Before purchasing this Maybelline BB cream I had previously used the 17 BB cream, I was fairly impressed with that cream so I was eager to try out more BB creams as they seemed to be doing a great job. I decided to purchase this particular one due to the fact that I read decent reviews about it and Maybelline seems to have decent products.
I purchased this from Boots when there was a '3 for 2' offer on, I can not remember the exact price for this but I know that it was not too overpriced.
As with many BB creams there are a very limited amount of colours available. There were only 2 for this particular one in Boots and I purchased the darker one of the two. The colour of the BB cream was fairly suited to my skin and seemed to blend in well, which was pretty good considering there were not many shades to choose from.
The cream itself, when applied to the face, has a very smooth application. It seems to cover the smaller blemishes on my skin and blends in nicely to give an even skin tone. This product would be especially good for those who do need too much coverage and just need a quick fix.
The consistency of the BB cream is quite runny and thin which made it quite difficult when applying it to your skin because it would be hard getting the right amount of cream out of the bottle.
I love trying new BB/CC creams especially because they are usually quite inexpensive and can often be impressive. I was recommended this particular one by my sister who liked it and thought it would work well for me. I purchased this whilst on holiday in America, however this shouldn''t really make any difference to the product. I also like Maybelline products and was excited to try. I was excited to try it as I was looking for slight coverage but with a lightweight feel for those days where you don''t want to put a whole face of make up on. I first tried it whilst in America and for me it certainly wasn''t working, the colour was pretty dark and I found that this was building up in the drier areas of my face - which looked awful! I thought it could possibly have been due to the climate over there and so I held on to it, in order to try it when I arrived back home to England. I was really hoping that it would work nicely but it just didn''t seem to adapt to my skin, and I wouldn''t say my skin was that awkward, I sometimes have drier areas. Unfortunately this product wasn''t for me but as we know, all skin types are different and I''m sure this could be perfect for some people - like my sister :)! Overall I would perhaps recommend this product to those who don''t mind spending a little bit to see if this product was for them, but if you have skin that can sometimes be on the dry side, I would go for something else. :) Also just to add: I hardly used this cream at all and the bottle got in such a mess, around where the lid is and where the bottle cap screws on so just be careful not to leave this alone in a handbag etc.
I tried the Maybelline BB Cream when I got a number of free sachets from magazines and the like. I got loads of sachets and they ended up lasting about two weeks! The full name of the product is Dream Pure BB Cream. It usually costs around GBP6.99 from stores including Boots and Superdrug, which I think is a really good price. It comes in two shades, Light and Medium. I got samples in Light. I am super pale and even the lightest shade of any foundation is normally too dark for me, but although I had to be careful with this as applying too much did look a bit dark, I was able to wear it so long as I put it on sparingly. This also had the positive effect of making it last longer, as I only used a teensy amount each time. The product is a light, fairly runny, foundation-like BB Cream with light but decent coverage. I did have to use moisturiser underneath, because although I have oily skin, this product alone wasn''t enough and I needed a bit more of a substantial base. The BB Cream made my skin look smoother, brighter and more even-toned. I normally have pretty good skin anyway, so I was fine with the lighter coverage, and I didn''t look too ?made-up''. The cream contains SPF 15 too, which is handy as it means I didn''t need to bother with a separate sun cream on a normal day (though on a warm day if I was outside a lot then SPF 15 wouldn''t cut it). Using this product, I found I had to use much less face powder and reapply it much less often, as it helped to keep my shine under control. Overall, this is a good BB cream. I don''t know if I would buy it again as there are other products that better match my skin colour, but if this isn''t an issue for you, definitely give this one a try.
I really like maybelline products and I saw this the other day and thought i would give it ago, I recently came back of holiday and had developed a nice bit of colour on my face so I didn't want to be using a heavy foundation but I still needed a bit of coverage. I saw the bb creme and tested it in store, I didn't think it would do much but I bought it anyway just to try it properly at home, well I put the product on blending in with my fingertips as the product suggests. I noticed that I still had my fresh suntan glow but I had the coverage that I desperately needed the product was lovely, nobody could tell I had anything on my face other then a bit of bronzed, the creme didn't feel heavy on my face and it didn't look like I was caked in foundation, only downside is there doesn't seem to much for the cost , but I suppose for the nice light coverage it is worth it.
