Since being a teenager I have always suffered with spots and blemishes, and have used the clinique scincare range to try and combat this. So when I decided I was totally fed up, and foundation was the solution, even though I probably was still a bit young, clinique was the natural choice and I went for a consultation. Superfit makeup was suggested and it was great.
The price does seem a bit steep, as all clinique products can do, however I do think it is worth it. It is about £20 I think (recently switched to the anti-blemish so not sure exactly). I once had to buy a cheap foundation off the shelf at a supermarket when I had left my makeup bag somewhere, and soon realised I would never buy it again, so the price of clinique foundation is definitely worth it!
So, the product itself. It gives medium coverage which is great for blemish prone skin, although I still use a concealer for especially noticable blemishes. However, for small spots and light blemishes, the foundation itself covered them fine. The coverage can be built up and blended into the neck, which I found easier to do with a brush. It gives even coverage too, so no patches.
The only problem I found with this foundation was the choice of colours. It doesn't have a great range, so when I got a bit older and my skin changed, there just didn't seem to be a shade that matches exactly. The shade I had was by no means orange, but just didn't look natural enough for me. But in the meantime the foundation was great, and did everything it needed to do for me.
This is a good quality foundation liquid from Clinique which leaves my skin looking smooth and healthy which will set you back somewhere around the £20 mark for a 30ml bottle. It is a light weight foundation that blends into your skin smoothly and leaves it with a nice glowing look.
There are a number of different tones available to suit your skin tone, I tend to go with the Cream option as being the best match for me. I like the fact that while you can see the effect on your skin you will not be smelling this product on your skin as it is fragrance free which for me is important as some foundations that are not do not have the nicest of smells. The packaging claims that it is suitable for a wide range of skin types and that it is allergy tested as well for those with very sensitive skin.
Being a liquid you do have to apply a little at a time as it is quite fluid, the plus side of this is that you get great coverage, a real plus given the price as it means the bottle will last a lot longer. I find that it blends into my skin very quickly and leaves an even finish across my face. It dries quickly so you are not left hanging around for too long. This is a lightweight foundation, if you skin has a lot of blemishes and spots then it may not be heavy enough for you however fr my skin it is ideal as it does not feel heavy on my face and just accentuates my features. It also has pretty good staying power, easily lasting a hectic night out with no need to add any more.
This is a good foundation liquid and if you can live with the price one that is well worth buying.
I had a skincare consultation at a Clinique counter while we were away last year, at the time I was hunting for a foundation to help my pregnancy-drained skin regain some of its healthy look and when I mentioned it to the oompa loompa who did the consultation she gave me five small blister pack samples of Superfit Foundation in different shades. I immediately discounted the one she said she'd choose, so that left me with four to try out.
Each sample contained just enough for three days use, so in all I had roughly two weeks supply. Just enough time to realise that I hated it.
The foundation itself is nice to apply, it has a creamy texture even though overall it reminds me of a thicker than average lotion. It blends easily but dries a bit too quickly for me to be able to get the flawless finish I'm after, the only issue I have with my skin us the fact that my toning is uneven so the light coverage this foundation provides would be perfect if I could only get the hang of blending it tidily.
This is going to sound like I'm contradicting myself here but despite what I said above about fast drying times, Superfit never completely dries. It shines on my skin and makes me feel greasy, I've always been lucky with my facial skin and although it'll be sensitive sometimes it has a completely normal texture with no dryness or excess oil. Until I use this foundation, then I'll suffer from both dry skin under my eyes and a greasy forehead. All of the shades are the same in this respect, using four different colours in such a short space of time I can tell you that the formulation is exactly the same for each one and only the colour is different.
Different in a uniformly orange kinda way, that is. None of the shades were quite right for me, I'm usually quite easy to please and any 'Natural' (or variations on a name) pink based shades will suit my colouring. I'm always happy with freebie foundation sample sachets as the middle-of-the-road shades they usually send are perfect for me. Superfit has a strangely dark range, the Petal shade was probably the closest but even that made me look like I was wearing fake tan. My sis, who is darker skinned than me, took the sample I didn't want (human beacon's recommendation, remember!) and she said it was ridiculously dark - I was right, the Clinique woman was completely bonkers.
