WHAT IS IT? A solid cream foundation that is applied from the compact with the included sponge. HOW IS IT APPLIED? The foundation is creamy and sticks to the sponge, you apply it in small strokes and blend with the soft sponge. WHAT I THINK I think this is a good budget foundation but does not provide very thorough coverage. It is pleasant to apply and lightweight to wear, it does not dry my skin but does not give me moisture either. It dries very quickly to a matte finish and I do not use powder over it. If my skin is dry it accentuates patches that need to be moisturised. This foundation is easy to blend and is one of the fastest and easiest to apply that I use. I never get any patches of uneven colour and the foundation does not crease into the lines and pores of my skin. It does not last for long and cannot be reapplied without washing it off. It does not cover blemishes or red patches of skin but provides an even finish that looks natural and healthy. I do not use it on any of my ladies because the finish is not professional enough, it also is not long lasting enough and there are better foundations that I would rather use for my paying clients. I use it on myself on a Sunday or if I am going nowhere special but would not wear it if I was going out and applying full make up. ANYTHING ELSE The Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation costs £12.99 and does not dry out so even if you do not use it every day it will still be fresh and creamy when you use it again. 3 Dooyoo Stars.
I've been buying this foundation for a couple of years now because I can't fault it. I used to buy so many different foundations but then I found this and it's so good! It's reasonably priced at about £12 but is often on offer or part of an offer at Boots so I usually buy it when it's on offer because I know I'll use it. It looks like a really small amount in the pot but it goes a long way, so using it every day, a pot usually lasts me 2-3 months. You also get the sponge so you don't have to buy them either, saving you money. The foundation itself is so nice! It literally melts onto the skin making it really smooth to apply, and as I said, a small amount goes a long way. I usually wipe the sponge across the foundation once and then dab it onto each cheek, my nose, chin and forehead and then spread it out. That small amount is usually enough to cover my face. It gives a medium coverage but feels very light and doesn't look at all cakey. The other thing I love it that you can use it as a concealer too by just getting a small amount on your finger and then dabbing it onto a blemish. This way it doesn't look a different colour like some concealers because it matched the rest of your face. Although some people may find this a little pricey, it is definitely worth it, and I haven't found one person yet who has bought it and disliked it.
I have been buying this product for roughly 2 years and absolutely love it. It is designed to be a foundation but I actually use it mainly as a concealer over my usual foundation - though I have also used it as a foundation on occasion. The foundation comes in a double sided, circular pot. It is roughly the size of your palm and really easy to use and travel with because of the size. One side of the disc twists open and has the foundation inside it, in a clear plastic dish. The other side has a black lid which flips open, inside the sponge used for application. The black and clear plastic colour scheme works very effectively, and also allows you to see the colour of the product before purchasing which I personally really like. There is some information on the box but this isn't overwhelming and doesn't spoil the appearance of it. As an overall effect I think the packaging is simple yet effective and also quite nice to look at. I have no problems using it so nothing to complain about there! The foundation itself is very light and creamy. It is set into the dish, it feels like a liquid foundation once on your finger and applied to your face but without the drip factor. You can either use the small sponge to apply or, as I do, a finger. The dish is quite shallow and there isn't a huge amount of product inside, I think if it was used as a foundation it might not last very long so I prefer to use it as a concealer. I use my fingertip and then apply under and above my eyes, on my nose and chin and any other blemishes I may have. It gives a really smooth look to your skin, covers blemishes amazingly well and has a really lovely colour to it (my shade is creamy ivory, though there are others). When I did use this as a foundation I found it looked very heavy and gave me a very made-up look which I didn't really like for everyday. I will occasionally indulge when going out for the evening but generally I only use this as cover up. I love the way it looks on my skin and it lasts for a really long time too - practically the whole day with little wear. I also find that the product lasts me 3/4 months which is pretty good for a concealer. Given the size of this pot as a small foundation pot, it actually means it is a rather large supply of concealer which I like because it means I don't have to re-stock that often. The times when I have tried other products or ran out I am completely distraught and found no other product that comes near to beating it's cover up skills. In terms of price this product is roughly £8 to buy new, though max factor often have deals which make it a little bit cheaper. For a product that I rely on so heavily and use everyday without fail I think this is definitely worth the money for me and something I will continue to buy again and again.