I never really rated foundation. I grew up seeing the girls at school looking all orange and patchy and I really didn't want to have that look. So I didn't wear foundation for a long time, but never felt like I was confident with my looks. Then I was introduced to Maybelline BB foundation and my entire approach on foundation was changed. All you need to do is put a little bit on each section of the face and rub it in like cream. Once its all rubbed in the finish is perfect, no patches and it definitely doesn't leave you looking orange. The foundation comes in a variety of colours, so matches most, if not all skin types and leaves you look magazine perfect. Definitely worth a buy for woman who are still struggling to find the right foundation for them. I swear by this product and will continue to use it in my daily routine.
I have heard about bb cream from many places such as my sister and different youtube channels. One of the most popular bb creams used is "dream fresh" by maybelline.
BB cream is an innovative new product which contains a mixture of moisturiser, foundation, concealer and SPF. I first heard about it from my sister who said it was such an amazing product and did a great job, but at first I thought it was just a tinted moisturiser with a fancy name. However tinted moisturisers do not contain concealer, this means that bb cream contains more.
My personal experience & opinion
I thought I would try it out just to see what was so special, so I bought the maybelline one as it seemed most popular. I have to admit it was better that I thought it gives a bit of light coverage and does makes my skin glow slightly. Some people have told me that you need to set bb cream with a powder however I am unsure about that. I guess bb cream is great for everyday use when you are only looking for light coverage however if you are looking for more coverage then I would suggest using a foundation instead.
The only downside that I've faced with this product is that it is very runny and comes out of the tube itself, this wastes the bb cream as it is not used. Perhaps better packaging could be put in place.
Overall I think this product is good for everyday use however I would use a different product for more coverage.
I like cream foundation as I can just put a small amount on my finger tips and then smooth over my face. I like to buy new products and try out innovative things on the beauty market. This was for sale in Boots and although it has been out for a while it is a relatively new product to me.
==Price and availability==
This is a cheap, cheap, cheap product at £4.49 however it is on offer for half price at the minute. It could be time to stock up if you like it but I personally do not find it that brilliant.
The product comes in a 30ml tube and it comes in a variety of shades. It seems like Maybelline are trying to create a BB cream that is mixed with a foundation. The colour has a slight shimmer to it in the tube but on the skin it just all blends into one. The colour I have is Golden Beige. This is not orange or anything and the colour is actually quite pleasant. The colour is slightly lighter than the colour of the actual cream which is something worth noting but it is better than being too dark.
I find this to be ok but I suffer from uneven skin tone and this just does not give me the matt platform I am looking for. It goes on nicely, its smooth and it is easy to blend in and apply however it seems to be absorbed very quickly. I am not overly impressed with this and I have to use it in conjunction to my powder. It is not a good replacement for a BB cream either as it does not do the whole 'light reflecting' thing that you would expect. I think the advantages of this are that it is cheap and if you are looking for a quick replacement that is of a decent shade then you will find that this is an excellent product for a short term fix. I was just expecting a little bit more however.
I think the packaging, the ease of application and the colour are big plus points but it is let down in terms of longevity. The product does not last long on my skin and it seems to be soaking quickly into my skin. I find that I apply this with my finger tips and rub it over my skin, blending into my skin and then I need to apply powder on the top. This means that it takes longer to get ready and not really what I expected. But... what can you expect for £2.
My mother bought this for herself,
once I decided to try a bit.
I have quite patchy skin some parts oily some parts dry.
This bb cream gave my skin quite a filmy type feeling.
Wasn't very good coverage so had to but foundation on top.
Also didn't last very well in the heat sweated right off so had to be reapplied.
I usually enjoy Maybelline's products, but sadly this one was abit of a disappointment.
Also being black the colour range was lacking a teeny bit.
Unlike dream matte mousse and the lengthening mascara, this BB cream is
For one skin type in particular if you have oily skin this product is not for you.
Also if you're looking for one with good coverage again not for you.
I'm not saying it won't work for everyone in my opinion however
It didn't work for me.
I recommend sleek for a more full coverage look and a better range of colours.
Lucky this is another drug store brand and is easily accessible at places like superdrug.
I'm not much of a foundation wearer. I've never had problems with my skin or spots and whenever I wear it I find it a bit too heavy and a bit of a nuisance.
When bb cream first appeared on the scene, I thought it was a load of rubbish. Just another fad that claims to work miracles and instead just overcharges you for some cream. But then I was told that actually it's quite good. Maybe not a miracle cream like they claim, but worth a go. Like I say, I don't really suffer with my skin, but it's certainly not flawless, so on a night out or special occasion I like to make an effort and make my face look nice. Usually this just involves a bit of blusher and bronzer, but one day I decided I would try this bb cream. In boots I went for the Maybelline brand because it's trusted and it was only £7.99 which I think is reasonable for something that claims to be so good. I went for the medium tone because I'm not pale, but I'm not really dark.
