After hearing missglamorazzi say that this is comparable with the YSL Touche eclat radiant touch if not better, I knew I had to get it. Back then this wasn't available in the UK so I had given up hope and forgot all about it. Until one day I saw this in Boots and I was just so excited...that is until I saw the price, 6.99. This maybe very little compared to the YSL one but still 7 pounds on something that looked quite small...I just couldn't do it. That day I searched it online to see if I could find it for a cheaper price and my my did I find a winner! I came across FragranceDirect.co.uk and I saw that they were priced at 1.99...YES! 1.99 I went crazy and immediately ordered it. Thankfully, I knew what shade I was because I had tried it out in store. It arrived quite soon and I went to Boots to see if it's the same as the one they are selling there and it was the same. I have been using this for months now and here is my review.
PRICE & AVAILABILITY
This is available in Boots and Superdrugs at the price of 6.99. I checked FragranceDirect again recently and this is still there but unfortunately only one shade is available which is Sand.
This looks like a pen, sometimes I ally put this in my pencil case when clearing up. Hehe :) The packing is quite nice. It has a lid at one end which when you take of there is a brush and the product is dispensed from there. At the opposite end there is a twisty thingy and you just simply twist that for the product to come out. Quite simple. However, one thing I about this is when putting the lid back on you have to be very careful to not catch any of the bristles of the brush or else the next time you open it the bristles will be all over the place.
I got this in the shade Ivory and I believe that is the lightest you can get. I may be wrong. I purposely got this in the lightest possible because I wanted to use this as a highlighter rather than a concealer. So I don't use this on any blemishes or anything like that because it doesn't cover it well and the colour is too light. I use this under my eyes because I have some very dark eye circles. I was planning on using this with my undereye concealer but after appling this I didn't feel like I needed anything more. This instantly brightens the under eyes. I love it! I never leave the house without this. I also apply this to the bridge of my nose and to my cheeks. It gives me a nice glow. The consistency is not thick so its very easy to blend and the best this of all is that it doesn't crease when I use it under my eyes.
I think I am in love with this product. I have been using this nearly everyday for the last few months and still it hasn't run out. I'm shocked. The coverage of this is just perfect for under the eyes. It illuminates the skin and gives it a healthy glow. It also lasts for about 6 hours before I need to touch up which I think is quite good. Will I buy this again? Yup. As soon as this runs out I will be rushing to Boots.
Having a young toddler, pets and horses oh and a busy work schedule it does mean that my skin can need a little help by the effectiveness of foundation, powder and concealer! With my life not due to slow down for quite some time I am always on the hunt for the next great product. I recently needed a new concealer with my last one becoming pretty useless and not wanting to waste it I persevered but having finally used the last of it up I could now hopefully find a concealer worthy of covering up little imperfections.
After searching around I eventually settled on the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer after hearing some great feedback on it I thought it was definitely worth a try. I have been using quite a few of Maybelline's products recently and been quite happy with the results and the quality so I didn't mind giving this concealer a go although I'm not normally a fan of liquid concealers I wasn't going to be put off by that.
== The Concealer ==
According to Maybelline the Maybelline Dream Lumi Tough Highlighting Concealer is their first gel based concealer which has a formula specifically created to diffuse light and therefore illuminate the skin and also at the same time concealing imperfections.
The light diffusing formula has also been created to give a light, natural looking finish with looking heavy or like some liquid concealers giving that caked on appearance which soon creases. The aim of the concealer is that it makes your skin look "brighter and awakened" whilst helping to even out the tone and texture of your skin so ideal for all skin types.
== Packaging ==
The concealer comes in a slender, pale metallic gold type tube which could also be mistaken for a pen as it is the same sort of shape. It has a clear plastic lid/top so you can easily see the bristles of the applicator brush. Around the tube there is the product name, Maybelline font logo together with all the other information one would expect such as ingredients, Maybelline contact info and of course the chosen shade.
== In Use ==
The concealer is in liquid form as stated above and to get the concealer out of the tube and onto your skin you need to twist the one end of the tube clockwise quite a few times for anything to happen. The applicator is a small soft brush made up of soft white bristles so ideal for around the eye area. The concealer comes up through the middle of the brush and I did find that once the liquid does start to come up don't be too twist happy as it can come out rather quickly.
