Collection 2000 is not a brand of make up that I usually choose, but I first brought this product when I was around 15 and money as a young teenager was tight. It cost me £2.99 from Superdrug, and against rivals maybeline, rimmel and bourjois with there liquid eyeliners ranging from £5-8, this was really a no brainer for me. I had to give it a go. The look ===== The look of the product in general is pretty plain, theres nothing really stand out about it. So I can understand why someone who wasn't as cash strapped would opt for a more eye catching and well known brand of eyeliner. As you can see from the picture the colour of the product is black with white writing. The handle is long, with the pot of liquid at the bottom. On the back is a white barcode sticker, and if you peel this back it gives you a list of ingredients. How I Rate It ======== Application of this eyeliner, personally I find very easy. The handle is long, allowing enough room to comfortably be placed in your hand. This allows for precise application. The nib of the tip is thin, making it easy to get the desired look, rather than a scribbly line. One thing that I have found with this tip is that over time it softens, I have found that once it does this it makes application easier than when first purchased. As it can be quite hard when first used. This eyeliner has very good staying power, I tend to apply two coats of this eyeliner, iv found with this you will get atleast 8-12 hours wear out of it, if it was needed. Its very easy to remove, I just remove mine with a normal make up wipe. It takes just seconds! This product is kind on your eyes too, I have had no discomfort or aggravation with it at all. Overall Summary =========== Since buying this liquid eyeliner all them years ago, I have only ever strayed once. I tried out a bourjois eyeliner, but this was not for me at all! I really try as I might can not for the life of me think of one bad thing to say about this product! The longevity of the product is great, you get the desired look everytime, kind to your skin. And for just £2.99 I really don't know how another product will match upto this one for me. Iv used it for years before and will continue to use it for years to come. If your looking to purchase a new eyeliner then give this ago, you will not be disappointed!
'Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Eyeliner' I first purchased the 'Fast stroke eye liner' by 'Collection 2000' because had heard good things about it from friends, I brought it from my local 'Superdrug' store for £2.99 which my opinion is not really that bad of a price compared to other drug store brands. On my first wearing of this eye liner I was not impressed with it at all, in my opinion it has too many flaws. The first of them being the formula: which on opening the bottle had quite a strong smell. It applied badly, initially it was stringy and even after two more coats it was still very broken up, I think may have had something to do with the applicator which was so thin it was barely visible. Also I found that due to the poor applicator I was prone to mistakes when applying the product, As a result of this when I went to remove the mistakes I had made it was near enough impossible to remove without rubbing your skin red raw. After wearing the eyeliner for around two hours I found that it had begun to crack and breakdown. At one point I was even asked by a stranger 'why I was upset', even though I had not been crying, I then realised the women asked me this because the eye liner had run under my eyes as it would if I had actually been upset. I think the only aspect of this product I actually liked is the packaging it has a longer handle on the lid which means the applicator can be used more like a brush as opposed to a pencil meaning if the formula was of a better quality, when applying the product you would get sweeping 'strokes' as opposed to broken lines. All in all I would not repurchase this product, I feel it is of very poor quality and is in no way worth the £2.99 I paid for it.
