Maybelline One by One mascara is one of my all time favourites. It is so easy to use and it gives your lashes all they need: volume, lenght and definition. All in one product, which sounds perfect, doesn't it? The wand has the perfect length and allows you to have the right amount of control during the application. The brush itself is quite fat, with short plastic bristles, so it might not be the right mascara to use for bottom lashes as the application might be a bit tricky. Personally, this is something which does not bother me. The formula is not too wet, which is a plus for me, but it manages not to dry out quickly, so you can actually use the product for months (I believe the PAO is 6 months). It does not clump on your lashes, even if you put more than two coats, and I've found it to be very long lasting - at least on me. If have to find a downside, it'd be the packaging. It's bright pink, with neon green writings on it, which does not really appeal me. Plus, it's one of those fat, cheap looking bottles which I'm not really a fan of. But, whatever. Nevertheless, the product is really an amazing mascara, totally a winner for me. Contents belong to me. Published on my personal blog.
Not probably, but most definitely the best mascara I have ever used! I am very fussy with my make up and often feel let down, and skint when trying to find the right product for me. I have tried so many mascaras and every time I find one I like, for some reason it ends up being discontinued, which I am beginning to think is now a curse! I had never tried a Maybeline product before as I thought the range looked cheap and tacky. This mascara came out and basically caught my eye primarily due to the fact that it was on offer as buy 2 get the third free - so obviously being a bit of a bargain hunter I thought I would invest! I went the whole hog needless to say and chanced buying 3 black mascaras, one being waterproof. I was honestly not keen on the waterproof one as I couldn't seem to get it off when I wanted to! It's perfect for holidays, beach, swimming etc but come night time, there was no budging it and seemed to smear around my face instead! The normal one is perfect. Extenuates your eyes brilliantly. My sister now uses it also and she suffers terribly with sensitive eyes, but has no problem with this mascara. Definitely the best mascara out there at the moment, and hopefully it will be out there for a while!! It is a reasonable price also.
I bought this mascara when I ran out of my previous Maybelline Colossal one, it was the newest one and was on sale plus I loved the colour of the tube. The brush was big and thick like the Colossal one and made of the same rubber material but a different colour, so I wasn't really expecting there to be any difference. I was expecting the same use long eyelashes I had before however I was quite disappointed as it was a bit more clumpier and harder to coat all my lashes well. My eyelashes looked a lot stickier and spider leg like too which I really hated. It definitely gave me the look of wearing false eyelashes but really horrible cheap ones. I went to take to off and was expecting it to be slightly easier than removing Colossal as it was supposed to be a new and improved version but it was just as tough to remove and took baby wipes and warm flannel! I really don't recommend this mascara at all, it's not even good for one coat! I suggest sticking with the Colossal or falsies or moving onto another brand entirely!
The Mission Mascara is one of my fundamental beauty products. I like wearing low-maintenance mascaras that don't need constant reapplying to look good. I prefer volumising mascaras to lengthening or curling ones as I find that this is the only thing that an eyelash curler cannot achieve. The Purchase Before buying this mascara I was a fan of Maybelline's Great Lash mascara. However as the trend for false lashes really took off I was left underwhelmed at the natural look of this mascara. I wanted my eyelashes to really stand out and frame my eyes. I was attracted to this product by its bright coloured packaging and its promise to catch every single lash. I have found that a good brush is key to a good mascara and I was impressed at how you could see the brush in the packaging (the mascara tube is sealed with the brush packaged next to it). The brush is rubber with lots of little rubber spikes. I could immediately see how it would catch 'even the smallest lashes' and the fact that a waterproof option was available coupled with a cunning 3 for 2 offer secured my purchase. The mascara is normally around the eight pound mark. However it is routinely on 3 for 2 offers at both Boots and Superdrug. The Result I sampled both the waterproof and normal mascaras and although both were far above average it was the waterproof mascara that stole my heart. Both mascaras do provide incredible volume. Thebrush catcheds each lash and the mascara really coats and plumps the lashes to create dramatic volume. The brush was easy to manipulate and tapers at the end to make it easy to catch the little lashes on the inner corner of the eye. The normal mascara left a glossy black finish that looked healthy and lustrous and felt really nourishing for my lashes. However it was slightly greasy and was not invincible to smudging. It wore off slower than most mascaras but faster than I would have liked. The waterproof mascara provided a more matte finish that initially looked less dramatic but this was more than made up for by its longevity. I have NEVER had a mascara with this level of staying power. Throughout my holiday in Croatia it would stay on all day, through hangover induced eye rubbing, sweating and swimming. I am a contact lens wearer and I was impressed at how it stuck to my lashes and didn't flake into my eyes. It is definitely the perfect holiday mascara. The Overall Evaluation This product definitely has its shortcomings. If you are not into eyelash curlers you may prefer a curved brush to add a lengthening curl. If you have short lashes you may prefer a mascara that does more to add length. However if you are looking for lashes full of volume and free of clumps then this is the mascara for you. PS the bright pink tube makes it easy to locate in a handbag.
