      I'm converted!

A couple of days ago I was bored and online I started looking through my Freeman's Catalogue (always a mistake!) and I came across some 3 for the price of 2 items and thought oh this is good for a couple of Christmas presents!

So anyway I decided to get my step dad a mini tool kit thingamajigy and my mum an Elizabeth Arden make up set. The set is on offer but can be singly purchased for £6.50.
The third item I got for me, yes you guessed it i got me one as well lol

I'm going to review the eye shadows for this review but it also comes with a blusher and 2 lip glosses which you can buy separately. Its all in a gorgeous flat black case with Elizabeth Arden written on the front in gold small letters and on the back its got details of what is in it. Huge mirror and applicators included. Its a gorgeous looking addition to my make up bag or handbag!

The colours of the eye shadows are Aura and Topaz. They compliment each-other beautifully, one being a rich deep shimmery brown and the other being a pinky shimmering brown. What's nice about this kit is everything matches everything else and the sizes are decent. I'm suitably impressed and just to say the blusher is a shimmery pinky colour and could be worn as an eyeshadow, being a powder too.

What do i think of the eyeshadows....

Beautiful!! Easy to apply, smooth and velvet to the touch on the eyes. Easy to blend, none creasing and feels quality. It doesn't feel heavy and the more you apply the deeper the colour gets without being messy. Long lasting, mine stayed put all day till I chose to remove it The applicators don't let sprinkling of eye shadows fall off it (handy with dark colours) and when you rub the applicator in the shadow it doesn't make a mess and ruin the look of the compact! My eyes looked fantastic using this make up and whats more really easy to remove!

To me this product would be great for someone older who has a bit of class. Be brilliant for a more 'mature lady' as its kind to the skin, non fussy, easy to use and doesn't highlight every imperfection you have. Its shimmery without the glitter and lets face it as soon as we hit our 30s we don't that! lol

      Who is Elizabeth Arden?....

Elizabeth Arden was one of the most successful business executives of the 20th century, building a beauty empire. She changed her name to Elizabeth Arden, thinking that was more attractive than her birth name, Florence Nightingale Graham. She pioneered many advertising and marketing techniques.
She used modern mass marketing techniques to bring her cosmetic products to the public. She also opened and operated a chain of beauty salons and beauty spas.
Elizabeth Arden's cosmetics company continues to trade today, and was bought from Unilever in 2003 by FFI, a New York company. They changed their name to Elizabeth Arden, and are listed on the NASDAQ (RDEN). The current 'face' of Elizabeth Arden is Catherine Zeta Jones.

The company continues to offer color coordinated make-up sets, as well as an extensive line of skin care products and treatments. Their newest product is an anti-aging serum for the face and the eye area called Prevage. Unlike, heavy "fluffy" Arden creams of the past, this product utilizes the new science in skin care and is the companies only serum. Despite its high price point, the product has been well received.

Since Arden's death (1966), some of the company's focus has shifted to the development of a number of fragrance lines. The company's signature fragrance is called Red Door, named after their day spas which are called Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salons. .
There are loads of Arden fragrances, cosmetics and skin care to choose from the list is endless!

The cheapest place I've found to make my Arden purchases is TJ Hughes and at the moment the shop has offers on 2 Arden fragrances for £15.00 (30 ml only). As for the make up prices start at about £3.00!

      My final thought...

A lovely sophisticated brand, the packaging is lovely and the products (I've tried) have been fantastic!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

For me the advantage of an MP3 player is not being able to select the tracks I want to carry around with me, or the fact that I can share them with mates, or even the prospect of free choons. It's the fact that you can theoretically shake the thing around like a pneumatic drill crossed with a cheerleader and it won't skip. There are absolutely no moving parts; just flash memory. As such this is a superb bit of kit. I actually ended up with it on impulse. I was in town one day with money burning a hole in my pocket and the shops about 10 minutes from closing, and desperate to buy a new toy. Aha, I thought, as I passed Dixons, an MP3 player, why not! So I ran to WHSmiths, read the first review I could find in a magazine, ran back to Dixons and bought the one that got the best review. Stupid way to shop, but I fell very lucky. The sound quality is great (but don't use the headphones that come free with it - no matter how much they supposedly cost if you buy them separately). I really haven't got any complaints at all, and I'm very fussy - I've been known to return Walkmans simply on the grounds that I didn't like their sound. And the no-skip thing is really true. At last something I can actually run with which simply doesn't skip at all! This is why I can't understand the complaints that magazines seem to be levelling at this first generation of players now. Suddenly they're all complaining about the lack of memory (32MB seemed to be about standard, 64 if you were very lucky - the Philex has 32 but can be expanded), and praising the new generation of jukebox players, with built-in 6GB hard-drives. But the point is, these new players introduce the moving parts again. OK, they probably still play from flash memory, and load it from the hard drive, but there's no way you can give a hard-drive the beating you can give my little Philex. You'd simply destroy it. The software for the Philex
installs easily on your PC, although I'm not so sure about the software for the voice-recording feature. The instruction manual described two sets of drivers and how to install them, in quite a lengthy procedure, but only one set were on the disc. As it happens I don't use the voice recorder anyway - I think it's just a gimmick, but if it would be an important gimmick for you then check. So if you were waiting for a completely no-skip music player, then I'd say the Philex was a great bargain - top notch quality at not quite the top prices. If you don't want to be able to jog with the thing, but would like 18 hours of music in your pocket then it's definitely not for you.