I generally use the concealer around my eyes to give that bright eyed look and of course to get rid of any dark circles that may have appeared! I find that once I twist the base and the concealer comes up that there is just too much for me to directly apply the concealer via the brush applicator to my skin so I do have to use my finger tips to apply the concealer and to blend as otherwise there is just too much waste. However, after a couple of times of applying it there is just enough left on the brush for me to use the applicator to apply the concealer and there not to be waste or excess.
I find that the concealer does blend in ever so easily and is incredibly light to the touch and doesn't require too much blending which is great as not only does it save time but it also gives a lovely appearance. I tend to cover my concealer with a quick dusting of powder to seal it in and this doesn't go cakey or crease which again is ideal as there is nothing worse than trying to smooth out your concealer once already applied and worn.
I find that the concealer does last for quite a few hours before needing to be touched up which is fine with me as its packaging is so travel friendly I can quickly touch up within a matter of seconds but it is nice to have a concealer which lasts more than an hour or so! It is also easy to remove which again is another plus. I have found some concealers can be quite drying to the skin and as I can suffer with dry skin I can't have a product that dries it out even more but this manages to keep my skin in a decent condition.
== Overall ==
A decent concealer which I find lightweight and easy to wear. It blends evenly and wears well. Although it doesn't hide everything or does a good job of disguising it as well as making the skin look fresher and brighter which at the end of the day is what this concealer is supposed to do. For me, I really do like it. My initial concerns about a liquid concealer were dashed as I found this easy to apply and it doesn't crease. Definitely a recommendation is wanting a new concealer and definitely worth a try. 4 stars, knocking 1 star off simply because you can get a little excess.

I love make-up and actually wear it on a daily basis including weekend. I am actually lucky that I have quite good smooth skin however I have few imperfections, especially really dark circles under my eyes and not matter what miracle eye cream I use, and nothing seems to get rid of them. Thanks to the dark circles under my eyes, I look like I haven't slept for week and so concealer has become a part of my make-up bag and I always make sure that have some available. I have previously used concealer by Maybeline from the minerals range but not been able to find it in the shops recently and so decided to try the Dream Lumi Touch concealer.
A concealer is a type of makeup used to mask dark circles and other small blemishes visible on the skin. The product is presented in 5inch long slim pen looking like tube made out of plastic. After some on-line research i found out, that ther is 9g of product in the tube (i failed to find this info on the actual product). In my opinion it is not looking particularly special, I have seen concealers from other make-up brand in similar packaging. This one of course states name of the product on it in golden writing. The tube doesn't appear transparent however, after you have used the product for few days you may notice that actually you can see how much product you will have left.
To use the concealer, you need to remove transparent plastic lid which is placed over the small brush. Concealer is then dispensed by turning the bottom of the concealer to the right and watch the concealer appear from the brush. Now, when you first use this product, you might need to turn it few times before concealer appears, after that it is just once or twice depending or how much you wish to use. This product lasts me a month this is with using it every day and due to its size, it is handy for even the smallest make-up bag or on the go.
I use my concealer for the dark circles under my eyes. I also found that this concealer does a good job of hiding blemishes by blending the other skin imperfection into the surrounding skin tone. I often use it around my nose as well as in between my eyebrow where I have a small scar which is not very visible but I know it's there and like to cover it. I normally make couple of turns to dispense the concealer and apply initially under my eyes and use my finger to blend it into my skin. Concealer the right consistency for my, not too thick or thin and I find it very easy to apply just by using my finger. Concealer blends in nicely with my skin tone and I also find that I get no "creases" under my eyes which I have previously experienced using different concealers. Product delivers very well, i am happy with it as I am left with good even coverage and bright looking eyes.
Product is available in three different shades. You get to choose from Ivory, Nude or Sand. I already use Dream Creamy make-up by Maybeline in Sand shade and so wanted to buy concealer in the same colour however it was not available on the day of my purchase and after conducting a quick test using tester available, I decide Nude shade should do for me.
I have purchased it from Boots, at the time of my purchase, they had 2 for £10 offer on however the full price of the product is £6.99 in Boots but price may vary in different shops.
I am happy to recommend this product especially if you want to mask dark circles.
