Bourjois Pastel Lumiere Eyeshadow are iconic in the beauty industry. The little round pots that have been synonomous with Bourjois for decades and are amongst the most popular products on the cosmetics market. The shadows are very soft in texture. The colour range is large and vary in intensity. There are all have the same finish, however- a light shimmer. I was impressed with the fact that Bourjois have unusual colours in the range. My favourites are the shadows that are black/ grey in pigment but have have a different colour shimmer, eg. green or purple. The shimmers show up particularly well when the shadow is layered over a black cream shadow. I really am not snobby about eyeshadows, but I do find that I can tell the difference between these shadows and more expensive ones. Blendabilty is more difficult, you have to work hard with a brush. Pigmentation can also be rather poor. I always use my shadows over a base but with Pastel Lumiere I do find that I have to apply a few layers in order to get the true colour that is in the pot. I would never attempt to use these shadows without an eyeshadow base as I feel that, not only would the colour lack intensity, but the gorgeous shimmer would fade too quickly. I do like these shadows, but the do require work. For a couple of pounds more, you can get far better shadows that will be easier to work with. Alternatively, I feel that cheaper shadows can be just as good as Bourjois Pastel Lumiere shadows.
Fab eyeshadow, great price! This eyeshadow comes in so many yummy colours you truly are spoilt for choice, I am fair skinned and prefer natural make up, my favourite colours are 08 Beige Rose and 05 Brun Irreel. The packaging is great - more sturdy than most meaning the eyeshadow is safe in the bottom of your handbag without the danger of the eyeshadow breaking up and the packaging spliting covering the bottom of your favourite bag! There's a built in mirror to allow application on the go along with a cute applicator. The eyeshadow - you get a generous sized dome of colour nestled in the lovely packaging. It's well compacted so it doesn't break up into dust. A couple of swirls around the dome collects enough eyeshadow to give good daytime coverage, a couple more swirls give you more coverage - perfect for day to night wear. Its light and blends really well with other colours from the range and other brands of eyeshadow. The coverage is good and builds well for those who prefer heavier make up. Great product!
Bourjois - Pastel Lumiere Pearl Eyeshadow I decided I was going to treat myself to an upscale eye shadow that was that little bit extra special. So while I was looking around Boots I came across this product. **WHAT IS IT** This product is from the Bourjois range and is called Pastel Lumiere. It is a pearl eye shadow that gives off a pearly glimmer in the colour. The particular colour that I bought was called Bleu Iridescent, which happens to be a pastel green colour. There are however several other pastel colours to choose from depending on your preference. They have different shades of pastel colours range from different shades of pink, purple, brown, orange, green or blue. **PACKAGING** Each eye shadow comes in a very sturdy circular box. On the front of the box in gold writing there is the Bourjois logo and it also tells you what the product is. The back just has a barcode for scanning and lets you know that the product is from France. The packaging is more sophisticated than others and has a circular button to press on the front to open the box. Inside has the eye shadow tablet and you are provided with a brush. The brush for applying the eye shadow is very small and slightly curved. It has a clear handle with the Bourjois Paris logo on it. The one thing I feel that the packaging lacks is a small mirror, which could have fit inside, as this would have been very beneficial. **PRODUCT** The eye shadow itself is very silky to touch and straight away you know it is a good quality product. All the colours in this range are very soft and subtle with a unique shimmer to them. They are really different from any other eye shadow I have seen. When applying this eye shadow it goes onto your eyelids smoothly and will blend very easily giving a subtle and glamorous look. The colour when applied is pretty but it doesn't stand out too much however you will have a nice glimmer to your eyes. The thing I like is that you don't get much fall-off when applying the eye shadow therefore it is less messy and easier to apply. Plus it blends in well so you don't get harsh lines around your eyelids like other products leave you with. You don't get any crease lines either and you will get a nice smooth look. The only downside I would say is that the colour does fade. It is vibrant once you apply it but as the day goes on the colour will fade considerably. **MY OPINION** This cost me roughly £6 from Boots and to be honest I am not sure I would spend this again on this particular range of eye shadows. It does have a unique colour and it does apply to your eyes very well. You start off with a great colour but it does fade. This means that the colour looks dull on your eyes and its not really a good look. I feel that it is too expensive for what you get and that there are better eye shadows on the market for a cheaper price. I do like the unique colours this range has but its annoying that the colours don't last. It really is an eye shadow that I would wear on a daily basis as they are subtle colours plus if it fades it doesn't really matter as much. If it were a special occasion I would recommend another brand, as this one is not worth the extra money.
