Pallete Del Mar Vol 2 - Great Summer Shades

I bought the 'Sleek MakeUP i-Divine Eyeshadow Pallete Del Mar, Volume 2' from Amazon - slightly different colours to the above picture though.

Comes in a black matt plastic box with discreet branding on the outside. Inside is a mirrored lid, twelve round discs of coloured shadow, a plastic protector giving the colour names, and a double ended foam pad applicator (which is rubbish). My other niggle was that the flip up lid was very stiff – having to make that extra effort means the plastic protector and the applicator go flying once it does 'give'.

The colour palette is very much 'Late Afternoon in Ibiza':
Loco – a pearly peach shade
      San Antonio – A matt peach/pale orange
Ibiza Rocks – a sunshine yellow
      Zoola – Pearly gold
Pura Vida – a khaki green
      Spotlight – a dark grey
Pearl – a shimmery ivory shade
      Ushuaia – a pale brown/beige shade
      Puro – a pale pinky-lilac.
      Bora Bora – A bright blue-green shade
Ocean Beach – A darker bluey green
Siesta – A classic dark brown.

I wasn't entirely convinced that I could work with all the colours. I recommend watching the demo on the Sleek website as that gave me some pointers.

My initial concerns of some of the colours being too bright were unfounded, even the more pigmented shades were quite subtle and you'd have to put a lot on to look 'over-done'. After a few attempts I managed to get the balance right.

My eye make-up lasted all evening. Coming off only with a dedicated eye make up remover. My only concern is that the little discs of colour could run out quicker than in some sets, as you need to use quite a bit of some of the paler shades.

      In conclusion

The packaging and colour selection says to me that it is marketed at younger women, but I have found that most of the colours are quite wearable and I like that it has got be out of my comfort zone of neutral shades.

A gorgeous set of highly pigmented eyeshadows

As someone who is obsessed with finding the best make-up products out there I have tried a range of eyeshadow palettes in the past.I can honestly say that I've never been so impressed with an eyeshadow palette in my life.

I recieved the 'Au Naturel' Sleek i-Divine palette as a gift from my aunt who is also very fond of searching for the best, newest make-up products on the market. Eyeshadow was probably one of the make-up items I used the least out of everythingbut after having a go with the beautiful browns and shimmery pearl colours of the 'Au Naturel' palette I couldn't put it down. It became an essential part of my daily make-up routine. The colours are a beautiful mixture of matte browns/blacks/whites and all variations inbetween then a couple of more shimmery colours which I adore.

I find that the easiest and most effective way to apply the eyeshadow is to use a fluffy eye blending brush and pat the product on to the eyelid rather than sweeping to ensure that all of the product sticks onto the lid beautifully. I often use the browner shades with an angled brush to fill out my eyebrows which is very handy, meaning I don't have to carry two separate compacts around with me.

All in all I'd highliy recommend this eyeshadow palette to anyone who's looking for highly pigmented and varying eye colour. Since I loved this one so much I went and bought the same palette in 'Vintage Romance' which has a gorgeous variety of golds, purples and browns.

      Sleek Eye Shadow Palette

I love Sleek make up and have been using it for the past year or so after hearing about it from one of my best friends. She always has lovely make up so I decided that I might as well give it a try and I am so glad that I did.

      What I Thought
I am in absolute love with this palette. I had bought it not really expecting much from it, but the pigmentation is fantastic, making it really easy to apply and try out new looks.
The colour selection in this palette is really good, it allows me to go for smoky or natural looks, there is a few paler, more natural nude shades and then also more bolder colours like silver, blue/purple, dark grey and black as well, all in all there are 12 eye shadows in total, so you end up paying less than £1 per colour. They are all quite shimmery which is lovely as it brightens up my eyes and really makes them stand out.
I find that the black colour in this palette is really good for lining my eyes, I like to use a small, thin brush to line they top and bottom of them and with the added shimmer of this eye shadow I find this really easy.
These eye shadows have really good staying power and don't smudge or look messy on my eyes, they just blend in nicely whether I am applying them with a brush or my finger. I don't really feel the need to use eye primer when I am wearing these as they usually stay on really well so it isn't needed. Also I like the packaging because they come with a mirror, which is really handy when you are on the go and find yourself without a mirror.
I will definitely be investing in some new palettes in the future, I have my eye on the natural palette at the moment and just wish I would have spotted it before I bought the urban decay naked palette to be honest.

      Price and Availability
I have only ever been able to track down any sleek make up in Superdrug, though I am sure that it is sold online as well. I bought my palette for around £8 from memory, which was a fairly reasonable price as I have been using it for months and it is still going strong, also its great quality and compared to the urban decay eye shadows, this one is definitely more economical.

      Overall
I really love this palette and would recommend it to anyone who loves shimmery eye shadows, there is a great range of colours available and these are really good quality as well, especially for the price! Overall I would give this palette 5 out of 5 stars and I cannot wait to try out the other palettes as well.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      a great buy!

I bought this eye shadow palette from Superdrug as it was on offer at the time. A 2 for 1 offer meant that this palette cost me under a fiver. For 12 eye shadow colours, I think this is a brilliant deal. So I bought 2 of them and my friend gave me half the money, so effectively I got it half price. However, I would consider this to be a very useful palette and if I saw one again in Superdrug or online, I would definitely buy one again at full price.

