Although I generally prefer a gloss for my lips I do tend to keep them for nights out and days off work, for the office I personally find lipstick more suitable and longer lasting. I recently got a few samples from my local Avon representative one of which was a little sample tube of Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick, I liked it so much that I ordered a full sized tube. Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick is sold in a traditional style tube which is black and silver, the lid pulls on and off easily and the lipstick twists up and down, with the colour choice on a little sticker on the bottom. The tube is slightly bullet shaped and the colours make it look quite stylish. Ultra Rich lipstick contains vitamin E and jojoba which according to Avon will "hydrate your lips" and give "gorgeous colour". The lipstick is available in 9 colours and these range from browns, peaches through to shades of pink. The colour I chose was Frozen Rose which is a lovely rose/pink colour with a slight shimmer. Its a very pretty colour which is noticeable but not over the top. ideal for work. There are 2 things I cannot bear with some lipsticks, one is a horrid taste and the other is if it feels sticky on my lips, when I first tried my Avon Ultra Colour Rich lipstick I was disappointed to find it did feel slightly sticky on my lips however this did wear off really quickly and any stickiness that had been there had disappeared, I was also pleased to note that the lipstick didn't have any taste to it at all. The lipstick glided over my lips easily without dragging and I found I didn't need to run it over my lips a lot of times to get a nice colour. As I mentioned I wanted this to wear for work and the colour I chose was ideal, it also lasted most of the day too not fading away after my first coffee of the day. I did find by mid afternoon it had virtually worn off but by now I had had a quick lunch at my desk and several cups of coffee so I was really pleased with how Avon's Ultra Colour Rich lipstick lasted. I haven't had any irritation from this and neither has it dried my lips out. This lipstick is available from the Avon brochure or www.avon.com, it currently costs £7.00 which I personally think is a good price for this type of product. If you wear lipstick and are looking for a good lipstick that lasts well and is good quality I would certainly recommend taking a look at this one.
I ordered this Avon Ultra Colour Rich lipstick a while back from Avon while it was on offer. I think I got it for £2.00, but it usually retails for £7.00. As I have mentioned in previous reviews Avon make-up is nearly always on offer. It is currently full price, but you can get a free gift set when you spend £12.00 or more on most make-up products. The lipstick is available online at www.avonshop.co.uk or from your local Avon representative via the Avon brochure. ~ Appearance ~ The lipstick comes in a fairly plain looking stick. It is made from black plastic and it tapers a bit at both ends. It has a silver metal band around the middle with the word, 'Avon' imprinted into it. The bottom of the lipstick has a light pink sticker on it, mine does anyway. I think the sticker is meant to represent the colour of the lipstick. The name of the shade is on the sticker. Mine is called Pout and is a light pink colour. ~ Use ~ The lid is easy to remove and the lipstick is easy to twist up. The lipstick is about 1 inch tall at its tallest point. The lipstick has an angled edge for ease of application and below this on the stick the word, 'AVON' is imprinted into the actual lipstick. The lipstick feels smooth on your lips and glides over them easily. It feels moisturising. The lipstick appears quite subtle on my lips, but it does have a slight shimmer to it. It feels comfortable on your lips and you are not constantly aware of the product on your lips. The colour of my lipstick is quite subtle and it does seem to wear off a bit quicker than other lipsticks I have used. It lasts about 2-3 hours, but if you are eating or drinking, like with most lipsticks you will need to top up or reapply this lipstick. The colour does not bleed or smudge easily. I would purchase this lipstick again in different colours. For me, I think it is important that a lipstick feels comfortable and you aren't constantly aware of it on your lips and this does provide a nice subtle colour, which looks nice on your lips.