I use it after moisturiser and before bronzer and blusher. I don't use any other products on my face. The cream is a similar colour to foundation, but a bit more runny. It spreads easily all over the face and blends in really well. You don't get tide marks on your neck, because it blends really well. It does occasionally rub off if I rub my face soon after and leaves a mark on clothes, but it washes off easily if this happens.
This bb cream claims to be 8 in 1 and here are its 8 claims
1. Creates a natural glow
2. Compliments skin tone
3. SPF30 UV Protection
4. Hydrates all day
5. Blurs imperfections
6. Oil-free, non-greasy
7. Looks visibly smooth.
8. Feels fresh
And I can honestly say it meets all of those claims for me! I was impressed with how much better my skin looked. It's like a lightweight foundation - it doesn't really look like you're covered in make-up, it makes it look natural. Since it only comes in 3 colour options, you have less choice than foundation, but I don't think it's as crucial to have a perfect match because it blends into your skin. It also hides my bags quite well.
The SPF is a great bonus for me. I love to be tanned, but everyday protection is really good at keeping your skin looking young and keeping it healthy.
The tube lasted me about 3 months of wearing it maybe 3 or 4 times a week and I went out and bought another. And I will keep buying it I think because it evens out my skin tone and generally just makes my face look nicer.
5/5 because it does meet its 8 claims in my opinion!
I bought the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream because I wanted to see if BB creams were actually any good. In the shop (Superdrug) I decided to go for this one as it had the best texture and colour out of all the BB creams in the shop at the time. It cost £7.99 and was on 3 for 2. It is available in chemists like Boots and Superdrug and any supermarkets which sell Maybelline makeup.
There are 4 shades available, light, medium, dark and universal glow. I personally found the universal glow to be a bit orange when I was testing it in the shop. There aren't lots of shades available like with foundations because while has some colour, it isn't actually a foundation. The packaging is a white tube which fades into another colour at the top which represents the shade of BB cream inside. It has white and pink writing and comes in a plastic, squeezable tube with a lid on the bottom.
The bottle states that it's an 8 in 1 product, the 8 features are;
Creates a natural glow
Compliments skin tone
SPF30 UV Protection
Hydrates all day
Looks visibly smooth.
So, does it actually do what it says it does? Well, it definitely creates a natural glow. It adds a hint of colour but also lets your skintone show through, the shades aren't dull and it isn't a matte product. As for 'compliments skin tone' I think this is true, even though there are only 4 shades, they blend very well and aren't unnatural looking when you apply them. I am not sure how effective the added SPF protection actually is as you don't apply a thick layer of this BB cream. It definitely does hydrate all day, it's very moisturizing but not heavy at all, it adds softness to the face and smooths the skin. It blurs imperfections by adding a little bit of colour and coverage BUT if you're looking for heavy coverage this probably isn't the right product for you. If you have problem areas then I'd still recommend this product along with some concealer because this does give lovely effects. It evens the skin tone and 'blurs imperfections' is very accurate. It lightly covers any 'imperfections' and blends that area with the rest of the face. It isn't an oily or thick and heavy texture, it is a light and refreshing consistency. When you apply it, it seems to dissapear but leaves you with more even, smoothed out looking skin. While it is very moisturising and hydrating, it doesn't give a greasy, shiny or oily look to your face at all. It isn't matte, just a very natural look. It doesn't feel horrible on your face, it isn't heavy or irritating at all which is a huge plus point.
To apply this, you simply squeeze out a little bit and apply it to your face as if you're applying a face cream. It glides onto the skin very easily and has a nice, light texture. The texture is more like a moisturizer and not like a foundation although it is coloured. It blends into the skin very easily and it's not something that you have to be very careful about applying evenly like with foundation as it blends to your skin tone so well. This doesn't go flakey or build up in certain areas like a lot of foundations can.
I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a natural look, or anyone who wants something that will give them a bit of coverage and even the skin tone but without giving a made-up look. It has the benefit of blurring blemishes and giving a more even tone to the face but without the annoying problems that foundations can bring.
If you're going for a fresh-faced and natural look but still need a little coverage, Maybelline's innovative combination of skincare and make-up is a must have.
