Gosh Foundation primer classic velvet touch is the by far best primer out there. My skin is quite dry so when putting this on it made my skin feel like heaven...seriously. It feels like silk when you put it onto your skin. Altough I have noticed when I first used this product, is to put it on then let it dry for a bit, then put your foundation on as it can become bitty. So just be careful with that. My foundation lasted all day so was very happy. I normally top up my foundation through out the day, but with Gosh Foundation primer i didn't have to. Very pleased. I would definitely go out and buy it again. It does last a long time, i use it every day and lasts over a month. I would highly recommend Gosh Foundation primer to any one. Its worth the money. Try it for yourself.
this is an essential for any womans make up bag. Before i found this product i never even considered trying a primer but know i use it everyday. i apply my moisturiser and let it set for about ten mins, then i apply this primer before i apply my foundation. it provides a barrier between my skincare products and my makeup and therefore protects my pores from being clogged up with makeup and causeing breakouts. it also gives a very smooth surface to my skin so that my foundation glides on perfectly without any steaks or patches developing through out the day. it also adds a youthfu dewy look to my foundation and minimises the appearance of any large pores, which i love because it give your skin an overall airbrushed look. I always get conplimented on my foundation, but i think the credit should really go to this fantastic little product.
To be honest i had never used foundation primer before, however what i have experienced with it so for has been excellent. You don't need a lot and you just apply it the same way you would moisturizer and it glides on so smoothly and leaves you skin feeling soft, i have also found that my pores look smaller. My foundation does cover more easily and does not create a patchy affect, also if you have sensitive skin this would be perfectly fine for you as it is perfume free. Lastly it can be used daily after moisturizer and before putting on your foundation and for the price i would recommend investing in one as they are a great base for your foundation. There are a lot of primers out there so i would test the water and get an inexpensive face primer before going and getting a high end one as it may not sit right with you however i can't see that happening, hope this helps
For those of you who don't know, a primer is meant to be applied after your moisturiser and before foundation. It is meant to create the perfect base for make-up, making your foundation appear smoother, make fine lines and pores appear less, and resulting in your make-up lasting longer. This costs £12.99 and is a Superdrug brand. It comes in a 30ml clear bottle with a pump. The primer is colourless gel and it doesn't smell of anything. I applied a few squirts, using my fingers to rub into my face like i do when applying my moisturiser. It absorbed into my skin really quickly and didn't feel greasy in anyway. In fact it felt really silky and made my skin feel really soft and look smoother. Foundation applied very smoothly over the top and afterwards i could see the difference. My make up looked more flawless and my pores seemed smaller and the lines were a lot less noticeable. It also made my make up more matte. I have an oily t zone and my forehead especially can look very shiny. This product eliminated the shine. And in the hot weather it didn't feel like my make up was melting as much and it did seem to last longer. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a long lasting primer that will reduce oilyness.
When putting on foundation, having the problem of it being "patchy" can really get to us ladies. Sometimes, we find that our make-up goes very uneven, which causes us to apply more foundation, and finally we caked in make-up and we have wasted about £1 worth. When skin is dry, foundation can get caught in drier areas whilst gliding in softer areas. This is how we get the "patchy" look. The easiest solution to this is to moisturise the skin to ensure the make-up applies evenly not only to save you time, but to improve the appearance of your face after applying foundation. The primer is basically a foundation base. It is a clear gel which is applied over the skin before applying foundation to improve the look of it after use. It comes in a pump which allows you to clearly see how much is left during use. It should last about a couple of months if used several times a week, so if it goes faster than this, you are using too much. If used once in a while when going out somewhere, it should last approximately a year if not more. By using a pea-size amount, you can wipe the gel across the entire face, rolling the fingers in circles. This makes the skin slightly oily until you wipe the foundation over the skin. Instantly, you should feel the foundation glide across the skin. It should appear even on the skin, although coverage should be reduced. Then, you can reapply another layer to improve the coverage and appear even. The gel should make the skin feel soft and plump. Sometimes it can become too greasy when too much has been applied, although I have not experienced any extra spots since using. The fact that this moisturises the skin allows you to use drier foundations such as dream matte mouse. As less foundation is used, it stops foundation from being caught in pores which reduces spots and blackheads from forming. It is priced at £12. However, it also saves money as less foundation is wasted on the skin. Also, it can help eye shadow be applied more effectively. Also, it is very long lasting as only a little bit needs to be applied and it is a fairly good sized bottle. Gosh products are always of a high quality so you know it will always do a good job. This is an essential part of my daily beauty routine and I couldn't live without it. I would recommend this to everyone, except those with oily skin types.