I'm a huge Maybelline fan and it's by far my favourite make-up brand as far as foundation and concealer goes. Boots and Superdrug often have 3 for 2 deals on make-up and I usually stock up on foundation during these times opting for this concealer as my free product. At full price this costs £6.99 and is available in three shades: ivory, nude and sand (or, in other words, light, medium and dark). I usually go for the ivory shade in Maybelline foundation products so I had no difficultly in selecting the correct shade for my skin. However I do think people with darker skin tones would have a little more trouble as the darkest shade does appear quite a lot darker than the medium shade, there isn't much 'inbetween'.
The concealer is gel infused and is supposed to diffuse light to illuminate the skin making it appear brighter whilst hiding blemishes. The product comes in a long beige thin tube with the product name written in white and gold and has quite an elegant look to it. The top of the tube has a plastic beige lid whilst the bottom has a has a darker beige plastic bit which you twist in order to release the concealer. Taking the lid off reveals a small cluster of white, soft bristles which are used to blend in the concealer.
Applying the concealer is relevantly easy although it does take a few uses to get used to how far you need to twist the bottom to release the right amount of concealer. If you twist too far you end up with too much product making blending extremely difficult.
I personally find this concealer to be the best I've ever tried. It gives really good coverage and hides blemishes really easily and quickly. It's very lightweight and doesn't feel or look caked on the slightest. The combination of the bristles and liquid concealer make blending a lot easier than with concealer sticks and, because only a small amount of needed, this stuff lasts for ages! The bristles don't dry up or get clogged with concealer either. In fact, I've been using my current one for about four months now and the only difference between the bristles now and when it was new is that the concealer has stained them so they're no longer white. In terms of performance they work just as well as they did the first time I used the product. The products also stays put for a very long time. I can put a bit of this on in the morning and, even without a primer, it's still giving me pretty much as much coverage at night when I go to take it off as it was when I first applied it. But it still comes off really easily with the aid of make-up remover.
The only real downside to this product is that it doesn't seem to do much in the way of illuminating skin. I guess you could argue this is a massive flaw considering this is the main thing the product boasts but given how good it hides imperfections (which is the main reason most of use concealer anyway) I find it easy to overlook this fact.
It has been a while since I tried any new beauty products, hence my lack of reviews this month but as I am due to go on holiday next month I decided to have a bit of a splurge and get some essentials and try a few new products while I was at it. One of the items I decided to try was the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighter. I had never tried a highlighter before but I was interested in trying one out.
I figured I would go to my 'go to' brand that I use for all my foundation needs - Maybelline - and saw their Dream Lumi Tough Highlighter. At the time there was an offer on Maybelline products that was "Buy 1, get 1 Half Price" so I plumped for this one along with my foundation. At full price the highlighter would set you back £6.99 for Boots
The highlighter comes in 3 shades: - Ivory, Nude and Sand. I picked the Nude as this was roughly the same shade as my foundation. The Lumi Touch is presented as a slim tube with a pull off lid and a twisting cap at the base. The packaging is a creamy gold colour and Lumi Touch Highlighter is written in a silver shade along the tube. The cap pulls off to reveal an applicator that is a medium brush.
To apply you simply twist the base and the tube pushes out the highlighter into the brush for you to spot onto your skin. The highlighter is a foundation consistency and not too thick. To apply Maybelline says to dab the highlighter on to the "shadowy areas under eyes, above brow, cheekbones, or sides of the nose" to highlight and conceal.
Maybelline claim that the "gel-infused formula diffuses light to illuminate as it conceals" and that the highlighter will make skin "look instantly brighter and more radiant" without feeling heavy.
When you apply the concealer it does apply very well. The brush applicator allows you more control, and applies just the right amount. The twisting cap means you never have too much or not enough and is easy to judge. The highlighter has a silky texture to it and sweeps over the skin beautifully. I found for best results to dab on the highlighter and then blend in with my fingers. As soon as it is applied and blended in you can see the results. My under-eye circles were covered completely and easily and my eye area appeared brighter! I also found the highlighter effective in applying to the cheekbones gave a lovely illuminating effect, and I have since used it elsewhere on my face and it really does work! The effect is great dewy looking radiant skin, great coverage and brighter eyes. As Maybelline promises the Lumi Touch really does "diffuses light to illuminate as it conceals.
I am really pleased with this product from Maybelline and am sure it will now become one of my staple products! For £6.99 you really can't go wrong!