Firstly, I have really flawed and pale combination skin, however this foundation gives a fantastic coverage, leaving a silky smooth finish. The particular shade I use is called 'Creamy Ivory' and although it is the lightest shade, it does not leave me looking ghostly pale, and it blends perfectly with my skin tone. The product comes with a compartment at the back which contains a small sponge to apply the liquid foundation with, however I much prefer to use a foundation brush as it makes it last longer and also gives a more even coverage. I also think the compartment at the back would have been handy if it doubled as a mirror, but unfortunately it does not. The foundation is a perfect consistency and does not leave my face looking too cakey as I have found with other foundations. The packaging looks sophisticated and is made of strong transparent plastic, which means it does not easily break, and can handle being thrown around in your bag. You do not get a large amount of foundation in terms of what you pay for it (I buy it for £12.99 at Boots and it usually lasts me about three weeks) but because it's a fabulous foundation, I do not mind paying that much for it, especially as there are much more expensive brands out there which give the same quality and quantity. I usually wear this foundation from 7.00am and it lasts all day. However, I also use a matte powder over the top of it (Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder) because otherwise my face looks too shiny, particularly around the nose area. I absolutely love the texture of this foundation. It's really smooth and creamy, and I don't even have to apply a moisturiser beforehand. It leaves you with a dewy complexion, and even though I have a few spots as well as acne scarring, the foundation hides the flaws impressively, and gives me a real confidence boost.
Since using Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation I have not wanted to purchase any other foundation on the market. The most compelling reason for this is the application method of this product. Unlike the majority of foundations that come in a tube, which can prove messy, this foundation comes in a compact form with its own make-up sponge in the same set-up as a pressed powder and so ensures a mess free and accurate application. This is aided further by the fact the foundation uses the latest solid to liquid technology. All you have to do is sweep the make-up sponge over the surface of the foundation, which comes in a hard solid block, and apply the sponge to the face. On contact with the skin, the foundation becomes very creamy and smooth and can easily be manipulated all over the face for an even covering. I cannot abide using tubes of foundation where your hands become coated in make-up and you are left with tide-marks, particularly around the chin and neck area, where the runny, gloopy mixture has failed to blend. Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation does not have any of these problems. It is quite a luxurious product, and as I mentioned, creamy, and so initially gives the impression it is going to be quite heavy and give a real made-up look, however, on application, it is surprisingly light and natural looking. It does not look as though you have no make-up on as it does give a luminous, air-brushed look, which most people will realise can only be truly achieved by applying make-up but it is extremely light-weight - you can barely feel you have any make-up on - while at the same time being extremely effective at covering blemishes and dark circles under the eyes. I prefer to apply more of this foundation in these problem areas than use a separate concealer. The product is not shiny like many foundations and so can be worn without powder but I do prefer to set it with a light covering of powder to ensure it lasts all day. I chose the 'natural' colour shade. Again, unlike a number of other foundations claiming to be a natural shade, it is the perfect colour for my skin. It also comes in a number of other shades including ivory, bronze and blushing beige. The packaging is very expensive looking, coming in a plastic container which looks very much like glass with a separate compartment for the make-up sponge. The foundation retails at anything from £9.99 to £12.99 which is much more expensive than some foundations available but due to its effectiveness I am happy to pay this price. The container holds 11.5mg of product and while this is not much I find if you apply just a small amount each day - which is all you need to use - the foundation will last several months before running out.
