“ Brand: Clinique / Type: Makeup Palette With High Impact Mascara, Colour Surge Eyeshadow Quad ,Double Face Powder, Blusher & 4 Lipstick All in one / Mascara „
I bought this little beauty on a recent flight to Vancouver, thinking it was the perfect size to fit in my bulging bag. It cost me £30, which I think is quite a bargain as you get lots of Clinique products in one compact.
A miniture High Impact Mascara in black, Superpowder Double Face Powder in Matte Beige (No 2), Soft Pressed Powder Blusher in Mocha Pink (No 20), Colour Surge Eye Shadow Quad in Spicy (No 2), 2 x Long Last Lipstick in Creamy Nude Soft Shine (No 3) and Blushing Nude Soft Shine (No 12), 2 x Colour Surge Lipstick in Extreme Pink (No 17) and Wild Berry (No 21), Moisture Sheer Lipstick in Silver Pink (No 22). You also get a few applicators.
Size & Layout:
All of this fits neatly into the compact, which has two layers. The top of the compact is a mirror on the inside and outside, which I thought was fine for toucing up on the go. I really didn't need anything else makeup wise while I was away, which was great because the compact takes up very little room in my luggage. The compact/palette itself measures 7.5cm x 12.5cm, so really is quite small.
As always the make-up was fantastic, I have quite pale skin so the powder was fine for me, although I would imagine it may be a bit light for those with darker skin or when you have a tan.
The eye-shadow quad is nice and neutral all in shades of brown and could be vamped up a bit for the evening. I liked just wearing the nude colour during the day as a base and also to look like I hadn't done myself up too much.
The lip colours are all great colours, a selection of reds and pinks but all in the middle ranges of the colours so they will pretty much suit anyone. I found them to be moisturising and very long-lasting, which is good when you're 1) in a hot dry country and getting cracked lips and 2) when you're on the go and don't have time for lots of touch-ups.
Blusher wise I would say that it is almost like a bronzer rather than a blusher. It's a lovely colour to compliment slightly tanned skin and looks quite natural.
As for the applicators, I would say as with all travel compacts they are small and this might be an issue for some people, but I personally didn't mind using them whilst on the go. When I got home I just ended up using my usual applicators.
All in all a great little compact that was of much use throughout my travels across Canada.
After going on trips and finding that carrying a complete bag of makeup was quite heavy in my bag. I started looking for a compact that had everything I needed - including a mirror. I got mine online for around £30, you can probably get it cheaper if you look around alot.
The pallete includes a double face powder, powder blusher, an eye shadow set, mascara, five shades of lipstick, a blusher brush, powder puff, lipstick and eye shadow applicators. The mirror is pretty small, on the upper side of the pallete.
The powder is quite light to use, just the right shade for me as I am quite pale but maybe too pale when sunkissed. The blusher is a nice pinky colour that looks nice when sweeped on lightly. The brown eyeshadows look really nice and natural. The pinks are abit pale but look nice in the day, will look really nice in the summer with floral dresses etc. The lipsticks are really great and long lasting and I find the colours look really nice and not too strong. The mascara is also really great for touchups as it seperates lashes well!
Overall the pallette is great value for money, for clinique you would expect to pay so much more for all these items! Its a must have for ANY girls handbag as its so compact and comes with everything youd need for a good touch up.
I have long loved clinique products but am always put off by the price tag. This combined so many smaller make up products I couldn't resist.
Our flight was delayed by around 6 hours to turkey last year. We complained and were given some vouchers to spend either in the airport or on the plane. I decided to keep mine incase I was hungry on the plane. As I wasn't I decided to put them towards a gift for myself (afterall I had to wait 6 hours to go on my holiday!) the inflight brochure advertised the travel set at £25. A saving of around £10 I think. When putting my vouchers towards it I paid £21.