I had never used these eyeshadows before, or infact any make up from this brand, but my daughter got some eyeshadows on a 3 for 2 deal. The eyeshadows are priced at £5.99 each for a single pot, which originally i thought was quite expensive as i normally pay that for a trio of shadows from a different brand. She very "kindly" gave me the free one! (lucky me!) I have been using the eyeshadow since august 2008! And there is still half left, i would have got through several of my previous eyeshadows by this point. It blends really well, and stays on all day, no need to re apply. Because the pots are individual they are very easy to slip in your bag if you only want to take one peice of make up out, its much better than having a set with multiple shadows. The pots do include a little sponge brush, and this has lasted as long as the eyeshadow, i often find with other brands the ends fall off, or tear, so this is a postive point.
I love eyeshadows and I'm always attracted to the bright, funky colours which is why when I saw an offer at Boots for 3 for 2 on Bourjois make up, I decided to take full advantage and choose three colours. The colours I bought were: 24 Turquoise Ensoleille - a gorgeous blue 17 Prune Intense - a deep purple 48 Vert Petillant - a stunning green The eyeshadows from this collection are all shimmery and intense and have little light reflecting glittery particles in them. The pots are cute too, they are round and match the colour of the eyeshadow inside, they have shiny gold lettering on the front with the Bourjois Paris branding, the name of the product and the number and name of the colour. It opens at the front in the middle to reveal a little domed cake of eyeshadow, a round mirror in the lid and a small eyeshadow applicator made of hard clear plastic (shaped to fit your thumb). It is very easy to apply, the eyeshadow is hard not loose, so you glide the applicator across the cake, and then sweep it across the eye. The first application you put on your eyelid may not appear as strong as vibrant as you would imagine - I'd suggest applying a few strokes to build up the colour for a dramatic effect. These colours are not for the faint hearted, they are quite striking but beautiful and completely changes your whole look. Everytime I've used these colours, I've not had to top them up once when I've been out...unless I forget I'm wearing eye make-up and rub my eye, I'm forever doing that! All in all, a great, funky eyeshadow in some great colours. Also a great size to pop in your handbag, and the mirror is a great bonus! They sell for £5.99 each and Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 offer on Bourjois (cheapest free) so treat yourself xx
I own loads and loads of eyeshadows! I seriously own stacks of them and as my Mother is always quick to point out 'Melanie you only own one set of eyes' lol so it's something I don't really buy at the moment cos I don't need to! However I don't know about other ladies on here but the other day I was in town and I was getting myself a new outfit to go out with the bf in for a nice meal. I treated myself to a new dress and then spiralled out of control buying shoes, then I needed a bag and somehow I convinced myself that I needed new make up! I guess I'm a typical woman when push comes to shove lol. So I went off to Boots clutching my Advantage card and debit card knowing I was about to face a sting financially. Now I use the Bourjois Dream Mousse Blush and I'm pretty faithful to it. I simply love it so knowing the sort of colour I wanted eyeshadow wise I headed straight to the Bourjois counter. Not only because I expect their offerings to be good but I'm not blind on here and see how much you lot rate this eyeshadow! At £5.86 a 'pot' I decided that wasn't a bad price for the look and weight of the eyeshadow and it was exactly the colour I wanted so into my basket it went with a load of other make up (I didn't need lol). The Packaging: Well the eyeshadow comes in a round flip open plastic pot the same colour as your chosen colour and as far as I'm aware there are only 8 colours to chose from. Personally I opted for 'Ambre' which is a pearly apricot sort of colour. On the top of the pot I'm told what it is and the colour is stated and on the underside the weight is stated which is 2.5g and that's it really. It is a nice little colour coordinated product though with it's gold writing and little gold push button to open it with and it's sturdy and robust. There is a little sponge applicator in there too which again is robust and easy to use and there is a mirror inside the lid. Using It: This is simply a breeze to use and is really excellent quality. Usually I don't like the given applicators in products and am very quick to bin them but this is really handy and with the mirror as well is a great product to keep on you in your bag 'just in case'. You can use this in a couple of ways and there was a small leaflet in mine telling me basically I can use it wet or dry and doing it either way is fine by me! When using it dry it comes off on to your brush or applicator with ease. If you touch the eyeshadow it feels silky to the touch and when sweeping it onto the eyes it goes on as it feels..like silk. It's easy to blend, to build up colour intensity and and I have experienced no flecking of powder where I don't want it. It gives a pearlessent