Dream Fresh claims to be an 8-in-1 BB Cream, providing UV protection and hydration whilst giving you visibly smooth, fresh feeling skin.
The bottle says it can be used with or without moisturizer. As my skin is quite dry, I always moisturize and use a hydrating primer before application. A lot of foundations I've used in the pass have made my skin look flaky and dry, but Dream Fresh hydrates your skin whilst providing coverage and a lovely glow - perfect! I've used foundations specifically designed for those with dry skin, and this cream created for normal skin has proved more effective than most of them.
The cream's consistency is light and runny as opposed to the thick, heavy feel of a foundation. My skin can still breathe with Dream Fresh and it adapts to match my tone very well. It feels as though I'm applying lotion to my skin and not a foundation! Because of Dream Fresh's moisturizing ingredients, your skin can look a little shiny after application - nothing a light dab of powder won't fix, though. The cream is oil free and not greasy in the slightest.
The only downside to this cream is that, when my skin's irritated and redder than usual, it doesn't provide enough coverage to make my skin tone look even and flawless. But hey, it's a BB Cream and not a foundation! So, if you're looking for complete coverage or if your skin isn't already quite clear, this probably isn't the cream for you - look for something a little heavier. If you have clear(ish) skin with minor blemishes, I'd definitely recommend you try this cream out!
30ml bottles of Dream Fresh sell for £6-7. I've had mine for two months and the bottle is still pretty full as you only need to apply a thin layer. These last really well and I'll definitely be picking up a second one when this runs out!
Whilst it's no good for full-on coverage, this BB Cream is ideal for those days that you want to give your skin a break and still be glowing and radiant. Go and buy it!
Since I first discovered make up 'properly', probably at the age of 16, I have become a little bit hooked on trying new products and creams etc. I always used to wear the traditional liquid foundation but found that sometimes it made my face shiny, couldn't always find the exact colour match and either looked abit orange or too pale.
My hair dresser recommended this so I thought I would try it.
== Packaging ==
It is a 30ml plastic tube with a white screw top lid at the bottom. It has the Maybelline New York branding on it in white letters, and Dream Fresh in white and then BB in bold hot pink letters. In the same pink shade it is written '8-in-1 BB Cream, Instant Fresh-Gaced Glow and SPF 30. It also has the shade colour you chose, mine is Light.
On the back of the tube it lists the benefits of the cream 'Instant Fresh Faced Flow without looking all made up. Our gel based forumula enhances skin with 8 benefits in 1. - Creates a natural glow - Compliments skin tone - SPF30 UV Protection - Hydrates all day - Blurs imperfections - Oil-free, non-greasy -Looks visibly smooth -Feels fresh.
== How to use ==
The directions on the tube are to apply a thin layer on to your skin and it is suitable for use with or without a moisturiser.
== My thoughts ==
I wasn't expecting too much from this product I didn't see 'How' a thin looking liquid could make my skin look more even as much as a traditional foundation. But I was very wrong! This is a great product, I squeezed a small amount onto the back of my hand before applying to my face with my finger tips. It blended in well, and I found I only needed a little bit as it seems to go a long way.
My skin looked fresh, and natural looking. I looked more radiant, without looking like I was wearing alot of make up. I sometimes mix it in with my usual moisturiser to make it even lighter. This doesn't replace using concealer on blemishes though.
== Price and Availability ==
I bought mine from Boots and it was approximately £7. At the moment it is £7.99 from Boots and they are doing a promotion which is buy 1 get 1 half price on selected Maybelline Cosmetics.
== Overall Summary ==
This has replaced my usual foundation, I use this every day and love it. However please note it doesn't have the same coverage as a traditional foundation in my opinion, it just makes me look less 'caked on' and more natural. I still use concealer on blemishes and blusher. But I would recommend this product.
Thanks for reading.
This BB cream is from Maybelline. It's described as a "blemish balm" and therefore not a "foundation". The formula is gel based as opposed to oil based which for some people will be a real positive depending on their face type, if you have an oily complexion this product could be a good one to try. The product also has SPF30 within it which is really good for the skin, most people forget that even when it's not sunny outside the rays can still have harmful affects on your skin and so the added SPF is a real bonus.
I paid £9.99 for my tubes of my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream but at the moment you can purchase it from Superdrug for £7.99 and earn 7 points if you have a beauty card with them!