Item: Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Eyeliner Colour: Black Size: 6ml Price: £2.50 Bought in: Superdrug I wanted to get back in to wearing more eye liner and couldn't remember how I got on with liquid eye liner and not wanting to waste a lot of money (on the off chance I didn't like it), bough this one to give it a go as it was only £2.50 Packaging and design: This comes in a tiny little bottle with a very looooong lid. It actually reminds me of a tiny little witches hat! It looked like ALL colours come in a black bottle, so this one wasn't just black because I had bought a black eye liner, it was black as that's the packaging colour. The bottle overall is 10.5cm long and the lid externally makes up 7cm of that length. The little bottle holds 6ml of eye liner. The lid is just plain black and as it is so thin (going from 1cm wide at base to 0.5cm at tip) nothing is written on it. The bottle has "Fast Stroke Eyeliner, Collection 2000" written on the front and the barcode on the back and one side advises you of the size and to shake the bottle before use. Very basic, but as it is so small you couldn't really fit much more on there. If the bottle didn't say Collection 2000 on it, there would be no reason to suspect that it only cost £2.50 as it is quite classic looking. When you unscrew the lid a little stick with a solid brush at the end pops out. This when held next to the bottle reaches nearly to the bottom, so may not let you use every last drop of the eye liner and is likely why they advise you to shake the bottle to cover the brush. Application, wear ability, colour and smell: You apply liquid eye liner direct to your eye lid in the required area and allow to dry for a few seconds before blinking. This eye liners brush is not soft, it is actually a solid item and you more wipe it over the eye lid than brush it which is OK but beware that the brush bends at the end it connects to the wand with, not at the tip, so if you press too hard it can press more eye liner than you need higher on the lid than you want it to. The brush is a good width and I felt I could get the required amount on with 2 or 3 strokes, more or less can be used dependant on how thick you like to wear your eye liner. The colour is jet black and really covers the area of skin well, no gaps or skin showing through. It has a faint smell of plastic that goes away once dry, but other than that no other offensive odour. Once you have applied it, I felt like there was a very slight tingle to the area of skin it was sitting on but after less than 30 seconds this was gone and it was totally dried in. Make sure and do wait until it has dried in though as it will smudge if you blink and is hard to get off. The eye liner will last well in to the night. Actually lasting longer than your eye shadow. To take it off you really need to use eye makeup remover pads or baby wipes, if you try to just wash it off you need to scrub too hard and will make your eye lids inflamed. The wand length is also ample for application and you can get a good grip of it for precision application. I guess I do like wearing liquid eyeliners!! Haha So for the odd occasion I want a more dramatic eye look so for £2.50 will buy this again as I won't wear eye liner often enough to be able to justify a more expensive one.
PRODUCT ------------ The first time I brought this product was a year ago and I have had two more since. I have never used liquid eyeliner before I brought this and since it has been the only one I have used. It is cheap and it works, so I see no need in shopping for another more expensive one. At first I struggled to use this product and I used it everyday. It could take me up to 45 minutes to do both eyes. After around 8 weeks this product started going thick and impossible to apply, so I binned it and brought another one. This product on a whole lasts 6 weeks and I think this is a decent space of time. The only fault I find is that this product still has some left when it goes out of date. At this present time I do not use make-up as much so I use it once or twice a week on days when I go out shopping or out to visit family. It is not very time consuming anymore either. It usually takes me no longer than 10 minutes. The product comes in an all black bottle and applicator and inside is a black thin liquid. The wand is very long giving you flexibility for when you apply the product. The front of the product had the brand logo and the product name and the back of the product has the date and a small set of need to knows. You must shake this product before its use and when you do you will hear a loud clacking sound, like a tip-ex pen. The products wand is very flexible and bends to how you like it and 95% of the time you can do one eye in one easy stroke. The liquid is also very easy to remove at the end of the day or if you make a mistake. I'm sure a little wet cotton bud will do by I have eye make-up remover and Simple wipes and I find they are skin friendly for me. COST & RECOMMEND --------------------------- This product is extremely cheap and affordable at £2.99 in Superdrug. I think this price is fitting considering how good the product actually is. The bottom line is that I would definitely recommend this product to not just a friend but anyone. A lot of people recommend this to friends to try instead of wasting money on an expensive one and finding they do not like it. From that point on they always use Collection 2000 because they see no need in shopping elsewhere.
