum with what it is wrapped in.
I use these nappies on my kids, I have 2 kids just for your info. and they have lasted well throughout the years, if others are on offer I might buy them, but tesco is usually the happy default measure we use. They seem to be pretty strong and hold the urine in a treat, the tabs are strong and can be done up and undone a couple of times and still stick ok. Kids seem to be comfortable in them and they seem to fit quite snug not letting feces or urine out of the sides. I don't particularly enjoy changing a kids nappy and to be honest theres not loads you can say about it, but Tescos hasn't made the experience any worse with their nappies, I would happily keep going on buying these as long as they don't cheap out on the materials they use and the costs they're willing to pay. I would recommend these to anyone, even if you're a brand snob becuase its just silly to pay more for something thats the same.
One of my favourite pastimes, is sitting down with warm bread and butter, and eating kingsmill everyday bread reminds me of that feeling (even though its not warm when i eat it) Kind of like in Pixars Ratatouille and Antono EGo, the critic's reaction when he eats Remy's ratatouille bringing him back to his childhood. Anyhow onto the bread, you can never beat the taste of home cooked/freshly baked bread but, to me, this comes close, its soft, has a good rich taste to it that tends to stay until it goes mouldy. Speaking of which happens far too quickly in my home, we haver the heating on around 19-21 most of the time but bread if it doesn't get eaten will go mouldy by 3-4 days which in my opinion is too soon and its not like you want to keep it in the fridge, it just doesn't taste the same, it ruins it. My mum used to refridgerate bread and it is always cold and horrible. Saying that, a loaf of bread doesn't seem to last all that long when you have a family of four! I prefer Kingsmill over hovis, it always feels softer to me and tastes much nicer, and at the moment its on offer most of the time it at least one of our local supermarkets, which gives me the peasure of being able to buy my favourite bread.
Bought this game a little while ago, have been playing it for about a month now and Im very impressed so far, the graphics, detail and payability seem really involved. The acting voices are very convincing as well with how they talk to each other, The storyline so far from what I gather is that aliens have landed on this island (modelled on a real island I might mention) and you're there to destory them and get through the koreans who are trying to cover it up. Its a very large scale map with lots of different routes you can take to get to where you want. You wear a nanosuit which enables you to choose one special skill at a time; Invisibility, Strength, Armour, Speed and another one i cant remember harware requirements you need an up to date computer to run this game to the max, HD resolution anti aliasing turned up and object quality set to high will gut frame rates in half if not more and really test you PC spec. Im running an i7 860 with 4GB RAm and a radeon 5850 graphics card and mine will struggle on full detail, but at low resoltion with AA turned off, should run fine on most PC's Overall would recommend this game
This film tells a story of a man (Robin Williams) who lives alone and is lonely, has not many friends and not a great social life, most of his time is spent either at work or at home. He is passionate about his job and doesn't look kindly upon people doing his job with little experience. He works a photograph developer. He forms an obsession over a particular customer and her family and begins to take a worringly obsessed path into the family's life each time he develops her photos he looks more and more into their life as a family and kind of lives in it without them. We find out that Robin williams was abused as a kid and why he starts becoming obsessed about this family, which, we find out is not a perfect family after all. To me, I found this film quite uncomfortable to watch, its quite an edgy film even though it isn't particularly scary, just something in my gut didn't feel right about the character Williams is playing. Its out of line with the work he normally takes on so does make it interesting in that way for him to take on something different for a change. I didn't feel really comfortable watching this movie only becuase Im not particularly into thrillers and stuff like that, but for the person who enjoys an intense, mental thriller, this would be quite good i should imagine
I have recently acquried this television through a competition, I was really happy to finally have my dream of an LCD TV in my front room, only problem was the first one we got had a blown speaker that the bass was fuzzy on, so it was replaced promptly and we got another one that was just fine. Up-on first taking out of the box you have to assemble the stand if you're not going to put it on the wall, this is very simple and even comes with a tool so you can do the job, i managed to work out how to put the stand on and put it on the TV within 5-10 minutes without even looking at the instructions, so very easy indeed. Set up to get it going is very easy, just follow the on screen instructions to set up your digital or analog channels, however these wont be much use as of 2011. presentation wise, everything looks very nice, TV looks sleek, wide variety of ports on the back and remote control is functional, light and nice to use. TV come with 4 x HDMI ports, 1 VGA port, 2 sets of Phono Ports