This product comes in three shades: light, medium and dark. I accidentally bought the medium shade with my first purchase and being a rather pale person it was just that slight bit too dark however when purchasing the "light" shade I found that it matched perfectly. I would recommend only buying the medium shade if you have a good base of colour to your face, for me, even with a slight sunning I still wasn't dark enough for the medium shade, if you are a pale girl, definitely stick to the "light" shade.
The packaging is rather basic but it functions well as it allows you to squeeze the product out to the desired amount with ease. There is also a foil covering over the lid of the product which I feel is a simple but good solution to the problem you sometimes find with buying foundation/creams where the lid becomes covered in the product before you've even used it.
I would describe the consistency as quite thick which I like as I struggle to work with foundations and creams that are too runny. Because of the thickness of the product you don't need a lot to provide coverage for the face.
As somebody who wears makeup everyday I must admit this cream has converted me from regular foundation especially in the warmer months when my skin is generally in a better state. With hardly any product the cream appears to give me a very good coverage and makes blemishes disappear. For those who do look for a really full coverage the plus side is that this product is "buildable" and you could easily achieve the desired look.
For anybody sick of wearing full foundation I would recommend trying this product as you feel a lot fresher and still have the coverage to feel confident.
I won't lie, the staying power is no where near as good as a foundation but then I suppose as a BB cream it couldn't reach that level, however I've worn this from 6:30am to 4:00pm at University and I haven't felt the need to top it up however if you like a full coverage I would probably suggest that you would need to touch it up after 6-7 hours.
This is a very good product at a decent price. The coverage is quite a surprise if you are used to only using foundation and I would recommend anybody to at least give it a try, you may find yourself converted!
I don't really use make-up much as I can't deal with the hassle, but I like something easy to use for nights out and weddings etc. I normally find foundation too thick and uncomfortable, and I hate having to layer it with power etc. This BB cream is ideal. It is like a tinted moisturiser so you don't even think you're wearing anything and it's so comfortable and gives that finished, blemish-free look that's desired. I have pale skin too, so some foundations can appear too dark, but this complements my skin nicely. I tried a few samples from different brands when BBs first came out, but this one came out above and beyond the others. it doesn't dry out or smudge or rub on clothes. it's easy to apply and easy to wash off.it is an absolute must for anyone who needs an easy but effective piece of kit!
As it's coming to the summer and we're all hoping for some warmer weather than the snow we've received over the last few months, I've been on the look out for a lighter foundation that won't look to 'caked on' or heavy in the heat. I don't suffer very badly from spots however I do tend to get very dry skin. I've had eczema since I was younger, and although it has calmed down a lot and I seem to have grown out of it, I do still have to look after my skin: moisturise regularly and try to pick products that are friendly to sensitive skin.
I've heard lots of good things about BB creams since they came around quite a while ago now, but hadn't got round to trying any up until this year. If you're wondering, BB stands for Beauty Balm. There are now a wide variety of brands to choose from, but being a fan of Maybelline's other beauty products I decided to give their Dream Fresh BB cream a go!
Maybelline's aim with this product is to give an instant fresh faced glow with it's 8 properties in one product:
-Creates a natural glow
-Compliments skin tone
-SPF30 UV protection
-Hydrates all day
-Oil free, non greasy
-Looks visibly smooth
Too good to be true maybe?
I think it acts as a tinted moisturiser but offers a little extra coverage. There are four different shades to pick from: light, medium, dark and universal glow. Having paler than pale skin, I opted for the light version which suited me perfectly giving me a healthier looking glow. If you suffer badly from spots I don't think this BB cream would cover them alone, you'd have to also apply some concealer to get the look you're after. Being a water based product, it should also be great for those with oily skin to use. Applying just a thin layer of the liquid (a little goes a long way) and patting it on with my fingers I found that it gave me a lovely radiant look that I was happy with. Skin protection properties such as the SPF30 are also what I look for in beauty products and this was a contributing factor in me deciding to buy this product.
Before applying, as with any other foundation I would use, I did my usual moisturising routine. With how dry my skin can get I didn't want to risk not doing it although the BB cream itself has moisturising properties. On the tube it does state that it can be used with or without moisturiser though. Doing this, I found it didn't cling to any dry patches on my skin but also didn't look oily or greasy (as promised).
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this BB cream to anyone that wanted to achieve a light coverage that leaves you looking healthy and glowing.
It retails for around £7.99 in places such as Boots and Superdrug, but I got mine on offer for £5, bargain! It's not perfect, but for the price you really can't go wrong. I would happily repurchase this when mine runs out.