This is one of the better MP3 players available on the market at the moment. I bought this quite a while back and must say that i am thoroughly pleased with it. The player has only 32MB of Ram which is a downer but you can probably find the player now for about £100 and another £60-£70 gets you another 32MB so it aint too bad. This player is your typical first generation player which doesn't have too many no nonsense features. The player has a very good bass and treble feature allowing you to add or reduce the amounts in accordance with whatt you are listening to. The player is also quite loud which was a problem with the initial batch of MP3 players. The player is connected via the parallel port on your computer and is quite easy to set up. The Mpress 3 software that comes with the player is also easy to use but the absence of software that allows you to convert CD tracks into MP3's is disappointing. The battery life of the player is very good with a single AA battery lasting more than 10 hours. The size of the player is likewise good although it is quite big by todays standards. The design of the plaer is good and it is very durable not breaking from the smallest of collisions. The lack of a track namer feature is not that important although it would have been nice. The player is also very hard to use in the dark since the LCD screen doesn't light up very well. The red light running across the edge of the screen is no good. Apart from these minor niggles the player is very good for someone looking for a cheaper no nonsense alternative to the expensive players on the market now.

anyway here goes i was lucky enough to win one of these players and i was very pleased with it. I can fit about 8 -10 songs on the 32mb memory card, which can be added up to 64mb by adding a memeory card. This player looks very smart, the battery lasts a long time and the sound quality is good. It also has a dicophone function which it good, aswell as a line in function allowing you to record from the radio, but on thi the quality is not so good, but that is just an added bonus anyway. It also has functions such as repeat and random which is useful. I fully recommend buying one!

The main advantage of listening to your tunes in MP3 format is you can select the tunes that you want and compile them all onto your MP3 player with no need for discs. Doesn’t that just sound too good to be true? The Sony MS Walkman is like something taken from a sci-fi classic. It looks beautiful and is a massive advance in gadgetry. The sheer ergonomics of it are perfect; it is tiny and will fit in the smallest of pockets no problem. And even though MP3 tracks cannot skip, Sony has incorporated a jog function for consistently clear listening throughout earthquakes of Richter Scale 8+. I have found the software that comes with the unit is brilliant. Sony have, however been clever in order to protect their music. The unit is fitted with a "security guard" which prevents you from trying to install a track onto the unit more than 3 times without checking it back into the computer first. -A right bummer if you share music with your mates often. Sony stands for good sound and this unit certainly can boost that bass and beast the volume right up.

I love these eyeshadows. Take a squint at my photo, and you'll notice I'm half Chinese. This means I have deep-set eyes, and I have enormous trouble finding eyeshadows that don't crease in an instant once I've put them on. I got a great big set of Elizabeth Arden makeup from my boyfriend at Christmas. (He has known me for long enough to know that there are two ways to my heart; through makeup and through clothes. I'm not shallow; just honest.) Since then, Elizabeth Arden eyeshadows have been the only ones I've used. Everything else has sat, untouched, at the back of my dressing table. These powder eyeshadows are beautifully smooth. So smooth they're creamy; yet for some reason they don't crease. The range of colours available tends towards the subtle; they have some great "I'm not wearing eyeshadow" eyeshadows. They come with a great applicator with a longish stem, which really helps putting them on. They do matte and slightly sparkly colours which are great for the evening. I'm not much in love with the packaging; I don't really like any of the EA packaging, though, so maybe it's a personal thing. Give this stuff a try. You'll love it.