This product was tried and tested by myself after being given a courtesy sample through the post direct from max factor, I had never received a product to test in this way before so it was a pleasant welcome surprise, so thank you max factor. As a busy single mum and full time career i don't have time to spend on a lengthy day to day make-up regime so products which save me time and which are of good quality and reliability are important to me and i consider them as essential items. I have a pale combination skin type and was sent this product in the shade named warm almond from this range. Max factor is a highly credited world wide cosmetics manufacturer and supplier with a reputation for delivering a well known loved and trusted, top quality high street brand. --THE PRODUCT-- My first impressions of this product was that it looked a little dark for my skin tone but the packaging was lovely classy and stylish, it was in a quite weighty thick clear plastic which gave the appearance of glass, it looked and felt appealing. This product is available in Bronze, Sand, Creamy ivory, Blushing beige and Golden, you get 11.5gm of actual product which is recommended for all skin types, it is quite pricey and ranges from retailer to retailer but is generally priced between £9.99 - £12.99 and is available in most high street stores, cosmetic chains and online sites at competitive prices. --HOW TO APPLY-- It is quick and easy to apply, you simply use the neat little sponge applicator to swipe the product in its dish then glide smoothly on to the face where ever is required, i have found that one layer is enough but you can put several layers on if you wish as it is not very thick at all, in fact it is so light you can not even feel you have any on. It has a slightly waxy appearance and a very very slight smell which is hardly noticeable. It has the latest solid to liquid formula technology which is designed to melt on contact with the skin, the texture is smooth, creamy and light, it feels luxurious and silky soft to touch on the skin and is a pleasure to apply. --MY THOUGHTS & FEELINGS-- I have to say its a godsend of a product, i loved it so much i decided to go buy some despite the price tag which i thought was a bit steep at £12 for 11.5g worth of product, however i thought the excellent quality was worth paying a little more for and i was impressed with this product, it had succeeded in winning my heart. I love the feel of the product as its so light and silky smooth, a very luxurious 'treating yourself' kind of feeling which lasts all day long with no need for touch up's. It is great for full coverage and you don't need to use a great amount of product which is also good considering you don't really get much, the packaging is quite deceiving in that the thick almost magnified transparent plastic looks like it contains more product than it actually does, this covered the slight red and dry areas of my face easily with minimal blending. I found it covers imperfections perfectly, i have freckles across my cheeks and this covered them effortlessly making my skin look even, flawless and luminous, i wear under eye consealer underneath this product and it blends in effortlessly and easily giving that elusive and amazing airbrushed finish. This is an excellent all round product which combines as a base, a foundation, a consealer and a powder, which in my book is a fantastic feature of this product, for evening wear i often put a thin layer of powder on top to set the look but i would not say you need to do this at all, you could easily just wear this with nothing else and it still looks perfect without a shine, for me this is just preference and possibly habit! It definitely has the miracle touch and the extra factor for a beautiful professional airbrushed flawless look which makes you glow and certainly does not look or feel 'caked on' and nor does it sit in lines or wrinkles or flake around the dry areas and is by no means orange and does not dry out the skin. I have received many compliments whilst wearing this product which gives me the confidence that it is doing what it is meant to do and is truly a miracle. --HINTS & TIPS-- The soft sponge applicator is great for folding and using at the edges for application as a consealer and for those areas such as under and in the corners of the eyes. If your face is cold when applying this product it can make it fiddly to apply evenly without patches as it relies on being able to melt on contact with the skin. I would recommend instead of swiping the product with the sponge just dab it, you have more control over how much product you are applying to each area and can always layer it if is not enough as it is light enough to do this and because you don't get a lot of product it is best to minimise any waste. --PRO'S-- * Multi use (base, consealer, foundation, powder) * Covers imperfections * Feels wonderfully light & silky smooth (feel make-up free) * Attractive stylish packaging * Easy to use & apply ( comes with applicator) * Suitable for all skin types * Perfect flawless professional results * Handbag sized --CON'S-- * Not much product * Expensive * No mirror * Difficult to apply if cold --WOULD I RECOMMEND?-- WHY?/WHY NOT? I definitely would recommend this as an excellent foundation and powder in one product because it is easy and fast to apply which saves time in a hectic and busy lifestyle, it gives outstanding professional results which people do notice, it does not dry out your skin and is a suitable top quality foundation for everyday use although i do consider this an expensive product i think the price reflects its quality and i am prepared to pay extra than i normally would for quality of this standard, the pro's outweigh the cons by far and i love it. This product is my new best friend and one which i would not be without, it comes highly recommended and is so far the best combination foundation i have come across and a must addition to my make-up collection which complements and works fantastically with my other products. I have rated this product a 5 out of 5 Thank you for reading. (This review may also appear on ciao under mojo-mojo)
