      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Great Lego magnet with a Father Christmas and tree.

      ===Why I Got This===

      This little set was an early Christmas present from my son and his girlfriend. They both know I enjoy Christmas so they gave me some seasonal items early so that I could use them as decorations.

      ===The Brand===

      Lego is a construction toy made by The Lego Group, based in Denmark.
      Lego is world famous for its interlocking plastic bricks and now also mini figures and other boxed sets. The best thing about Lego is that it can be taken apart and re-made into something different. Lego began making interlocking toy bricks in 1949.

      ===The Product===

      Comes in a small bright yellow box approximately 5 x 3.5 inches.
      A building toy for over 6 years.
      Contains 48 pieces.
      Box has the standard LEGO logo and the yellow box is made to look like a brick. On the front is an image of the finished Santa magnet.
      Distributed by LEGO group, Denmark.
      Warning - choking hazard due to small parts.
      Full colour instructions plus extra stickers in different languages.

      ===Cost===

      My son said that this was not too expensive when he bought it in the LEGO shop in Manchester a while ago.
      However the ones I have found on line are quite expensive for what they are:
      $9.99 on the LEGO website
      £12.99 on Amazon UK
      £9.99 on Ebay.

      ===My Opinion===

      This was a lovely little novelty to receive early on in the festivities when we were decorating the house ready for Christmas.
      The finished magnet is about 3.25 inches wide by 3 inches tall.
      Luckily the set came with a good, clear, coloured instruction sheet which made it easy to put together.
      The magnets and base are red bricks and Father Christmas comes in five pieces which need to be fastened together. By his side Santa has a brown sack brick which contains a white 'letter' which just slips into the sack. The letter is not a brick at all and slips in and out of the sack (too) easily - but by moving Santa's hand forward over the top of the sack it will keep the contents of the sack in place.
      By the side of the tree is a parcel made out of blue and white bricks and with two transparent blue bricks on the top to represent a bow.
      The fiddliest part is putting the tree and its 'lights' together. The main part of the tree is made out of thin green bricks while the lights or decorations on the tree are thirteen small round transparent yellow little bricks. However the instructions are easy to follow and the whole thing does not take very long to complete.
      Along the front of the base was a transparent sticker proclaiming 'Happy Holidays' - however if this is not to your taste (or language) you also have a sheet of twelve more variations of greeting - and we changed ours to simply read 'Merry Christmas' - but the other eleven stickers are all in various other languages.
      This has a strong double magnet section at the back and I now have it stuck to some Christmas tins in my kitchen.
      It is pretty and a good size and my son was surprised at how nice and large it was when complete - and he says he only paid a 'couple of pounds' for it. I am not really sure of its price as he did buy it in a Lego shop but the ones I have found online are, in my opinion, quite expensive but what it is.
      It is a nice novelty but does not have lots of play value for children for the prices being asked in some places.
      So while I would give it five stars for novelty value and sturdiness I have marked it down for the price being charged in some places as I have failed to find it cheaper online.
      I believe this Seasonal magnet was issued in 2011 and I have found two similar ones online as well - one with a sleigh (2009) and the other with a different type of Christmas tree (2006).

      ===Star Rating===

      4 stars - depending on the cost.

      ===Would I Recommend?===

      Yes.