I have just finished using my first tube of Volume Express One by One and had already got my next tube lined up and ready to go. I use a lot of Maybelline products for my base makeup and had previously been using the 'Great Lash' product. As i went to the Maybelline section of the Boots store there had been an offer of extra Advantage card points with the One by One, and if I am honest that spurred me to try it. It has eye-catching packaging and an intriguingly shaped wand. (You have to insert the wand yourself for the first application) which is more novel. And due to the bright tube and the clash of the blue writing it does stand out next to the more plain jane, 'Great Lash' product. I find the first time I try any mascara I am initially impressed as the wand glides over your lashes easily without clumping but this mascara continues to impress the more you wear it. The mascara is a good thickness and the wand works wonders. My lashes looked longer and fuller and the mascara never clumped. The wand picks up just the right amount of liquid and applies it very even over your lashes, As the wand is tapered I also find it can get onto those smaller corner lashes as well. The mascara stays on all day without wearing off and doesn't smudge easily. I didn't opt for the waterproof option as I find them too difficult to get off my lashes at the end of the day and I'm glad as the standard version can be difficult enough to wipe away! That is one of the only problems and I find I have to hold the makeup remover on the lashes for a while for it to dissolve it so it comes off easier. Other than that I also find that after around 3 months the mascara looses its quality. After this it appears to get thicker and is slightly less easier to apply. But I have to say there are still no clumps and it still works to lengthen and thicken your lashes. I know you are supposed to renew your makeup every so many months anyway so the deterioration may to be expected. At a price of around £8.50 you can't grumble at all!
Being an avid user of Maybelline I was excited to try this out. For 8.49 from Boots I thought this was an ok price compared to there other mascaras which are usually around that price. As well as the mascara itself there is also a waterproof version however I opted for non-waterproof. One thing I love about this mascara is the packaging it, it comes in a super cute bright pink tube with blue writing. This was what originally caught my eye whilst I was browsing in Boots. The brush itself is quite big and very oval shaped which I knew would be good for volumising. The mascara claims capture, coat and clean lashes. This is exactly what it did. I myself have super short lashes but using this mascara made them super long and voluminous. It also lasts throughout the whole day which I love love love. From then on I was hooked. Obviously it didn't give the same effect as fake lashes but it is sure pretty close. My lashes look so much better when I've used this and it has definitely become one of my holy grail products. In terms of lasting time this does not apply to me as I throw out my mascara every three months to save it from drying out. Overall it is a great buy and I for sure recommend.