I bought this eyeliner for the first time about 4 years ago and have bought it several times since. It lasts me quite a long time as I only use it for glamming up my make up on nights out rather than for everyday use due to the job I do. I usually buy the eyeliner from Superdrug, but I believe you can also buy it from Boots and some supermarkets like Asda as well that stock Collection 2000. The fast stroke eyeliner cost me £2.99 which as far as I am aware is the standard price charged everywhere. This is an extremely good price to pay for such a good quality liquid eyeliner. I bought the fast stroke eyeliner in Brown as I am fair skinned so didn't want the eyeliner to look too severe. The fast stroke eyeliner also comes in Black, Blue and Black Waterproof. The brown complimented my fair skin well and had a nice shade to it. The fast stroke eyeliner has a soft nip applicator rather than a bristle style applicator. This makes applying the eyeliner much easier, and allows you to create smooth, straight lines with the eyeliner. I hate liquid eyeliners that have bristle style applicators as I always end up making a mess with them due to the applicator being too flimsy. So the nib applicator is a great winner with me. The nib style applicator also makes it easy to create flicks by your outer eye with the eyeliner, which is what I do when creating my night time make up look. The eyeliner bottle is approximately 7cms tall in total and this includes both the handle of the applicator and also the pot that the product is contained within. Most of this length is the applicator, which is very helpful as it allows you to hold the applicator easily making application better. The width of the applicator is just right as well as it allows you to have a nice firm hold, also reducing the chances of making application errors. The consistency of the liquid eyeliner is also just right. I have used other well-known liquid eyeliners before and the consistency has been too thick meaning you have to drag the product alone your eyes which can irritate them quite easily. Or the product has been too thin and you have trouble getting the eyeliner to stay put. I work long 12 and a half hour shifts, and the only flaw this liquid eyeliner has is the fact that when you have been working in a warm environment for this amount of time the eyeliner looks like it has started to flake/crack. I don't know whether this is just due to the heat of the environment I work within, and others therefore would not have this problem. Also, this can be corrected with a bit of a touch up. Overall, I love the Collection 2000 fast stroke eyeliner and will continue to buy it as long as they sell it.
I wasn't expecting much from an eyeliner so cheap, but this one surpassed all expectations. The eyeliner is priced at only £2.99 which is amazing for a liquid eyeliner on the highstreet. The packaging suggests that not much eyeliner is in the little pot at the bottom, as the handle simple screws off and it is like a little ink well. However this eyeliner has lasted me at least 8 months now with frequent usage. The nib itself is more like a stick rather than a brush which is one of the reasons I bought it in the first place. The last eyeliner I had had a brush and I really couldn't control it whereas this one is much easier to use. The black isn't as intense as other eyeliners and does tend to fade throughout the day. However if you reapply a second coat this often solves the issue. Sometimes when doing this however, the previous coat gets stuck the brush and you end up undoing all your hard work but I believe that is the nature of most liquid eyeliners. It is easy to remove with a makeup wipe and it is perfect for doing the tops of your eyelids. I am yet to be able to achieve the 'flick' effect in the corners of your eyes but this may just be a skill I am yet to master rather than the product. But I do imagine a brush type liquid eyeliner would be more flexible at doing that kind of thing. The product is also fast drying. Overall, I definitely recommend this to people on a budget as its brilliant quality for the money and I can imagine using it for a few more years to come. It lasts for ages, its easy enough to use and it gives good results!
Collection 2000 is a budget brand of cosmetics. It is available in most drugstores and my local Superdrug usually has the whole range of Collection 2000 cosmetics on offer, so I often find myself buying bits that I don't need purely because it seems like a bargain! The fast stroke liquid eyeliner is one of my relatively recent Collection 2000 purchases. I usually buy the khol liner but as it was out of stock I thought that this'd make a bit of a change and it was cheap so I thought I'd take the risk and buy it. While I was slightly skeptical due to the price, it's actually alright - well it's useable, anyway! There are a quite a few disadvantages which I will go into a little later but for the price it is average quality. It retails at £2.99 which is so much cheaper than a majority of my other liquid liners and it looks (almost) just as good, although not as intense unless I pile it on. As far as I'm aware there's only one colour available - black, which I think will be a slight disadvantage for people who prefer brown/grey liners but I have dark lashes and dark hair and find that black liner suits me well so this isn't an issue for me. The eyeliner comes in a plastic pot which is black with white writing on saying the brand and product name. The pot has a long screw-on lid which has the wand and applicator attatched to it. The wand is a good length and the applicator is shaped like a long, thin felt tip nib. Rather than being a brush it is made of a soft, dense foam-like material. It is a little pointy and it can hurt quite a lot if I'm not careful - especially on my waterline! The nib is flexible which ensures that it glides along my skin smoothly, creating a neat and even line. I use this mainly on my lids when I'm playing around with different looks, eg cat-eyes because it's a little too pointy for my waterline. If you have steady hands you'll be fine but I almost always poke myself in the eye by mistake! The liner is quite runny in consistency and blobs up on the wand so any excess needs wiping off before each stroke. One stroke leaves a faint, dark grey looking line which looks quite washed out and I need to apply 3-4 coats for the black to look as intense as I want it, meaning that I get through 4x more of it each time that I use it than I do my more expensive liquid liner, making it not the best value after all. Also, the texture is very wet - almost greasy and it smudges very, very easily so it's important to stay still while it dries. It seems to take a lot longer to dry than any other liquid liner that I have and I'd estimate that it takes around five minutes to completely dry and lose the wet feeling. As for the lasting power, it's not great and it does get quite messy after a couple of hours as it starts to look like dried, flaky paint! Not a good look at all and it needs completely removing and re-applying rather than just re-applying because it starts to go weird and peel/flake. I give the eyeliner 3/5 stars with the advantages being the price and the accuracy of the applicator. The fact that it needs several coats to look intense enough is a let down, as is the very pointy, verging on dangerous nib. The lasting power also isn't great. For the price though, I can't complain too much - you get what you pay for.
