“ Brand: Myface / Type: Eyeshadows / Suitable for: Eye „
This eye shadow is for the disco diva in me as it is a fun eye shadow for glamming it up a bit, the metallic silver colour is certainly not something I would wear for everyday use but if I'm going out clubbing then this is a great product to wear as it gives my eyes a definate sparkle. This eyeshadow is water proof as well which makes it ideal for long nights out where things may get a little hot. The silver colour is one of three colours that I have in the range, I also have one called Gilt-y which is a nice bright gold colour and another called Bellbottom blue which is a vivid blue colour. The packaging is quite basic, a clear disc container with the contents clearly on view and a minimal approach to the labelling. The colours are all vivid and very attractive, the silver has a nice sparkle to it, it is also wonderfully light to wear and is pretty easy to apply as well. Once applied this eyeshadow stays on and there is no flaking of the product which is something you can get with the glittery eye shadows. That is not the case here, the coveridge was nice and even and there is a consistency in the colour and tone. The eyeshadow is a crushed pearl and pigment which makes it quite dry. These are also great to blend in as well so I often combine the silver with the blue to get a great double effect, the silver is nice and subtle when combined with the stronger more cold effect looking blue and they work well together. The only real downside is the effort it takes to get these removed but that is the price you pay for the top quality staying power that they have. Not the cheapest products but they will not break the bank either, they are also not the easiest to get hold of, I bought mine direct from the myface website and the silver screen cost me £12.99.
I'd been eyeing up (excuse the pun, ha ha!) this eyeshadow in Boots for quite a while, being unsure whether I wanted to take the plunge and pay such a large amount for a single eyeshadow, so when they had a 3 for 2 offer across all make up I decided this was the time to give it a go! Retailing at £12 normally for just a single eyeshadow, I was much happier trying it out for a discounted price. You can instantly see that the eyeshadow is of a high quality, it is highly pigmented and also apparently contains crushed pearls for a more intense shine. It goes on well, unlike most glittery types of eyeshadow you don't end up with dustings of glitter under your eyes and generally all over your face! It also lasts well throughout the evening, with no creasing, although I do always use an eyeshadow primer which helps. You can also choose how intense you want the colour, I wouldn't really wear it during the day anyway but if you do want a more subtle silver sheen you can just apply a very fine layer, or you can stick a load on and build it up for a really intense, metallic, almost foil-like look, which looks stunning. There are many colours available and there are also co-ordinating products in the 'myface.cosmetics' range. My only criticisms really are to do with the cost...... It comes in a basic, transparent, plastic tub with a flip lid and whilst it's not all about the packaging I would have expected a little more for the price. A little mirror inside the lid would have been nice but at the very least I would have expected to get an applicator with it.
This is a review of an eyeshadow from myface cosmetics which is from the bling tone range and in the shade of silver screen. Phew! Got that? On with the review! Acquirement I was given this eyeshadow by a good friend who thought of me as a lover of all things sparkly and silver and she kindly put it to one side for me. Until then I had never heard of the brand but was interested to have a look online to see what else they made. What does it do? (the claim) Well it's a pretty special eye shadow. You can create an intense, foil-like finish and intense, icy glamour. Revolutionary formula is packed with crushed pearl and pigment and it won't drop or flake. Plus, each shade is designed to match perfectly with a lil' bling chrome nail polish for an ultra-modern, matching metallic look. About this shade - silver screen: She always knew the difference between walking into a room and 'making an entrance'...and when she wanted to make an entrance, she never did it without silver screen on her eyes...a precious metal silver with a delicate, sheer shimmer that always gave her an inspired confidence...as though she was channeling Marilyn Monroe. Price and availability On the myface website, the single eye shadow retails for £12.99 and there are 14 shades in the range available. Spend over £19 on the website and you also get a free lip gloss. In use I was surprised at the intensity of this eye shadow as it looked quite glittery in the pot but it went on really well and for me was not a day time look! But it was excellent for a night time make up and dramatic looking eyes. As you only get a single shade in a pot with no applicator I used my own brushes to get the look I wanted, but on the website it does suggest using your fingers for the best effect. I think you can just apply a little bit for a sheer look or pack it on to get the real layered metallic and glittery effect. I also used some other colours to soften the effect. It lasted all evening and was quite easy to remove with a cream cleanser. My thoughts Looking at the other colours in the range I think the silver was a good choice for me but I am also eyeing up the shade 'Black Ice' as one that may go well with 'silver screen'. These are quite pricey but are also pretty special and do make a nice gift. I am not sure about the Marilyn claim above, I think silver eye shadow can equally be compared to Pat Butcher if you don't suit it. I hope I fall into the former camp though! Final word I am impressed with the quality of this eye shadow and the brand itself is one I am now interested in. I hope to try their lil' bling chrome nail polish (£6.99) next when I feel the urge to splurge. The myface.cosmetics website cites that it sells make up for the 21st Century and is a fun one to visit and there are plenty of products to ignite the imagination of people who are adventurous with their make up.