I must admit that I do not tend to wear a lot of foundation and mainly stick to powder with a touch of concealer during the day. However, when I dress up for an night out or for a day 'do' such as a wedding I want a foundation that will blend naturally with my natural skin and leave it looking flawless and radiant. I have over the past used a number of liquid foundations and have generally found them to be quite heavy looking, a look you can get away with in your teens but not in your twenties. So when I saw this Miracle Touch foundation in a round compact with a solid/ liquid formula I was keen to give it a try. This foundation comes packaged in a stylish looking round pot which has a clear glass lid to show the colour of the foundation and a black base. This foundation comes in a variety of light and tan skin shades the options of which are as follows: Warm Almond, Ivory, Blushing Beige, Natural, and Golden. Being someone with quite fair skin in the winter and tan in the summer I chose the blushing beige colour. A pot of this foundation will set you back in the region of £11 - £13 and can be bought from any cosmetics department; it is currently in Boots for £12.99 but it can be purchased online more cheaply. The pot can be opened by simply screwing open the glass lid and upon opening you will find that you have a pot of foundation with a circular sponge applicator. The consistency of this foundation is medium and leaves a matt finish to the skin which is completely odourless in my opinion. The foundation is quite oily to apply and application is not easy using the sponge applicator as you tend to find that it goes on as a thick blotch which then requires spreading out over the face. As many adverts show, Max Factor are, so they say, the masters of professional makeup products and as far as this foundation goes Max Factor promise that this foundation removes the need for the trio combination of concelaer, foundation and powder. They also claim that this foundation leaves a smooth complexion that glows with radiance. To test this out I simply moisturised my face and then applied the foundation over to see how good it really was. It is worth noting as earlier that the application of this foundation is not the easiest with the sponge applicator and also that this foam applicator gradually clogs with foundation over time to become a brown mess which leaves product all over your fingers. However a good rinse should eliminate this problem. On moisturised skin the foundation takes on quite a heavy coverage on the skin which does cover up all your blemishes and freckles however this finish does tend to leave quite a shiny finish on the skin after only 30 minutes and therefore I have found that a powder is necessary. I have also had problems with the colour of this foundation; the blushing beige being slightly too dark for my skin shade whilst the ivory being too light. It would therefore be handy to be able to mix the two together as you could with a liquid foundation. Despite my best efforts I could not get a natural looking finish with this foundation without it looking too heavy on my skin and therefore cannot agree that it left my skin radiant looking. It is possibly a better foundation to use for nights out when the harsh sun rays do not wreak havoc on your makeup finish. I would therefore score it 3 stars out of 5. Not the best foundation on the market but by no means the worst, I will continue on my quest to find the perfect product. Thanks for taking the time to read my review! This review is also posted on Ciao under the same user name.
As a complete make up addict I tend to invest a little more when it comes to foundation and often visit the wonderful store that is selfridges and treat myself in the designer section. But I became a student and my disposable income unfortunately had to switch from expensive make up to baked beans and beer. So I ventured into boots and made my way through the copious amounts of foundation to choose from all claiming to give me a 'celebrity airbrushed' face. So I came across this product, I had seen the adverts and even though I try not to get suckered into the airbushed bull I ended up purchasing this foundation. I loved it! Although it's not as cheap as the others it's definitely worth losing a vodka or two over. The coverage is perfect, I have quite oily skin and usually liquid is too watery for me the compact consistency of this foundation was great for my complexion. There is a great variety of colours to choose from, and the packaging is perfect to fit in a handbag on a night out and even comes with it's very own applicator - even though I wouldn't recommend using this for the duration as it gets quite dirty and a soaks up quite a lot of the foundation (I use a brush). Negatives - Unfortunately doesn't last that long, I think that has something to do with the sponge soaking it all up and you have to be quite generous to get the 'perfect' coverage it boasts.