Review of Avon Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick Avon is well known in the United Kingdom and the company has been popular for many years. Avon was one of the first direct sell companies to become a household name. Older readers will no doubt recall the 1960's advertising campaign which involved the ringing doorbell and the cheery 'Avon Calling' sales rep. **The Lipstick** This lipstick is a traditional stick type lipstick and it is enriched with vitamin E and jojoba to hydrate lips. The lipstick is available in around 10 different shades and 2 finishes, Shimmer or Satin. The colour I have in front of me is called 'Iced Coffee' and as the shade name implies it is a light brown tone with a lightly shimmering finish. The packaging is simple, a black plastic tube with the twist up mechanism in a silver coloured metal. It is an understated, classic design which doesn't look out of place or scream 'Avon'! I have to be honest and say that I bought this as an impulse purchase. My niece is an Avon rep and she was a little short of her target in a recent campaign and to avoid her not getting any commission for that campaign, I flicked through her brochure and chose a couple of items to help her out. I know I'm a soft touch but she is a young Mum trying her best to make a few extra pounds! This lipstick was one of my selections and to be perfectly frank, I did not hold out any great expectations for it as I have been less than satisfied with Avon cosmetics in the past. I am actually very pleasantly surprised by this lipstick; it is true to colour, feels natural and pleasant on the lips and most importantly, lasts very well. I tend to apply my lipstick straight from the tube rather than with a brush and I have found that this glides on easily and smoothly. The shimmer element of the lipstick is not too pronounced, it is shiny without being sparkly. Sparkles are a look that I don't think would suit me at all! Price wise, I believe this retails for around £6, although I purchased it along with a couple of other cosmetic items as part of a 3 for £10 promotion. Avon products can be purchased through an Avon representative or from the company website http://avonshop.co.uk If shopping on line it is worth checking out one of the various cash back websites prior to purchase, as there are some generous cashback discounts available. **My Thoughts and Conclusion** All in all I feel this is a decent quality lipstick and the range of colours on offer is pretty good. The colour I chose is perfect for daily use as it is subtle and in spite of the shimmering finish, gives a neutral, natural look. The lipstick is also quite moisturising and it does not leave lips feeling tacky the way some other moisturising lipsticks can. In my opinion this lipstick is well worth the money, it lasts well, looks good and is easy to apply as well as coming in a nice selection of shades from pale neutrals through to rich reds. This is one I would have no hesitation in recommending to others! Thank you for reading ©brittle1906 November 2012 N.B. My reviews may be found on other sites under the same user name.
Being an avon sales representative myself I have to keep up with what's new and what can be recommended for customers to try out. Personally I believe you can't go wrong really with any of the avon lipsticks as such. However the glosses and other lip products I can't guarantee the quality of. Getting back the Ultra Colour rich brand there comes a number of categories, none of which either myself or any of my customers have ever had a problem with. Firstly there comes the Ultra Colour Rich Cool Bliss Lipstick that contains mint crystals and an SPF15. This lipstick comes in six icy shades which moisturise the lips and give a shiny finish. The standard price is usually £8 but can regularly be found with a maximum discount of 50% which great value is considering how long each individual lipstick can last. Secondly there is the Ultra Colour Rich Mega Impact Lipstick which was advertised by Reese Witherspoon and is slightly irregular as the makeup itself is square in shape which makes it a little strange to apply. I think this is the most vibrant of the Ultra colour series and claims to have a "Chromapixel Technology" that amplifies its colour; however the eight shades available are a bit overpowering for most people unless you are a regular user of powerful colours and styles of clothing. It does contain an SPF15 also and is £8 at its standard price although was only £3 at its introductory price and is sure to fall in price again in the near future so I would wait until then in case the colour doesn't suit you or your outfits. Thirdly there is the Ultra Colour Rich Extra Plump lipstick that comes in four more neutral shades in comparison to the mega impact range. It again contains the SPF15 and makes your lips tingle pleasantly when you apply it, it is however a little more limited in its choice of shades though and I would rather go for the Cool Bliss Range as that range suits my complexion a little better, it is a little less expensive than the first two mentioned at the price of £7 but can also be found with a discount every other campaign or so. Next up is the Ultra Colour Rich 24K Gold Lipstick which is easily my customers favourite because of its moisturising qualities and glittery finish, it is infused with real 24K gold and has quite easily the best range of shades from golden wine to chocolate gold, its full price is £8 which I would gladly pay though again every few campaigns you can find it with a discount of up to 50%, which is when my neighbours and myself stock up. Finally there are the satin, shimmer and metallic range which I would classify kind of as the same they seem to be to give the same sort of finish to your lips and are generally £6.50.They are definitely the most neutral and basic of the lipsticks but combined have a total of nineteen shades that can't be argued with especially with the price with similar texture to the cool bliss range excluding the mineral extracts and SPF15. All of the Ultra colour rich lipsticks are found in the main makeup section of the brochure and although this section changes location in the brochure the different shades and ranges can be easily identified as each has a unique little twist or difference. Each lipstick in the avon range comes either sealed or in its own individual box so you can be sure nobody has used the product before you also which is good. Personally my favourite would be the 24K Gold range around Christmas and the cool bliss in the summer as the shades available correspond well with these seasons in my opinion.