I bought this just to see whether it would work as well as Clarins pore minimizer under my make-up to even up my complexion and diminish the appearance of my pores.Only been using it for a week, but absolutely fine for the price - better than Clarins and on a par with Clinique's pore minimizer.I am 42 years old, have dry skin even on my T-zone. I use Garnier moisturizer first, wait for it to settle then smooth on the Gosh primer. I always apply my foundation with a brush to try to prevent my skin drying out, and that caked look you can get when you use a sponge. My make-up lasts at least 6 hours before I need a powder touch-up and is even and smooth. I have had compliments on my skin. Will buy it again when this this tube runs out.
I bought this primer 1 year ago in Superdrug because I really wanted to try a primer. I had never heard of primers until maybe 2 or 3 months before but when I heard of the benefits I was very tempted. When I was looking around the shop I spotted this, the packaging was see through and had a pump dispenser and black writing on it. I had never even heard of GOSH before but it looked very decent so I decided to buy it for £12.99. This is what GOSH claims to do: Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer is a perfect base for all makeup. It fills in fine lines and deep pores in the skin, creating a uniform, matt and silky soft surface, enabling the easy and smooth application of foundation. I don't have any wrinkles or fine lines so your probably thinking "ok then..why did you buy it you fool?!" BUT here is why, I had heard by many make up artist that a primer would be good for women with uneven skin tone, or women with facial scars that have sunken into the skin, this would help fill in them places to make my face look more flawless and even which was great because some of the foundations I have used draw attention to the acne scars on my face. I also heard that a primer would make my make up stay on a few hours longer and control all of the shine. ( something else I suffered with so ofcourse I was going to buy! ) This is very easy to use, simple push the pump and a tiny amount will come out, I didn't think a tiny amount would do my whole face but it did! The feel of the gel is very nice, very soft and velvety ( I guess it said it would be so why was I surprised! what am I like ). It was weird to get used to the feeling of the gel on my skin because I had never used anything like this before. I smoothed this onto my face and felt it, it was so soft and smooth, felt amazing. I found the application of my foundation to be much easier, it practically glided on! My skin looked more dewy and less shiny and it will keep my make up on extra longer! 3 or 4 hours which is an advantage if your make up tends to slide of and go greasy. I bet you just hate topping up your make up at lunch don't you? you won't have to if you invest in this! I don't use this any more because I now use a foundation containing a primer, but if I do go back to wearing a normal foundation I will go back to using this primer because of the advantages. A bottle of this last me 3 or 4 months, I wear foundation everyday. It's worth the money. If you are somebody with great skin and a flawless complexion, this will be no good for you, count your self lucky. I recommend this for people who's make up does fade quickly, and people with wrinkles, uneven skin, facial scars and fine lines. I have heard that if you suffer with contact dermatitis, allergies, milia or tiny cysts under the eyes DO NOT use this product. I don't know why but if I have heard this then it can't be good.
I had heard about primers from the glossy mags I read, but had never really thought it was an essential product. However, a few months ago I was looking at some pictures of myself and noticed my skin was a little...blah. A bit dull and lifeless. So I turned to google, and the answer it threw back at me was...primer! From my research, this GOSH primer was one of the best, so I decided to give it a whirl. It's priced at around £13, which is a bit pricey, but I was feeling a bit flush after christmas, plus there was a three for two promotion at Superdrugs, so I decided to treat myself! I'm quite pleased I did, as this product has proved itself a lifesaver on those days where foundation just feels like a bit too much make up to be wearing. The bottle the product comes in is clear, with a black lid and black writing, and it has a pump top. The pump top makes it really easy to control the amount you get, I like to pump it with the teeniest pressure so it comes out in tiny splodges, so I don't end up with a slippery face. As a rule, half a full pump should be enough for most people. The pump top also has the advantage of keeping the product fresh, as bacteria has a much harder time getting into the tube. So the product can be used alone or under foundation. On it's own it smoothes the skin, and gives it an almost dewy (but definitely not greasy) look. On the bottle it says it 'fills in fine lines and deep pores', I don't think i have either of these so can't vouch for it's effectiveness in this, but it certainly revives the look of your skin. To me, it seems to even out my skintone a little; I have quite noticeable dark circles under my eyes, and the texture of my skin is a little bumpy, and this primer just evens all that out a bit, and makes my skintone look more uniform. It's great on days where I don't want foundation or concealer, but I still want my skin to look healthy. To put it on, you just pump the desired amount onto your fingertips, then kind of smooth over your face; you can blend it a little, but don't rub it in too much, or you'll end up just rubbing it off. As well as making skin look more luminous and uniform, it also makes foundation glide on a treat. The foundation I'm using at the moment isn't that great on it's own (incidentally, it's also a GOSH product, bought in part of my splurge), but this primer makes it so effortless to apply. You just put the primer on as outlined above, then put foundation on over the top, preferably using a foundation brush. I find it especially makes a difference when you have blemishes; most spot treatments dry out the skin around the blemish, making it difficult to cover, but this primer covers the