“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Meat „
Well we have these twice a week so are the experts on these tesco meatballs!! The meatballs in the original packs of 12 were a little larger than the new packs of 20 however they are still a great meal as theres more in the pack you can just have a few more! And they always seem to be on offer in the tesco near me..get a discount if you buy 2 packs! so it meatballs all round!!! They are really tasty and we have them with a bolognase sauce and spaghetti! I fry mine (naughty!) and then just add the sauce and any extras...onions, mushrooms etc etc and they make such a nice meal. Really easy to do and very quick so excellent for a weekday night! The kids love them and they are even my daughters favourite dinner now so I think we deserve shares in them!!! They are really good value for money and make a quick and easy cheap meal for a family of four....(including 2 very hungry children!!!)
When I suggested these to Dooyoo they DID come in a pack of 12 meatballs and in the Tesco by me that's how they're still being sold but member rji0907 beat me to writing the review and by her they're now in packs of 20 but the meatballs are smaller. Like I said, the ones I have been buying have been in packs of 12 though so I'll review them like that because I haven't seen the bigger packs yet. They are £2.00 for 12 and you can freeze them too, that's good news because these meatballs are quite often on special offer so it's brill that you can stock up and save yourself a few quid. The meatballs are delish, better than any of the frozen ones I've tried and they've got a proper nice meaty home made flavour. They don't taste like they're made out of fake meat or anything nasty like that and you can deffo taste the beef in them as you eat them. Quite a bit of fat comes out of them as they're cooking but that's not all bad news either because this sounds rank but it's proper meat fat that's coming out of them and not a load of gunky looking oily stuff. Tesco recommend you grill these meatballs but when our grill wasn't working I did them in the oven and they come out ok like that as well but the meatballs went a bit hard. They taste delish, proper beefy with a bit of an onion flavour. I've had them loads of times in different ways and I've never been disappointed or anything with them. I had some with bolognese sauce and spaghetti and they were yummy like that and it felt like I was eating a proper Italian bolognese. I have also tried the serving suggestion that is on the front of the pack, you can just make it out on the photo Dooyoo have got up. You just put meatballs on skewers with whatever vegetables you like best, I had red onion and fat baby sweetcorn and then I grilled them. That was yummy and both my sisters enjoyed eating them like that, I reckon the smaller meatballs would be even better for this because the meatballs took longer to cook than the vegetables when I've done it. Recommended... fresh beefy meatballs that everyone will love!!!