for surround sound setup as well. 2 Scart sockets, S-Video socket (although I have never come across anything that uses this interface. Also a USB port which i assume could display your photos if you wanted to. If you plan to connect a PC the VGA port can only carry a maximum signal of up to 1280 x 1024 by SXGA. If you want full HD you have to connect via the HDMI port. The TV picture is very nice and although this is what I would call a 'budget' 42 incher it is still a very nice picture from a regular DVD player (I think this is due to Resolution+ technology, but i'll let you google that) let alone an Upscaling DVD player or Blu ray. Would be very nice in my recommendation to add Surround sound system and a Blu ray player. Also must mention this TV has fantastic modes that you can change into Dynamic, Movie, Standard, Gaming mode and 1 or 2 others. All in all a fantastic TV for the money in my opinion
As most of you are aware Argos has been around for a fair few years and in the time that it has been around, it should've used the experience that it has gained from being a business and use it to benefit the customers. In my experience, Argos product line has increased drastically but customer service has decreased as well, it seems that they want to save as much money as they can on staff and training them. Also I will mention at this point that trying to return something thats faulty is a pain if they have been opened and used So beware to check everything before you put it together. I don't think all that much of Argos furniture however saying that I did buy a half price computer desk from them which seems to be of quite good quality and good clear instructions. I have heard and seen bad things with regards to people buying sofas from Argos, I would personally go to somewhere that sells sofas as a main product line. But argos is good for Kids toys, games and Consoles. I would recommend Argos for certain big brand products as long as the price is right.
I was very hesitant about buying these when I saw them in the shop the other day, I thought, hmm what will the quality of the plastic be like, but i took the plunge and bought them, for the sake of 45p, I thought it was worth it. After having used a few of these bags now and was quite surprised with the strength of them, obviously they're not the strongest on the market and pulling them out of the bin when they're full can almost guarantee a split because they don't like to be packed right full. But if you're gentle and don't pack stuff in right to the top then they will be fine and you do get quite a few for 45p. We only have a small bin so the overfilling problem doesn't trouble us much The bags come off the reel fine and opening them doesn't seem to be so bad. I would recommend these if you're on a tight budget like us for while Im a student.
I first found out about you tube in about mid 2006 I think. Its a brilliant idea that has captivated the world and made many a students assignments late because they were to addicted to the 'tube'. You wanna learn how to back flip, just find a tutorial on youtube. you wanna learn how to rebuild an engine, just find a tutorial on youtube. you wanna learn how to sing, just find help and advice on youtube, its all there and easily at the click of a button, with low quality and HD content option for people with slower connections too. Its so versatile because you can use vide3os for reference and research as well as just fun or recreational use, you want to learn or do something but want to see someone else try it out first or you're not quite sure how to do it, youtube is the place, the number one place to go. The layout of the site is pretty clear cut, if a little cluttered on the homepage but on each video's page, I think everything is pretty well laid out, they have a full screen option, however I wouldn't recommend this with terrible quality videos because they will just look even worse. Make an account and there you go, you will have full access to the world of youtube although there's not that much to benefit by becoming a member, only thing I can see is that by becoming a member you can add videos and view over 18 video clips that people rate as over 18.
I watched this film round a friends house because I love the marvel comic book series and the films they produce, Spiderman to mention another favourite franchise. The Hulk man starts off by emailing and communicating with some man about blood samples to see if he can heal him by testing on his blood, they communicate via computer Hulk being called Green and the scientist being called Blue. Hulk has his traits as when he gets angry he turns into this massive monster, but there is another man now who gets a bit power hungry and wants to take him on, they modify his genetics and he starts to transform and want more so he can take on the Hulk, ultimately, this guy gets bigger and bigger until he is actually bigger than the hulk at the end. Its an odd film where to be honest with things like this, monsters, aliens etc, I like to see the animated/CGi part interatcting with humns instead of CGI so to me, two monsters fighting is boring, I prefer to see a man fighting the hulk or the hulk destroying the city if you see what I mean. The film is believable in one respect how it looks real and the CGi effects are very good, on the other hand it is comepletly un-believable because of the situation and it would just never happen but it;'s good for a fantasy action thriller. I enjoyed it overall I guess, just some corny/unblievable parts which could've been altered I think.