dryness, meaning that your foundation or concealer just glides on over the top, and is really easy to blend. I also find it makes myn foundation last longer as well; I usually hate people taking pictures of me after like an hour on nights out, and dread going to the bathroom as more often than not all of my painstakingly applied make up has slid right off my face, but when using this primer, I've definitely noticed that my foundation stays on longer, which was an unexpected bonus for me! One thing I was concerned about was that as it feels a bit oily, it might make my skin greasy, but this worry has proved unfounded, it just makes my skin really, really soft, even my boyfriend noticed! (He's a particularly unobservant type, the highest accolade I can give to any product is that it causes a change obvious to even him lol). I usually use it about 10 minutes after I've moisturised; however, if your skin is particularly oily, I'd skip the moisturiser, and just use this, as the two combined would probably be too much. It is perfume and preservative free, so shouldn't give sensitive skin anything to worry about. I also think that this product probably protects your skin, a bit like a barrier cream or something. Although it is a little expensive, it goes a very long way. When I bought it, the bottle looked much smaller than I expected, but appearances can be deceptive. You should avoid using too much of it, and as such, it looks like it will last a very long time! I've used it near enough every day for a month now, and I estimate I've used around a tenth of a bottle, if that, so at my current usage level, it should last another nine months at least, which works out at a penny pinching £1.30 a month; so it won't break the bank! Overall, I'd highly recommend this product to pretty much anyone. If your skin is quite nice and clear, this will just perk it up a bit, and make you look a bit groomed even if you totally aren't; it helps you rock the barefaced look. If you suffer blemishes or just generaly problem skin, this primer will make your cover up look better, and make it easier to apply. It's pretty much a win on all fronts, and I can't find anything to complain about, so I'll stop! I hope this was helpful, thank you for reading.
I've seen girls approving this primer on a forum about cosmetics, so I decided to try it out. And the overall impression - I've never had better primer in my life. On the top of that, I made two of my friends, my mum and sister buying one too and they are both impressed as well. Packaging: Comes in a clear plastic bottle with pump, which I like as I really hate sticking my fingers into pots of creams, emulsions etc. Also not a lot seems to be wasted when you're coming to the bottom of the packaging. Application: You only need very, very little amount (otherwise it makes your skin a bit shiny). It spreads very easily and leaves very soft residue on the skin, but not uncomfortable one. It's not oily, nor drying and you can start with application as soon as you finish applying the primer, no need to wait until it dries. Effect: Primer smoothes open pores and small wriknles completely, it won't make any miracle on deep wrinkles, but it does make a visible difference (having it tried on my 65-year-old grandma). Foundation stays on all day long, doesn't smudge and is perfectly fixed. Price: For £13 it's a bargain, definitely worth it if not much more. Definitely would recommend this to anyone, young or old.
This primer is an almost colourless gel that has a slight 'sweet' smell that comes in a pump style bottle and claims to 'fill in deep pores and fine lines'. Although it is a foundation primer I use mine under a tinted moisturizer (Shisheido). So, my morning routine goes like this, face cleanse, normal moisturizer, get dressed, GOSH primer dry hair and then tinted moisturizer- this gives time for my base moisturizer to sink in. As I am writing this it sounds like way too much! At first I was concerned that if it fills in pores and line I would be left with clogged pores and a complexion worse than the one I was trying to cover up but, no need to panic, for me at least it hasn't caused any problems of the sort. I would definitely buy this again and the acid test is that friends asked me what make up I was wearing because it looked so good. So, whilst its not cheap it is in my opinion money well spent and when I got mine there was a free eye makeup primer with it which is just as good. So keep your eyes peeled ha, ha for the offers to come around
Having used some Gosh eyeshadow quads before I was drawn to this as the packaging seemed nice and there was a 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug, I thought what the heck?! So you get 30ml with this product which is fantastic as it's a standard foundation bottle size so would basically last you through your foundation and won't run out before. As the bottle is see through you know exactly how much you are using which is great. This is a pump bottle so no germs or anything which is good, also one pump is enough for the whole face so I like that you don't waste product with this. The texture of this primer reminds me of the smashbox primer and is very silky soft and colourless and provides a really nice velvety feel without any heaviness or oiliness. If you go in to a Superdrug and swatch this you will see how velvety it is, it's amazing. It provides a matt coverage and lays a good foundation for err, foundation! For drier skin types this may be an issue as it definitely will give a smooth surface but your dry patches will be emphasised. However, for oily skin types I'd have to say this is an absoloute must have. I have an oily t-zone and it soaked all the oil up right away and I was really impressed with the fact that this primer lasts, when you apply it it can seem a little tacky but this means that the primer will stay and won't budge. For the summer this can't be beaten (in my opinion) for giving long wear oil control as well as a good base. The only disadvantage I'd say is that at £12.00 I can't see myself buying this again as it's a bit pricey even for Gosh, but if you have oily skin I can see this fast becoming a staple. Overall, this is comparable to the high end Smashbox primer, gives a long wearing lovely finish and soaks up oil!
