I am a huge fan of Nails Inc and never bore of the different colours they make and release each season. Even better, Nails Inc have developed a range of Special Effects which include leather, feather, and the one I'm reviewing here: 3D Glitter. It's no ordinary glitter polish, oh no, it's very special indeed.
In the past I've tried metallics and glitter polishes and whilst I like them, they are never intense enough for me so when I received a pink 3D glitter in a Nails Inc box set for Christmas that I liked, I looked up the other colours they do and found this blue Fitzroy Square. To my knowledge there are at least three blue 3D glitters from Nails Inc to choose from.
Whilst it looks lovely in the bottle (see picture) nothing tests a nail varnish until you've tried it on the nail. I had some dark blue on the toes and felt this would make an ideal base for this varnish as it goes on a bit clear if you just use it on its own so it's best used over a solid block of colour. It applies thickly but dries in minutes. The colour just does not budge and you can't see the underneath colour, just the solid glittery top. If you look closely before it dries you can see a load of different shapes and complementary coloured glitter in tiny and bigger sizes. When it dries you can't distinguish these content. It dries to a bit of a matt finish (but still glittery) but you can gloss it up with a top coat which helps with the longevity.
This is really difficult to budge from the nail so you need a decent remover and a bit of time on your hands as you do have to scrub away but it works eventually! I end up with a heap of used cotton wool pads when I've finished but I do get a few weeks (on toes) from this nail polish. On fingers it lasts around five days but then I get some wear at the tops that looks a little like shrinkage from the edge so it has to come off.
I love this colour but I do prefer it on my toes to nails. It also makes a great accent for the ring finger or a tips highlighter if you are after the special effect in a not so over the top way. I have not found any glitter polishes as intense as this one, it really is the best I've tried so far.
A bottle of this costs £11 from the Nails Inc website or a department store counter but it can be bought a little cheaper if you can find it in a set.
This really is a very special nail varnish and worthy of its title. The 3D look is unarguable on this and it lives up to its claim. It seems expensive but is worth paying for the quality and longevity. The satisfaction I get from one bottle of Nails Inc is far more than ten bottles of any other cheaper polish! If you like glittery nail polish you should try this but wear it over a block colour to get the best effect and the best thing is that the base colour alters the top finished glittery effect so you can have fun trying out all shades to find your favourite.