      The product

This eye shadow palette has 12 individual eye colours inside. I wouldn't usually list lots of things in my reviews, but if it was me reading this, I would want to know what colours are inside. The colours aren't named, so I have described them as best as I can. There is : a matte black, a vivid purple, a midnight blue, a sky blue, a forest green, a metallic lime green, pale gold, rose pink with gold pigment, shimmery petal pink, rusty bronze, a metallic high pigment gold and finally, my favourite the metallic, highly shimmery khaki green. The eye shadows are encased in a slim, black flip-top palette. On the front of the palette, the Sleek logo is written in shiny writing, which stands out from the matte black of the plastic. The case has a large mirror inside, covering the whole lid of the case. The eye shadows are in little round discs which do seem to be very secure so I don't have to worry about them falling out of their discs. However, I would worry about the colours shattering as they are mineral eye shadows. There is also a small, thin empty column underneath the colours, which is where I keep my own eye shadow brush. It did come with a double ended sponge brush, but the sponge doesn't give a good texture on my eyelids. They are mineral shadows, so I pat them on rather than sweep them onto my eyelids.

      My opinion

I really like this eye shadow palette. There are periods of time where I use it everyday. I find that because there is such a mix of different colours, some more neutral and some much more suited to night time wear, that I can use them for every eventuality. The colours have brilliant staying power and don't crease easily, if at all. The colour I have used most is the khaki green and the darker petal pink. The least used colour in my palette is the black, mainly because I don't wear too many dark colours. As the colours are quite shimmery I usually find I get a small amount of fall out from my brush, and then I go to wipe it away and end up with purple/blue/green glittery smudges on my cheeks. My tip would be to dust a little translucent powder onto your cheeks just under the eyes before doing your eye shadow, then if you have had any fall out, you can just brush the powder away and it takes the colour with it! Easy Peasy!
My only niggle I have with this product is that it isn't handbag friendly. I wouldn't carry this around with me as the colours can shatter very easily. The sky blue in my palette has cracked and this is from being in my handbag all day. I think this could be due to the fact that the colours are not packed in too much because of them being mineral based. However, on a lighter note, the big mirror in the palette is brilliant, because you can see a rather large portion on your face, rather than just being one eye at a time. Overall, I would definitely buy this product again, it has come in handy time and time again and has lasted me a very long time! Completely worth the money, and saves space having all those colours in one place!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

great for experimenting when you don't want to pay high end prices

12 eyeshadows for under a fiver, whats not to love!
Sleek, a brand found either online or in superdrug have produced an utter bargin, that i use often when im off out to a party. The palette itself is simple and thin, and therefore perfect for travelling, and looks professional in an all black case.

Each eyeshadow is provided in a round circle, the size of about a pound and there is an excellent range of colours. The upper line gives us much darker colours in the form of blacks, dark puples, blues and greens, while the lower tray gives us pinks, golds, bronzes and also an olive green. None are matte colours, each has a bit of sparkle in them to help bring your eyes to life. Sleek also provide us with a double ended sponge applicator.

The eyeshadows themselves are not of the best quality, but that is expected when paying £5 for a palette. They are crumbly and i find they tend to slip if a base is not used. Sleek do produce a primer to go with their eyeshadows, but i have found my foundation works just as well.

I tend to apply my eyeshadows using a small eyeshadow brush from the body shop instead of the sponge applicator provided as it is crumbly, and this helps me get the best effect. I find that with the sponge applicator eyeshadow tends to not spread as evenly and i often found little eyeshadow dots along my cheek bone under my eye.
Also as they are so crumbly the eyeshadow does break evenly and you do need to be careful when carrying them around.

The colours in the palette have been matched really well together, and many blend together to product a wonderful effect, for example the gold and the olive green produce a beautiful combination. With the right technique and a bit of practice i think this palatte has all you need to produce beautiful eye makeup.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Great for anyone who wants to be a bit experimental with different colours and makeup looks.

These palettes are real gems. They can only be bought from Superdrug or directly from Sleek.
The packaging is a simple, black palette with a large, useful mirror. They are great for transporting around but you have to be gentle with them as they may crumble or break as they are mineral shadows. There are twelve shades in each palette that all compliment each other fantastically and several different palettes available, including limited edition ones.
They are brilliant value for money, I purchased the 'Storm' Palette, a neutral but beautiful range of colours that would suit everyone. It is easy to create different looks by mixing and matching the colours. There is a mix of Matte and Shimmer shades, all of which very practical and wearable.

The eyeshadows are gorgeously soft and very pigmented. They feel very high quality, but can be occasionally crumbly. Because of this, you do get a bit of fall out when you apply them to your eyes. Also, as they are so crumbly they may mix together whilst in your makeup bag, leaving a bit of a mess. Having said that, they last a long time when used with primer and do not crease. They can be used wet or dry and work as a fantastic eyeliner.

Snap it up for a fiver and have some make-up fun!

Sleek in the perfect way to describe this slim black eyeshadow palette. With 12 colours for under a fiver, it was impossible for me to resist trying it out. There are a few different Sleek palettes available, and my review is for the Divine palette.

I love the range of colours in this palette. Along the top row we have black, purple, a very dark blue-grey, electric blue, emerald green and a gold-green. On the bottom row we have a pale gold, two pinks, an orangey-bronze, a brown-bronze and an olive green. A lot of the colours go together so you can have fun trying out different combinations and mixing-and-matching. The colours range from subtle (the gold and pinks) to very bright (the purple and blue) so you can create a full range of looks from this one palette, and it can take you easily from day to night.

For the price the quality of the shadows is very good, although the powders are not fine and can seem slightly crumbly on application. For this reason I would recommend using an eyeshadow brush to ensure application is light and even, rather than the long, double-ended sponge applicator that comes with the palette.

I use several of these shadows as an eyeliner, and the sponge applicator is ideal for this as it is quite pointy at the ends. My fave eyeliner combo is to mix the grey-blue and the emerald green together, but both look great on their own too.

For the price this is a great buy and is ideal for anyone who wants to experiment with their make-up and try out some new colour combos without breaking the bank. It's also ideal to take on holiday as it's lovely and slim, and you can create such a wide range of looks from the colours provided.