Foundation primer is one of those products that you don't even realise you need until you try it, and then once you have you don't know how you coped without! I have previously owned primers made by premium brands, and Gosh is my first "drugstore" version. The product has an incredibly light yet silky feel, kind of like a hair serum. You apply it to your skin after your moisturiser has soaked in but before applying any makeup. I found the Gosh primer performed brilliantly at the initial application, my liquid foundation went on perfectly smoothly and evenly, and my skin looked lovely and flawless. The real test though is at the end of the day. When I don't use primer at all I find my makeup can get patchy and wear off, leaving me looking not so hot by mid afternoon. I found that when using gosh primer in combination with liquid foundation and loose powder my makeup lasted well all day, although I do tend to need a couple of tops up of powder to avoid shine. Overall I believe that gosh primer significantly extends the life of my makeup, and performed equally as well as more expensive products I have used. I also use the product as an eyeshadow primer and find it helps the colour to stick and avoid creasing as well as any formulations specifically created for this job.
This should be in your make-up bag, and it should be there now!!! GOSH is a Danish make-up brand, and in the UK it is exclusive to Superdrug. Most superdrug stores should sell it, but it is in the larger stores that you will see the full range. If I'm honest, the packaging and even shades and shade names all seem to be a rip off of MAC, but on my wages I'm not complaining. I have used MAC for years, and I can actually see no real difference in the quality. This facial primer is like a magic potion in a bottle. It retails at around £13, but you can often catch it on offer. There is also an anti-aging version, for a pound or so more. All you need to use is a pea-sized amount for your whole face - therefore your whole pump bottle will actually last you quite a long time! Apply it all over your face and neck with your fingers or a clean brush. I would recommend either applying it to a clean dry face, or after you have applied your moisturiser, not before. Your skin will feel much softer and smoother, and you will really see the difference after you apply your foundation. Any fine lines, wrinkles or open pores are completely erased, giving you a smooth flawless complexion. Another benefit is that your make-up will last much longer, as it anchors to the primer.
I am a fan of GOSH and love to treat myself with their makeup, and in my local Superdrug, I saw the GOSH Velvet Touch Primer, and having not ever tried it before, I thought I'd give it go. Personally, I don't usually use Primer's on my skin, I know I should, but never appealed to me, so this one had a lot to live up too. The actual product, is a colourless liquid, but more of a gel consistency, then of water, and is in a pump tube, and in my opinion, only one pump and maybe a half would be plenty to use, because if you use too much, then your skin can get really oily and greasy, plus it might clog up your pores. I use a sponge to apply the actual Primer, but I think that's just being me weird! Because using fingers is probably a really good way to use the Primer. If using a sponge to apply, I wouldn't use your best sponge, in fact I just use a cheap one, which isn't overly good at soaking up, as you may waste a fair amount of Primer. The Primer left my skin feeling soft and felt so much like silk! I was pretty amazed, as I've never had my skin feel that soft, and after having using lots of skin treatments, and none have ever made my skin feel as silky. In connection with skin types, I have combination skin, and I suffered no problems, but after getting my friend to try some, her skin become very dry, not really sure why, so it may not suit all skin types and can cause irritation to skin. Using the Primer with my make up, I noticed it was easier to apply my foundation, it was extremely smooth and easier to apply, which was great, but also looked much softer with the Primer underneath it. I did notice that my skin felt pretty soft throughout the day, which was amazing, and get some nice compliments about my skin looking soft and even brighter. Personally, I would recommend GOSH Velvet Touch Primer to any women, as it really makes skin soft and almost silk like, which feels amazing, plus makes your foundation look better, or wear without foundation, and skin feels soft and silky all day long. GOSH Velvet Touch Primer is available at Boots and Superdrug, and costs around £13, and shops often have deals on GOSH makeup.
I purchased this Primer on a 3 for 2 offer at superdrug. I don't usually spend so much money on make up products but as it is on offer I decided to give it a try. I am so pleased with the product that I will have no hesitations about buying the product again full price. You only need to use the tiniest bit of the primer to get an even base so the 500ml bottle lasts ages, even when been used every day. The product is colourless so won't affect the shade of your foundation. It makes my make up last all day and minimises my pores and smooths out all my blemishes. It is the perfect base for any make up and foundation tends to just glide on over the top. It is the best primer I have ever tried and for the price it delivers perfect results. It is really hard to think of any downfalls of the product, but if I had to name one it would be the price, even though it is certainly worth the money.