Max Factor is a range that I am quickly falling in love with after trying several of their products and getting really great results. Their Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation was recommended to me by a friend and I took their advice to try it out. You can buy Max Factor make-up from most high street beauty stores such as Boots, and also through online retailers. It costs £12.99 for 11.5g of product, which is at the high end of most of the other foundations in their range. The Liquid Illusion Foundation is part of the Miracle Touch range and also includes a cream blusher. It comes in a choice of 6 different shades and I have the shade Creamy Ivory 40, which is the palest colour available in this product. Product description: "Max Factor's newest and most innovative foundation will revolutionise the way you apply your base. With a unique lightweight solid to liquid formula it removes the need for the traditional concealer, foundation and powder combination and instead creates the perfect base in just one easy application. The result is a flawless, fresh and incredibly smooth complexion that glows with radiance." This is completely different to any other foundation that I've used before. It comes in a heavy glass jar with a plastic section on the base that houses a circular make-up sponge. I sometimes apply this using just my fingertips, but I think that with using the sponge I get a much smoother, even finish that is worth the effort. The downside to using the sponge is that it can get clogged up with excess product and you do end up wasting some of the foundation as it will just soak into the sponge. Directions for use: "For the most professional results smooth Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation over the contours of your face with the specially designed sponge. Try using the edge of the sponge to conceal dark circles and blemishes." I have very pale skin with loads of freckles. I have trouble trying to find make-up products that look natural against my skin tone. I have a real dislike for tanning and always make sure to keep my skin protected so that I don't suffer sun damage. This foundation has a lovely pale Ivory shade that works well with my skin colour and doesn't mask my freckles. It looks natural and helps to balance out my complexion. The texture of this foundation is gorgeous, and very unusual. It looks like a solid crème foumulation inside the packaging, but as soon as you touch your fingers to it, the foundation almost melts and turns into a very light creamy liquid. This makes it very easy to apply as it has a smooth and fluid consistency. It spreads well over my skin and has a lovely finish that allows my skin to breathe and leaves it feeling soft and smoothed. I hardly need to blend this foundation at all as it just glides across my face and looks perfect with minimal effort required. This foundation wears well throughout the day and my face stays feeling fresh. The coverage helps to enhance my skin, and I do not get a horrible heavy clogged feeling as the cream / liquid effect is really gentle. As this does not contain any SPF I prefer to save it for use during the winter, and one jar of this foundation lasts me for approximately three months of wearing it on a nearly daily basis. This foundation is really well suited to giving a natural look. After I've applied it I like the fact that it evens out my skin tone and hides any imperfections, but it isn't overly obvious that I'm wearing foundation. The level of coverage is good if you don't like to overdo your make-up, but I have found that it does not work well enough to cover some blemishes. In particular I often get patches of redness around my nose, and I need to use a separate concealer product to cover this and to hide any spots when they crop up. This is a really nice foundation from Max Factor that allows my skin to look its best without completely covering it up. I am very happy with the pale tone of the Creamy Ivory shade, and it suits my skin nicely. I also love how soft this makes my face feel. The Miracle Touch feeling is a breath of fresh air compared to your usual cakey thick foundations, and I really like how it looks and feels on my skin. This is one that I would definitely recommend and is a repeat purchase for me.
It does what is says on the tin! this truly is a miracle foundation, i love it! when i was younger i had bad skin, and this has left me with some scaring on my cheeks, although it is not overly noticeable, the foundation completely covers them up, it is applied so easily and stays on for the majority of the day, i suually use this on nights out and special occasions, as im a student and cannot afford £12.99 very often for a foundation, im not saying its not worth it, but the foundation does run out very quickly, meaning your usual foundation probably lasts you much longer than this foundation. Apart from the price and the fact it runs out rather quickly i think the foundation is great, its gives me much more confidence when i wear it and also your skin looks great, even wehn you have been out for the night and you get home, your skin is still looking great, i love how soft the foundation is and that it comes in a variety of colours to suit your skin tone, the foundation also comes with a sponge which apply s the foundation perfectly, i would have this foundation all the time if i could!
This foundation is one of my absolute favourites. I bought it after trying my friends one, and just had to have one of my own! The actual product comes in a round pot with a little compartment underneath to hold a round make-up sponge. To open the product, you twist the pot to get to the lovely foundation :) You then pull down the compartment to get the sponge! Apply, then put back together. Pros: - Light and easy to apply. Barely looks like you're wearing foundation, but it gives you an amazingly flawless complexion. This is the best thing about it; its light but still gives a smooth complexion. I always get compliments about my skin when I wear it. - The foundation's packaging means that it is easy to apply when on-the-go, unlike your standard liquid foundation which you have to pour out etc. - The little sponge which comes with it fits nicely underneath, saving you from having to rummage in your makeup bag to find one. - The price is not bad for its quality, especially when compared to brands like Mac and Benefit Cons: - The foundation seems to run out quite quickly; especially when compared to other liquid foundations I've used.