Are you sick of paying for mascaras that are useless? Are you frustrated with those horrible clumps on the brush? If yes, then try this!! This little beauty right here, is without a doubt THE best mascara I've ever used. Since first using mascara I've always looked for ones that would add some length and volume to my lashes. Most of which sadly, didn't work. Obviously you don't know until you try, but you don't want to be wasting your money either. After (as always) reading up on a few reviews, I decided to purchase this one. - And I'm so glad I did! The brush is made of a sort of plastic-type material, with bristles that aren't too close together, therefore preventing clumping of the mascara on the brush. The other thing I really like about the brush is that it really does lengthen your lashes one-by-one, without them all sticking together. You can also add extra coats and it doesn't look too thick. The shape of the tip makes it much easier to reach the corner lashes without making black smudges on your face. The casing isn't too bulky nor too long, and it fits perfectly in my make-bag. (Which isn't very big!) So if you're thinking of giving this a go, then I highly recommend you do! UPDATE: Since writing this review and buying several of these mascaras, I kept coming across the same problem. The first few weeks of using this is fine, no problems. But then after that the mascara formula seems to become slightly gloopy and causes clumps on the wand. This is a shame cause it would otherwise be a great mascara. After this I went on a search for other mascaras with a plastic wand instead of the traditional bristle wands and have since found a couple I would recommend. One being the Mineral Infused mascara from the E.L.F studio line, for a natural look that can be built up. Or the Eye Brightening Black Tonal Volumising Mascara by Max Factor. I won't go into detail about these as I have reviews for them, I just thought I should do an update since my opinion on this product has changed. This mascara is still ok... And doesn't clump if I coat my lashes with a little vaseline beforehand. However this is a lot of messing about and now have other mascaras I like so probably won't repurchase this one.
Having been impressed by Maybelline before, I felt pretty confident in buying another one of their mascara's. Maybelline is a trusted company and produce amazing quality products. They aren't too expensive and aren't cheap , they are affordable and good quality. ~PRICE~ The price of this mascara in BOOTS is £8.49. In my opinion it is a little pricey, however you do get what you pay for. If you compare this price to many of Maybelline's other mascara's it's actually quite expensive. The average price for their mascaras is around £5-£6. You pay for the look and quality - which in that case I am pleased with because it is good quality. ~WATERPROOF~ It is 100% waterproof! I applied as instructed and went straight into the shower and sprayed my face to mimic rain and tears and I have to say it stuck on like glue! No running, no smearing or smudging, no fall outs, nothing...it would not budge! I was very pleased with this as I have bought supposed waterproof mascaras before from Maybelline and i've ended up looking like a panda! But this - nothing. Fabulous! ~COVERAGE~ The coverage of the mascara is really good. No clumps, smooth and really natural looking. It Really does make your eyelashes look longer than they actually are. I have naturally long lashes and when I bought this my friends asked if I was wearing false eye lashes because my eyes looked so good. This is very good for people with light and not very long lashes. It lasts a long time. I know you should wash it off when you go to bed but I purposely didn't so I could see how long it would last. Well it lasted around 3 days straight...without the need to reapply or wipe away. It stuck on really well. ~PACKAGING~ The mascara comes in a red/pink tube that is smooth and shiny. It was very eye catching when placed on the shelf. It doesn't feel cheaply made like some mascara tubes are, the plastic used is thick and keeps the liquid inside fresh and long lasting. This is one of Maybelline's brightest mascaras and you wouldn't miss it , it is very bright! The brush is nice and chunky to allow maximum coverage. ~OVERALL~ I recommend this mascara as it does what it says on the label. It is waterproof, it gives the impression of longer looking lashes and doesn't smudge at all! It lasts a long time and personally I think it's great for someone that works all day and wants to keep their eyes looking great all day! ~also on ciao under the same name~
As I have recently been on holiday, I had to buy waterproof mascara to take with me as I would be spending most of my time in the pool. I don't normally use waterproof mascara as I find it extremely difficult to remove but had heard good things about Maybelline's Volum' Express One by One Mascara so thought I would give it a go whilst I was away. ** Availability and Price ** This mascara is available in Boots and Superdrug and can be picked up in supermarkets which stock Maybelline products. It RRPs between £6 and £7 but I picked mine up on offer for 3 for 2 and received a free Maybelline tote bag with it. ** Packaging ** The mascara comes in a chunky pink tube that has blue writing on it which states that the product us 'Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Mascara'. The tube has a screw top on it which, when pulled out, reveals a black stick with a blue wand on the end of it. ** The Mascara ** Maybelline claim that this mascara is 'bold without the bulk' and provides 'instant clump free volume'. The lash catcher brush is designed to 'coat and declump' and uses three bristles per lash to make every lash count. For best results, it is advised that you sweep the brush upwards from root to tip to ass volume to each lash. Continue building the lashes, avoiding letting them dry between coats, until you have reached you desired look. ** Lashes with volume? ** This mascara is extremely waterproof and I found it very difficult to remove it after wearing it all day, as I do with all waterproof mascaras. It left my lashes feeling clogged up, thick and heavy after washing myself and I was constantly rubbing my eyes to try and relieve this feeling. I didn't feel as though my lashes had been given the look advertised by Maybelline and they still looked short and stubby and, even though there were no clumps and my lashes were extremely black, they seemed to set in all different directions making me look as though I had done my make up in the dark. I like the packaging for this product as it is very bright and girly and the chunky tube makes it more difficult to lose. Also, I liked the fact that I did not come out of the pool looking like a panda. However, with the look that that mascara had given me, I could have gone out without mascara and looked pretty much the same, apart from the fact that my lashes would be blond rather than black. I hated the feel of my lashes after washing my face and found that I was applying so many layers to try and make them stand out that it took me ages to get ready. I will not be buying this mascara again and wouldn't recommend it to others unless you are desperate to have black eyelashes that look exactly the same as your natural lashes or you want to go swimming without getting panda eyes.