I've been loyal to this eyeliner for a few of years now, when I first started wearing makeup the only thing I looked for when purchasing was the price tag, bearing in mind a 15 year old doesn't exactly have the funds to have a makeup bag full of the top of the range stuff. And I've got from mascara to mascara, foundation to foundation but I've never found another liquid eyeliner that compares to this one! Though I do not have sensitive skin on my face so I cannot comment on how it may effect someone who does. ABOUT THE PRODUCT **************** I buy mine from Boots, at a very reasonable £2.99 though at other retailers I have seen it sold at £3.99, though I still wouldn't complain at that price. (You can often find it in 3 for 2 deals also). It comes in a small black pot with a 'handle' extending to about 3 inches long, and about the circumferences of a pencil which comes in handy with trying to put it on and you feel comfortable with the handle! THE APPLICATOR ************* Unlike most of the liquid eyeliners it is more of a soft felt nib that you dip into the liquid, rather than a brush that goes frayed quickly or ends up clumping. The rod that the nib is stuck onto is quite firm which means (if you have a steady hand) you will get a smooth line easily. You do sometimes have to wipe excess liquid off on the side as you take it out if you want a medium line, otherwise for my personal taste it's a little thick. LONGEVITY ********* Well, in terms of once it's applied how long it stays on your eyes, it is fantastic! The best one I have ever tried, my friends often buy expensive ones (i'm talking £15-20) and mine is on a lot longer than theirs and if you don't mind me saying, I think mine looks better! It doesn't crack or flake off even on nights out. In terms of how long the product lasts with every day use, I'd say about 6-8 weeks. (though obviously this will change with how much of it is used at once and how often it is applied.) REMOVAL ******* Although it stays on fantastically during the day (even when it's raining), when you attack it with a make up wipe it comes off easily and smoothy with no black stains left behind, or hard rubbing to force it off. I love this eyeliner and would not use another one now, the value for money is amazing. You get a smooth long lasting finish and it takes a couple of seconds to do! I very much recommend it.
Now I'm a girl who loves her liquid eyeliner! I've tried them all from mac to boujoir but none have ever even slightly come close to this little beauty. It's one of the cheapest yet it seems to do its job far more efficiently than the more expensive brands. I can 100% testify to its stay ability as I've worn it on plenty of nights out and have come home with my make up in great condition. For It's price I can see why people would be skeptical but it really is a diamond in the rough for beauty bargain hunters. The nib is very fine so gives a very accurate line. The only downside to this eyeliner is now and again they'll have a batch that make my eyelids feel as though they're being burned. However, this soon dies down and as a consistent purchaser of this eyeliner for over 5 years I can count on one hand the amount of times this has happened to me. (I don't have particularly sensitive skin). In summary I wholeheartedly suggest putting any cosmetic snobbery to the side and buying this little bargain!
The reason I purchased this item was because both of my sisters owned it and said it was really good for the price, coming in at £2.99. The first thing I noticed when I bought it was the packaging. It wasn't the best or most expensive I had seen as the bottle was made out of plastic so made it look slightly cheap and tacky. I chose the colour black because brown would have been too light and blue was obviously a very unnatural colour. I like this eyeliner as the brush has a very thin tip so you can achieve small lines and flicks. It also goes on to the skin really easily and smoothly. The product itself also last for a very long time which I was not expecting as the pot of eyeliner is quite small but it will last you up to approximately a year with very regular use ( almost every day) which is absolutely amazing considering it only costs £3.00! The staying power is also amazing as it wont come off during the day unless you actually try to rub it off with you hand or a cloth and it usually stays on even after I've had a shower and occasionally once I have slept with it still on my eyes. The only downside to the eyeliner is the fact that once it dries it sometimes looks almost shiny if too much has been put on and looks unnatural but this is hardly ever a problem for me.