For this price you get 4 eyeshadows all of which are non-offensive and usable for every day wear. For nighttime on holiday I used the darker shade for a more dramatic look. You get a nice blusher, I particularly like the pink glow it gives on a tan. There are 4 lipstains one of which is a bit hookerish but the rest are fine. I don't use the foundation as I like liquid foundation for my dry skin but it looks ok. There is also a mascara which is ok but won't last very long as it's small and the wand is a little short.
The mirror runs the length of the case and is good quality. The case is also of typical clinique style and quality. The clasp is sufficient and won't open on it's own in your case or travel bag like some cheaper brands.
This is an ideal splurge purchase for a holiday or short trip away. Although you can't get rid of your make up bag completely you can definitely streamline it.
Overall a very good travel cosmetic.
I'd been looking for an all- in- one set of make up for quite a while when, a few months ago I came across Clinique's Travel Exclusive Make- up Palette online. It contained everything a girl could want on the go including: Superpowder Double Face Powder; Soft Pressed Powder Blusher; Eye Shadow Quad; High Impact Mascara; two shades of Long Last Lipstick; two shades of Colour Surge Lipstick; and a Moisture Sheer Lipstick. There's also a blusher brush, powder pad and lipstick/ eye shadow applicators. I paid £29.99 online for this, it's a little harder to get hold of now but it is still available.
The palette itself is a mirrored effect, rectangular box approximately 12cm by 7cm and about 2cm deep, so as you can tell it's pretty small, perfect for carrying around where ever you go. The lid easily clips open (but not so easy that it opens up in your bag) to reveal a mirror covering the whole of the underneath of the lid, it's a good size although it is sometimes a little difficult to juggle holding the palette close enough to your face whilst accurately applying make- up. The blusher and eye shadow does get onto the mirror, and although it's easy to wipe off my mirror has never been perfectly clean, you have to really scrub hard to get rid of all the marks. The 2 blushers and 4 eye shadows are on the top underneath the mirror, with the lipsticks being pulled out, in effect from a little draw underneath. As the lipsticks can be a little sticky it avoids any of the powders mixing into the compartment underneath.
One of the main reasons I bought Clinique's Palette was because it had such a good variation of shades of blushers, eye shadows and lipsticks all of which are everyday shades I would use.
Firstly, the Superpowder is in Matt Beige and all imperfections are well covered up helped by the powder pad included in the palette, it's perfect for my skin colour however I am a little pale. Since the weather perked up for a few days a couple of weeks ago and I got a bit of a tan I can't use the powder as it's far too light to use. The blusher in shade mocha pink is far too bright to use with the pale powder but it's a nice shade of pinky brown and when used with a darker foundation looks really nice.
The eye shadow quad is made up of two browns and two pinks and the set of shades is called Spicy. One of the pinks is very pale, and doesn't really do anything, it's a nice shade to use in the day though as it does have a pink tinge to it. The darker pink is more of a blusher colour than being suitable for eye shadow, and I've never used this one. The lighter of the two browns has a nice pink tinge to it and this is my favourite of the shadows, it's perfect for going out for something to eat, where the darkest shade is perfect for nights out and is also good for lining the eyes.
I often find it difficult to find a shade of lipstick in sets like these, however Clinique have done a really good job in this little kit. There are two long lasting lipsticks in Creamy/ Blushing Nude Soft Shine, both shades are lovely, and this along with their long lasting qualities makes them perfect for a night out. The two colour surge lipsticks are great when you need a burst of colour and come in wild berry and extreme pink. My favourite lipsticks however is the silver pink moisture sheer lipstick, it's quite neutral making it perfect for use in the day and keeps your lips nice and soft. I often apply the lipsticks using my finger, as the brush provided I find it too small as I have quite full lips.
The best bit about my palette is definitely the High Impact Mascara, it gives my lashes lots of volume as well as separating them well, and the dark black shade gives my eyes a lovely defined look. Although the mascara is a small size to fit in the palette it's lasted me a good three months of near frequent use and is showing no signs of running out. Finally decent mascara!