effect without looking like a metallic finish and of course contains no glitter to give this effect which in my mind makes it suitable for any age of female to wear! It lasts on the eyes all day till you come to remove it, giving no irritation or a heavy feel, it doesn't transfer and when you come to removing it......just use your usual make up removal method. Easy! Using it moist builds up the colour pigmentation and gives it more of a shimmery effect. All ou do is moisten your brush or applicator and sweep it over the colour and blend it on the eyes. Again it's very easy and just cos I've dipped a moist brush into my powder doesn't muck it up and again all you do is sweep it over the eyes. Again the colour lasts all day, is easy to remove the lot. Verdict: A very easy to use eyeshadow that really does look nice on. They blend well with other none Bourjois eyeshadows too and basically give a very nice last lasting professional look to the eyes. I shall definitely be purchasing more of these in the future! I decided to try my first Bourjois eyeshadow after being told my a friend they are made by the makers of Chanel. How true this is I'm not sure but I decided I'd try them rather than pay the hefty price of Chanel. ~Packaging~ These eye-catching little tubs are so pretty just to look at, I like to line them up and just look at them (yes, I really am that sad). Each little pot is coloured the same shade as the eyeshadow inside, so you can tell fom a quick glance which shade you're looking for. This seems a small thing to get excited about but other cosmetic brands such as clinique and lancome have standard coloured packaging regardless of the colour inside, and when your makeup bag is as overflowing as mine, its a bit of pain to have to hunt for the one your after. Each pot has a small gold button to press top open the lid. This little button means that the lids don't just fall open in your makeup bag and therefore the shadow stays clean and protected. Once opened you see the eyeshadow (obviously), but also a little applicator and mirror on the inside of the lid. I have my own eyeshadow brush which I use at home but if on the go the applicator and mirror are a great idea. ~Price~ They retail at £5-£6 full price which may seem a little steep but you've got to consider what you are getting for you money. Not only are they (supposedly) from the makers of Chanel, you also get the aforementioned applicator and mirror. They are versatile in that you can use them wet (for added impact) or dry. I have also found that they last a very long time. I have bought these quite a few times while they have been on offer. Boots and Superdrug often have special offers on, such as 20% or 3 for 2, which are well worth taking up. ~Quality The range of shades available is great, from subtle neutrals to more dramatic blacks and purples. You don't need to be a makeup artist to get the most out of these products. As advised on the packaging you can use it "as is" or you can use it wet. This is useful in building up colour for a more dramatic look. I have also found it lasts longer when used wet. I have quite a range of these colours but I'll talk you through my favourites. #90 Blanc diaphane. This is basically just white but its lovely french name makes it sound much more impressive and sophisticating. This eyeshadow may look completely bland and uninteresting but I think its fab. It can be used to in the corners of the eyes to make a more youthful and wide-eyed look. I also find it useful when blending other colours. I have a few of the more dramatic shades that can look a bit harsh for daytime so I apply this shadow over the top for a more subtle appearance. It can also be used for highlighting areas like the brow bone. #92 - Gris Paillettes. This is a very dark grey, almost black, with flecks on glittery shimmer. This is great for an evening look and ideal for creating smokey eyes. The glitter gives it that extra party feel. I also use it wet, with my own flat-edged eyeliner brush, just along my top and bottom lash line to give my eyes a bit of added "oomph" #34 Rose Tentation. This is a pale pink with a subtle gold shimmer. I am quite fair and find this colour really suits my complexion. Not only is it lovely as an eyeshadow,I have also found that it works well as a blusher. It has just the right mix of pink and shimmer. To sum up, I feel that for the price these little pot are a brilliant buy. They a long lasting and the versatility and colour range are impressive.
These have to be my favourite eye shadows!! Firstly there are so many choices of colours, ranging from bright more daring colours to more natural looking colours which provide extremely versatile. Secondly the packaging is really nice and fits into any make up abg well. The packaging is quite tough and does not smash unlike some other brands therefore you dont end up with a broken eye shadow all over your make up bag especially when travelling. The applicator included allows you to blend the shadow nicely and achieve the look that you want. Applying the shadow is very easy. As already mentioned the shadow blends easily meaning you can wear it with other shades and eyeliner. With the vibrant colours you dont need to put a lot of the shadow on to make it noticeable. And lastly the price is very reasonable especially as the eyeshadow last for a while.