I ordered one of these lipsticks from Avon not long ago, as I had a friend who also liked the shade and had recommended it to me. It was half price at the time I ordered it, so it was only £3.25 which is a great price for a fab little lipstick like this one. It normally costs £6.50. There are loads of different shades you can buy this in, and there is one for almost every kind of skin tone. For warmer skin tones you can choose from... *Pout *Instant Mocha *Iced Coffee *Latte *Bronze Treasure *Perfect Peach *Cappuccino *Country Rose If you have a cooler skin tone you could choose from... *Carnation *Red 2000 *Buttered Rum *Frostiest Mauve *Twinkle Pink *Chic And one to suit all skin tones... *Frozen Rose These are sorted out into satin finish lipsticks and shimmer finish lipsticks. The way they are laid out in the brochure will always make it easy for you to see which is which. I ordered Perfect Peach because I just loved the way it looks. It is a shimmer finish and it is absolutely gorgeous. I really love it and recommend it. This lasts for ages but comes off if you eat or drink. The packaging itself is lovely too, it is shown in the picture but looks a bit lighter in real life. This looks really nice and I have received many compliments while wearing it. So I definitely recommend this :)
Any regular readers of my reviews will be aware by now that I work as an Avon representative when my poor health allows, mostly as a hobby, although I do love to earn a couple of pounds for my pocket at the same time! I did make a conscious decision recently to update my make-up bag - some of it anyway - and this decision made me sit up and take notice when a recent Avon brochure was running a great offer on some of the cosmetics and make-up items. The offer was an "Any two items for £8" kind of deal, and given that some of the items cost around £6.50 each or so, I recognised immediately that this was a good opportunity to replace some of my tatty old cosmetics. One item that I was desperate to replace was my tatty old coffee-coloured lipstick. Having used the same one for the best part of a year, it is looking rather worse for wear and drastically needed updating. Scanning the relevant pages in the Avon brochure, I could see that there were a few different types of 'Avon Colour Rich' lipstick to choose from - for example, there is a small range of 'Metallic' shades and a small range of 'Mousse' lipsticks on offer. I did feel though that I just wanted a replacement for my old bog-standard type lipstick so on this occasion I opted for the 'Avon Colour Rich Lipstick - Satin, Shimmer' which sounded much more up my street than the 'Ultra colour Rich Lipstick - Metallic' type shades, all of which looked to be far too sparkly and shiny for my own personal tastes. Having decided which TYPE of lipstick I wanted, I was then left with the decision of which colour to choose... Phew! So much choice nowadays! Noting that the 'Satin, Shimmer' range of lipsticks had a good dozen or so shades in total - about 6 'shimmer' shades and 8 or so 'satin' shades to choose from - meant that I was spoiled for choice when deciding on my preferred shade. The object of the exercise was of course to replace my old tatty coffee-coloured lippy, so I opted for similar shades when considering my choice. The name of my old lipstick was incidentally called 'Iced Espresso' and I did note that several of the names of the lipsticks on offer had coffee-related names... This added to the confusion somewhat. I eventually narrowed it down to the 'Latte' shade and the 'Cappuccino' shade. One of course was a 'satin' lipstick and the other was a 'shimmer' lipstick... By this stage I was about to tear my hair out as both colours looked to be really quite similar in shade! I did eventually decide on the 'Latte' shade for no reason other than I thought it looked nice. So did the others though! I am actually getting to a point in telling you all of this. I do think that we, as the consumer can be faced with TOO much choice and at times I personally am a little overwhelmed. The choice of lipsticks on this one occasion is a perfect example. I don't really think that Avon really NEEDED to separate them all into 'satin, shimmer, metallic' or whatever, and ultimately I think that by doing so all they have achieved is making the customer work a little harder to place their order. Anyway, when the lipstick arrived from Avon, I was initially quite impressed. The long black coloured tube looked quite sleek and somewhat sophisticated (well I thought so anyway, in comparison to my old battered original lippy!) Taking off the lid and screwing up the lippy to see the colour, I could see that indeed the 'Latte' colour was satin-looking in its shade and was not overly