Did I mention WOW? I think this product is fantastic! As a lover of dark eyes when using make-up, I must say that this liquid eyeliner is my best friend! I find collection 2000 to be a rather affordable brand and I've seen it in most places that sell make-up, including super markets such as Asda and Morrisons. I always buy my liquid eyeliner from 2000. It's cheap and very easy to use. I normally pick a bottle up for around £2.99. You get what you pay for, and a whole lot more. The product stands around 6-7cm, of which most is the applicator. So it's pretty nifty to put in your bag for a quick touch up. Having the applicator be quite long helps with the actual application as you can get a firm grip and helps to provide precision and definition. The brush on the end of the applicator is slightly thin, but is very easy to apply thickly. It's also quite stiff. I can't get along with the ones that move as you slide the eyeliner along. Theres also no bristles on the applicator, which is great and none develop through use either. The only thing I can say about this eyeliner is, if your out all day, be sure to take it with you as it does tend to flake after a couple of hours. Nothing a quick touch up can not sort. This is perfect for beginners using liquid eyeliner also because of the kind of brush and if you do manage to get it in your eye (let's face it we all do from time to time) it doesn't really hurt. The eyeliner lasts me around 2-3 months and I wear it pretty much every day. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to use liquid eyeliner, the price you can't argue over and it's very easy to use. You can also get it in other colours.
I am a liquid eyeliner addict. I wear it almost every day with varying thickness's and lengths depending on the look required. For the day I normally wear just a thin line and a small flick just to make my eyelashes look more defined and lengthen my eye a little. For evening I will normally pair it with some Rimmel mascara and do quite a thick line and a very big flick at the sides. I used to just use pencil khol eyeliners but I found that they smudged on to my top eyelid or just under my eyebrow after a few hours so that was no use. When I first tried liquid eyeliner I don't even remember which make I bought but the applicator was like a tiny paint brush with long thin bristles. This was a nightmare because they were so flexible it was hard to get a nice straight line, and although I have a very steady hand it was impossible to get a nice flick. Years ago I bought this Collection 2000 eyeliner and I have bought nothing else since. I am sure that other makes do the same thing but this is pretty much the cheapest liquid eyeliner you can buy at just £2.99 at superdrug. It lasts me a very long time. Maybe 4-6 months but I don't exactly count! The applicator on this is like a hard felt tear drop shaped end. Therefore it is the perfect shape to create flicks since the tip is pointed and a bit hard so you can be very precise. But then the side is nice and curved to allow for filling in or making a nice smooth thick line. The consistency of the liquid is really nice. It's definitely black black, and not watery. Although sometimes you do a stroke and the middle of the stroke isn't very black, perhaps because of putting too much pressure on the tip which wiped some of the liquid off. It's easily filled in though. The bottle is really small with a long end to hold on to which is really comfortable and you can balance it on the palm of your hand to get steady. It also has some kind of ball inside the main liquid compartment so that when you shake it it mixes up the liquid and never goes dry. Well, mine never have and sometimes I wouldn't use them for a couple of weeks. It comes in other colours and I have used the blue one before but that one was terrible and really liquidy so stick to thicker darker colours I think! All in all the best eyeliner I could imagine, well done collection 2000!