The coverage isn't bad, it's medium to light and would cover minor blemishes. I don't get spots but I don't think the foundation would be very effective in disguising anything more than a flat pimple even with concealer. It's so-so at covering dark circles under my eyes, I wore Superfit over a couple of weeks when my newborn son was being particularly ridiculous at night. I was knackered and looked it; this foundation would give me a brighter appearance for a couple of hours but then would unevenly wear away, leaving me with patches of raggy foundation and hints of the dark circles I was trying to hide.
Transfer rate is high, this foundation does mark your clothes and won't always come out. I didn't have any clothes actually ruined by it but it was touch and go with a white silky top until Vanish got the (orange) Nude foundation out on the third wash. Most items I wore while wearing Superfit would go into the wash with brown smears on the neckline, something which irritated me from such a high quality (and priced!) brand.
In Boots a bottle of Superfit will cost you around £19. In all honesty that's a price I'd be happy to pay for a decent foundation, but for me this has been a disappointment and far down my list of possible regular make-up buys. The lotion-like consistency means it's easy to control the amount you use, meaning a full sized bottle should last you for a while making this a reasonable price for anyone who gets on with the lastability and colour options of Superfit.
Good, even shine free coverage, great for every day use and for getting glammed up for a big night out. If you put it on in the morning it will last all day even without being touched up its really good for a long lasting coverage.
Its streak free as long as you apply it properly, a brush is good for this one because it can be quite thick and when you apply it with your finger tips it can often look a little bit too much, a bit like "war paint"
One good point though is that it comes in a small light weight tub which is great if like me you are always short of room in your make-up bag.
It comes in 11 different shades so id imagine there is a shade to suit nearly all skin tones
When you go to the counter to buy one or just for a tester one of the girls will always be happy to match up your skin shade to the right foundation for you, take full advantage its the only thing you'l be getting that's free! And at £20 for a small pot of foundation get your moneys worth i say!!
Before I even start this review I have to say that I have only used a sample sachet of this foundation that I got free with Glamour magazine and therefore I cant comment on the packaging or anything like that - I will just be reviewing the foundation itself. This is actually the first product I have ever tried from the Clinique range and that is basically because their products are so damn expensive that Ive never been able to splash out £20 on a small bottle of foundation but as I got this as a free sample I was really looking forward to trying it out and seeing whether the expensive price matched up to the quality of their products. I am not a massive fan of liquid foundations as it goes as many people who read my reviews will know but at least if this one didnt work then I hadnt wasted any money at all on it so Im basically happy. Having used this foundation a few times now Im not entirely sure Id spend my money on it and I also not sure that it is worth that £20 price tag!
Price: 30ml Bottle = £20
Stockists: Boots, Debenhams, The Clinique Website
For: Dry To Very Oily Skin & Offers Full Coverage For People Who Suffer With Acne Or Spot Prone Skin.
Shades: Bare, Cream, Almond, Neutral, Petal, Honey, Golden Beige, Beige, Healthy, Deep Caramel & Nutmeg. Now as I got mine as a sample I didnt choose the shade I got (Bare) but their range of shades is pretty good by the looks of it and no matter what skin tone you have you should be able to find a matching colour here.
This foundation is also fragrance free and allergy tested for those of you who have sensitive skin.
Applying this foundation is actually pretty easy as long as you dont use too much. The consistency of this is quite a bit runnier than most liquid foundations Ive tried (most of them tend to be quite thick) which means a little goes a really long way as it covers you face really easy and evenly. It seemed to rub into my skin really well and it was really easy to blend with my concealer even though the two products were slightly different colours. Make sure you rub it in properly while its really wet though because it soon dries rock hard and I was left with tide lines that were super hard to try and rub in once this had dried.