shimmery or metallic-looking. (Bear in mind that this shade was from the 'satin' range.) Applying the lipstick has proven to be quite effortless. I do find that the shape of the lipstick really helps with application and the little 'nib' or 'point' at the top helps to get an even looking finish and minimises mistakes. The lipstick was not overly scented, nor did it have an overwhelming 'taste' to it. I do find that it does have SOME scent and taste - as every lipstick does, in my opinion at least - but it is by no means too overpowering or unpleasant. The texture of the lipstick is one that I think is of quite a high quality. I do find that cheaper lipsticks in particular feel a bit naff once applied but not so with the Avon ultra colour lipstick. My lips feel quite moisturised and I didn't feel any ill-effects like a tingling sensation once the lipstick had been applied. Another huge plus point for me is that there was no evidence of flaking or chapping. Neither did I think the colour 'bled' around my mouth to excess, which is a common problem with other brands on the market. The above points do make me agree with the little statement made by Avon in the brochure to describe the lipstick which is... "With Vitamin E and jojoba to hydrate lips, get gorgeous colour that gives a voluptuous look to lips. Choose from shimmer or satin finish". I cannot really pick fault with any of this statement and would agree wholeheartedly with the reference to lips being hydrated. I did find that the colour was quite true to the shade shown in the Avon brochure on this occasion and this has certainly been a problem with Avon products in the past! The Latte shade has just the right shade and colour for my skintone and is not overly dark, which is a common problem for me when buying lipstick in general. The Avon Ultra colour rich lipstick costs £6.50, which to be honest I do think is a bit on the pricey side. That said, as I got it as part of a "2 for £8" offer, I do think that is a reasonable enough price. The lipstick seems to be of a reasonable quality so I am happy that it is worth paying a little more on this occasion. All in all I would recommend the Ultra Colour rich Lipstick and I for one will be trying out some of the other shades... I'll be waiting until they are on offer again though! I will award the Lipstick four stars out of five. I'm knocking one star off the rating because without an offer I feel it is a little on the pricey side, and the way that Avon have advertised the range of lipsticks is a little on the confusing side. Other than that though, I cannot really fault it! You can purchase the Avon Ultra colour lipsticks directly from your Avon representative or you can shop online at www.avonshop.co.uk.
My cousin gave me a few of these lipsticks when she stopped doing Avon and was left with loads of stuff. They come in 2 finishes and they are satin and shimmer, the satin one has a bit of a matte finish and the shimmer one shines a little bit more but is still not that shiny. I have got:- Iced Coffee and Carnation out of the satin range and Cappuchino and Chic out of the shimmers. ICED COFFEE This is like a mix of pink and light brown. I think it is a bit dry when I put the lipstick on but it doesn't dry my lips out and looks nice when I wear it with loads of black eye make up. It don't last long and I have to reapply it every 2 hours and after I've eaten something. CARNATION I don't like the colour of this one because even though it looks v. nice in the tube it is very old fashioned looking when I'm wearing it. It feels creamy as I put it on but its a bit too creamy because it makes it feel v. heavy through the day. It lasts better then the Iced Coffee one but i wish it wouldn't because I don't like how it makes me look. CHIC This is one Id only wear if I was going out because the colour is very strong compared to other lipsticks I wear. Its quite a deep red colour but has some brown tones in it as well. It isn't very shimmery but has a nice deep colour that makes me look glamorous at night but I only wear pale eye colours with it cos I don't want to look like a clown or Rosie Webster from Corrie who always overdoes the dark colours. CAPPUCCINO This is my favourite cos I have been looking for nice shiny brown lipstick forever. The colour suits me good and i like it because it shimmers more than the other lipsticks you buy in this selection. One problem is that it drys my lips out quite bad and I have to make sure I use a lip balm when I take it off. Teh colour lasts for ages though and I only have to apply it again once in the day. These Ultra Colour Rich lipsticks are usually £6.50 in the Avon book but most times are on offer at £5.00 and that makes them brill value for money for such cool colours.