Overall, I feel that Clinique's Travel Exclusive Make- up Palette is a good buy, it's not cheap and there are a couple of things which I don't use but compared to other sets like this I do use a lot more than I usually would. For what you get inside it's definitely for the £30 price tag as you really get the use, I've found the perfect mascara in this set and for that alone you can pay up to £15 easily. The palette is the perfect size for carrying around wherever you go, a must have for any girl's travels.
The Clinique Travel Make Up Palette is absolutely my travel make up must have - it goes everywhere with me, mainly because it is so easy to pack and has everything you need in it.

A selection of mini make up brushes and sponges
The palette is about five inches by three inches, so is small enough to carry around in your handbag all the time. It's a cute little palette that is mirrored on the top, with just a small Clinique logo to the side, so you can actually use it as a mirror without having to open it. The inside lid is a mirror as well and it's a good sized one so you can use it to apply the make up with no problems. The only thing to bear in mind is that the inside mirror gets pretty dusty because the powders and eye shadows are directly underneath, but it's nothing that a quick wipe with a tissue won't fix.
There are two layers to the palette; the top has the mascara, powders, eye shadows and sponge on, whilst the bottom has the lipsticks and other brushes on. The bottom layer works like a drawer and slides out from underneath. I think this is great, because it stops you from getting powder on your lipsticks.
The mascara is a miniature version, but still lasts quite a long time. I really like the mascara because the wand has a bushy end, which I find works really well to separate my eye lashes without making them look spidery. The only problem I can see occurring is being able to replace the mascara when it runs out because the little groove that it fits into wouldn't accommodate a normal sized mascara from any brand.
The lipsticks are various shades of pink and red, although none of them are bright red and none are that non-existent pink colour that you sometimes get. There's a good selection and I really like the moisture rich one as it helps my dry lips, especially when I'm on holiday. This one is also my favourite because it has a bit of glitter to it (with it being silver pink), so it's nice for special occasions and parties especially. There's a little lipstick brush that is quite good. It's a slide out one, so you don't get lipstick marks all over the rest of your palette and it is really good for applying the lipstick. Usually I just use my finger, but I find that the brush it really good as getting a nice even coat.
The eye shadow quad is four shades of brown. One of them is almost a nude colour and is good for a base coat. Then there are two that I would say are for actually giving colour, one I prefer much more than the other because it's a pinkier brown whereas the other is more of a chocolate brown. They are both nice, but I personally prefer the first. The other one is a much darker brown and I actually use that as a liner (because that's the one product that this kit is missing). The eye brush again is pretty good although it is very short. It would be perfect if it was a bit longer - I'm not sure why it isn't either because there is certainly room for it to be a little longer. The brush is double ended with a sponge tip and one end and a lovely soft brush at the other. The sponge end is good for applying the darker shadow as a liner as it gives a nice thin line, whilst the other end is really good for covering your upper lid.
The blusher is a really nice colour and I actually sometimes use it on my eyes (this set is so versatile!). It's called Mocha Pink and I think that is pretty much a perfect description because it is light brown, but with a lovely pink sheen running through it - a perfect compliment to holiday bronzed skin. There is a little brush to go with this as well which is lovely and soft. It is good but not great for applying the powder - mainly because it's so small, it is easy to get thin streaks of blusher on your cheek rather than general sweep. This is easy to solve once you have the knack though and if you don't get the knack, it's really easy to rub the powder in a bit.
The pressed powder is probably the only product that I don't use that much because it is just too pale for me, especially when I'm on holiday. It's a very milky colour, which is a shame because it is actually a nice powder that lasts quite well. It also comes with an application sponge which is really good.
===Price and Value===
This palette is a travel retail exclusive, so you can only buy it at airports and on planes, where it retails at between £30 and £35. It does seem a little pricey, but I think it's a good buy because you get a lot of Clinique products for your money and they're all pretty good. It's such a handy little thing to have (for the mirror if nothing else!) and it's got pretty much everything you need - certainly everything I need.
I've also bought a couple of these as presents and they've always been very much appreciated! I would recommend the product if you like Clinique and you have a bit of spare cash to treat yourself - it's cute, handy and pretty!