The coverage of this actually surprised me because I wasnt expecting it to be so good. I dont generally have spot prone skin and Id describe my skin as "normal" whatever that means so this foundation isnt exactly aimed at me but I was certainly surprised. It feels so lightweight on your skin but offers fantastic coverage of any blemishes or dry spots you may have but it doesnt cover them totally in my opinion. The coverage is certainly great for a liquid foundation but I have to say I prefer something a tiny bit heavier for me to feel like all my blemishes are not visible. It looks really natural on your skin - as long as you can get rid of the orange lines that is and it allows your skin to be able to breathe while still covering up all the bad bits so I guess it does do what it promises really. The staying power I dont think is that great as this only lasted about 3 hours before I felt the need to re-apply and get my powder out for over the top but maybe if you use a base or a primer it will last longer & it can be removed simply with just a baby wipe.
This did make my skin look quite good but I have to admit I dont think Ill be buying a full bottle of this foundation in the future. Maybe it wasnt as good for me because it isnt aimed at my skintype but Ill be sticking with my mousse foundations from now on. I recommend if you suffer with spots regularly but for everyone else I dont think its worth the money to be honest.

After testing out most credited high street foundations (you know the brands), I was introduced to Clinique by a friend, who swore by it. Having struggled with Oily, acne-prone skin for as long as I could remember, I wasn't really confident that any foundation would match my needs 100%. Nevertheless, I never ignore a recommendation. I went down to my local Boots where a Clinique Sales Advisor immediately welcomed me and listened intently to my skin woes. She suggested the Superfit Foundation, explaining it would be more suitable than the Superbalanced Foundation (the general recommendation for oily skin) and matched my skin tone to the perfect shade. I was still a little sceptical, especially after paying £20 for such a small bottle, but 3 years down the line and I still haven't looked back! It is fantastic. It gives a good, even coverage, even on my blemish-prone skin, and is really long-lasting. Each bottle lasts me a good few months, which in my opinion, definitely means it's good value for money. Its smooth, velvety appearance allows it to hydrate my skin (thus avoiding the "caked" look i used to get with other powder-based products), without creating an oily about-to-grease-a-cake-tin-with-my-face appearance (always good to avoid looking like this!). Although it's not a miracle foundation (I still need to touch up during the day or on a night out... but hey, who doesn't?), it is one I would definitely recommend to anyone with oily, acne-prone skin, that hasn't had much luck with anything else.
I absolutely love the Clinique SuperFit Makeup. This is the current foundation that I am using. I have sensitive, oily acne prone skin, and this makeup is perfect for my skin. It stays matt where it is supposed to stay matt, moisturizes any dry patches of skin that I have and is non-comodogenic so it doesn't block my pores or cause any breakouts of acne.
The foundation is so easy to apply. It is in liquid form and I just take a little and blend it over my face with my fingertips and it goes on smoothly and gives an even, flawless finish. It covers any little red markings or scars that you might have really well and makes your skin look fresh and healthy.
Generally I am not a big fan of foundation because usually I hate the way it feels on my skin. I feel clogged up and greasy. However this makeup is so light that I don't even feel like I am wearing foundation which is definitely a bonus.
The foundation comes in a nice little tub which is the perfect size to pop in your handbag and take out and is quite attractive in design. It is a little on the pricey side at £20.00 a time, however a little of the foundation really does go a long way and I find the tub lasting for absolutely ages.
There are a huge variety of shades so there is bound to be something for everyone out there. I personally use the 'bare' and I find that it works well on my skin all year around, even when I have a slight sun tan. The foundation blends in and matches your skin tone perfectly. The ladies on the Clinique counter are always really helpful with finding the right shade for you as well, so its worth having a quick consultation before you buy.
Overall I give the Clinique SuperFit Makeup a 9/10 because it is a fantastic easy to use foundation to use and gives you a flawless fresh finish. I only mark it down slightly because I do feel it is a little on the pricey side however a little does go a long way so it isn't so bad.
Clinique SuperFit Makeup is one of the many foundations I have tried whilst on the search for the holy grail of foundation, a search, I assure you, is long, hard and very very expensive.
I have always liked Clinique products, and have purchased them in the past, mainly skin care and mascara, but never foundation. I visited a Clinique counter in my local Boots where I informed the assistant I was looking for a 'natural' looking foundation that was lightweight and would last all day at work without looking like a 'mask'.
I was really impressed with the assistant, she sanitised her hands before she tried any products on my skin, which I thought was brilliant considering I don't know where her hands have been.