I have been using this foundation for a good two weeks now and I'm not sure about it to be honest. My skin has never been dry and now it is awfully dry and quite sore making me unsure whether to use this product. This is liquid illusion, it looks solid but when you use the sponge which is in a compartment it spreads onto your skin almost like a creamy liquid foundation. This comes in a range of colours which is good because that way it is suitable for all skin colours. I'm not sure on the price of this one as my mum bought it, but I can imagine it being around the ten pound mark. The thing I like about this product is that for the first few hours my skin looks completely flawless and beautiful. However, after this my skin goes very blotchy and dry and it looks awful. So, I decided to try this one one of my friends and after a while she said exactly the same thing. We both had to use a face wipe and take it off! Max-Factor products are usually very good quality and I may be different to others because of my skin type but I don't wear face make up apart from Chanel blusher which is great but this made me look lke I could not put my make up on properly. You would have to try it to see if your skin reacts the same. On the plus side it does make you look good for a while :D Holly
Most girls understand the importance of their complexion, me being one of them. If my foundation doesn't look perfect when I leave the house in the morning I often find myself feeling extremely paranoid and it'll annoy me all day long. I have been on a mission for quite some time now to find that truly amazing foundation that gives me the coverage and overall look that I'm after, but unfortunately I'm still on a search for it. I dread to think of the amount of money I have spent trying to make my skin look perfect, every brand from the most premium end to the cheaper high street brands, but I'm yet to find something that suits my awkward dry skin bit oily T zone. In terms of aesthetics, this product couldn't have been made any better. The pot that is circularly shaped fits into a make up bag with ease due to it's convenient yet 'well worth the price' size. It looks classy with a black bottom and clear glass lid that allows you to see how much product is left. The name and claims of the product are located on the front. The design overall really stands our from others and creates a great first impression. Priced at around £10 in most stores like Boots and Superdrug, it's not particularly expensive compared to other foundations especially if you're getting advantage card points too! In boots you may also be able to find it on a 3 for 2 offer or something similar. As mentioned earlier, I have quite odd skin that makes it awkward for me to find a foundation that works well for me which probably explains why all the reviews on this product had been good, but I'm afraid I bring some negatives! I was impressed by thr colour range with natural tones and found one that suited my skin perfectly, 'natural'. I used the sponge which has sneakily been put in a separate compartment to the actual foundation and I found it a little difficult so decided to use my fingers instead so I had more control. I really liked the consistency of the product feeling really lightweight and creamy which seemed like exactly what I was looking for. It didn't seem too dry or too runny so I was really looking forward to seeing the overall result. As I was applying the foundation my skin felt soft which wad nice abs it seemed to be going on well giving me an even complexion and it gave a good strong coverage too. After applying to my whole face it looked really fantastic however when I stepped outside and looked in the mirror, to say I wad horrified isn't an understatement! The tone of the colour was great, but my skin looked dry almost scaly. I was really suprised as it looked great from a distance and my skin doesn't usually react to foundations in that way. Overall, although this foundation wasn't for me I have a feeling it may be my skin type, so I would recommend it to people who have an oily complexion and need a product to dry it our a little. I am giving this product 3 stars because although it didn't look great on me I can see how it would look good on others because of how it looked on me from a distance. I would be willing to give it another go perhaps during the summer months when my skin isn't so dry.