I don't often wear make up, so when I was looking for an eyeliner to wear to a friend's birthday night out, I was wanting to find something that was relatively cheap, easy to use and effective. This product from Collection 2000 meets all these criteria. It's widely available; I think I bought it from Superdrug but you can also get it at Boots or other retailers, and is a decent price. It is often available on special offers, such as 2 for 1 with other Collection 2000 products, so is definitely a reasonably priced product. I wear it every so often and it's lasted almost a year. With more regular use it would not last as long, but due to the price being so reasonable, it is cheap to replace when it runs out. Even for someone who isn't that experienced with applying make up, this product is relatively easy to apply. I find liquid eyeliners far easier than pencil/kohl ones. It lasts for a fairly long time and so doesn't need to be regularly reapplied, but is also easy to remove with make up wipes - this also applies to the seemingly inevitable bits of eyeliner that end up on my face rather than my eye! The colour is a dark black which looks striking teamed with a black mascara. I find this to be a great product which is also versatile; I can wear it when I'm dressing up for a night out, or for work, or to lectures at university, and it works well and looks good in all these situations. It is also available in brown, and there is a waterproof version which I have used and would also recommend. The bottle is in a sleek but simple design and it is small enough to fit neatly inside a small bag for easy reapplication on a night out! In conclusion, I would certainly recommend this product for people who aren't wanting to spend huge amounts on eyeliner.
I wear eyeliner on both my top lid and bottom, I prefer using pencil on my lower lid and liquid on the top. This is purely because I find it easier to get a precise line on my top lid with liquid eyeliner. The liquid eyeliner I'm using at the moment is this one from Collection 2000, I picked it up from my local Boots for around £3. It is available to buy from a variety of places like Superdrug and supermarkets that stock Collection 2000 makeup. It is available in a couple of different colours, black, blue and brown being the main ones, I have the black. The eyeliner comes in a small cube shaped bottle, it's nothing fancy being all black in colour and the product details printed on the back. The lid of the eyeliner is quite large, at around 7-8cm long, this is because the lid of the bottle also acts as the applicator to apply the eyeliner. After unscrewing the lid you find a small nib placed at the end of the lid, this isn't a brush like other liquid eyeliners I have used, it is pretty solid. Applying the eyeliner is quite easy, I find it easier to get a precise line with this nib. Usually with brush liquid eyeliners I end up with a thicker line on my top eyelid than I would like but that isn't the case with this Collection 2000 eyeliner. I usually apply a thin line but if I want a thicker line it is easy to apply too, just by turning the applicator to a bit of an angle. The small nib also makes it easier to create flicks and designs, though I never do this. The long lid of the applicator balances nicely between my thumb and forefinger giving it a lot more stability and I think this helps me to create a neat line. After applying this liquid eyeliner in the morning, I find it lasts me well, right up until it's time to take my makeup off. I haven't experienced any smudging or flaking off so the quality of the eyeliner is fantastic considering how much it costs. When I do come to take my makeup off, the eyeliner isn't stubborn and despite having great staying power, it wipes straight off. I'd definitely recommend this liquid eyeliner from Collection 2000, not only does it last all day but the long lid and nib at the end of the applicator makes it a lot easier than others to apply too. I think it's great value for money.
For around five years I have used the Collection 2000 fast stroke eyeliner in black religiously with trying one other brand just recently - and after the dissapointment I had with the other brand - which I will shortly be reviewing also - I will never change eyeliner again. I was first attracted to this 5 years ago as in my younger teenage years I used to use a lot of silver and gold liquid eye liners as that was the fashion back then... but I always found them very difficult to apply and usually ended up with my friends having to put it on for me! With the Collection 2000 eyeliner it stands out to the rest because you can tell by looking at it that it will be very easy to apply with the skinny handle - no other brands is as thin. ********** Design The bottle itself is quite small - roughly 1cm in width and and standing around 2cm tall - the rest is made up of the handle. The whole bottle is black other than white font which tells you the brand name, product name and ingredients on the back. In the five years I have been using this the design has not changed once. Why should it? Why fix something when its not broken?! It looks great and its compact. ********** Ease of use When you twist the handle off you find quite a small brush which is great for applying the liquid - always give a good shake before use so you get enough liquid coming out of the bottle. You will also hear a clunking noise inside the bottle which is a little ball you get in the bottle of many eyeliners shaking around which is used to give the best results. ********** How long does it last? I am a big fan of chunky black liquid eyeliner and I love adding flicks at the end of my eyes for extra effect. Normally for me this bottle lasts around 6-8 weeks depending on use - and for the price I think this is great. ********** Is it worth it?! In my opinion if you are new to liquid eyeliners definetly purchase this one, you will not be dissapointed! By far the easiest of them all to apply and you can't quibble over the price or how long it lasts.