She suggested trying the Superfit makeup as it met my requirements, and she tried two colours on my jaw line. She let me make up my mind as to which I felt was a more natural match, but she said she did agree with me as the colour of the one I selected seemed to disappear into my skin and looked seamless. I left the Clinique counter a very happy bunny that day.
The foundation, £20 for 30ml, is oil free, 100% fragrance free, is allergy tested and claims to wick sweat and excess oil away from the skin, keeping the skin looking fresh all day. I must say I definately agree that it wicks away moisture, as my skin looked quite fresh and dewy for most of the day, only needing a slight touch of powder on my nose (my oiliest area).
Applying the foundation is easy, either with your finger tips, or for more even coverage, with a foundation brush as I prefer, it glides on easily and blends really well. There are no tell tale lines and it gives a nice even coverage, but still retains quite a light feeling on the skin. I also found that it did not clog my pores or settle into any fine lines. The plastic bottle makes it easy to dispense, just a little squeeze and you're ready to go. I would like to see a pump dispenser as they are a more efficient, the lid did come off my bottle and leaked all over my make-up bag.
There are plenty of colours to choose from and with an assistant always on hand to help I'm sure you won't get it wrong.
I purchased this foundation from the Clinique counter at Debenhams. The Sales Advisor took me through a full consultation and professionally applied the make-up in front of a mirror so I could see its finished effect.
The customer service was excellent and I was offered a money-back guarantee if it wasn't right for me.
The coverage on this foundation was flawless, and it felt light against my skin. It was easy to use, glided on effortlessly and was in general a really nice foundation. The packaging was basic but effective.
Unfortunately, after a few wears my skin started to get very sore and irritated, with my skin breaking out more frequently than before. I've felt a similar effect when using cheaper foundations, and the problem became so bad that I had to stop using this. I didn't want to return it as the Sales Assistant was so nice and helpful.
Anyway, I switched to the Repairwear Anti-Aging Foundation. The problem soon resolved itself and my skin's getting better.
Just a word of advice though. If you find any irritation problems with Clinique foundations I'd suggest returning it back to the counter and trying another product with less toxic ingredients in it. Clinique products are so extensively tested that the problem is unlikely to be with the product, but an intolerance to an ingredient from within your own skin.
This is a great liquid foundation! It took me a great deal of time and money to find a Foundation that really worked for me. I tried some that were both cheaper and more expensive, when I finally discovered this one I was delighted! I have now got through at least 6 bottles and they last ages and ages, even when you think it has run out, stand it on it's lid and it still lasts for nearly another week. I have just purchased my latest one from Boots for £19 it is on offer to receive a free bag at the moment. Clinique often run bonus time offers (these are on their website when & where) and this is really useful to stock up on items, as buying two Clinique items you also get a make up bag with lots of small sized products - which makes the price far more reasonable.
This applies really well - not to runny or thick, easy to smooth over, great at covering the bags under my eyes and lasts nicely throughout the day too.
Would really recommend!
This is the best liquid foundation I have tried and believe me I have tried a fair few! The best part is it's more affordable than alot of other high end foundations that don't perform as well.
The 17 shades offer a range from ultra fair to olive, i am more of an olive tone so this was great for me. I don't know if there are any darker shades than that, so darker skins may want to choose another foundation.
This product is supposed to last all day, however I found that it does fade a little if left on longer than 12 hours. Although many people probably don't need it to last much longer than this!
The foundation is great as it doesn't smudge. Clinique sell this product as "transfer resistant" and I can confirm that this is definetly true of this foundation.
The foundation is in liquid form so it is really easy to blend on the skin. I use a trusty make up sponge to make sure its blended properly. I love the full coverage it gives, perfect when I am called out to the hospital in the middle of the night. I just stick a layer of this on and you can't tell I have had no sleep!
I buy alot of my make up from Debenhams, which you have proabaly noticed from my other reviews. This product costs me around £17.50 which i think is great compared to other such as estee lauder which can cost up to £21 for the same size foundation.
Overall this foundation gives good blendable coverage which stays on and lasts.
