Last summer I took a long haul flight departing from Heathrow. I really enjoy browsing the duty free whilst waiting for my flight to be called. I normally buy Boots No7 make up,but decided to treat myself to a concealer from the Yves St Laurent counter. I have actually never used a concealer before, but was persuaded by the promise that this concealer would cover dark circles and puffiness around my eyes. As I was about to be very sleep deprived, this sounded good to me! I cant remember exactly how much I paid, but it was less than the £22 price tag I see offered on most web sites! The concealer comers in a very classy looking gold metal tube and looks like a lipstick. There was only one colour choice;nude/beige. The concealer stick has a bevelled tip making it easy to apply to small areas of the face. The information states that this concealer is suitable for all areas of the face including the delicate eye area. It is also claimed that it will help even any imperfections helping to give the skin a more even tone. I sometimes suffer from red patches on my face, especially when my skin gets dry.As flying dries skin,I was keen to see how good this little pale coloured stick was! The concealer is easy to use;just push up and apply over your foundation. It has a really creamy texture so glides on easily. This is important when you are applying to the eye area as you don't want to pull the skin. If you use face powder, then you will need to apply this after you have used the concealer. I use my fingertips to blend the concealer in. So how good is it? On a scale on 1-10,I would give this a 6. It does help to make dark circles look paler although had little effect on my puffy, tired eyes! I have used it to try to make my sun spots look less noticeable and the results are OK,but not brilliant. This concealer is good for making spots look less noticeable, although you do need to ensure you blend well, otherwise you end up with a pale *blob*! Overall this is not a bad concealer, but I suspect there are others on the market that are just as good with a lower price tag!