I like these shadows, they're cute, come in little coloured pots (which makes it easy to tell what colour you're picking out of your make up bag - as it is the actual colour that's inside the pot) and the quality of the shadows are excellent for the reasonable price they're being sold at. There's quite a good range of colours (there are 12 shades to choose from) and the texture and quality are pretty good, especially for budget shadows. Before I discovered more professional and expensive shadows, these were my favourite and I used them from my teens into my twenties. My sis, who's younger than me loves this too, as these are affordable and easy enough to use (especially if you're not that familiar with make up, these are an excellent starter shadow). The only reason why I've moved on and don't really use these anymore is because I'm addicted to very pigmented, vibrant make up and can actually afford the pricier ones. I'd highly recommend these shadows and say that they're one of the best ones you can get on a budget and don't need a lot of make up experience to get a good result from these.
*Packaging & Price* The packaging is really cute and gets full marks from me, very modern and stylish! Definetly my favourite packaging for eyeshadow and it looks really good in your make-up bag! The packaging is round and made of shimmery plastic which matches the colour of the eyeshadow inside. The size of the pot is aprox 2cm tall and 4.5cm in diameter. The writing along the top has the brand name and the number of the eyeshadow. The lid lifts up on a hinge by holding down the gold 'button' on the side of the lid. I've noticed that the gold writing doesn't wear off easily like on a lot of other packaging, which is a bonus. Inside the tub there is a brush and mirror in the lid. The eyeshadow is raised up in a concurve shape. It also comes with an applicator, it's small and made of clear plastic with a slight curve to it which I find is a good shape for holding as you can apply the shadow all over your eye with it. The price is £5.75 (boots) which is a little high but definitely worth it. It may be worth while shopping around as you may be able to find it cheaper in the market place / bargain stores / ebay. *Application & Product* The eyeshadow has a really pretty shimmer to it. Inside the packaging it has a little piece of paper which says, 'Use a slightly wet brush to reveal the full intensity of the powder's pigments and shimmers for a vibrant result'.I bought this eyeshadow in two different colours. The first colour I tried was No. 24, turquoise ensoleille. I would never dream of wearing an eyeshadow in this colour usually but the colour looked so pretty on the tub that I had to give it a go! I tried applying it dry first. The shadow looked quite pale and I didn't really like this. So then I tried it wet, and wow what a difference! My eyes looked shiny and fantastic and the colour really suited my colouring (dark blue eyes and blonde hair). The colour reminds me of a tropical beach and the sea. I wouldn't recommend this for everyday wear but it looks great to use when you are on holiday in a hot, sunny country! The second eyeshadow in this range that I tried was No. 25. Argent. This is a shiny silver colour. When applying dry this shadow gives a subtle hint of colour to your lids which is pretty, really suits blue eyes and is ideal for everyday wear. When applying wet the colour looks a lot more intense and is perfect for partying / clubbing. When going out I usually apply it wet over my lids and then use a dry soft bristle brush to apply and blend it over the rest of my eye area. I found that the eyeshadow generally managed to maintain its colour all day, but when applying it wet it lasted longer than dry. There were also no creases and hardly any smudges. *Overall Impression* I am very impressed with this eyeshadow and will be buying more pots in a variety of colour. There are about 20 different colours to choose from so there is definetely something to suit everyone. They now also do blush pots in a similar style. The only drawback is the price is a bit much but they are definetely worth it if you can make your pot last. It can be worn in two different ways (wet and dry) meaning you can customise your look.