This foundation comes in quite a small bottle (holding 30ml of foundation) with a screw top. I bought the foundation for £19.09 from Boots. Which is quite reasonable considering how long the product lasts. I apply the foundation once or twice a day and it lasts at least a month and a half, if not longer.
It takes quite a while to find the shade that matches you best. When they do a skin test for you on the day, if you get home, it could be that you were not viewing the foundation under quite the right light. So the foundation I bought first was a bit too dark, and had to be added with moisturizer to make it lighter.
It's not oily at all, and it doesn't clog up my pores. It hasn't worsened my skin, if anything, it has made it better! It rubs in very easily to produce a natural looking finish. And it's not too sheer, so it's suitable for use on relatively bad skin.
I would definitely recommend this foundation to anyone with greasy or oily skin, looking for a reasonably priced, all rounded foundation.
This foundation was part of my wedding make up. The assistant at the Clinque counter tested my skin for sensitivity and tone, and recommended the 17 Cream for my particular skin.
The bottle is 30ml, comes in plastic bottle with a screw cap. The nozzle at the top makes application much easier (I had a previous Clinque foundation from yesteryear and it didn't have the nozzle - foundation use to go every where!). I also bought the Clinque foundation brush for easy and even coverage, but I suspect any type of foundation brush will do the same trick (having the Clinque brush didn't add anything to the finish look!).
The foundation itself is not too wet but thick enough to be spread evenly across the contours of the face. I did find however that if you didn't apply the foundation onto the face, it can get absorbed on the back of the hand quite quickly. It has very smooth finish with absolutely no greasy patches.
In terms of its lasting effect, I had this on from 12pm to 8pm and I only needed to pat my face with press powder once to get rid of some shine. Other than that, I experienced no "melting" of the underlying foundation or the make up on top. I've read in magazines that specialist recommend you use a primer but I found that this foundation was good enough without a primer. It "stuck" onto the skin perfectly and held onto the rest of the make-up with ease.
Great foundation, no "melting" and worth the price!
This foundation comes in a small plastic bottle which is 30ml in size it has a screw on lid and a small pump nozzle which is easy to control and means the product won't spill all over the place and lasts, for me, about 4 months. This foundation cost GBP 17.50 which i think is a faily reasonable price for a product of such good quality.
This foundation comes in twelve shades Petal, Bare, Neutral, Cream, Honey, Caramel, Healthy, Beige, Golden Beige, Nutmeg, Almond and Golden. It is very smooth to apply and blends very easily leaving no harsh lines it gives a medium coverage and a natural appearance. This product claims to be long wearing and it is exactly that i found thay it lasts around 12 hours and is completely transfer resistant without the need for re application. This foundation is Oil free so is suited to those with oily and combination skin, it gives a semi matte finish which looks natural and is best applied with a clean finger tips or a foundation brush. I did not find a need for face powder following application of the foundation. It was comfortable to wear and didnt feel heavy and the colour stays true throughout the day.
This foundation comes of easily with my normal cream cleanser, it did not clog my pores and or cause my skin to breakout. The only real negative things I can think of with this product is that its lack of moisturisers would make it unsuitable for dry skins and the choice of colours does not really include enough darker colours, so would not be right for ethnic or mediterranean skins.
To sum up this foundation is very good and for the money there a few as good as this, make sure before you buy you have a consultation with a clinique sales assistant to find the correct colour for you.
I use this foundation dailyand it is one of the best I have tried. Clinique is all 100% Fragrance Free which is ideal for sensitive or problem skin like mine. The colour shades they offer are varied, and there is plenty to suit everyone, best to get one slightly lighter than you need, as it looks much more fresh and radiant. I paid around £14.50 for mine from Boots and it has lasted me around 8 months which is fantastic. As although it does seem quite a lot initially it does last a long time, so is worth the spend. The packaging is nice and compact and you only need a small amount. I apply it simply with my fingers by dotting a small amount on my forehead and cheeks. The application is beauitfully smooth and really combats oily areas an dry areas and balances out the skin tone. I have slightly spotty skin so the coverage is brilliant whilst at the same time it looks light and natural and not too cakey. I would recommend this foundation. Its really smooth and worth the money.