Sometimes I am a big fan of Avon products and other times I find them a real let down. It is often a bit of a lottery where make up products are concerned in particular, but fortunately this is one product that I have had no reason to grumble about. In the brochures this lipstick retails for £6.50 each. Previously it was £6 each but the price has just gone up. It is frequently featured in offers such as buy two get one free which brings the price down a little. I do not think the price is anything to complain about though as this lipstick lasts me a year and there is usually still some left when I clean out my make-up box every year and bin the old bits for hygeine reasons. This lipstick comes in a variety of finishes including shimmer, the new metallic and plump. My personal favourite is the plump version of this lipstick with my favourite shade being Frozen Rose. It goes with absolutely anything and is especially suited to daytime wear. There are too many shades to list here though you can find these on the Avon website or by turning to the shade selector in your Avon brochure. What I like about this lipstick is that it is soft and moisturising while firmling being a lipstick rather than a lipgloss. It stays put for a morning or afternoon though I cannot claim that it has ever lasted a full day without reapplication unless I apply lipcote over the top. This really is a lovely soft, smooth lipstick that I can find no fault with. It is affordable, easy to apply and it stays put for a reasonable length of time. I highly recommend it to everyone.
When you think about your makeup, you have to think about Avon Ultra colour rich Lipstick. A hint of shimmer on the wine glass or touch of mischief on your man's collar and a sheer glow on your pout - they leave a mark (on everything), yet they find a place in your make-up kit. Yes, we all love lipstick! Lipsticks have always been around for a long time, in some form and shape, and always have been termed as a make-up essential. Lipsticks make our face look neat and complete. Lips usually tend to appear stained and uneven in tone. Lipsticks not only even out the skin tone, but also protect our lips from external damages like smoking stains and the harsh rays of the sun. Today in market we can easily get lipsticks that are loaded with SPF and moisture. According to this fact AVON has launched the Ultra Color Rich Mouse Lipsticks with SPF15. The AVON Ultra Color Rich Mouse Lipsticks has an ultra soft mousse core with special conditioners to keep lips soft and smooth. This lipstick is available in alluring shades, creamy textures and is a make-up must have. Every time we lick our lips that our favorite flavor will make us feel more positive. Some of the most common flavors are mint, strawberry, chocolate and bubble gum. Overall.... if you are a regular lipstick purchaser then I would definetly recommend these to you as a good product, however for myself, for the £3 or whatever I paid for them, I am really happy with that but don't think I will make a regular habit of buying them when they go up to full retail price as I do prefer gloss over them. The right shade, flavor can change our day from blah to wow! So, try it once.......
I am a typical girl when it comes to my make up, I have always been the same since a very early age, using my mum's lipstick and everything, however when they introduced lip gloss, that was more or less the end to lipstock for me and I have never really used it since until browsing thorugh the AVon catalogue as usual and I came across the Ultra Colour Rich Lipstick. I feel sorry for my Avon representative and I always try to give her a decent enough order and if it is normally anything less than £10, I will try and top it up with something new that is on offer and this was that something new on this occasion and they were a lot cheaper than the normal RRP on them, I think they were just £3 each as an introductory offer in the catalogue, and the model that was wearing them had lipliner on as well as the lipstick and that is probably what captured me straight away as I don't go anywhere without my lip liner, that one is a dead cert. AVon cosmetics have definitely progresed over the years as I can remember when the packaging of their products was not too glamourous and packaging always seems to be the first things that attracts some people into buying them. These lipsticks come in a dark blue glossy outer container and to be honest look a little bit cheap in comparison to some of the packaging that they have just got rid of, however the price on this occasion was more attractive than the packaging and the fact that they had a couple of colours that I would normally wear, or they looked like the kind of colours that I would wear as sometimes Avon colour charts are a little bit off in comparison to the actual item. I purchased Latte and Sparkling Bronze colours and was quite happy with the Latte colour when it arrived however was not too sure about the Spakling bronze as it looked a little bit more reddish than what I anticipated and I always tend to go for pink or a light brown in colour. When you twist the lipstick up, they don't look any different than any other lipstick, however when you actually apply it the stick itself is very soft and it glides on very smooth and it actually feels more so as though you have got gloss on and not lipstick. The good thing about this product is that is actually tastes quite nice too so throughout the day when you lick your lips you are actually licking something a little more pleasant than some of the foul tasting products that are on the market today. Overall.... if you are a regular lipstick purchaser then I would definetly recommend these to you as a good product, however for myself, for the £3 or whatever I paid for them, I am really happy with that but don't think I will make a regular habit of buying them when they go up to full retail price as I do prefer gloss over them.
With added vitamin E and jojoba to hydrate lips to give them a voluptuous look /