These pocket sized eyeshadows give long lasting shimmers ranging from subtle pastels to intense greens, blues and blacks. ~Price~ At about £5.50 they arent cheap but are definatly worth that bit extra more than cheaper brands like Rimmel ~Packaging~ They come in sturdy small round cases, the same colour as the eye shadow, which click shut (so no more opening & crumbling in your bag!) They also have small applicators in the case, altho if you lose them im not sure when you can buy replacements. They are a fine size to pop in your bag, without having to worry about leakage or breakage ~Colours~ Theres a wide range of colours (and growing), with white pearlesant shimmers, pretty pastels, glittery colour and more dramatic colours. I have a white with lilac shimmer (good for wearing to soften purples), a lilac, a green metallicy one (quite intense on its own but good worn with browns), a brown (slightly glittery whilst still subtle enough to wear everyday) and a gold (which is a really metallic colour, shimmery without being too glittery and tacky, perfect for special occasions) I'd like to invest in more of the range, but at the price itll take some time! There is a good variety though and the colours mix together well. Try them out first on your hand to see the actual colour, especially those with a shimmer colour different to the main colour, or with different sizes of glitter (ie noticable, just a shimmer) ~Quality~ I find that the eye shadows last all day, although I touch up if Im going out in the evenings. The colour tends to gather in the folds of your eye much less than liquid or cream eye shadows, and tends to stay over the eye quite equally. None of my eyeshadows have at all broken or crumbled unlike some Rimmel eyeshadows, and theres a lot of eyeshadow per pot so they last a long time protected in the cases. I regard them as a fairly high quality of product, long lasting and effective. I expect each one will last many years, and the product is very compacted in the case, so a little goes a long way (wheras some looser eyeshadows get quickly used up) ~Application~ You can apply these either with your fingers or a sponge applicator, the colour easily glides over your eyes, and more than one colour can be applied and then easily blended. Then intensity of the colour depends how much you apply, a light covering for a subtle colour or a heavy covering for a more dramatic look. ~Recommended?~ I'd definatly recommend trying one of these, and then two, then three ;) (every new outfit needs a new eyeshadow colour!) Try mixing them and using more than one colour at a time as well. Your eyes will shimmer like never before!
These eyeshadows are different from the usual eyeshadow and not too expensive either. They come in all metallic type shades very glittery and shimmering colours. This collection make a very dark blue look gorgeous and shiny, they even make green look very nice. I have built up my collection of these eyeshadows, they are about £4.25 and you can buy them in Boots, Superdrug anbywhere like that. They usually have testers so you can try on the colour and if you like it get it. The packaging is nice, it's a little circular case and you open it and inside is a rounde 3d shape dome full of eye shadow and then there is a curved brush which fits perfectly inside this and it applies eyeshadow on well. With some shades like the whites they may all look the same but when applied some give a green shimmer, some a lilac and some blue so they really are not all the same, these are pearly shades. I like the gold ones and also the green I have is gorgeous. I would recommend when buying the eyeshadows you get them in a shop because on websites there is never a colour to show the same as the actual eyeshadow colour they are that shiny. Bourjois are a great make up company but their eye shadows are the best although I love the lipgloss.
Didn't your mother always use to tell you to never judge a book by its cover? Well you should listen to your mothers you know ..... but maybe you could make an exception in this case, because these little eyeshadows are just cute enough to eat. They come in adorable little "buy me buy me" pots, (you know, the type that shout at you from the shelf to take them home), each one the same colour as the eyeshadow inside, with a little gold press stud and flip top lid. The shadows themseleves are a range of pastel shades as suggested by their name. Once applied they shimmer and glimmer on the eyelid but they are not over the top, they are glamorous in a subtle way. Great for a night out or special occasions, I always get lots of complements on my eyes when I wear these. A definite must for girls who like to be girls and who want to be treated like an angel.
I have always been tempted to buy loads of these top quality eyeshadows, but I always managed to convince myself that £5.95 was too expensive for a single mono eyeshadow. So, as you can imagine, I was thrilled when I walked into my local Superdrug store (in Yeovil) and saw a woman putting loads of these Pastel Lumiere eyehadows into an 'End of Season Sale' box! I eventually bought a lush shimmery, pale pastel green colour, called 'Vert Ondine 91' for the bargainous price of £2.60!!! It has to be the best eyeshadow I have ever owned! It stays on all day and comes with it's own applicator - so it's easy to apply, it is crease resistant and really shimmery. It looks great! It was definatly a bargain of the day! (and £5.95 doesn't seem so expensive any more) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT
This is one out of two of my favourite products in the Bourjois range available from Boots and Superdrug. They have lots of sparkling shimmering colours. I love the packaging too it comes in a circular compact with a little applicator brush so it's easy to apply. The eyeshadow lasts for ages and the shades are gorgeous. Lots of girls I know love the eyeshadows. The french company are good at designing makeup. The only thing is some of the products are a bit much the eyeshadows are £4.75, sometimes boots do offers with a £1 off them. I definitely recommend this eyeshadow for anyone looking for a long lasting eyeshadow with good colour that won't run out in a hurry.
The ultra-fine, light texture is perfect for blending / The colors compliment each other beautifully and are perfect to suit any woman's skin tone / Select one or more of these fabulous colors /