I'm sure all the girls will agree with me when I say finding the perfect foundation is almost impossible. I had it a few years ago when I discovered a murderously expensive Sisley foundation in Harrods, but they changed the formulation and it was no longer worth the £60 price tag for me personally. If a foundation is *ever* worth that kind of money! I then proceeded to squander hundreds of pounds on different foundation brands but never settled on one, in fact I have no less than twenty three assorted bottles, tubes and pots lying around in the bathroom which have barely been used. My search came to an end when I discovered Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation as, for me, it works wonders and the 'Natural' shade suits my skin tone perfectly. This foundation comes in a pot and is marketed as being a solid to liquid foundation, I can be more specific and tell you that it's actually a drier version of the cream foundations which were popular a couple of years ago. The clever design of the pot allows you to keep the application sponge separate from the block of foundation - it's under the base if (like me) this is your first pot and you can't find the sponge! The sponge is actually pretty good, I don't usually get on too well with porous make up sponges but for the first few applications it holds the foundation nicely and transfers it evenly to my skin. You'll know when it needs replacing as the foundation will start to cake around the edges, the sponge doesn't wash well even if you're very gentle so I tend to use it until it's just the right side of disgustingly-covered-in-foundation and then switch to one of my own sponges! The consistency of the foundation is excellent, it has a lightweight creamy texture which is very easy to apply and will blend in perfectly whether you're applying your make-up from scratch or touching up in the middle of the day. I rate this aspect highly actually as I sometimes have a very slightly oily T-zone which affects the longevity of my foundation, this problem comes and goes on a monthly basis (if ya get my drift) so it's nice to have a foundation which I can apply to a blotted forehead and blend it in neatly with the stuff which was applied hours ago. It doesn't need time to dry as such, but I think the foundation looks a bit shiny for a few minutes after application. I've got into the habit of applying my foundation and giving it time to settle before putting the rest of my make-up on, this allows the matte finish to come through so I can see that the other cosmetics I'm using will match the finished shade of foundation as it does lighten up slightly when it's 'dry'. I commit the dreadful sin of always choosing a foundation slightly darker than my skin tone to liven my palor up a little, this can have disasterous effects if I'm not careful (an Olay foundation that made me look like Christine Bleakley's darker sister) so I love the fact that Miracle Touch has such a natural shade which will give me a bit of extra colour but doesn't make me look like a twelve year old applying make-up for the first time. Another excellent thing about this foundation is the way it will blend well both on my jaw line and across my neck, I rarely get the dreaded tide mark when using Miracle Touch and if I do it's usually because I've rushed my make-up that morning. The sponge does tend to pick up a bit too much sometimes if the foundation has been allowed to get a bit warm so I'd recommend you store it out of sunlight and well away from the radiator. It doesn't make too much difference to the application as the foundation is so easy to blend that any excess can smoothly be spread across your skin to an area that needs it, I just feel like I'm wasting it a bit when too much comes out on the sponge so am always careful. Miracle Touch will cover minor blemishes without the need for a concealer, my skin is naturally quite good so the coverage of this foundation is fine for me. My sister, however, has broken veins underneath one eye and Miracle Touch won't quite cover those, although it did make the veins much less noticeable. £12 (approx) from Boots and other stores which sell Max Factor products.
Not something i would have gone out to purchase in an instant, i was browsing the make up bays in superdrug when this caught my eye for 2 reasons... 1, i used to wear this about 3 years ago 2, the name 'miracle touch'. I think it's pretty brave for a company to name something a 'miracle' when there are so many different women with different skin types out there. I for one was a bit hesistant as i suffer from dry flaky skin around the forehead and didn't know if this would really help. I picked up the lightest shade Creamy Ivory and at just under £12 for a small 11.5g, i thought it quite expensive. But typical me, i decided to give it a go. Results: It is good, I'm not calling it a miracle but honestly, it works a treat! I use my primer in the morning on my dry/blemished areas and work this in with a sponge using circular motions around my face. I then use a large face brush to apply some pressed powder on top. It smoothes on well, lasts for a good 8 hours and doesn't irritate my skin. The container is very sleek and easy to use with a flip lip at the bottom for the sponge and the glass top screws off to reveal the foundation. It appears quite solid but applies like a satin liquid so use with caution! As a girl that wears foundation every day this has lasted me a good 4-5 weeks minimum. A little goes a long way! I do not use the sponge provided, i use a smaller wedge type to reach into the creases around my nose/eyes (personal preference, really.) The sponge it comes with is great but i'm just a fan of smaller types. I tend not to use my foundation brush with it either as the formula is quite creamy, so you have to wash your foundation brush A LOT to clean out all the residue, too time consuming for a busy bee like myself. However... For me, having to use a primer and powder to make it look great means the foundation on it's own, isn't a 'miracle'. It's great for day time coverage as it's dewy and light but for night time/parties i would recommend something a bit thicker in consistency. Also, not a large variety of shades. Overall a good smoothing daytime type foundation for most normal/dry skin types and the packaging is very sleek, compact and lasts a long time. I would recommend this to a friend and i would use it again, i'd just like to see what else is out there in the market first before i picked up another pot.