This is by far the best mascara I have used. It is an intense black, it did not smudge beneath my lower lashes (as I have found tends to happen with other mascaras) and there were no clumps. Due to the shape of the brush it separates all the lashes and coats them. The tip of the brush is small so it is easy to target specific lashes. There are lots of small points on the brush and they are plastic rather than your usual bristled brush. Because of this they are stronger, catch all the lashes and separate them effectively rather than just smoothing the mascara over them as other mascara brushes do. This mascara allows you to be precise and because it separates the lashes so well it coats more of the lash, not just the underside. It is almost impossible to overload the brush so you don't end up with clumping or a spidery look. I would definitely recommend it.
No lying needed here, I bought this mascara not because someone would recommend it to me but because of its tubes wild colours. It's just as natures law, we are attracted to pretty colours. The tube is also a bit bigger and wider than your regular mascara but it looks so sleek and elegant I am sure no one minds. It is a bit more expensive than the "cheapest" mascaras but still not overpriced. As for the mascara itself I must say I am really satisfied with it, the liquid is smooth enough you can easily apply on your lashes and it does not have clumps . It has a gentle scent (I have come across mascaras that almost killed me with their stench). It does make your lashes a bit longer, they definitely are more defined, they lashes are separated and they curl up a little bit. The mascara dries up quick so there will be no smudges and black eyes (there might be some very light smudges if it is extremely hot and you are sweating like a pig as I have recently found out). It is of really intense black colour. The look you get is well defined but it is still natural. I really love that. The wand is easy to hold in the hand and "operate". I am now half way down the tube and the texture of the liquid is the same as it was in the beginning. The bottle/tube did not smear. As for now I am really satisfied with this one and if I will need a mascara in a hurry this will be the one I will buy. If not well the next nice mascara that catches my eyes will be in my shopping cart, but if that one will be bad I will again be buying this, I could say this one is now my "safe zone" mascara. I do recommend this one!
I'm not a huge makeup fan, a little bit of mascara each day does me just fine, unless of course I have a night out or special occasion then I chuck my whole face on. I won one this Maybelline mascara from a competition, and was quite pleased, always like a prize that is useful! ** Packaging ** The mascara is presented in a bright pink, almost red circular tube that fattens around the middle. The name is printed on the front of the tube in a turquoise colour. The lid of the tube is also the mascara brush, it looks kind of like an ice cream cone shape so it's nice to grip. The lash catcher, or as most people like to call it, the brush, is almost an inch long, and the bristles are shaped in a curve, starting tiny and gradually getting slightly bigger, then going back to small again. Overall the packaging is very pleasing to the eye and stands out from other mascaras on display. ** Using ** When I apply my daily dose of mascara, one coat of this will do me just fine. It makes them look slightly longer, more defined and noticeable. One coat doesn't give in your face eyelashes, but a nice subtle look. When I go out I apply 2 or 3 coats depending on what kind of look I'm going for. With other mascaras I have found that adding more coats clumps the mascara up considerably, however this One by One mascara doesn't clump at all! It gives me fantastic volume, and sexy looking eyelashes. ** Price ** Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Mascara is currently available from feelunique.com for £5.85, it is also available from the normal Boots, Superdrug type places for a few more £'s ** Overall ** I'd definitely recommend this mascara, it does exactly what it says it will do. When my stash of different mascaras has run out I'll definitely be investing in this one. A day look and night look are both easily achievable with this.
I'm always trying new mascaras to try and revive my long but extremely thin eyelashes and I think I've probably tried them all! This one is definitely a favourite, it gave me a volumised effect without any clumpiness at all. The consistency of the mascara itself it really good - you get just the right amount on the brush with very little excess. I just tend to wipe the tip of the brush for when I'm trying to get into the corners. That brings me onto my next point - I also really liked the curvy shape of brush, as the thin end was great for getting into the corners but the think middle really separates and thickens. If you brush right from the base of the lashes it separates them well. I do find I need a couple of coats, but I think that varies to each individual. But even with one coat for a more casual/minimal look, it looks great. Overall it's great for adding volume, but not recommended if you're looking to lengthen.
I have no loyalty when it comes to make up - I rarely buy the same product twice, I'm always seduced by the next big thing on the market. However, I've just bought my third Maybelline Volum Express One By One Mascara. It's the best mascara I've used in quite some time. What I like about the mascara is that the rubber brush makes application it easy, you can add plenty of coats without any clumps. It definitely adds length to you lashes and good volume without giving you the spiders leg effect, the consistency is spot on. The other thing I like about this mascara is that it stays put, you don't have panda eyes by the end of the day. My only criticism is that it dried out fairly quickly and this is why I have deducted a star, but I think overall this product is great value for money - plus Superdrug has a 3 for 2 offer on all Maybelline products at the moment.
I'm a bit of a mascara addict and i'm always buying new ones to try, with this bein one of my most recent purchases. I bought this after seeing it instore at Boots as i was instantly attracted to the chunky, unusual design and i do think it's quite a statement product because of the unique design - most mascara brands make there tubes as thin and sleek as possible for the 'elegant' look. I paid £8.49 (basically £8.50!) which is very slightly expensive for a mascara in my eyes, however as i was confident in the quality bein good (i find maybelline products to be of good standards), i decided it was worth it. This mascara is also available online on websites such as eBay, online chemists etc at slightly cheaper prices but i'd be wary of fakes to be honest so would reccomend to buy in store as then you know what you're getting. I got this in black and as far as i am aware this is the only colour available. The 9ml mascara tube is a bright coral reddy pink, (basically red!) with green writing on the front which says the product name (Maybelline Volum' Express One By One Mascara), the design of the font isn't really very elegant or attractive and the reddish tube isn't the most discreet, versatile or sleek, but it makes the mascara stand out from the rest i suppose! Both the mascara tube and the brush are chunky but a great shape which makes handling it easy - it's easy to get a good grip of and as the bottle's thick and slightly curved it's so easy to hold and guide well without fiddling about! The lid, like all mascaras, is a screw-on lid with the brush attatched to it. The mascara brush (or Lash Capture brush as Maybelline like to call it!) is flexibe, quite chunky and the bristles are quite stubby and are thick, but not ridiculously, off-puttingly so, and i do find they seperate the lashes very well and apply a nice amount of mascara evenly and precisely. The brush, according to Maybelline, has 3 bristles per lash. The brush is quite long so reaches down to the bottom of the tube to ensure no mascara goes to waste. One coat of this and in my opinion the lashes look the same but slightly longer. It's only 2/3 coats down the line that the long, dramatic look starts to appear, which is good because it does make the mascara much more versatile then if it made the eyelashes huge after just one coat as i can wear it discreetly to work or wear it out on the town for a much more sexier, long lashed look. The length this gives after a few coats is visibly noticeable, and even better it doesn't clump even after loads of coats. It doesn't feel heavy or flake which is great and it lasts throughout the day. If leaving it on overnight, like most mascara's it will make the lashes dry out so i do reccomend removing it after use. Removing it is easy, and the process usually takes just 1 makeup wipe and there are no issues with it making my eyes sore or red. Overall, it builds the lashes up and adds length, defining the eyes and overall looking good. The quality isn't amazing but is good as there are no issues with clumping. It's a durable and versatile product and the unique design of the bottle is very eye catching. The feel of the mascara is light and overall i would reccomend this!
